Clean and organized range, their Valentine’s Day archery special was a nice touch. However the rate for that specialty package was the only feasible price than their overall rates for renting arms and ammo compared to other ranges in SA. Don’t get me wrong, it’s worthwhile all the same, just don’t expect to stop in every other weekend. The actual arms for sale I haven’t seen elsewhere and counter to my last point would be willing to pay a pretty penny for those!
Thanks to Quinn, one of the managers who took the time to explain about several rifles and calibers so we came up with a set up that will fit my needs and expectations. Congratulations on having staff with the experience of instructing you and listening to what your needs and budget are. I’m looking forward on getting a membership and also instruction on different types of weapons. I’m very pleased with my purchase.Thank you very much.
1st time there no one greeted or helped me until 15min later & there was employees available then a gentleman said are you doing OK as he is still walking I said I need help & made a face I said 1st time there & not too familiar had plenty questions long story short under 20min expected me to buy a gun & before I had a chance to say let me do my research since he clearly didnt wanna help me he said if you want to do your research & come back wow! Pros-Beautiful place lots of options and lifetime guarantee.
The friendliness, professionalism, and attentiveness of the staff is beyond reproach! Quinn, in particular, is the real MVP. I HIGHLY recommend Mission Ridge for anyone who appreciates being treated like a valued customer. A++
Mission Ridge came through with my order for a hard-to-find item. Really appreciate the great customer service, communication, and follow through by Purchasing Coordinator Bryan Otley. Definitely made me a dedicated customer of MRR!
Visited mission ridge on a Saturday evening for archery. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They explain beginners in detail so as to how to use a bow and arrow. We have to watch a video and sign a waiver before you can proceed to the range. If you want to save time you can watch this video and sign the waiver online before coming to the academy. You can bring your own equipment or rent it from the academy. The only thing that disappointed me was they gave only 4 arrows to each person.
Had THE best one on one training session with Noah. I came in feeling insecure and left feeling like a champ! He was very knowledgeable and patient - I couldn’t have asked for a better beginner experience. I will be back to perfect what he’s taught me. THANK YOU!
This place was so helpful! I mean from being knowledgeable about any question 2 being courteous and safety in a range. and great service and welcoming atmosphere. Specially as a black man there’s a stigma and when I come here I get treated great and the tips on how to shoot and safety is phenomenal. Big thank you to Jonathan. He Made me feel safe in the lanes and service was top knotch about anything . All the staff I’ve been honored to talk to have all truly been polite and easy to talk too. It really is worth your money & They offer gun cleaning and will help you keep your firearms clean with tips to go home with and great products❗️thanks to Caleb the gun smith, like I said supper polite and just a great experience over all . And the outside and in, is very clean and sleek. Very modern . Thank you mission ridge
I absolutely love Mission Ridge! The employees are always willing to help especially Aurora and Jubilee. Whether it is over the phone or in store, they go out of their way to get me taken care of, even calling me back when I leave a voicemail! Theyre always a great time! Someone give these girls a raise! I will definitely be sending my friends and family here!Oh and I cant forget about David, such a very informative guy!
This place has become my go-to indoor training range. Its clean, feels spacious due to the high ceiling for those of you that like that, and the staff are a good mix of friendly, professional, and down to earth. Ive also dabbled in their training courses. Instructors appear to lean more towards an unspoken be humble and constantly improve sort of mentality, with a lot of attention given to details. Folks are generally passionate, and youll probably get a good laugh. As for the actual firing lanes, Ive only trained in the 25-yard lanes. You can keep your brass if youd like, and staff have often taken the initiative to help out. For example, on two separate visits, Jonathan (staff member) helped me fix a bad habit that I was starting to develop with my grip, as well as speed up my learning process when I was experimenting with another firearm that I was unfamiliar with. All in all, solid place with a generally good vibe.
$12 for the second shooter on the same lane? Seriously this is such a FU fee why does it matter to you if one shooter or two using the lane? And if its not enough the $40 will be per hour, huge Ripoff.I wanted to go shoot with my wife and probably buy her a gun but I will take my business elsewhere.I simply hate business that make up charges that dont make sense and add no value to the customer.
Great shop with helpful staff. Several employees asked if I needed help upon an entry and while walking around the store room. I knew I wanted a 6.5 Creedmore and they talked me into the magnum version (6.5 PRC) which better suits my hunting needs. After successfully hunting with this rifle, I am much more satisfied with the round. I bought both the rifle, scope and had their gunsmith bore sight the rifle. Bore sight was discounted since I got the gun at Mission Ridge. I took the rifle to a ranch, and was able to group shots on a piece of printer paper at 300 yards on a windy day.
I am new to the License to carry world and felt uncomfortable. We went to Mission Ridge regularly and the staff and range are excellent. There is one individual that stands out Jonathon has been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As a teacher, I found his calm voice and demeanor a positive influence. Thank you making my introduction to handguns a nonstressful and enjoyable experience.
Came by to look at compact and sub compact handguns and Phillip provided an exceptional experience. He was very polite and knowledgable about all of the firearms sold in store and even ones they didn’t have. Thank you so much for an amazing experience and recommendations on different handguns Phillip!
Took my LTC course today at Mission Ridge. I was dreading it to be honest but it ended up being an awesome and fun yet informative day! The environment there is like walking in to your own birthday party. You just feel welcome. This is refreshing compared to other places in the city I’ve been to where the staff is too serious to even smile because they think ranges and fun don’t go together.Matthew ran the entire course from start to finish. From the way he instructed us during the proficiency test to the classroom learning, he did awesome! He made the classroom setting fun and interactive which helped make it feel like the day wasn’t dragging on.If you’re looking to get your License to carry, you should definitely consider taking the course at Mission Ridge. I’m even considering getting a membership there since it’s one of the only places I’ve seen lately with a 100 yard indoor range.Great job Mission ridge for having Matthew on your team.
Ms Ashley is amazing! Shes extremely knowledgeable, intuitively helpful, and has a fun upbeat personality.Mission Ridge as a whole is a wonderful place to go for target practice, test firing, and to learn more about personal protection, gun safety, etc.
They seem to not know what going on there. Call to ask about a gun. They say they just sold it and ask to see what the price. The lady say she didn’t know what they sold for. It’s strange until I want to talk to the manager than she do more digging to find the price. If you don’t want to hell just say it. Won’t buy there. I when to Adelbridge gun on San Pedro ave. Much better selection and great customer service.
Wife and I took the LTC course with Stephen Jones.Great experience. I have taken some other gun classes where the instructor just wanted to be done and you could tell. Stephen’s enthusiasm and energy did not waver over the 8 hr course. He handled some of the far leaning political and belief based questions and comments with grace keeping the course focused on the material without encouraging or discouraging participants.Muchos Kudos!!!
My wife and I are avid shooters. We shoot weekly. I can say without hesitation that Mission Ridge cares about its guests and members. We have always been treated with respect and courtesy. We have brought others shooters to the range, and they have all been very impressed. Several employees stand out, especially Aurora, Garrett, Mark RSO, Rafe and Seth. Its nice to be greeted with Nice to see you, or Welcome back! It reminds you that they are paying attention and recognize that you have been there before. We became members and recommend joining to anyone who shoots regularly. It is a clean, organized and SAFE place to shoot. I have NEVER seen a Range Officer be anything but polite and courteous to any shooter, regardless of ability, and they always seem to be helping new shooters. I have interacted with a lot of the staff up to and including the COO, and been treated well by every one of them. My wife and I give Mission Ridge our highest recommendation!
Ashley is an amazing example of great customer service. She helped my son return a product quickly and effectively and assured that he was 100% satisfied. We will definitely be back.
Love this place,my second home, due to my health condition all this kids make my visit very enjoyable, they go the extra mile to help me in all my needs, thanks juan,Aurora, nick all you guys that names escape to my bad memory
Talked with Jonathan in the 100 yard range today, good guy.He was helping the other guys out in there today.Nice meeting you
Took my 70-year-old father there to shoot today. As we were checking in I was told 25 per booth and to add my Dad was an additional 12.50 for his own booth. We brought our own Ammo and was there for less then an hour. Total cost $80.16When I complained about the cost to cashier He informed me he gave me a 50% discount plus he let me know that the facility was very costly.I can assure you it is a magnificent place and must be reserved for the elite or people that enjoy overpaying for a place to shoot. I’ll never step inside this over priced place again. To fancy for this ol Texan!
If you need work done on a bow, go to a real bow shop!!!! I came in to get my peep sight and D loop adjusted. I knew my string needed to be twisted, so a bow press would be required. The worker at the bow desk sure put on a persona like he knew what he was doing... but this was not the case. The simple, basic task was not done properly and my peep is out of alignment 20 shots later. I was charged $10 for peep install and $10 for D loop install, neither were done correctly. I’m sure they would attempt to fix it if I brought the bow in, but I will be heading to Boerne to go to a real bow shop. The place was nice, so it gets 2 stars instead of 1.Stick to guns if that’s what you know.
First off, i have to say, outstanding retail store, well stocked, even when others are not. Quality brands that can be trusted and sales people that are knowledgeable and are absolutly not pushy.I dropped an AR off that was having some issues. These issues couldnt be found by 4 other expierenced gunsmiths with 80+ years of combined experience, Caleb found it quickly. They also did a laser bore sighting on it. Hit steel on the first shot, 475 yards. My issue was from an uncommon, not rare .30 carbine pistol that was jamming. It was something they hadnt seen in person, but qould see what they could do. I signed the initial estimate, just under $200. I recieved a voice mail that it was completed and available for pick up, the total was just under $600, not what i would have agreed to. There was some sort of issue with the extractor. The manager said there was 3 hours of labor @ $95 an hour. Being a disabled vetern(with credentials) i asked about a military discount, nope, only on range time and ammo. Not a place i will suggest to others ever again, as i had in the past.
As a new gun owner Mission Ridge Academy has been very helpful with my first purchase, LTC licensing and support while on the range. Special thanks to Jonathan For his skill and professionalism while in the range.
Let me preface this by saying that Ive been to tons of shops throughout the country, and this weekend I received hands down the best customer service Ive ever had. I was helped by a young lady named Aurora and she was fantastic! I came in looking for something that was ended up being out of stock, but after a discussion with Aurora about alternatives and the pros and cons of each I walked out with something that was a much better fit than what I was originally looking for. She was extremely thoughtful and helpful and for that reason I will be making Mission Ridge my new go to shop, and I will be recommending them to everyone!
First off I would like to thank Aurora she was the best worker she went out of her way to help me and my friends she really deserves a raise in her pay honestly
Good experience, excelent service by the staff at the lanes. Also important to know is that thay ask for VISA or any US issued ID if you are a foreigner.Ask for the tavar rifle is smooth and powerful
UPDATE TO REVIEW:Kirk from Mission Ridge contacted me directly when he read my review below and he apologized sincerely on behalf of Mission Ridge and the manager. He assured me that their employee training and documentation was properly and thoroughly updated to make sure nothing of the sort happens ever again. What made me raise my review to 5 stars is the following: Kirk really went the extra MILES to compensate my visit and make sure that I feel comfortable enough to actually go back to Mission Ridge with my head high. He initially asked me if i could come in the next day to shoot for free but i was already back home in Canada. He then asked me for my address, telling me that he wants to work on some kind of package to compensate me for what happened.Kirk actually took the time to put together the following: free rental and gun range access, a very cool t-shirt, a prepaid $50 MasterCard to compensate what i paid during my visit, and most importantly an actual hand written letter by Kirk with apologies from Mission Ridge for this incident. (See pictures)This definitelymade me feel more than welcome for hopefully a second visit soon!************************************************I HAD INITIALLY CHOSE TO GO TO MISSION RIDGE AFTER THOROUGHLY CHECKING ONLINE WHAT RANGES ARE IN THE AREA. I FOUND OUT THAT MISSION RIDGE HAD THE HIGHEST RATINGS, THE MOST HIGH END FACILITY YOU CAN FIND, THE MOST VARIETY OF WEAPONS AND I DEFINITELY APPROVE THIS FROM MY VISIT!!! THEY PRETTY MUCH HAD ALL THE RIFLES AND PISTOLS I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO TRY. THE FACILITY IS HUGE, NEW, MODERN, AND CLEAN! THE ARCHERY RANGE IS PERFECT AND THE VIRTUAL GUN GAME IS ALSO ORIGINAL AND SURPRISINGLY REALISTIC (without the recoil)!Major point during my visit as well:The entire crew (except that manager) was simply amazing during my entire visit. Very helpful and knowledgeable and I could definitely tell that they wanted me to go in and try all the weapons i had picked out with them.In the end, thank you Kirk! Mission Ridge is perfect since there isnt any uninformed manager anymore.5 stars!************************************************INITIAL REVIEW:Terrible experience left me disgusted. I am from Canada and wanted to enjoy some quality time at a gun range. The staff was very friendly and great and started to get me all setup to shoot. Mid choosing my guns and targets, the manager shows up and says that i need a US issued ID or visa by law to shoot guns. Canadians do not require any visa to enter the USA and upon researching online i found out that he was completely wrong, as long as you are from a country that does not need a Visa to enter the US you are allowed to shoot with your ID or passport as long as you are over 18 or 21 (depending on the weapon). I ended up wasting my time settling on the archery range and virtual shooter since i was already there. I have no way of having a US government issued ID and i cannot get a visa stamp on my passport since they simply do not stamp Canadian passports. Also, i decided to call 2 other local gun ranges to see what they said about this and they both said that i am allowed to fire at a gun range with my canadian ID since i am over 21. At least know the law if you want claim to be applying it, very unprofessional.I even spoke to a state ranger that night when i left this place and he suggested me a lot of other gun ranges THAT DO OBEY AND UNDERSTAND THE LAW by the letter. The ranger was so stunned by this story he even suggested that maybe the manager does not like canadians. I believe he simply does not understand the law in his own State and that is sad.
This place is my chick-fill-a. From the cleanest facilities to the superior service. Don’t cheap out and go somewhere else. Come to the best, wear your mask ( for all you constitution Karens ) and take a class cause you may learn something. Enjoy the clean, safe and happy pew pew life at mission ridge.
Jonathan was great! Very knowledgeable and informative, will come back to see him soon!
Spent 20 minutes in the shop looking to make a purchase.Employees never acknowledged I was in the store and, instead, spent most of their time checking out ear protection and clapping at the least unattractive female employee as she was testing it (failed attempt at flirting).Waste of time and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
As a female first timer. In need of self defense protection. I went in on several different ocassions this month to attempt to get information and possible LTC and firearm. Each time I went in i was followed around store. Especially by a large heavy set man named Nick. He was just staring but not offering help or education on what i should need. I felt even more treatened and intimidated by his behavior. He was just following me around sighing and rolling his eyes. No help what so ever. No one attempted to assit me or help me except for Ashley whom was a great help as I am very fearful of guns. She educated me and convinced me to watch my husband shoot. But during my first visit on actual range while I was spectating behind my husband. Next to us were people kicked out for live streaming while live firing guns. It made me even more fearful. Another couple was laughing and joking waving around a larger riffle being inmature and not responsible. As we were leaving miss Ashley asked what did I think. I explained what i witnessed. She felt terrible and resured me that doesnt usually happen there. She even offered to pay for my range time if we went back. But sadly Each time after that when i went in a different employee told me different things. No employees other than her were welcoming. As a scared female women seeking the proper protection and gear. I felt worse after each visit after that because most of male employees completely ignored me or just flat out made up rules policies on why they could not help me. Or had no knowledge. This last visit there was a small dark skinned dark haired girl with glasses. She was the worst one in the bunch. Trying desperately to empress fellow males employees by being a complete fool when i asked for her any questions. Just completely in mature. A stain on women everywhere. Whom had no idea how to answer my questions and had terrible attitude everytime i tried to ask questions about applications and ltc. Or information on specific firearms. It was a very unwelcoming environment with mostly very rude employees who refused to help get the proper education on firearms or ltc. Its sad because im in a position where i fear the safety of myself and children. And coming to what should be a place to help me and educate and properly train me. It ended up a horrible experience. I do not recommend speaking to anyone other than miss Ashley. She was great but sadly everyone else further proved why most people lack the confidence to go though proper sources for something like a firearm Or ltc.
This place is fantastic! Feels safe in comparison to most of the ranges around San Antonio. We didnt have to fight heat exhaustion either. Would and have recommended to others.Staff super friendly and responsive to all my requests and questions. I was able to use my own range ammo (brass only) and switch between rifle and pistol. You can draw from the holster as well if vetted by the Range Officer there. It is however a little pricey for weekly shooters at 25$ hr (12.50 for additional shooters).
Jonathan is a terrific RSO!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive!! The range is a.very fun place to shoot!!!
Great shop, cleanest and most organized in town. Knowledgeable staff is very helpful and friendly. Love this place
Very nice shop. Organized, clean and you can see where the pricing is well spent. Everyone there is very helpful and point you in the right direction. Best part is they give you options if the firearms is just not the perfect fit. They have a selection that is sure to fit you.
Jonathan is the best, really helpful, ask for him!!! Fun experience overall very recommended!
Really nice location, inside is super clean and organized. Easy to find what you’re looking for. I appreciate the help today, Quin R.
1st time going to this place.. greeted by the door man who was taking temps for covid ( super friendly). walked around a bit then was helped by a gentleman named Quin. I will be going back for all my gun needs and range time. Please do yourself a favor. See Quin for all your gun needs... Super helpful.
Amazing customer service for new firearm owners! I’m thankful I was not overwhelmed with too much information and recommendations lined up with exactly with what we needed for our family! Great atmosphere, not intimidating but welcoming!!!
100 yrd indoor range. Very clean, accommodating, and great services. Indoor archery and simulators. They also have a gunsmith.
This place is great. The staff are helpful. Prices of gear are not bad, along the lines of online prices.
The best indoor range in San Antonio. Well lit with great modern firearms displayed as if it were an art gallery. Every interaction with staff is always pleasant. Prices are very fair and usually better than other FFLs in the area. My two girls are competitive shooters and their favorite things about MRRA are the people and the simulator.
GREAT place to shoot indoors. Can be pricy considering the alternatives but they’re super friendly and professional. They work on an à la cart tab type system… You pay for your experience when you’re finished. We rented two pistols and bought three boxes of their ammo and one target, and it was a tad high at 94 bucks. But bring your own stuff and shoot for an hour, and two people can do that for about $50. Excellent ranges, plenty of room in the bays and helpful and present range officers make it a nice experience.
Mission Ridge Range & Academy is nothing less that outstanding! Great customer service, top notch safe facility. The people there are friendly and helpful and attentive. The classes are truly fabulous. Victor and the team make the learning environment challenging, and very educational while also being very fun!
This place is the best. I have been a gold member for 3 years now. The staff are always very friendly and quick to help with anything you need. The Gunsmith is very knowledgeable. I love going there so much fun.
Wow! This place is fantastic—excellent customer service, very professional, and super knowledgeable with firearms. I like the fact they have a shooting range. You can test before you decide to purchase. I highly recommend this place. They even have classes. Check out their website for types of pieces of training, membership, and classes.
Awesome facility. We have been members for over a year. I highly recommend. I take my 11 year old daughter there to shoot her rifle and bow frequently. Its not cheap. But who wants to save a few bucks dealing with safety. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. I havent yet attended training but look forward to when our schedule allows. Lots of demo days and free gun rentals for members.
If you trying to break down pricing by comparing Mission Ridge to other gun ranges in the area, dont. There is not one to compare it to. And that is not taking away from any other facility. I love my Bullet Hole Range. My decision to open a family membership has been a great experience. The amenities at this facilities make it great experience for each family member. Makes it a whole lot easier to spend more time shooting. Walking through the doors you know there is plenty of operational cost to run this facility. That is the correct way to break down pricing and decide if your getting your moneys worth. You will find that the pricing is very reasonable after that. * This does not even include the excellent customer service. I damaged my firearm during disassembly yesterday and went to see if their gunsmith could help me. I was promptly greeted outside and informed there is a wait list to enter in order to manage social distance guidelines. After a ten minute wait I visited the gun smith. He was able to remove damaged parts and had spare ones available for me to take home and get me on my way. When it came time to settle my tab he let me know that there would be no charge as the spare parts were left over from an upgrade. And for the minor work he was happy to help in these times and said we appreciate your business and for being a member. I am writing this review in hopes it helps keep this business thriving and open in San Antonio so I can continue to enjoying my membership for years to come.
I have been coming here since the first year it opened. Mainly because of the convenience of location to my home. The facility is state of the art and they have plenty of pistol lanes which is sometimes the drawback of many gun ranges. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. The price for lane rental is a little high but it is near my home and fully indoors so I do not have to worry about the weather.
Just wanted to say I had an amazing customer experience at Mission Ridge Range & Academy this week. Special shout out to Caleb and Quin for their excellent customer service and knoweldge. Highly Recommended.
Best place to shoot even for beginners. Very helpful. Rent guns, get ammo... Protection available to buy and rent. Little pricey but worth it. Staff is helpful showing you how to use all guns.
Devin in the archery department was extremely helpful with us! We went in with a broken string on a brand new VXR bow, 5 hours away from home on a deer hunt trip and he took the time to help us in every way possible. Even stayed an hour past closing time (8pm) to make sure our bow was tuned perfectly! Will definitely be back to come shoot the ranges! Big thank you to Devin.
The range officers and instructors are very knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise with us every time we visit. Huge plus! The range desk staff and sales employees have much room for improvement. For example:We’ve confirmed multiple times with employees that as a member we get half off long range. On Tuesday we were told we wouldn’t be given that benefit because it’s “already” half off for non members with concealed license. So because we are members with concealed license we don’t get a “member” benefit? No where on the website does it say that members would not be eligible to get half off the lane fee on any discounted day... EDIT: Mission Ridge acknowledged our feedback very quickly and we sincerely appreciate how much they value their customers both members and non. Thanks Mission Ridge!
My 3rd time shooting at Mission Ridge. Facility is really nice and the staff is always very helpful. Tonight my friend and I were there and she hadn’t used her gun in a while. Ryan - a member of their team - was very helpful and really went above and beyond to make sure she was felt comfortable shooting again. He gave me some pointers, too. I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to offer customer assistance. 5 stars for him, too!
My bridal party and I went to Mission Ridge on Saturday, March 16. We have never shot before and came in with no idea what to expect. From the moment we walked in the staff was incredibly helpful and answered our most ridiculous questions. Gaby at the check in register was detailed, patient, and made us feel comfortable about handling the guns. Once inside, the Ranger Safety Officer consistently went back and forth with our group giving us the basics on loading and aiming. I would definitely recommend this place for making us beginners feel so welcome. Thank you again!
Just got kicked out of the store because I wouldn’t wear a mask. I told them I had a condition where my doctor has advised me to not wear a mask and they told me they did not care and I had to leave anyway. This place is a forearm store, but there is NOTHING patriotic about this establishment. Firearms dealer that doesn’t support the Constitution of the United States?! That sounds very dangerous to me. Will never return.
My favorite place to shoot! The fact that it is an indoor range is a big plus in the Texas heat. Staff is very courteous and helpful and although I have not purchased a firearm from there the have a decent selection of the most popular weapons.Shooting lanes are equipped with automatic target controllers that set targets at a variety of set distances and the facility is very well kept and clean. All in all it is the best facility I have been to in San Antonio.
I had my first instructional lesson at Mission Ridge Range with Andy this week!My main reasoning for taking this class is protection for myself and my family. Andy covered exactly what I needed and more to further continue my progress. . I am extremely satisfied with my time spent at Mission Ridge, and I’m looking forward to returning next week.A big thank you to Andy for going above and beyond to build my confidence and help me with all the questions and concerns I had!Went to Mission Ridge. First time in years since I’ve shot a gun. They offered a “try before you buy”… Which was exactly what I was looking for… I got to try three different guns. Andy assisted and instructed me. So far, Ive gone back 3 times in the last month.. I’m looking forward to taking an actual class there this Thursday! I’ll be back to give a report on how my experience went! Over all, the staff has made me feel comfortable and always helps in every way they can. I got a brand new gun for a good price. The shooting lanes are clean and the environment there is well placed. I’m excited to return!!
Incredibly clean and well kept, friendly and professional staff. Great selection of firearms to purchase and to rent. The range is well kept and clean, and the range officers were very patient and helpful with helping a friend of mine with questions and issues regarding his firearm on the firing line. Will be returning for sure.
What started as a hobby has quickly become a passion, and the staff at Mission Ridge have helped my wife and I every step of the way. They are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly, never pushy and willing to answer any questions we have. Tammy was an amazing instructor for our LTC class and recently Andy from the sales team helped my wife with her shooting technique and also helped her make a more informed decision when purchasing her her carry of choice. His knowledge was second to none and he was willing to take the time and answer any question we had along the way. What we expected to be a quick visit turned into a 2 hour experience and we enjoyed every minute of it. It is experiences like this that keep us coming back to this range often. Tammy and Andy, along with many others there make each experience amazing. They have an amazing inventory of firearms and accessories and it seems that no matter who helps you, they’re focused and able to help every single time.
Ignore the cheapskates complaining about price, the training sessions are worth every penny. Excellent instructions and training to improve your level of skill. Everyone has been super helpful and willing to spend time tweaking my training. Don’t expect to be an expert shot after one session as this stuff requires frequent training. If you want to learn to shot correctly, book a session to get started. I requested to learn how to draw and double tap which requires muscle memory and frequent training. Ive had two seasons with Victor who is fantastic. The first one was total learning and the second 4 weeks later was for tweaking. If you just wanna pretend that you know what you’re doing by blowing holes in paper and wasting ammo, forget all that I have said.
This place is excellent. Great facility. Incredibly nice and knowledgeable staff. The range itself is top of the line with a variety of challenges for shooting. I am just now getting in to shooting and a lot of that is because of the experience i have had at this place.
This place was awesome!!! We will definitely be going out here again. 2 person group we shot 400 rounds in about an hour and 15 mins and they only charged us for the hour it seemed and it was greatly appreciated. Needed to relieve some stress and this place definitely did the trick. Very modern and well kept, super clean. Want to thank the staff for being very professional and also friendly. We had a 45 min wait but it was our first time there and on a busy Sunday it was totally worth the wait. 100 yard range was the best I’ve ever been to in San Antonio!!! Thank you guys and girls for having us we will see y’all soon. Top that they let us pick up our own casings, rapid fire was allowed as long as your not a jackass this place was great. 5 stars all the way bud. Might become a member after today’s experience we will try it again and post another review to keep everyone posted. But 100% had a great time and experience for our first time out.
We went there to look at firearms after the easing of restrictions after the “Stay Home/Work Safe” order. We were met out front and told we had to have masks to enter..we left. I was surprised that a gun shop was restricting freedoms, when so many in the 2A community value their freedoms. I don’t think they have the same values as most within the firearms community.
Let me start by saying I don’t shoot bow nor have had experience shooting bow here. This review is strictly based on handgun. I’ve been to nearly every range in San Antonio, and have been to this one several dozen times. The customer service here is top notch, the type of place you bring your mom to (which I have). I particularly like how they try to orient themselves to every kind of shooter, beginner to experienced. Instructors have given me great advice on handgun and are very competent. I have also found that they employ a wide range of people to help various kinds of shooters. At the very least this academy is the best place for new shooters and offers a wide variety of features to experienced shooters. The price may be a little higher than some places but you certainly get what you pay for here.Features: indoor draw fire, simple to complex target system, eg: moving targets which is good for competitive shooters. Multiple distanced firing ranges, and proactive safety officers/instructors. Virtual shooting.
FANTASTIC facilities and friendly staff but too expensive. I went there knowing that but I live nearby, needed to test fire a pistol quickly, and I wanted to check it out anyway. I walked off the range at 55 minutes in order to pay for one hour ($25). But I had to wait in line 12 or 13 minutes to check out because the two guys checking people in and out were helping customers. That put me over one hour. Apparently they have a five minute grace period but my wait in line put me beyond that, so I was charged for another 15 minute increment. Thats totally unsatisfactory. My issue isnt so much the extra expense but the principle that I got charged money to wait in line.Still if u got the $ to burn, very nice set up. No cease fires to change targets. You run targets to a multitude of different ranges quickly with the automated system. Bonus: indoor so the temp is always perfect. But still...$$$.
I took the long range precision rigle course. Ran by Rob Mills. First time shooting Precision Rifle and I got all the way to 1000 yards. The course was very informative and practical. My instructor Ty, was full of knowledge and experience and guided me the whole time. All the instructors awesome, just a great time on a beautiful piece of property. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get into long range shooting or even experienced shooter looking to fine tune their ability. Thanks again Rob and Mission Ridge. Plus the range on NWmilitary is an amazing facility, with a great selection of guns to purchase and rent.
Yesterday was my first time experiencing something like this and I am very satisfied with everything. I really recommend it, if your wanting to try something new! Carlos was so helpful and patient with us. He helped us on every step while we were shooting!
Jerrod was great he was extremely patient not only when I struggled but also with my daughters and all crazy question. Im so super greatful for your very knowledgeable staff and friendly environment for being a first time shooter. Thank you again
Took my LTC there very professional knowledgeable Instructor. The atmosphere was great and the Sales department were great also very nice facility.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and state of the art facility. Competitive prices with other indoor ranges in other cities. Dont have to use their ammo like on some other ranges.Cons: No private bays for being able to move and shoot. Transition from rifle to handgun was not allowed from what I could tell.
Went to shoot with a buddy and checked in together, he got a lane and 30 min later I was still waiting for one. Ended up going home will full mags. Ill go elsewhere next time.
Show up at 630. Bow guy was trying to make a sale and told us we could shoot for under an. Hour. Had to watch a video. Watched the video and guy at range kept calling us liars saying we didnt watch.
Excellent trauma-oriented medical training from Dave Mendoza. The range is clean and orderly, and the staff are always friendly and professional. The medical training, along with a great range and store, make this a really impressive place.
Superb facility. I shoot here regularly to keep my muscle memory up to speed. Its pricy but you are getting what you pay for because literally every staff member is clearly an expert in firearms, safety, the industry, ammunition, and they even have an on-site gunsmith. You also pay for the awesome service: I was interrupted in the middle of a shooting session by a range master that informed my dad and I that we need to move to a different lane in a different zone, but that our range time would be free. With that kind of policy, I hope I get moved every day at the range. They have all the best guns, they even have full auto assault rifles, submachine guns (MP5 I think), and I dont remember if they had either a M249 light machine gun or what but they had a wall of lead sprayer for rent. Obviously you are gonna spend more time getting on the range and loaded up to shoot than actually firing the weapon because... Ammo isjt free like in back in the military and its gonna be gone in a couple of minutes. I doubt they would let people take 1000 rounds in there anyway because most untrained shooters would heat up the gun too much, damage the barrel, or God forbid have a high temp jam and cook-off (gun explodes). Anyway its awesome they have so many options. If I was rich I would move across the street and spend all day there
I walked in today shooting okay. My grouping was decent, but I was pulling left. I walked out with the center of my target missing. Great instruction and customer service from Andy! Completely changed the way I shoot. I will definitely be returning, now that I am a member.
Gerard Nickel was my instructor for a private handgun lesson. Very satisfied w/ every penny spent for the instruction. I would HIGHLY recommend going to him for any lesson he teaches (beginner, intermediate, or advanced). Matt helped me out as well w/ some fantastic customer service over the phone. Will likely go through this location for the LTC course. Some reviews knock the prices here but you generally get what you pay for and the value I found there today was well worth it.
I would not recommend this place to buy guns. They sell at full MSRP. I would recommend anyone that is in the market to buy a firearm to either go to one of the family owned shops in San Antonio or go online where they will work on and a great price for you for a new firearm and same quality that Mission range will also sell
Possibly one of the nicest gun / archery shops in existence. Ive been to a lot of them and consider myself a semi-gun nut....to an extent. The quality of displays, the quality of guns, and the facility itself is top notch. Where else would you find a 100 yard INDOOR range for rifle shooting. Im getting my Kimber .308 set up for an upcoming Alaska hunt and this is a great way to punch paper to get it zeroed in. They also tease you with access to a 1000 yard range through their affiliation with a local ranch. That would be cool to see!
Really great place. Gabby help us get everything we need and the safety instructors are very thorough when answering any questions you may have. Amazing place to shoot
Outstanding facility. The most friendly and helpful staff I have ever come across. No judgment and always willing to help. Great prices and selection. This is for sure my go to place for archery, guns, ammo and shooting. I wish your business and staff nothing but the best for your future.
Everyone here is super helpful and super nice! Best range in town for both buying or shooting!
Rangels & range masters were awesome. HOWEVER - the check in & out person we dealt with was rude & insulting to my son. My son is a 100% combat disabled vet & even after my son gave him his ID to get a measly ten percent discount he told my son we dont give discounts to dependents. I wont ever go back. 🤬
Great facility and the staff is very helpful. I’ve shot here multiple times at both 100yd and 25yd ranges and visit often to just browse their goods and never feel pressured. I’ve purchased a few firearms here as well as had FFL transfers from online purchases done through MRRA without any issues, always a smooth transaction! They have cool events every so often and I enjoy when they setup the carnival-style steel plate targets. The 50% off range fee discount on Tuesdays for LTC holders is a good deal that I try to take advantage of to save some bucks.
If youre new to shooting, rusty, or just trying to figure out what gun suits you best, I dont think youll find a better place than this.My friend had never held a gun in his life, but decided it was time to get a handgun for home protection. We were assisted by Gerard, who helped him pick out a few guns to shoot with their try 3 for $15 deal. Gerard walked him through everything step by step, even preparing him for the recoil, and giving pointers on technique/stance between shots.I ended up trying some crazy guns I hadnt even seen before, and have been improving my accuracy with the advice I received.
I am not new to the shooting world but any time you go to a new gun range can be a bit off putting as I have been to some that are less than stellar with there customer experience. As I walked in to Mission Ridge first thing I noticed was how many people were working at the range and how easy it was to get help. After two visits I signed up for there membership and it is worth every penny. I now have gone from a shooter that went to the range 2 of 3 times a year and now go 2 or three times aweek. I have zero complaints and most of all I now have my place to shoot.
Excited this range is now open. Great location. Great facilities. Pistol, rifle, and bow rentals available. Staff was awesome and attentive. Range gunsmith ready on hand to help with any issues. We will definitely be back.
Amazing facility and even better customer service. Evan was phenomenal to me and my wife. Not one bad thing to say about this range. Definitely check it out if you haven’t!
I just completed a corporate training event in one of the spacious classrooms available followed by some time in the training simulator and range time for a group of employees. The MRRA staff member that was assigned to helping us through every step was phenomenal. Through a three part reservation and training new shooters, Paul went out of his way to make sure everybody was comfortable and ready to enter the live fire range. As a result, everyone had a fantastic time shooting, including somebody who had never even held a gun before.Thank you Paul and the MRRA staff.
As a guy who has shot a rifle maybe twice and most recently 40 years ago I was encouraged by my wife to do as Texans do while visiting San Antonio. From entering the door I was struck by the professionalism of all employees. The girl who greeted me described the process and guided me to the safety video. After then signing in (including a waiver) I was guided through firearm selection suitable to my desire. Safety procedures were clearly in the forefront of everyone’s minds. I was instructed by a range professional who made sure I was comfortable before firing the rifle.I was able to choose my target distance and help was never far away when requested. Overall an exhilarating experience for this novice who had a lot of intrepidation.Hats off to Mission Ridge Range I would love to return and also highly recommend
I had come with a friend earlier to shoot pistols, but it was an hour before closing so we decided against it and only registered our info. Came back here on 4/5/19 by myself, it wasnt busy at all according to their parking lot, google maps, and amount of people inside. Was told thered be a short wait for the 100 yard rifle range and that the person attending me would let me know when a spot opens up. I said sure Ill wait. Sat down for like 45 minutes, and eventually decided to leave. Lo and behold a lane opened up 5 minutes ago even though no one but staff walked to and from the 100 yd range. Honestly think I was forgotten about. Also apparently a short wait is about an hour long.Edit: came back 2 weeks later for pistols. Had a great time. Only bumped it up to 3 for now.
Nice range. Very clean with a ton of merchandise! I could spend hours in there. Only downside is that they are pretty expensive if youre not a member. Courteous and professional staff
I love Mission Ridge. It’s such a safe and knowledgeable environment. I bought my very first gun here thanks to Quin R. Will be coming here I the future!
