I got pierced by Frankie a few months ago, and the whole experience was perfect! From the booking process (super easy) the shop is very clean and sanitized, great jewelry selection, they required face masks which is a plus in my books and mostly Frankie herself. She’s extremely patient ( I ask a lot of questions) knowledge and has a great hand for piercing she’s gentle and fast! Lol my conch and tragus healed fast with minimal pain I would 100% be going back for more and I recommend this shop/Frankie for anyone looking in the San Antonio area.

I got my first ever piercing (earlobes) at Platinum Tattoos and Piercings. I was immediately helped and welcomed when I walked in, and the staff required all guests to wear masks and wash their hands when they walked in, so I felt confident about how clean everything was. I had a prior appointment and after filling out short paperwork, I was seen within 20 minutes. The piercer, Noah, was amazing. I was nervous but the piercing itself went by so quickly and with minimal pain. He marked the placement and made sure I was happy with everything before doing the piercing, and was patient with any questions I had. All the tools were clean and sterile. I definitely plan on coming back for a second lobe piercing and would recommend Platinum to anyone else.

“Canada” was my tattoo artist for this amazing piece. And I can honestly say I’ll be back with him for some more! He’s so easy to talk to (which is important when you’re getting inked for hours lol) He also designed this piece after just telling him what I’m looking for and he did this all remotely as well! Very clean place and spacious after you sign in and go sit in the waiting area. Once inside, they make sure you have a mask, ask what youre looking for, and fill out some paperwork. They also have you wash your hands as well to make sure everything and everyone stays relatively safe, which I very much appreciate.The wait time took forever to do one piercing, since for piercings theyre walk ins and dont take appointments, and they can get pretty busy in the afternoon on the weekends. But overall it was a nice and clean experience.Regardless, rather wait hours here than have a horrible experience and injury(AGAIN) at Claires since they have little to no knowledge on doing and carrying for piercings.

I had a very mixed experience. I came with my sister for walk-in piercings and tattoos. Most (but not all) of the staff was friendly and helpful, but they told us we would wait for less than an hour and we waited over 2 hours.Mingo, the piercer, was INSANELY RUDE and so unsympathetic to my sister feeling nervous about her piercing. He was super short with us, never made eye contact, and acted inconvenienced by every question we had. I even calmly requested that he slow down, talk her through the process, and be a little kinder and more patient with her, and he was snippy in his response and avoided eye contact the whole time and never once apologized for his rudeness. We ended up walking out and going to a female piercer at the other location and she was so much nicer/more helpful.Axel, our tattoo artist, was absolutely AMAZING!! He took longer than other tattoo artists Ive had, but it was so worth it because this is by far the cleanest/most precise tattoo Ive ever gotten. I highly recommend him!!! If I lived in San Antonio, he would absolutely be my go-to artist.

Honestly, if i could leave more than 5 stars i would! Canada is an amazing artist, every tattoo he’s done for me has been exactly what i wanted & more. He’s very fun and easy to talk to. I will definitely be coming back to get more tattoos from him! As for piercings, Ive been getting them done by Mingo since i was 16. I love how nice everyone is there, the environment is very welcoming. Everything i’ve gotten from platinum has never disappointed me.

Just got my 5 year old daughters ears pierced! Noah was awesome! The rest of the crew was super cool too! This place is very clean. As we were leaving the other customers cheered for my daughter!

My wife and I went to platinum tats and it had been my first time there. Noah did a great job on our piercings and feel no pain at all to this day. It was the best and most professional tattoo/piercing experience for me so far.

This shop is very nice and they were making sure everyone had their hands washed before doing anything in the building. The wait wasn’t that long and the employees were very nice to us. I don’t like how they make you pay and tip upfront. My piercing looks ok but my piercer did not disinfect my nose or clean the area in any way. He also smelled really bad like he hadn’t showered in days. He also looked like he had poor hygiene. I had to HOLD MY BREATH when I was in his room. He needs to have a better professional image. I don’t remember his name but he was a heavier guy. He also didn’t tell me my gauge size after my piercing. They looked very unorganized and they were constantly picking at their face and masks without washing their hands Or using hand sanitizer.

My piercer was nice and polite. My septum has healed nicely and I’m pleased with it. The only thing I wasnt happy with is that they made me tip before getting the actual piercing, and as a place id never been to before, this was not a positive.

The team at Platinum is awesome! Crazy busy on a Saturday, as it took about 9 hours from walking in to leaving for the design below, but well worth it! They took my vision and drew it until I was satisfied. Per their recommendation, I opted for color and Im glad I did!I will be back, but perhaps not on the weekend ;)

After numerous conversations to make appointments for several clients the contact at this location totally screwed up the appt. Clients were scheduled with out notice and at times where specified that the clients were unavailable. Communication was terrible. Artist doesnt speak English so it was hard to communicate what was requested.. Ive been to this location for several tats...and never has the service sucked this bad. Time to move on from this place.

I had contacted the shop in early June to discuss adding to some of my tattoos. I spoke to a representative and we talked back and forth about some of my ideas. I did mention that I was open to suggestions and working with a black and grey artist. I was hoping that together we could get some ideas that would look good. The customer service in these interactions was great and I was put at ease. Unfortunately things took a turn. I was asked to send pictures of the tattoos so the artist could see them. It took pretty much the whole day to get a response but the response was still courteous and gave an apology and stated the shop was very busy. I was understanding of this and still had high hopes. Unfortunately 2 weeks went by and I heard nothing back. After the 2 week mark I reached out to the shop again and asked if the artist had a chance to look at the tattoos and see if they could work with me. I never received another response. It’s been about a month now and no one has contacted me. I was very excited to work with this shop and I am very disappointed this is how my interaction ended. I cannot give a one star review because the customer service I did receive was very good in the times we spoke. But I was essentially ghosted and that I feel is unprofessional.

Okay this place was amazing; from the receptionist who took our info to Noah who pierced my 6 months old baby girl’s ears. Noah is beyond amazing with kiddos; he was calm and composed and dealt with her in such a kind manner. He also pierced my nose and my cartilage. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat for kiddos getting their first piercings and I would definitely come back for Noah. Also his daughters were super duper cool and loving toward my 2.5 year old and my baby girl. Thank you for the experience and God bless you Noah. Btw the place was clean and everyone washed their hands so I felt safe having my kiddos with me especially during this COVID season.

Some places are intimidating and the piercers can be rude but not her! She was very inviting and she made the whole experience so easy to go through! This place is so nice too love it! My appointment was at 2pm, got my piercing at 3pm which was my only issue here. In the waiting area they had avatar the last air bender on with captions on and the volume loud enough to hear which I though was fun since I had to wait an hour. My daughter and I came in for piercings and were greeted by a friendly staff and immediately noticed a clean business! Joey ended up doing our piercings and she did awesome! My daughter was a little nervous but she walked her through everything and did an amazing job! Definitely coming back for another piercing with Joey!!

Everything was great up until i actually got pierced. (i’ve been pierced so so so many times. so this isn’t my first time around the block or anything.) Mingo was very rude and made me very uncomfortable. when i got to the car, one of my healed piercings that i had asked him to change out had fallen out despite me not touching it. i came back in and when he put it back in he was very rough and hurt me despite the site being a fully healed piercing.everyone else was super sweet and helpful, the place is beautiful and clean but i left almost in tears because of how disrespectful he was. i don’t mean to be a brat or anything about this. he’s a talented piercer but he needs to work on making customers feel comfortable. i still tipped 30% and i want to come back but never to be pierced by him again. i hope management does something about this

Waited over 4 hours for my first tattoo then when I can back for my second they stood me up twice. Waited for 1-2 hours both times before getting annoyed and walking out. Very unprofessional with keeping Customers up to date. They just pass you around like they don’t care. Very overpriced for simple tattoos. Do not recommend this place at all.

Ever since I moved here, any time I need to change my piercings or I want a new one I come here because they are very efficient and extremely helpful 🤩 Mingo has done my nose piercing and has switched my daith piercings twice! I always leave very pleased, I’ve never had a bad experience; even on their super busy nights they’re great!

I’ve gotten two piercings from here and I can just tell you my experience here has been terrible. The piercer Mingo is so rude and unprofessional I got my septum pierced and nostril on the same day. He didn’t let me look at the placement or anything he just stuck the needle through. And when I requested for a hypoallergenic metal he didn’t even respond and just shook his head. I ended up having an allergic reaaction! Then a few months ago I went back for my belly button piercing. He then told me that the piercing wouldn’t look good on my body type. I still got the piercing however once again I asked for hypoallergenic metal and yet again my piercing rejected and I now have a hideous scar on my stomach. I love this place and I love the vibes but I think it’s time to find a new piercer!

My god- son told me a disturbing story. He had gone to platinum tattoos for a piercing in his 👃 nose. Well, the male who was way over weight just was rude. At one point even saying, if I move; Ill break your nose. ( I dought he was joking. Since he did not chuckle. And I did not find that all funny.) Then, the job was done and he paid the man or store. Im not ever taking him or recommending this place to anyone. Totally unprofessional.👿. Thanks for the experience; see you never. 👎

Mingo did great with my helix piercing! Professional and clean. Pierced exactly where I wanted it. If youre not sure where you want it, hell put a dot on your ear so you can see if youll like it there. Prices are reasonable. Helix is $30 minimum. Includes earing and service. If you want a jewelry upgrade it ranges from $16 - 21 (additional). They also offer a military discount.

The piercer i was scheduled with went to lunch at my appointment time but Noah was able to pierce quickly and with as little pain as possible. I am very happy with how my piercing turned out

For it being my very first time there, it wasn’t a good experience. I called ahead of time, Confirmed if they did the piercings I wanted… Arrived, covid precautions are on point, but they lack communication. I waited 30minutes after arriving, did the paperwork to get my piercings done, just for them to tell me the piercer isn’t doing any more piercings that they could reschedule me for an appointment the next day? This was after the fact that they made me fill out paperwork & took a copy of my ID. What a waste of time. they apologized, but they could of told me on the phone or simply at the door when I arrived.. that’s unprofessional. Especially if I was in the clear to be there before the cut off time. LAME. number one rule when running a business, you don’t turn money (business) away. No big deal though, I called up Absolute Tattoos down the street from them located at 3505 Wurbach Rd. & they granted my wishes.✨

I got 3 ear piercings all near each other on the lobe a few weeks ago. Two of the three piercings have gone through my ear completely without being taken apart! I went to a different piercing place and they informed me the piercing tops used were way to small for a first piercing with the swelling. I spent hundreds of dollars here and left a large tip. I am very disappointed. Platinum if you wanna make this right please contact me. Not happy

I have got 2 piercings here. The first one was my lip the girl that did it was wonderful but.. I got my tongue pierced a few months ago the guy didn’t talk to me really about anything. Like about placement or if I wanted it angled or straight or even dotted it to see if that was fine, nothing. He put it way more back then I wanted it and I didn’t really want it slanted either. It’s started to tear in the front and I kinda hate it. I dont remember his name but he was awful..

This location was recommended thru a friend that I run with. Im very selective when it comes to piercings so it was essential for me to know they practiced excellent work and being clean. This place did not disappoint. Noah, the owner was friendly, professional, and was able to assist me with aligning my new piercings. The process was super quick👌🏽 no pain.The process due to COVID is handled well. MASKS REQUIRED REGARDLESS OF BEING VACCINATED, which I appreciate. As soon as you enter you are required to complete a waiver form and provide ID. They make you wash your hands.Cons:- waiting time was more than 45min.- waiting area inside is very tiny, it got so full, people were outside waitingWish they had more earrings at their store. They have a small display of earrings.There were T.V. screens where you see their artists displaying people getting tattoos.

Most of these bad reviews are about the piercer Mingo. If you go here just dont get any piercings done by him and you should be happy. He was extremely unprofessional and just needs to find another shop. Ruining this places rep imo. Ive had three friends come to me and complain about piecing from him and there are clearly more in the comments.. and more that have been deleted 😂. Maybe if more people spoke up to the store owner about him something would be done, but why bother when there are so many other places to give business to in a city like San Antonio. In this shops defense they do have some extremely talented artists ect. Good business, good people. Just a bad employee.

This place awesome! Have been there multiple times to get tattoos and every time they’ve done an incredible job. My latest Piece was a manga Tattoo done by Mena. He was very helpful when asking about what I wanted done and explained to me all the stuff he was able to put into my tattoo. Definitely will go back to get more from him. The Two Jessie’s and Nancy were very helpful and attentive to me and everyone even though it was extremely busy. They are one of the very few shops that take walk ins and are well known in San Antonio so don’t expect to be in and out quickly but they are very clean, safe, and do there services properly. 10/10

This shop was very clean and very busy! In my opinion they were as fast as they could be considering the amount of business they had. My piercer was very nice, and my piercings were very quick and painless! I brought my own conch piercing, but did see the selection they had for my tragus and they had beautiful jewelry to choose from.

So I came in as a walk in, and clearly this place is popping with business. So I had to wait for about an hour 40 until there was a gap in appointments. So please get an appointment so you wont be standing in a waiting room for x amount of hours..Staff was nice and diligent, even very transparent with wait times and respectful to those patrons who werent. My issue is that I got a navel piercing. From the only piercer in the store. This is what took forever. He was sweet and talkative, but the piercing was made too deep. I dunno if it was due to lack of practice because they arent very popular in this area, but Im pretty disappointed. ((Navel piercings should have a bit of the post visible at all times, unlike mine)) Because of this mistake, I have to either be careful with what rings I wear, or just never wear one.

Noah (the owner) was INCREDIBLE!!!! He pierced my Rook and 3rd lobe less than a minute ago and I just had to get on Google to tell everyone how great he was. He immediately calmed my nerves by a thousand by starting a conversation about life, my interests, college, etc. He’s so light-handed when piercing, he’s very professional and knowledgeable about tattoos and piercings and even discussed with me alternative ways to fix my tattoo from over 3 years ago! After he pierced my ears, he gave a very thorough run down of the aftercare step-by-step. I’ll trust this man with ALL my piercings from here on out!

The guy who did my piercings was rough and in a rush after he did my lip piercing i mentioned my lip felt really tight and i wasn’t sure it had room to swell he said i’d be fine. 2 days later my lip completely swelled over the piercing digging into my lip, i was bruising and my lip was changing colors, i went in today Mingo took care of me and was very gentle i was in so much pain he replaced the piercing for one with a longer bar and i feel sooo much better!! thanks Mingo 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I got my nipples pierced by Noah, he was very professional and the pain was minimal. It has been 2 days and the pain is completely gone, I absolutely loved them. They have a very strict health policy which is wonderful, everyone is required to wear masks whether you are vaccinated or not, as you enter they check everyones temperature and everyone is required to wash their hands.

The studs used were so small the front got shoved back into two (two different kids) of three childrens ears. I called, and they made it clear they could help if I paid them more. It was far enough back it bled a lot when I pushed it out. It healed in such a way it was hard to get earings in, and my daughter let them grow in. She spent her money on earings and is very disappointed, and never wants a pricing again after waiting years for it.

Girl doing the intake was rude. Girl if you got problems leave them at home. Didnt even get pierced due to her attitude. If youre gonna be rude to a PAYING customer then ill gladly take my service elsewhere.

My wife got this amazing tattoo done by Jordan yesterday! He was very nice and great to work with. He was amazing for coming in on his day off and working after hours to finish her tattoo! There is some great detail work in it and the design was all done by him! He free handed the design in pen before adding ink.

Took my niece for her first piercing and was disappointed with the overall experience. The girl who helped with the paperwork and indoor environment was super nice but the man who did my nieces piercing did not inform us about maintenance, we felt rushed, he didn’t acknowledge our thank you’s… it was a poor customer experience.

This place was very clean and did follow Covid restrictions. But they were not friendly the girl doing my paperwork was weird and not nice the other guy in the front had an attitude the whole time. And to top it of the guy who does the piercings was very rude and not friendly at all. I went in nervous but I kept my cool because I was getting my septum pierced. When I walked in I said hi to him very nicely and he barely said hi back, he didn’t explain anything to me while he was going to pierce me he just shoved the piercing tools into my nose right away without any warning. The piercing room smelled so bad it was disgusting. And when I was done with my piercing he didn’t even tell me how to clean it. Not a good experience and no one was friendly I definitely am not going back it wasn’t worth the time or money I spent there. I love the piercing but other than that this place is not it.

I had EXCELLENT service at Platinum. I got 2 dermal and I absolutely love them. I will be back. I only waited about 15 minutes, which was understandable because I went during COVID and they were busy. My friend got a Christina and she loves her piercing also. I received more than enough information on how to care for the piercing and as I stated before. Ill be back.

Everyone was super friendly when I went in to get a double helix piercing. It was super fast and the prices are great. Inside of the shop was super clean and nice. The piercer and other people there made us feel comfortable and like we’ve known each other for years. 10/10 recommend!
