Went for their tea service and had a lovely time with my family. Fun atmosphere and good food. Took the rye bread loaf home and was delicious.

I threw my best friend a baby shower all the way from CA. We paid for the tea party and The bread box made it so easy. I had no idea what to expect and I was blown away by their set up and decor. The food and service were amazing, the girls working there are so kind, and it was such a fun experience. I wish I didn’t live so far away so I could come back. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun place to have a party with little need for added decor and great service, this is definitely the place for you.

I absolutely loved this place for brunch. Needed a mental health from COVID day out. I am so glad they were finally open for dining. Sitting outside was very peaceful and pleasant. I had the scrambled egg, bacon on English muffin. And latte. Yummy. Pleasantly surprised that there were boutique shops there as well. Made for a pleasant morning. I think it’s called the attic alley or the alley near the San Antonio international airport. Worth the time to dine and spend a quiet dayExploring the boutique shops. Loved it loved it loved it!

3rd time I order from them.. cakes are always delicious and they have excellent customer service.. will keep ordering from them!

Went to The Bread Box on a recommendation from a co-worker. Definitely a good pick. The room our party of 10 got put in fit us all, was a bit cozy and really only fit us, nobody else. The place wasnt overly crowded, but still had many people in there; could feel crowded to some. I ordered the Best Reuben, which was an interesting and delightful twist on the standard Reuben. The only thing I would say is a negative is that because of its placement as a shop inside a villa/alley, there is one restroom that services the entire area, and it is not kept up well at all. Was not a good visit to the restroom. Service was prompt and food came out pretty quickly. We received water refills at least twice during our 35 minutes of eating. Our checks were brought out shortly after that and we went to the front to pay. I opted for a to-go dessert of whoopie pie, which was very rich and very tasty. Overall a great experience.

Was looking forward to getting a cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. Website ordering said max 1 day for dine in which I thought mean pick up in the store since the other option was curbside. Decided to call to order but was told they were closed for more orders and that I could have ordered ages ago. I would have if the website would have offered more information. I was hung up on when I expressed how disappointing it was. I understand that they are short staffed but hanging up on a potential customer is immature and does not reflect well on the business. I have tried their Apple pie and it was very good. Their pictures look great and they have received other great reviews. However if hanging up on a customer is acceptable to them then it concerns me that their lack of professionalism extends beyond customer service.

First time here. The pulled pork was really good and the others seemed to enjoy their meals too. Cozy place and service was great. Was a little pricey but the quality was good IMHO.

Had a late lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the easiest way to describe how good it was is to say that its the type of sandwich you end up craving. I also had the bread pudding and it was sooooo good!The person I was dining with had the burger and deep dish apple pie ala mode and from what they said it was just as yummy as what I had!Ill definitely be back and would happily recommend to others! The price was reasonable, the restaurant itself was very clean and had a lovely calming artsy ambience to it without being pretentious. The server was very attentive & knowledgeable of all the items on the menu as well which I thought was wonderful!(Only took pics of the desserts because my brain stopped functioning when the main dishes came out - whoops!)

Lovely cafe with delicious food, desserts, and impeccable service! Diane was the event coordinator for the bridal shower held and took such great care of us. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Also, I recommend the Patty Melt, you wont be disappointed.

Fabulous outside area. Good foods for breaks and great sandwiches I had the chicken bacon ranch. Various deserts. Its in a nice little village area with small shops next to a paint your own painting shop. Excellent time and we would like to return some time.

Sadly Disappointed. We visited this past Wednesday morning and were told that they were closed for cleaning/updating? I looked for the generous display cases that are seen on the google site photos, but nothing at all like are shown. I asked, am I in the right area of the shop to see the display? And the receptionist gal said, yes, this is it. I know, I know, these are unusual times, but it was strange to see a room full of guys in the kitchen, other staff out front, but not at all set up to receive customers.May I add - - I think this establishment has gone through a lot because of the covid crisis. Lets give these businesses a break. My one star is not fair under the circumstances. I will return after this crazy chapter in our lives passes.

We went on a Saturday morning and the add on her website says walk ins welcome. Is not true please change your add for people like me and my kids, they were so excited and we went back home because they told me that i need reservation.

The staff was nice. Location is quaint and tucked away. But I would stay away from the lemon square. Its the only dessert I tried so cant comment on the rest.

We ordered curb side today for lunch. The chicken bacon sandwich was the best I have ever had. The chocolate ice box pie and the cherry cheesecake pie was sooo incredibly delicious. Plus, the lady who took my order heard that I have 2 kids and added 2 decorated sugar cookies for them. She was so sweet. Thank you for a great experience. We will definitely order again.

The process of ordering and picking up the cake was seamless. It was quick, and they provided great customer service. Picked up a cake for my sons birthday, and it was beautiful!! It was also sooooo delicious!!

I have never had a bad meal here. Their menu is always fresh, full of flavor and inspired by the seasons. The baked goods are Phenomenal as well. I can’t recommend them enough.

Delicious food! This place is so cozy. Great place to casually wake up with a great cup of coffee. The food was amazing! Every bite was sinfully good. We came for breakfast but the lunch choice looked equally pleasing. Friendly vibe. Save room for dessert especially the cake and brownies!

This place is excellent, but it seems like the value for food is going down. Im more reviewing the only dish Ive ever ordered there. After all, the menu is relatively simple. After Snooze had an 1 hr wait I said, Lets go to Bread Box--its my favorite french toast in town. Well, the 4th time I went for the french toast the portions were roughly half what they were the first 3 times I ordered it. This was true for both myself and another person with me. It used to be a mini loaf of awesomeness, but this time it was like 2 thick french toast sticks from the freezer section at HEB...but for 9 bucks without anything but some grapes and pineapple (No eggs, meat, hash browns so I ordered a medium sized croissant for $4 extra). The portion was also significantly less than other plates in our party. It was not only smaller but cooled much more quickly, as well, since it was smaller french toast sticks instead of loaf shaped. I asked about if portions had grown smaller but they said its just how they slice it differently sometimes but its the same portion. So maybe Ive grown, but unfortunately this is no longer my french toast spot.

I have visited The Bread Box over a dozen times since they first opened. I considered it one of my favorite local restaurants and referred many ladies to dine there. The food and service had been excellent and consistent. In the past six months the menu has changed, the food is more expensive with smaller portions, and the service is average. It saddens me that the feel of this quaint gem have faded.

Love this place. The brunch was so good. I had the Roman brunch pizza and it was a huge portion. I can tell the eggs are super fresh. Cupcakes were amazing. Service was great. HIGHLY recommend this place

We came about 15 minutes to closing. We were still treated nicely & the food was VERY good. The patty melt was made with mostly grass fed Wagyu beef 🥩. The taste & quality was exceptional. My mom could not stop talking about how good the wheat seed bread was. The location is hidden but I recommend finding this place as fast as you can.

We loved the food @BBX from our first visit. Now we are regulars and eat there every chance we get. The menu selections are wonderful and the specials are tasty too! Weekend brunch is amazing. The burgers are terrific. Waitstaff are friendly and quick to help. Make sure you check out the pies and bakery case.Highly Recommended. Bring your friends!

So, listen. I want to keep this place a secret but the food is so tasty that it is impossible to not talk it up. Their BLT salad is out of this world, their desserts are to die for, and their cold brew coffee is off the chain.The Alley has some great memories from my childhood, and to reconnect with that piece of my life while eating an outstanding meal on a cozy patio just...feels like home.

Went with my daughter recently... we both loved it. The Spinach quiche was buttery and flaky. Her avocado toast was pleasing to the eye and tummy! Outdoor seating was great on a cool breezy morning... she already wants to go back!

One of my favorite places to go for lunch. They have amazing new specials every week so you can always try something new. The staff are all incredibly friendly and on top of everything. The only down side is that theyve made so many amazing dishes that I wish I could eat again and again, but the specials are only there for one week.

Our first time in, but definitely wont be the last! We had the burger, which was yummy with, as you should expect, a tasty bun. But the biggest surprise, and my favorite part, was the beet Reuben. Yes, I said beet, that wasnt an autocorrect error. The sandwich was awesome! Service was great, everyone super friendly. Were taking some pastries home, they look delicious and based on lunch, I feel sure they are wonderful.

Their muffin was great last 3 years. When i tried regular blueberry muffins today, i was shocked. Usual blueberry muffin has great butter smell and taste. However, it taste like generic flour and oil. I can tell this place now uses less butter to save money. I am highly disappointed. I am ashamed for recommending this place to my friends last 3 years.

The food was supberb. The service was fantastic. Thee only complaint I have is the confusion with them having several entrances to thee establishment. Im not sure if it a fire code issue, but they need to put signs for patrons to enter the front entrance as to be seated properly.

I went there a second time because I thought the food and service was awesome the first time. I think the Bread Box is suffering from growing pains - too many customers, not enough kitchen staff to keep up. Our food was half raw. I will wait until things settle down before I go back. They are bound to lose some customers who are disappointed as I was.

I bought 24 brioche rolls for a company hamburger roast after reading reviews. They were FABULOUS! Best Ive ever had as a bun/roll. The service over the phone was superior and they worked hard to make me happy. Looking forward to dining in.

I try the special almost every time and its always a blast to see what cool flavor combo they come up with. If you are a coffee drinker, grab some biscotti to go.Also the blueberry muffin. Youll never forgive yourself if you dont try it. They have a rewards app too and it pumps out a free muffin after just a couple entrees so its free anyway, eat it!

I went here after passing it by everyday at work. Its a little confusing to get to due to the layout of the property.. but it is worth the trouble!I ordered their Bread Box burger and every bite was savory. All the ingredients were fresh you could hear the lettuce snap and crunch with every bite.Staff was very friendly. Went over the menu and offerings very well. Upon leaving I grabbed some fresh baked desserts.

Yuck! Bad location, bad food served cold when it should have been hot. The waitress was talking with our food in her hand. She should not be talking to near table to strangers with our food in her hand. Handicapped unfriendly with stairs to clime. Parking lot beat up, hard to walk. Dirty table with scape of food and debri. My jeans become so dirty sitting at their table. Too pricey for what they serve, limited menu selections for a place the claims to be vegetarian friendly. They said try us again, as we paid and walked out. We will not be returning. The baked foods looked great but they are not. The bread look soft however, it is not. The Bread Box bread flew out of its bad when we came home. The salad was wilted and rancid, food was not hot and their bakery looked good although hard as a rock. Bad food and salad, not handicapped ready, location was crazy, bad parking lot. Not vegetarian friendly as they claim, cold food when needed to be hot, the bakery looks good but it is not. Everything looks soft but hard as a rock. The flatware was dirty, the tables and seats were a mess. If I was smart we should have walked out.

We were there as they opened for breakfast on a Saturday. It was not crowded, the service was fast, knowlegable, and curteous. We enjoyed the French toast made from bread pudding that was to die for and a side of bacon that was done exactly to our specifications. The coffee was fresh and hot. I am as real and friendly as they come. I do not often write a review simply because I do not think about it, but this one is personal and important.The service was okay, cordial but impersonal. We were there for Mothers Day for a brunch and I had made reservations. Though I made reservations for four, we had to wait, and we ended up sitting at a table for two. Ten minutes passed by before they got us a highchair. They eventually offered a bigger table but it is difficukt to get kids resettled so we declined. My wife ordered the eggs benedict along with a slice of apple pie and I had the eggs commodore both of which were good but nothing to write home about.While we waited we had our two little ones ages 3 and 1. They were having a hard time staying calm so we wanted to eat outside, but the restaurant would not allow us though it was empty outside and the wait was now going 45 minutes. While waiting I stepped in a pad of butter that was under our table from a previous guest and it got everywhere.So we finally made the decision to get our food to go so I could take the kids outside for my wife and then once we received our food we are outside (with no to go silverware). It was this level of impersonal care (along with the mediocre food) that we will never on Gods green earth return to the Bread Box. In this day in age, where most places are family friendly and on top of the fact that it was Mothers Day, I was amazed they could not understand why we needed to sit outside.The food: good portion and good price point, but the English Muffin needed toasted longer. Because of it being undertoasted, the overall texture of the egg and bread was soft and gummy. Not the best experience in my opinion.Best to you.

Fantastic! The King Ranch Casserole was the special of the day. A menagerie of flavors to delight the palate and the chicken was chunky (not the sparse shredded chicken too commonly used around town), pairing with such beautiful and intentional atmosphere made this experience exceptional. My family will most certainly return often!

At first it was a good place to eat but recent few visits turned us off completely. Ordered 3 glasses of water with the slice of lemon - received just plain water and no citrus. An order of a side salad came with the rock hard bread with the moldy taste (when I broke the roll it started crumbling and had a very strong odor of still bread). An order of a vegetable soup came too spicy though I asked prior to order about the heat level and was assure that its a very plain soup. Peas soup was over salted (probably stayed for a awhile and became concentrated). The salad supposed to come with the cheese slices however 2 small pieces of cheese look so unattractive like someone didnt know to use the knife to slice and just chopped 2 tiny pieces for the mouse trap, the bacon was not evenly cooked. Ordered a slice of an apple pie as to-go and needed to put it in the oven since it was under baked. The wait staff is very disorganized from taking the beverage order to bring food items to the correct persons.

I love this place. Everything so fresh and the service is fruendly, the food delicious. Really, I just want to respond to Linas one star review and all of those wannabe food critics of Yelp and Google. I wonder why you did not immediatly share your initial experience of how much you liked their food? Instead, you waited until you had a poor experience to post a review. Perhaps you are one of those people that only talks about the bad experiences instead of the good ones. Maybe you should remedy that. It might make you a happier person. Everybody has off days.

This place is amazing! The menu is not big, but trust when I say the food that is on the menu is delecious!! Every bite of it! So I did not mind at all that the menu was not overloaded, it showed that what they do serve is mastered. The snicker doodle desert was out of this world! The salad with blood orange dressing was delecious and the turkey sandwich was the best Ive ever had
