Extremely rude staff, who view patrons only as revenue, not people. It is their right, I do not dispute this about capitalism. For every visit I made, I have patronised them, tipped them, and bought their silly expensive coffees. However, after my last experience where they ordered us to buy something then and there--or leave--I left without spending another cent, feeling insulted by the mention of this, insulted by how they have treated long term customers, as if we were estranged encroaching aliens, not loyal regular paying customers. I have never had a coffee shop ever do this to me and I cannot see why they felt the need to rush us to a purchase, that we have always made, and have been counted on to make. So because of this disrespect, this malfeasance of customer service, this reduction from value as people into merely profits, I will take my business elsewhere. I will never recommend Indy Coffee to serve my friends or anyone else again, in any capacity. I will never support their coffees, their staff, or their mission as a business. Obvious moral of the story: dont ever treat people as if they are merely transactional, especially if they are your customers and lifeblood. Jokes on you, Indy Coffee.
The coffee was good, but they have no half and half and no cream. I like a little half and half in my coffee. Ive never been to a coffee shop that doesnt offer it. They claim they never have it. They gave me lactose-free whole milk. They said thats all they carry. I also found the employee to be a bit pretentious. The coffee was overpriced as well. I wont go back here.
The best coffee and my favorite place to get an Americano - hot and iced! The shop is a vibe you have to experience for yourself. While it may be temporarily closed for indoor seating, you may order inside to go, but it’s always best to order online ahead of time for ease.I really admire how they’ve handled COVID and take all the right precautions to keep their customers safe. This business really cares about their clients.
Super solid coffee shop. It was recommended to me by a couple of friends who live in the area.- The location is a little bit funny and the parking is limited on the street (I went to the parking garage), BUT that in no way detracts from the coffee shop itself - in my opinion.- Chill vibe inside. Friendly staff. Third wave coffee. I thought the espresso was really great - got an iced americano. Free wifi. A/C. Charging ports. Pretty standard stuff for a 5 star coffee shop! 🖤
Quaint little shop, great staff, yum looking food (we didnt have time to try it or we would have). Reguar caps or lattes are made with Lactose Free milk which has this funky sweet flavor that can wreck a beautiful coffee. Other than that, neat place! I would recommend going :)
Made an out of the way trip to try this place and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Gibraltar (cortado which is a little unnecessarily confusing) and finally the milk wasn’t burned!! (Local coffee😒) atmosphere was chill, service was efficient, and all the tables were filled. Good for them👍🏻 will be returning and worth a try
Love this Coffeehouse! We stop each time we are in San Antonio. The honey cinnamon latte is right on point. Add a side of avocado toast and you are ready to face the day!
This was hands down the worst coffee ive ever had (house blend) even the Macchiato was trash... I asked for milk and sugar... they didnt mix it and on top top of that the milk was Curdled what coffee curdles milk or cream.... now for the taste: it was literally burnt water there was no flavor, gas station coffee is more robust. how are you going to call yourself a coffee shop and cant even make a decent cup of basic coffee... yea you have fancy pictures and do cute little art but the actual product is trash
Was hoping to have more options for food and my coffee.A few of their items on their already tiny menu were not available @5 pm😏No where did I see that their milk options were only lactose free and almond until I had already ordered my Iced coffee($?)and latte ($?)and was looking for half and half. It was too late as they were making my latte already with lactose free milk.We also got 4 topo chicos($ I dont know), and avacado toast($9 + $1 gluten free toast) total with 15% tip $30+Very expensive for what Im not even sure
This is the best coffee shop we have found in San Antonio! We come here every time we come through this town. We are so happy that even with covid they are still open and awesome! Smooth taste! Not bitter! Amazing! Thank yall for the love!! 😍
Extremely disappointed to be refused service b/c I didn’t have a mask, while all customers sitting down didn’t have a mask on. All I wanted was a Mocha to go. This is the second time. Guess I will not be coming back!!! Sorry Jake.
Indy Coffee Club has a great vibe - good music, ambience, and colors. The menu is surprisingly expansive with coffee, tea, and food options. I wanted to try their Cereal Latte, but they had run out already. HOWEVER, their Conquistador (their version of bulletproof coffee) is absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend. A place Ill definitely check out again, I just wish there was more seating room. ☺️
Been going here since they were in the coffee truck. Great people with great creativity and humor making some wicked coffee creations. The vibe of Indy is welcoming and unique. You get a taste of an creative independent spirit with every swig of coffee they have.Try the Conquistador and a slice of pie. You cant go wrong with anything you try. Also, if you see merch you like (shirts, patches, hats, etc.) Grab it while you can. Their unique designs are one run only and they are worth it.
Extremely limited seating, its a small place, the coffee is really good but they didnt have decaf espresso or soy milk so that made me a little sad. The temperature inside is a bit chilly but I really didnt mind since its +90 outside most of the year anyway. The to-go cups are so cute, will go back for more soon.
I always have a great experience when I come here. The staff is so very friendly and make some great coffee. The Nutty Brown (iced drink) is super tasty. Bonus is the look of the shop. Between the traditional tattoo inspired art and merch, youll see elements of wood and metal. Though it may be narrow, there is plenty of seating (even though it is a busy shop).
Honestly, kind of disappointed in this place. The photos of all of the food look delicious. We ordered an avocado toast that looked beautiful, was massively overpriced for the size, and didn’t actually taste like anything. Very bland. Also ordered the one with the candied pecans on it....very underwhelming. The coffee is good, but nothing special. Glad we tried something new, but won’t be coming back.
The coffee and atmosphere is pretty dope
The coffee is absolutely wonderful as well as the food. I very much enjoy their sandwiches and avocado toast. One of my favorite drinks is the cereal milk latte. It has a cinnamon toast crunch flavor that is very rich and enjoyable. My only recommendation would be to incentivize sales by having some type of rewards program where people get a free drink after 10 purchases or so. I think it would increase turnout. I also think they need more drink sizes, but overall I am satisfied with their business platform and the actual product is good.
Cute little coffee shop attached to student apartment living across UTSA. Great variety of coffee & foods offered all day. I recommend the avocado toast! It is pricey ($9), but its delicious and well worth it. Fairly quiet place to study, but gets crowded easily. Parking is limited, you’ll most likely have to street park.
The Coffee Temple. The atmosphere is what struck me upon first entering this morning. A dark morning with bright headlights was juxtaposed by a quiet space, lit dimly by Edison lights. The music was meditative (perfect for study and concentration) accompanied by a light smell of incense. It felt like walking into a temple. The coffee is outstanding by the way, but it our day and age, Indy as figured out that coffee alone isnt sufficient. They have mastered the art of the coffee house experience.
Just had a great experience with Stacy and Matt! Super hospitable and did a great job in helping me make a decision. Plus, Stacy makes a pretty bomb cinnamon toast crunch latte! Grateful for the experience. Come check these guys out!!!
Okay, so Im highly biased but I love Indy Coffee because I know the care, determination, and hard work the owners (Alex & Jake) put into this company. My current favorites include a black coffee and cold pressed juice combo (juice from Southwest Elixirs who recently started a collaboration with Indy - the Sun Hands juice is so good). For brunch on the weekends, french toast all the way!
Great baristas! The owners are very genuine and welcoming. The quality of coffee here is absolutely amazing. I love studying here. The scones are delicious also, dont forget to grab one while also ordering coffee!
My Coco Loco was delicious. The only flavors they offer are vanilla or chocolate. Good coffee! Food prices seemed a little high, but the atmosphere was good. I enjoyed meeting a friend there to talk and would go back again.
How did the hipster burn his tongue?he drank his coffee before it was cool.vibe: hipster. perfect if youd like to escape san antonio for an afternoon and pretend youre in austin. :]volume: loud. pretty heavy rock-ish music that you kinda have to almost-yell to talk over. definitely need to step outside if you need to take a phone call. not ideal if you prefer quieter study environments. id say this is more of a hang out or causally get some busywork done kind of place vs. a hardcore cramming for finals type of coffeeshop.temperature: unfortunately, freeeezing cold. :[ even with a fleece jacket. this + volume are probably the main reasons i cant really study here. otherwise, id probably visit a lot more!internet: slow-ish. might have been bc there were a ton of people there when i visited. and it kept kicking me off the network-- maybe every 15-30 min (and would take multiple attempts to reconnect).seating: limited, especially during exam weeks. i got lucky and walked in just as someone was leaving-- otherwise, i would have had to get my drink to go and head home bc literally every other chair was taken! soo popular.outlets: good amount near the tables but not in the couch area. there are outlets in the bookshelf area, so if youre sitting on the couch, you can keep an eye on your stuff as it charges, but cant really use your laptop while it charges.drinks: coco loco (vanilla latte + coconut oil) was definitely good-- smooth espresso with a subtle and unique flavor profile and not overbearingly sweet. i was trying to enjoy it but i guess i didnt down it quick enough bc the oil soon separated out and looked super gross, and then hardened bc it was so cold inside the coffeeshop... (also bc the drink wasnt all that hot to begin with, but i didnt mind bc i like getting my drinks at a temp that is immediately drinkable!) they offer a good number of other unique-sounding drinks that id like to eventually try. wish their menu would explain their drinks a little more though, so i wouldnt have to ask what half of them were haha. i also asked about any specials but they didnt have any that day.latte art: yup!price: $$$$ (especially given that the drinks are fairly small) so not super student-friendly, but hey, nobody said the cool factor was free. oh and no prices on the menu, so not so ideal if youre on a budget.location/parking: kinda weird that its located sorta in an apt complex, but upside is plenty of parking in the garage out back. would love it if they opened a location in the med center!overall: a welcome addition to the sa coffee scene! not quite a good place to study, but the espresso drinks are definitely unique and on par with the best coffeeshops in town.
They recently added a pretty large selection of food and breakfast items to their menu! Perfect place to hang out and work on your computer, while enjoying great specialty coffee.
Unique coffee shop. Just the way I like them! You can tell Indy is not trying to be anyone else. Super chill atmosphere. Great place to come and actually have a conversation. One thing about these coffee houses now, they are trying to be Starbucks, forgetting that a coffee house was a place to relax and talk with friends and Exchange ideas! When I open my shop, thats what I want. This place is a little off my path, but when I do go in... I always feel peaceful, and the Coffee... well... its amazing!
Really good food for brunch. Not enough room and crowded gets it a minus star. Usually lots of solo students taking up 4 person tables covered in laptops and notes. Not sure what you can do about that though except provide more smaller tables and reserve larger ones for larger parties
Met a friend for a cup of Joe and wasn’t impressed. Asked for a black coffee that was given to me in a fancy handleless mug and it was so hot I had to have it put in a paper cup. The mug I was given was not made for hot drinks. The coffee was bitter and had a dirty flavor to it.
The coffee here is always great. I typically go with an iced dirty brown which is the perfect balance of coffee, sweet, and creamy. Friday and Saturday they do cereal milk lattes which are worth the trip over. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is delicious but the fruity pebbles/loops is surprisingly delicious.
I write this review after multiple visits to Indy. Every time I returned, I hoped to improve on the previous experience. I figured it was just a fluke that the employees were rude. That said, it was not a fluke, and my experience has been corroborated by others. The drip coffee cups are now smaller, yet the price remains the same. Its a cool atmosphere and I appreciate the hipster vibe theyre going for, but you have to meet customers halfway and invest some time into staff training on How To Be A Kind Person.
Delicious coffee and friendly staff! Also a good place to listen to new music
I usually only come here for coffee, which is so good all the time, but Ive been wanting to come for brunch since they started serving it. I finally made it there today and the biscuits and gravy were AMAZING! It was so unique and fresh and all the flavors balanced so well. I highly recommend going for their coffee and the weekend brunch. Its worth it.
Coffee is the best! Unique menu. Love the scones! Nice relaxing coffee shop.
The customer service was off, which was unusual. Have previously received much better customer service here. The egg & avocado on toast was mediocre at best, the waitress never smiled nor checked back with us. Also, the barista prepared (2) To Go coffees ahead of our order?? Not sure why he did this as he was fully in our view, and we obviously placed our order first?
Very friendly staff that makes the environment very comfortable. The atmosphere is always amazing and welcoming. The drinks are really great and I love coming here or any reason. Whether you are alone and you want a wonderful cup of coffee or you are with a group doing work, or you are just what the group of friends for fun, this place is the place to be.
Great coffee shop ran by some pretty amazing people. Husband is picky when it comes to coffee, but he’ll drive out of the way of our destination just to grab some coffee from Indy. Food has always been phenomenal too!
Great place to grab coffee, chill atmosphere, and cool staff.A place designed to be more social than for long periods of sitting since the chairs have no backs. By far my personal favorite coffee shop in San Antonio where you can see the owners take pride in everything as a work of art. 10/10 would recommend.
I like the atmosphere. Have done some work on laptop. Also was happy the club recommended me a tea that wasnt on the menu. Some of the food seems overpeiced though
Stars are more for the ambiance and friendliness. The chai left much to be desired. Seating is stools so not conducive to staying a bit and the AC was too cold. May try something else another time. Cute place though.
This place is quaint and cute.. but it’s small. I had to sit outside while I waited for a table! The coffee was fairly good but overpriced. I appreciated their use of reusable cups but I probably won’t rush back.
The best iced latte ever!
If you like to study with shrieking speed metal blaring over the loudspeakers, apparently this is the place. At least the coffee is good.
Im always looking for unique, laid back, not cookie cutter coffe shops. This one is right in the midst of the UTSA housing area. I saw families, students and friends just hanging out enjoying coffee. Nice spot.
Nice coffee shop with great service. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. The espresso was delicious. Definitely will be back.
I loved this place! The barista did a great job and my drink was beautiful and so delicious!
Fantastic local spot with cool merch for sale and amazing, hard-hitting coffee for all the coffee-lovers out there. Good atmosphere for studying or chilling out. Theres even an area for reading and relaxing with some good books and family games just in case. Fine prices, but either way very worth it.
Great drinks, they offer lactose free milk, prices are relatively good. Good music selection, /very/ hipster vibe, which is relaxing :) They will kick you out if you dont buy something within about 15 minutes though, but thats understandable I mean theyre an independent small place. I love them! Whenever I can I stop in to study with a vanilla latte.
Baristas are friendly, atmosphere is pleasant, prices compete with Starbucks or any local place Ive been to. 5 stars for the best mocha latte Ive ever had (delicious both hot and iced), and Ive had a lot of mocha lattes. I usually dont like chai lattes, but the chai here is also very good. Whoever is blending the coffee at this place is doing an amazing job!
Great coffee and great vibes! Small but cozy it looks really nice they really invested time and energy in making it look great. A must stop if in the area
Really good atmosphere and their drinks are really tasty! I got a yogurt and granola and the yogurt was amazing probably some of the best yogurt Ive had and the blueberries were fresh. Really great place!
Amazing latte! Loved the decor and ambiance. Close to UTSA but parking is a hassle. Must try!
The coffee was good, but overpriced especially since you only get about 10oz. The best part is, they offer a “free” refill but it’ll cost you $1 to-go. “Cost of the cup” is the answer I got. What I got for free instead was an attitude from the barista.
Great little shop for coffee, matcha, and teas. Super awesome place to meet with friends. Good owners, super friendly. They’re very attentive to detail and support great causes.
Best indie coffee spot in the area! You can taste the freshness of the roast in their coffee and their espresso drinks are on point! Cappuccino, ahhhh. and the people are friendly hipster... no elite northern hipsters in the place ;) very approachable.
Atmosphere is nice but not so much the employees. Guess their conversation was more important than a sale. Parking is not so great either.
BEST COFFEE EVER!! The avocado toast is one of my favorite breakfast items.
I have been coming here for the last 2 years and this place has never done me wrong, gotten my order wrong, or made me wait too long. Thanks for the great coffee Indy!If you are new try the coco loco
Great spot to chill. Love the dirty brown. I also enjoy the no nonsense house coffee. Staff is always friendly. Can get a bit crowded...
I frequent different coffee shops around SA to get a feel for their different atmospheres and coffee tastes and Indy Coffee is by far the best.Great baristas and interior design, really gives me inspiration to write more music, thanks!and try their Dirty Brown iced coffee, absolutely delicious and so smooth.
This place has absolutely the best coffee I have had in San antonio. The flavor is awesome and the aftertaste isnt bitter on the decaf or regular which is ideal for me because the bitter aftertaste of most American coffee is so offputting. I have my mother addicted too, so I cant wait to come back when I am back in town!
It is a very small coffee shop with very basic selections of coffee. Someone wrote this place has veriety selections of coffee, but it is not true. This is not the place that has different beans of coffee you can select from. House coffee and a few selections of espresso drinks.
Bomb Cappuccino! Enough room to do work, but get there early before the cafe fills up! Great cafe for the I-10/ UTSA area!
