I was about to scrap a 5 hp motor for my old planer, but decided to have it checked out by Lopez Electric Motor. Took it in Monday and had it back by Tuesday! The beast of a motor runs like a charm. This shop is top-notch! Ray was easy to work with. Answered all my questions informatively telling me what the options were. I saved hundreds of dollars by avoiding having to buy a new motor. Just needed bearings, a cord, and a switch.

Lopez Electric Motor Works is a multi generation family business in San Antonio, TX.Ray Lopez was very cordial, informative and professional while dropping off an electric motor for diagnosis and repair.As was promised, he contacted me the same day to let me know the diagnostic status of my motor and what would need to be done for repairs.From my initial experience, I can say that I will be bringing my electric motor issues and rebuild/repair projects to these guys...

We recently brought an electric motor from our elliptical in for the guys to see if it could be repaired. They repaired the motor, it was done when promised and they charged what they said they would charge. They checked some other components and even discussed things over the phone with us. They went above and beyond our expectations. We’d gladly use them again.

An air compressor on our spray foam rig began cutting out, which ultimately makes the rig inoperable. BIG BIG PROBLEM WHEN KEEPING UP WITH CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULES. After doing a round of checking “not it” boxes I landed on it being an issue with the electric motor itself.I had called two other similar companies at 8 am. Too busy to see me. (It was about 4 pm by time ONE called me back). I then called Ray, whom of which I am writing this review for, and I was being looked at an hour later. Another 15 minutes and the issue was discovered. It was an inexpensive and quick fix. No push to up sell, thorough explanation for questions asked, and the bill was fair. Good job guys.

Our 2 hp motor went down on a Saturday and we needed a capacitor. Called Ray and he was able to use his contacts to get us one that afternoon. We replaced, but it did not solve the problem, called Ray late Saturday. He offered a loaner motor to keep us running, and had me bring in our motor. We were able to pick up our motor after church on Sunday and we got back to cutting stone. Great customer service ... will continue to go back.

I cant say enough positive things about these guys at Lopez Electric Motor Works I mean these guys are the best quality of work customer service unbelievable they helped us out when we were in a real real bind AC went out they were able to rebuild my motor for me that day and would have been sooner than that other problems were found thanks to me they were my fault and they actually helped me out to get that fixed and didnt really charge me what they could have charged me they had me over the barrel but they took care of us instead Raymond Lopez senior and his son absolutely wonderful family and if you need any kind of electrical motor work big or small give these guys a call they do what they say and they mean it I cannot say enough positive things about them seriously if you are in a bind they are going to get you going and Im sure youll get the same quality service that I got thanks Lopez motor works

Exceptional experience. Ray is personable and extremely knowledgeable. I brought in a new 5HP 3 Phase motor for Ray to check out. Within an hour, Ray had identified the problem and then worked with me over the next 3 days to obtain a new motor, under warranty, from the company I had purchased from. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Got quote to repair a compressor 3hp electric motor. Told them that it had start up problems and it was possibly a start up capacitor. When I got the motor back they had installed a new bearing and painted it black . Turns out, the run capacitor was shot (bubbled so no one had bother look at it) and the windings turned out to be bad. They quoted me a price and then charged me a bit more than the quote and never repaired the motor. The father of the owner said he would come out and check out the motor and never showed up. I ended up buying a new motor and now all is good. I would avoid this shop as they dont provide the service they were more than compensated for.
