Place is sort of hard to find tucked behind the rear of a shopping center and the rear of an apartment complex. Store is a little disorganized but different types of international foods. Not much variety though like in other bigger markets. If you’re looking for large value items though, this is a good place!

Mustafa bazaar is your one stop place for all your Indian & grocery needs. One can expect to find Indian spices, fresh Indian vegetables (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday), grains, frozen Indian snacks and veggies, Indian utensils, frozen fish... They literally have everything that you will need. There is a meat market too where you get organic chicken and baby goat! Baby goat from here is my personal favorite. They have a small snack store where you can grab a quick bite. There also sell freshly made Indian rotis which is a big plus!. Recently they have opened up a small florist section in the store where you can purchase flowers and other puja stuff! Last but not the least the owners of the store, Fayaz and Syed, are genuinely nice people! You will always feel welcomed by them.

All the spices are three years old..Its like dumping from India to US. I bought goat meat, it was stale. Be sure to check spices before you buy. Check for manufacturing dates..And at times it had been tampered by repackaging or new labels.

I would avoid this place. Most of the items are not fresh, except for the veggies. They dont have a good selection of better brands in food as well. The utensils etc are steeply overpriced. I had a really bad experience with Maggi (an Indian instant noodles brand), which was so stale that it smelled when I cooked it. I had bought a couple big packs as they were running a promotion on it, but threw it out after trying twice. The sticker on the pack seemed modified and stuck over. However, if youre looking for Pakistani/Bangladeshi brands, they may be your best bet in town.Their chaat and fresh snacks are a joke. Worst samosa Ive ever had!

Ive never felt so responsible for writing a review, but this time, I have to, Ive been suggested to shop for Halal meat from Mustafa by a friend with good intentions. Long story short, the butcher tried to cheat me with the beef, the owner noticed and got along with it and didnt think about doing anything about it, I decided not to report to authorities because I managed the situation myself. And just so for those who wants the details, to take my words accountable and in consideration, I went to the butcher with a friend, my friend started ordering 4lb. of Lamb shoulder and legs meat. I then told him I want 1 lb. lamb stew with no price, to find out that he put one labeled sticker of 5lb. on my friends bag (You figure what was the trick). What the butcher did is he gave my friend his order, and gave me a bag of 1lb. of probably leg meat (including big, really @#$$#& big chunks of bones) without any labels or price tag/sticker.I stayed calm and confident all the time, gave him enough space and time to justify what he did, but he didnt want to admit it nor apologize, but told me he will make another order of lamb STEW as I wanted ( Stew is big chunks of lean meat for those whos wondering). I told him why he did that and he said the boneless meat has different price (Btw, on the price board, stew is 7.99/lb, shoulders and legs are cheaper). when he felt my anger and contempt steaming out of my tone and stance he backed off and said hell give boneless for the same price I have already paid.Within that I asked the owner why is this stew has bones and he paused for a sec and said its different price, I asked him then whats the price, why isnt it listed on the price board, he replied that the butcher knows the prices.I would never get caught shopping from them, I HIGHLY doubt they slaughter their livestock the Islamic Halal way after experiencing this type of fraud and cheat. I would pay the extra bucks to Ali Baba super market, at least they appreciate and look (we dont know the intentions of people, we have the outer image to judge them) more sincere and honest.Written without proof-reading, sucks to remember the incident.

Im writing this review because these guys are playing with peoples health for money. I recently saw they are selling CHEWING TOBACCO, which is really dangerous and Im 100% sure that they dont have tobacco permit. He sold that to guy infront of me and refused to give the receipt. Please dont buy those kind of products which casues you cancer, it is my sincere suggestion.Since it is not possible to give zero stars, I was giving one star. Most of the products are outdated and labeled expire dates on the existing packages. After you purchased any items please make sure the expiration dates and also prices. When they scanned any item at the register, you will see a price more than that you saw at the shelves reezers.Make sure when youre buying a frozen meat, it was getting rotten smell when I bought a chicken from them once.

Good selection of healthy optionsMustafa, is where I went for staples during my stay in San antonio. At first, I was living on medical drive, but by the end of my stay I was on the Southside of San Antonio approximately 25 miles away, yet I came back to mustafa.Mustafa stocks exotic and imported groceries. As a Bangladeshi, I was thrilled and often indulged in Bangladeshi delicacies. The staff were friendly at first, but as business grew due to the lack of competition, service had declined.

I have been going to Mustafa for a very long time and I noticed how all these reviews talk bad about Mustafa and the owner does nothing even after many people tell him that there are very bad reviews online about this store, which is not true. He tell me and every other great costumers the truth to why he doesnt do anything, he says that believing what is said online is not exactly the same experience as coming in and seeing it for your self.I have been in the Telgu and Hindu Community and many people plan to write many bad reviews like these and most of the reviews that say Dont go here or go to Ali baba instead they all happen to be from Ali baba it self. I happen to know that the owner of Al Baba has many kids, and nephews that help him and noticing that they all have similar reviews we can tell that Ali baba owner tells them to sign as a mysterious google reviewer to mess with Mustafas buisness. Ali baba cannot simply take the fact that there is a New Grocery in Town (a harder competition with great service, food, different ethnicity). Many Telgus have corrupted this name and they dont understand that a person is a person no matter how big or small.I had stopped going to Ali Baba when I heard he throw some hot soup on the restaurant owner which also happens to be called Ali baba. The costumer service is good, only if you actually open your mouth and say what you want, instead of standing there and looking at peoples faces.I would definitely go to Mustafa till the last day on earth.**So the following readers I encourage you to help this store out by minimizing the false information. This store is very unique and may look not so great from outside but is beautiful from the inside. This store gives discounts for member ships, has many products from Asia, as well as it is the biggest asian and middle eastern grocery in san antonio.Sorry Ali baba but you know this is true.
