I got to try this place for my birthday. I loved this place for their food, drinks and location. It has indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend the outdoor seating because there is actual space between different parties. We made the mistake of sitting inside and were less than two feet away from the party next to us (Not exaggerating). There were about eight people (4 parties of 2) inside within the same range of each other. We could barely fit in between the tables to be able to get out and use the restroom or whatever. A little to close for this pandemic. I think they are prioritizing the amount of people that can dine in vs COVID safety regulations, if any. Like I mentioned, outdoor seating is a lot better and more spacious. On a better note, I ordered the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, which was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed how crispy and flavorful the pork belly was. The chipotle hollandaise sauce was delicious and complemented the pork belly perfectly. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which was very tasty. I also ordered an Elderberry Mimosa, and it was really good. It was definitely on the stronger side, which I enjoyed ☺️.Overall, the place was good but would definitely recommend they prioritize customer safety over numbers.
Our favorite destination brunch spot! Creme brulee French toast is to die for!! Im a big fan of the elderflower mimosa and pork belly scramble. Cant go wrong with so many great options.
I cant even begin to describe how delicious the food is here. I had their eggs Benedict with salmon--good grief, so amazing! Ive also had their chorizo scramble which was just as good. Where this place shines their vast flavors of mimosas (hence the name). Ive had the raspberry and pomegranate and was not the least bit disappointed! Excited to continue to explore the menu and mimosa flavors! And to top it all off, service is always superb!!Steer parking or public parking lot across the street.Plenty of outdoor seating
I got the tomato & artichoke Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary. Both were good! A bit overpriced for the food though. My service was good. I was rather uncomfortable to see that none of the staff were wearing masks and almost left due to my own discomfort. Only reason I didn’t is because I’m vaccinated so I wasn’t too worried about my own safety, but more for the small and elderly around me.I think under different circumstances I would’ve had a much more enjoyable experience.Giving 3 stars for lack of masks.
Sweet little bistro in San Clemente. It just fits in the neighborhood. Yummy coffee. Mimosa menu with fun flavors like elderflower and pomegranate. We got there around 845 and expected a lengthy wait. But the 20 minutes went quick and we got a seat on the patio. The waitress offered some good insight on the menu options, including adding some fresh raspberry jam to the croque madame. It definitely gave the dish a little sweet to balance the savory. Id go back.
I happen to be in town for a concert so I was staying nearby. It was within walking distance to my hotel and googled brunch places. It’s a very pretty small restaurant. However if you do not make it very clear that you want to sit outside they’ll place you inside, which I wasn’t too happy about. I was told the wait would be another hour however shortly after I sat down they gave a table outside to the next person. It’s right in front of a park and close to the beach. They have a wide range of Mimosa flavors.
I literally do not go review anyone, but being a small business owner myself, I could not stand by the gross and extremely disrespectful treatment I just received at this restaurant/establishment. I walk San Clemente with our newborn while my wife works on on Del Mar at least two days a week. I make sure she’s asleep and then try to eat quickly being conscientious of other patrons. She’s two months old so for the last month we’ve been out and about, I’ve patronized Cafe Mimosa one to two times a week with myself and baby and also with extended family, always seemingly welcomed to the outside patio extension with the stroller. Today was the exception. I was greeted by an affable male server and told he would be able to seat me accordingly after he was finished seating a few other customers. While the I was waiting I was approached by a very rude and disdainful female server who asked me if I could take my baby out. I asked what she meant as I was caught off guard, and she said they do not allow strollers in the restaurant and I need to go outside and take her out. I apologized and said I didn’t need to sit inside is it ok if I sit outside like I had been for the last few weeks and she huffed and rolled her eyes and said he can help you and stormed off. I felt very taken aback as to why when I had been respectful and patiently waiting, I would be basically attacked into either removing my sleeping baby or leave. I tried to articulate that to the male employee and he just shrugged and she smirked when I said she was rude and as they looked at each other and gave no response. I feel that was unconscionable behavior as a representative of any business. I am in customer service and relations and that’s a degrading and inhospitable way to treat anyone for any manner looking to patronize your business. I would recommend the “high-end” Cafe Mimosa apparently for non-families and God forbid someone with say a handicap or a wheelchair. I wonder if they would ask them to leave that outside as well? And while I do not remotely equate that at all with having a child, I do equate it with them being unwelcoming to any necessary apparatus for a customer and them making sure that said patron knew they were not being welcomed in their establishment.
When I sat down, the server wasnt friendly. After a while, I did notice everyone else who sat down got a glass of water, while I didnt receive a glass of water. Food was great and came out quick. I have been to places much friendly than this place. Rather visit a place where customers are treated like they matter. This place isnt it.
Nice ambience! Very pretty.. i would suggest getting there early as once its 1 hour past their opening time, a long line forms
I love this cute cafe. I got iced tea and I loved the way the make their fresh tea and then pour it over ice. It was so fun and delicious. I also got the traditional eggs benedict. It was so good. I really liked their special hollandaise sauce. I can’t wait to go again and try their mimosas next time. They looked really good.
Lovely, charming place with delicious food and a wonderful wait staff. The frittata and quiche were so very yummy. Loved that they came with salad as well. Will definitely be back to enjoy more.
Today, we decided to do something to celebrate the 2nd or 3rd pandemic shut down by exploring our surroundings each week. We are from Laguna Beach. Our first stop was at cafe mimosa in San Clemente. We read a negative review of no dogs allowed but actually-- I appreciate the bark-less moments with my glass of mimosa. It was classy and delicious. Definitely a place to visit!
Food was on point, great ambiance, staff was very sweet. I will be back and would recommend to anybody who loves a nice, tasty breakfast!
Alright so I’m horrible at taking pictures before my meal, but it’s ok because you can find it on other pictures on their site. Nevertheless, this place had really good quality food. We highly suggest the cream brûlée French toast. The customer service was really good; our server was very attentive. She constantly came by to check on us.With regards to the mimosas, I think wish we could have tried the mango, but they ran out. However, they did have a wide variety of different options. To end this, I will come back again, when I surf this area again.
We went on Friday noon it was 45 minutes wait but worth it: friendly service, the food, the restroom clean, 70 ^F degrees…. Everything good so farOur server Monique super friendly and help us to decide.Thank you ☺️
We came all the way from Irvine and we were turned down because of the baby stroller. They don’t welcome kids. The place has a strong beer smell. The one star for the location.(This part is added following the below reply of the establishment: negatively makes everything tastes bad. So keep the benefit of the doubt on your side). Thanks 🙏
No employees were wearing masks including the chefs. My medium rare steak was more medium than rare and it was $24 for a tiny steak and fries. The waitress was nice which why I’m giving it two stars instead of one. I really wish she would’ve worn a mask though. My dad’s ham seemed processed. The coffee was not hot.
The service was not great but the food was even worse. I do not recommend.
Delicious food, you have a selection of mimosa, choice of sitting indoors or outdoors. The service was very good 👍
The French toast is a must! Great service! Great decor & location, the variety of mimosas will help you start a perfect Sunday!
Food was average at best and overpriced. We waited an hour to be seated for 6 when we initially told 30 min.The side salad is literally just a clump of mixed greens with bland oil based “house” dressing. They don’t even have syrup for French toast.... how?? The place sucked. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone... even my arch nemesis.Go to the grocery and you can make anything on their menu for 2% of the cost and zero wait for mediocre food.
Food was great, service was great. However only one of the employees was wearing a mask! Nobody in the kitchen wore masks either. If I had known that before we ate there we would not have stayed. Super disappointed.
I was extremely dissapointed in my meal i ordered an omelet and i tasted no flavor at all the omelet tasted like water. And if u want authentic tasting hollandaise youll be dissapointed it had no flavor as well. The chef doesnt know how to cook a steak properly as my steak i ordered was medium rare, it was well done on the outside but raw on the inside not medium rare at all.
This place has excellent food, coffee, and ambiance. I met some friends for brunch, and we sat out on the very pleasant patio. My friend, who had been there before, said their Benedicts are especially good. One of the specials that day was a beef Bourguignon Benedict. We all ordered that, and it was very delicious. We could taste the wine in the beef, however we all agreed that it could use a little bit more. We also enjoyed delicious elderberry mimosas as well as big lattes served the traditional French way in a bowl. We were literally there enjoying our meal and visiting for several hours. the staff was very friendly and attentive and didnt seem to mind that we were hanging out so long. I would definitely recommend this place and I would happily return!
Well worth the wait! Mango mimosa and the Creme Brulee French toast was fantastic!
Great food, friendly and helpful staff.
Food is way over-rated, bland, underwhelming and the service leaves a lot to be desired. As a bonus,, they dont even wear a face cover...during a freaking time of pandemic and of caring for one another, they dont seem to value their customers well-being. Never again.
Fantastic place. Premium service, amazing food, fun environment. We enjoyed the hot tub size lattes, the French toast, & the breakfast sandwich.
Quaint little cafe serving delicious brunch items. The ice tea is great, many flavors brewed in a two piece glass pitcher. The Creme Brulee French Toast with seasonal fruit topping was decadent. Outside seating spaced well.
Went there for an early mothers day brunch with my daughter she had the pork belly Benedict n I had the Steak Benedict very good had the bloody Mary so good and my daughter had a mimosa service was friendly and service was great thanks ....
Very nice place for a breakfast on the way to San Diego
From our waitress to the outdoor setting and the wonderful food, we were very happy and will come back to try more on their menu. I had the frisee salad and my husband had a breakfast. Both of us were very happy 👍
Great place for good breakfast. Good service
Very great food thank you for giving us great service and great food
I dont know, was just passing by on a day trip. Only got some overpriced mimosas.Very underwhelming!
Ha! I love it. Service was awesome, super friendly!! The food does not disappoint! Worth the wait 🙌👍
Excellent service delicious food and mimosas a must go when you visit san clemente!
Food is great, service is great. Relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely brunch spot
Excellent food, mimosas and service in a cute setting.
Best mothers day breakfast and mimosas!
Its a pretty place.
Great brunch place with great drinks and a nice, chill atmosphere. I had the eggs Benedict and a screwdriver and they were both great.
Besides for good service, the place serves really tasty food. Definitely going back.
Food was delicious 😋
Good food. Nice service.
Cafe Mimosa is a lovely local restaurant that has been here many years. Enough to be a memorable part of the scenery. The folks that work here are wonderful, and they love their gift of service. They were out for a while, due to Covid, but were able to get back to business when regs allowed for it... And were very happy to have them back! If youre visiting San Clemente, make sure to give them a try for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. And if youre looking for a suggestion, the chicken panini is delicious... I could seriously eat two. Theyre definitely a must to include on any local tour. And if youre a local and havent been here... What are you waiting for?!?!
Positive: good orange juice, bacon, scrambled egg. Negative: processed ham, poor water quality. Ps. I do like French people and Citreon car to carry the eggs to market😊
Delicious food, outdoor seating. Came here to celebrate a friends birthday for brunch and it was perfect.
Great Food and fun 😄 time
One word crochet Madames
Came to San Clemente to visit friends and family. The wife and I decided to ditch them for an afternoon and take a walk into town for lunch. Came across this cool little place and WOW, the service and food was amazing. The mimosas are excellent, lots of different concoctions. We will for sure revisit.
Longer wait than expected, but the service and food and mimosas were great! And the outdoor experience was put together well, during this COVID era of dining.
The spot is fantastic and roomy, the food was delicious and the prices were very inexpensive. quick, efficient service and very friendly waiters. I highly recommend this place.
Nice outside seating area.
Both categories of savory and sweet dishes are terrific. They promote themselves as purveyors of fresh, natural and wholesome. They deliver on that promise. Our family favorites are the French toast and the croque madame. The toast portion is very generous. I recommend a different dressing for the side salad offered with the croque. The usual salad dressing is too bitter for my taste. They don’t make their own pastries but they are delicious as you would expect from a French restaurant. The outdoor seating is comfortable year round as they have heaters.
Delicious Brunch spot! Great menu. High quality food.
Good breakfast
Omg! The French toast is amazing!!!
Great service, mimosas and breakfast!
I thought I had posted a thorough review for Cafe Mimosa as we have dined there on several occasions over the years but there is not one posted so here goes(!):We love this little spot. Over the years we have returned every time we find ourselves in San Clemente. It is a quaint little place with a great vibe and yummy food and drink. The mimosas are terrific, I like the elderflower and the mango the best although they are quite different from one another. All of the food offerings here are stellar, creative bites that will not disappoint. I would recommend always getting an order of the berry anglaise french toast for the table to share. It is like heaven on a plate. Until our last visit we have always eaten outside which is a cute closed in area but inside is comfy, too. The service is always great, responsive friendly people who clearly enjoy what theyre doing. If there is a wait, trust me, WAIT! Itll definitely be worth your time. Until next time, Mimosa, thank you!
Great food and great service. I will never knock a place for their clientele but some of the pickiest patrons Ive ever seen frequent this location. The staff handles them so well, which speaks to their professionalism.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting...
Very well organised and accessible place. They provide generous meals and for fair prices. We loved the menu a lot and the staff members were super welcoming and informative. I recommend this place.
I love this place for breakfast! Service is always on point and the food is great!
Great service and even better food!
We went here for the first time today and everything was amazingly delicious! My husband had the creme brulee french toast with blueberry compote and I had the traditional eggs Benedict with potatoes. The Benedict was perfection with a paprika hollandaise and the potatoes were perfectly hot, crispy cubes of deliciousness. We will definitely come again the near future!
Gotta try it for yourself!!
Great service, great food. Nice outdoor seating.
Amazing food and servers are excellent. Only complaint is how they seat on Sundays. So if you go in and there is a wait you out your name down. Then people are able to go walk around. Great for some customers but horrible for business. Tables sit empty for 20 mins some times while other wait seated beside the entry way, all waiting for someone to walk back from the other side of town. Easily losing 4-6 tables per morning. Bad business if you ask me. But food is amazing!
Most delicious (and artistically presented) french toast ever! Generous portions for all the breakfast entrees. Restaurant is cozy but theres nice seating out on the patio. Service was cheerful and efficient. Plenty of street parking nearby and the pier is walking distance.
Amazing food, sweet waitresses, and a lovely view!
This is the best restaurant in all of San Clemente. When the weather is good sitting on the patio outside drinking wine is heavenly. They are an amazing place to take a date or a client. The food it amazing and they have an extensive wine selection and all the waiters know every wine and dish. Top quality, and the best restaurant in San Clemente.
The staff is always ready to please. The kitchen is meticulous about your experience with the food. A charmingBistro with a pleasant patio, cozy interior and limited bar seating.Public and street parking is available.Sunday Farm market is on Del Mar to enjoy after a delicious brunch /lunch . Local favorite
Great food, friendly staff, and delicious Mimsas. Its a cozy, clean restaurant thats a little pricey but the food was amazing. The stuff had great personality and were attentive. We had a great time. Thank you!
Nice Venue. Friendly Service. Tasty Eats!
Been here a handful of times recently and that should tell the story. Why keep coming back unless you enjoy it? Each visit was Good. Its a different menu for the steak and potatoes, hamburger guy like me but I find something delicious every time. Its quaint, quiet and not too far from the beach if you want to walk off some of that sumptuous meal you just conquered.I like the opennes of dining on the patio and watching the foot traffic.Youre right across the street from the art gallery and the library if youre looking to stroll around and hang out.Ive found a seat mid week pretty easily but my guess is the place is jam packed with a wait on the weekends.Get out there early, its worth it!
Delicious 😋. Pork belly Benedict is a must try. Size of plates are generously large, so sharing would be recommended along with a plate of fruits, also large.Cozy and good service.
Delicious food and great service! I really liked their orange mimosa and the omelette was really yummy. We also got the creme brulee french toast and it was DIVINE.
Wonderful Food (Had Breakfast), Service AND Outdoor Seating!!!
Kind of expensive for what it is.
Great service and a fun place to eat outside on a nice day. Good selection of food and great quality. Will come back again for sure!
Wow. This is a fantastic breakfast spot. Food was amazing... Next level. Will plan better and try all the different mimosas next time.
