Best bagel/brunch place in the area! I was a regular for 3 years (until I moved out). Their food is great and feels very natural (no unhealthy additives). Not to mention the cost-benefit. I’ve definitely paid way more on food that I enjoyed way less.Highly recommend their “daily omelette”, “traditional”, or tuna melt.
Awesome place! Bagels are really good, especially if you get them with some butter. Do check this place out. 7 AM to 3 PM all days. Right next to Vons, great location. The lady/owner is friendly and recognizes regular customers. They have a decent selection of coffees and sandwiches, as also egg salad and omelette options.
Went here for the first time instead of Breugger’s bagels since it was closer and it was the best decision ever made! Can’t believe I didn’t notice this awesome spot before! Amazingly fresh bagels with great options for cream cheese and mixing it up with choice eggs and cheese. Their mocha(both hot and iced) was also delicious, comparable to Peet’s and better than Starbucks! This will definitely be my regular bagel place! The owners are so sweet, they come out and give the order to your table. Quick and efficient service too!
GOOD COFFEE!!!!!Bagels nice and fresh.Omelets (distinguished from egg sandwich) are real (i.e., fried w/ ingredients folded in). Hit the spot.Only sorry I didnt find this place sooner...
Great bagels but they usually run out fairly quickly.
Best veggie bagel, we come back every time
Worst bagel Ive ever had. More like a roll with a hole. Im not convinced they were even boiled. Everything bagel doesnt have salt. Toaster is too low and yields a lukewarm roll. I hate to leave bad reviews but hopefully this will save someone from my experience. The only reason Im finishing is because I paid $7 for 2 bagel with cream cheese.Oh, and whoever said these were the best bagels since NY.....no. I grew up in Jersey and Ive had good bagels.
Very refreshing for a person who would enjoy early morning breakfast. Bagels are fresh and plenty of options to try out from
Amazing customer service, the food comes out quickly, and every single bite of food or sip of a drink is incredibly satisfying!!
Good bagels, kind staff!
Great place to support a local bagel shop. I’ve been going here for 10 years and it is my favorite spot. Egg and cheese croissant or bagel is amazing, so is the vegetarian bagel sandwich for a fresh yummy meal. The fresh squeeze orange juice is also delicious. Definitely stop by here for a nice little cafe feel in your local neighborhood. Get bagel sandwiches to go or enjoy hanging out in the cute place with teacup wall paper. There is also outdoor seating for a nice sunny afternoon!
I mean it’s no NYC bagel (insert biased opinion as I’m born and raised there and it’s just a staple)But man best bagel I’ve had in San Diego this farThe vegetarian everything bagel is bomb and so is the sausage egg and cheese.yumWill be back
Please update times on google you claim you are currently open but I am here and you are closed :)
This is my absolute favorite bagel shop. The veggie bagel is so good!
Cute little bagel shop with a nice selection of tasty bagels and breakfast sandwiches! Will definitely be coming back.
Hands down the best bagel place in San Diego! Im from the east coast and we like our sandwiches/subs and we like our bagels. Those things are hard to find in California. I got the tuna salad on the onion bagel and the veggie delight on a plain bagel, both were super delicious and didnt disappoint. Im about 5 months pregnant so Im super picky about my food. If it doesnt taste good Ill definitely let you know. Ill definitely be back very soon.
I tried to like this place, buts its been twice now that my bagel wasnt toasted after thats what I asked for. Last time I got an everything bagel with cream cheese there was some green stuff on it, like they used the same knife as on someones avocado toast. $10 min on the CC so prepare to have cash. I get it, its a small business, but its sub-par.
Food tastes good
These werent bagels, they were bread--to light weight, not chewy, and didnt have much flavor. We ended up throwing a few away. However, the acai bowl was on point.
Closest thing Ive found to a NYC bagel in California.
The best bagel Ive ever had and the people are so nice. Thank you so much.
Stopped by this spot while just out taking my dog for a walk, with no plans on going in. After living in New York for a year, finding a real Bacon, Egg, and Cheese in San Diego is near impossible. With that being said, the Daily Bagel gave me a perfect breakfast sandwich. The croissant was perfectly toasted and flakey on the outside but warm, buttery, and soft on the inside. The egg was actually egg, a nice change from the frozen egg pattys were accustomed to. Lastly, the bacon was thick and cooked perfectly, like what you would make at home just better quality. As if the food wasnt enough to make me want to come back, the staff was friendly, they were practicing social distancing and provided hand sanitizer, and when my food came out both of them gave me a warm smile before wishing me a good day. I will be going back and I am excited to bring my foodie family here as well. Thank you Daily Bagel for keeping classic, family owned bagel shops alive!!
I love this place. I have come since I was in college. The ladies are always very nice and friendly and helpful. The bagels are very good. They also make sammiches for lunch, smoothies, and the typical coffee shop beverages.
Great bagels. Great coffee. Great people.
Famous in this town. Delicious food.
Fantastic! Wonderful little atmosphere and warm staff serving phenomenal bagels, cafe, and select pastries. True hidden gem!
Yummy fluffy bagels not like that greasy dough over at Einsteins! Also, really good local coffee. Big points for having sugar and cream in bulk containers instead of individual waste. Would love to see reusable utensils for stirring coffee!
Good quality independent joint. Fast friendly service. They make a pretty good bagel.
Good bagels. Good vietnamese coffee
This place is a hidden gem. Its a little hard to find because its towards the back but AMAZING COFFEE. $2 small $3 large doesnt get better that! I also got a egg white bagel sandwich, delicious! Lady was so friendly and I like the cute hand made coffee signs. Making this my new morning stop.
Great bagel shop. I think it’s family owned because it has a small business feel. Very delicious and fresh bagels, big omelets, and great coffee—it’s from Cafe Calabria! I will be back again to bring friends to enjoy more delicious bagels and coffee.
Went there and ordered a bagel. My order turned out to be $4.55 and was told that I needed to order something else cause a $5 minimum charge. They didnt have a sign up that said minimum. They tried making me order coffee and I told them I dont want anything else. They werent willing to accommodate me for $.45. I have been there before and will never go back there again since they wasted my time and tried to get more money out of me.
The bagels are good, the coffee is good. I’ve never had an issue with freshness, I would imagine some of the less popular bagels can get a little dry by the end of the day. Pure speculation though. Definitely a hidden gem. 💦
Had the bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. Nice fluffy bagel, and tasty insides. Vietnamese coffee was delicious as well
This is my fave bagel shop around and I come here almost weekly if not daily. The lady is so sweet! Her bagels are the best and softest around! The thai tea is so good. I have had a lot here, but my fave is the ham egg and cheese bagel with mayo! She knows me now by my face and barely has to ask what I want.Sometimes she is even clever and reminds me of the thai tea I didnt know I wanted but would have been upset had I forgotten! ;)
Yummy bagels! And very friendly staff!
The bagels and creme cheese are real good. The lady is so nice.
Favorite local bagel and coffee joint. Nothing spectacular. Consistent and good!
I paid $9.95 for a regular coffee and 2 bagels toasted w/ cream cheese. The coffee was ok (not worth $2.95) is it was not even as great tasting as starbucks. The bagels must have been $3.49 each toasted with cream cheese. The bagels had a millimeter thin layer of cream cheese, bread not fluffy on the inside. This place was worse than Einstein Brothers bagels. Low quality and high price.
A while back, a friend of mine had a craving for lox and bagel. I did a quick search and this place came up on the list. Im surprised I didnt bookmark it then. Headed over after church and my food radar zoomed in on the Traditional. Cream cheese, lox, tomato, onion and capers on your choice of bagel. Chose the sun dried tomato and couldnt have been happier. Served open face, they placed each half in a small container. With a single vanilla latte added to the mix, it was pheNOMenal. The lady at the counter was very sweet too. Its now become a breakfast staple for me whenever I visit SD.
I ordered the veggie bagel sandwich, swapped out cream cheese for hummus at no extra charge. I could see the hummus but it was flavorless and I asked twice to get my bagel toasted but it wasnt when I received my order. There were four employees working but an exceptionally long wait.
I come here for the coffee. They serve a very good espresso like the one I am used in France. Highly recommended :)
❤ this place. Great service. The mochas are 😋 yummy. Ive been there twice, breakfast and lunch were delicious.
It offers a good assortment of bagels ranging from the onion one to jalapeño cheddar. Unfortunately, this selection is consistent with commercial types of bagels and doesnt possess a bagel that you couldnt just get from Vons next door. They also will have about 4 of their bagel options not available to you since they be out of stock by 12pm. Plenty of seating area.
Fresh Hot Bagels made daily. Serves breakfast and coffee and of course sandwiches made with you guessed it fresh Hot Bagels.
Small spot with the best bagels in the UTC area. Great bagel and sandwich variety. I particularly recommend the Veggie Bagel which is fully loaded and fantastic!
Such nice people. Low key yummy bagels and breakfast sandwiches. I enjoy coming here.
They now open at 7 AM on the weekends. I have been going there 14 years, Very good bagels and sandwiches.
Friendly service and quick. Sadly all four bagels were stale and cold. Skimpy on the cream cheese. Went on Sunday at 10am. Will try again earlier in the day.
Amazing restaurant, and the women who work there she is super friendly and her bagels really delicious, try Tuna salad or chicken salad you wont regret it 👌🏽😻
Incredibly stale bagel. I was very disappointed with the bagel. The coffee was good!
Very small, quaint bagel shop. Delicious bagels. I would come for breakfast again.
I have been seeking a bagel shop in San Diego that sells the NYC-style crunchy, fluffy bagels that I love, and the closest I have found to date has been Garden State Bagels in Encinitas. I was hoping that Daily Bagel was going to at least approximate what Garden State Bagels does, and I would even be willing to trade-off a bit of my bagel ideal for convenience, since Daily Bagel is near my house.Unfortunately, I was disappointed during my trip to Daily Bagel. Most discouragingly, I got chewy, unimpressive bagels that were most similar to the bagels one would find in a chain like Einsteins or Dunkin Donuts. In addition to the drive-thru texture of the bagel, the Works Bagel (essentially what east-coasters call an Everything Bagel) is over-dominated by substandard onion flakes that give it a cloying sweetness and harshness that renders it nearly inedible. I had my Works Bagel with ham, cheddar cheese, and egg and I was also unimpressed by the thin slice of Oscar-Mayer-level commodity-grade sandwich ham with scrambled eggs that lacked any basic seasoning such as, for example, salt and pepper. My Jalapeño Bagel with Jalapeño Cream Cheese was better, and featured some small fresh chunks of jalapeño in the cream cheese, which I enjoyed. However, there arent as many chunks as there are in Garden State Bagels superior jalapeño cream cheese. Also, again, I dislike the chewy texture in addition to the plain taste of the bagel itself, which perhaps is made from under-salted dough that causes it to taste more like sandwich bread than what I expect a bagel to taste like. This is a small shop and doesnt have a large selection, and it took them about 10-15 minutes for me to get my food on a Monday morning at around 10am. It should not take that long during non-peak hours to make a bagel breakfast sandwich, a bagel with cream cheese, and a Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was good -- perhaps the only reason Id come back here would be for the coffee.
Cheddar jalapeno bagel woth tuna melt
Get the Traditional on a works bagel. Its delicious.
Decent bagels but service is slow and not that friendly
Any place that doesnt wear gloves to prepare a bagel/sandwich is gross. You cant touch everything behind the counter, handle money, then handle ready to eat food. Not even after the bagels came out of the toaster were gloves worn. Food poisoning ready to happen. Wont be back.
Come here for breakfast whenever in San Diego. Easy ride or walk to.
Best Bagel in La Jolla area
Great value, fresh bagels, delicious sandwiches.
Liked by the locals, good for a quick on the go breakfast
$5 minimum on all card charges, as well as almost paying $3 for a plain bagel. Trying to squeeze out any profit they can.
Very friendly staff... Try their acai bowl, its delicious!
This is my go-to for a peanut butter acai bowl.
Tasty and fresh bagels, good drinks
Nice and quiet place for a quick breakfast.
Delicious bagels at great prices.
Place has gone down hill in my opinionHard bagesCan not get order rightMy opinion
