I got the Nutella cold brew and chocolate fantasy dessert. The Nutella cold brew was good, and the dessert was - until I noticed there was literally a HAIR on it…Will not be returning. This was my first time here. The service was also very poor, the person working at the counter was so rude it almost ruined my day. To think I dealt with someone with such a mean attitude just to pay them to give me a dessert with a hair on it.. wow. Waste of time and money. There are plenty of other places to eat at in Downtown. Go elsewhere where you’ll most likely be treated with more respect than this place.
If you want to eat within a reasonable time frame DO NOT choose here. 2 star for excellent coffee. Our experience: food order day 1 waited 30 minutes. Tried again following day as convenient to hotel, told 30 minutes on placing order, no worries happy to wait, however 40 minutes later told another 30.We left.Hope they enjoyed the gratuity we left in good faith. Sadly we didn’t get the service.
Excellent place. Paula and Alex run a great ship. Food was fresh and avocado 🥑 toast was better than most restaurants. Quick and easy. No lines like everywhere else. 10 all around. Bagels are fresh every morning. When in San diego quick and fast so we can enjoy the day.
The two drinks Ill get is the hot coco or the lava, the only food items I get from there is a bagel with butter. Ive been here a couple of time never had issues with the employees but dam they take forever. Literally no customers in there and it takes them 15-20mins for a toasted bagel with butter. The drinks 20 mins, and I sometimes order ahead and still the same they take too long. I dont know why, its super rare for them to have more than 3 customers in there at a time.Honestly now I just take the time to walk one more block to lani coffee shop, better service and they are faster.
Wonderful one stop coffee shop that has sandwiches 100% gourmet and bacon optional are vegetarian and off the hook gourmet menu items..Alex was very helpful and greeted with a smile and helped select an item Asia sandwich menu and very beautiful decorations from the lights to big succulent plant display and very homey comfortable and surroundings and a nice enough people to sit in Alex did a wonderful job in the sandwich and explain its artistry in sandwich.*100% satisfied in going to bring friends and family and definitely invest..
I got the Popeye smoothy. It took a while to get, but for a local coffee shop, it was a decent snack on my walk home from work.
Delicious breakfast burrito and Nutella coffee. The staff is super friendly also. Would highly recommend
We went there because my daughter wanted a boba tea. Im glad we all decided to get something. The boba was everything she dreamed about. The standard drip coffee that I got was some of the best coffee I have ever had and I mean the best of any preparation I have ever had. The Nutella cold brew was decedent and almost the consistency of milk shake. The FloMango smoothie was beyond delicious. What Im saying is you cant go wrong with anything on the menu.
Great little gem. Breakfast Sandwiches are quite good! Here for an event or convention, its worth the short walk!
I got the cheese mousse Ceylon milk tea. Best cheese mousse ever (compared to nor Cal)... Super thick, savory, sweet. Its like drinking a hk milk tea cheesecake. The boba was also nice -- soft and squishy
Ordered online half hour before I went to pick up. When I arrived no one acknowledged me for a full ten minutes. When I asked if I could pick up a mobile order the man working shouted “when we have time!” Then continued ignoring me. Then a few minutes later with a very rude tone said “what order are you talking about?!” I explained and he went and found it. It had been ready the entire time I’d been there. By the time he finally handed it to me my coffee was cold. Only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because I’ve had much better service in the past. Safe to say I will not be returning. I understand being busy but being rude is unacceptable.
Line at Richard Walkers too long? This place has great pastries, breakfast foods, and A M A Z I N G coffee. Try the Iced Vietnamese Coffee, it is really good.
Great little spot and Alex is the MAN!!!!! I don’t even live in San Diego but every time I’m down here I always stop by this place. It’s better then Starbucks. If you go you gotta try one of the limeade drinks especially the Fresh Ginger Limeade!!! One of the if not the best part of Skybound is Alex and his personality, he has jokes for days 😂 (granted they are dad jokes) but he’s a funny guy.
Its a really nice small place. People are nice and the coffee is great. I got smoohties for my sons and its really good. There are places outside to sit and if you have baby in stroller, thats okay. It has some room near the front of the restaurant. I have a big stroller myself so it was nice having the kids inside before they played at the park nearby.
Finally, a coffee shop that is also a lounge, complete with comfy cushioned seating, mellow vibe, tasty desserts, fresh local ingredients made in-house AND BAGELS!!!A little pricey but, I guess that’s what ya gotta pay for quality and local house-made stuff.Oh yea, and they’ve got local craft beer too, awesome!Would be cool if they were open 24/7 though. Night owls are people/paying customers too.
Had excellent foxy loxy bagel combo and cold coffee. The servers are excellent and the food is good and fresh.
The Lychee and peach is super refreshing. The jasmine and salt is tangly and great aftertaste. The chai is heavenly like the best thing you have ever tasted x100
We came here when the pancake house across the street was too busy for our taste. Not only were the breakfast sandwiches delicious and filling, but the service was some of the most excellent I have ever received. Extremely friendly, sweet staff who were very accommodating and happy to help us. All of the staff were excellent! What a wonderful breakfast experience.
The lady working there was extremely rude and seemed annoyed that we even walked into the store. The Thai Tea and Jasmine Tea were very watered down and the boba tasted like burnt rubber. I had a very bad experience, but maybe it was only because it was that one lady working there who was rude.
Great corner coffee shop. Excellent coffee (espressos, lattes, iced, cold brew). Awesome deserts, muffins, and pastries.
Food is made fresh. Coffee is phenomenal.. especially the Nutella cold brew. Reasonable prices in an overpriced city. Very friendly service.
Wouldn’t recommend this place…waited 15 minutes to get our coffees and when I picked up my cream cheese bagel I had to spread the cheese on myself from the two small sachets they had provided, very disappointed!
We were walking around downtown San Diego and wanted to have a great dessert. We remember this place from about a year ago and decided to give it a try again. This time I think the dessert was better than the last time. Service was excellent too. Many thanks to the young man that helped us with our order. We will be back
Jade is an amazing worker and she makes the tastiest drinks! I really liked my iced Carmel Frappuccino and she made a bacon lettuce mayo bagel that was so good. Also the strawberry lemonade and purple tea were superb!!
I really enjoy the Lava Latte that they serve here. It is one of my favorite coffees to grab when I am in town! Additionally, their staff is always so kind and seem genuinely happy to be there. It is always a pleasure to visit. As a side note, I was really happy to see them open and properly following the COVID regulations today. Thank you so much!
The barista was rude and i felt like she hated her job. The worst service that i have ever experienced. Will never go back there again.
Happened upon this place by chance while looking for a nearby tea place.Great atmosphere, and the Chai Latte I ordered was excellent.Best of all was the service offered by Alex at the counter. He made an instant connection with every customer I saw enter and usually got at least one laugh out of people before they left. Keep up the great customer service!
So today is my wife and I anniversary and I wanted to make it special (we both have covid and are quarantined till the 7th) so I called around to look for her favorite drink the London Fog. I called around to a few other cafes around but Alex was the only gentlemen that made me feel confident he would get it done. He went above and beyond his line of work asking me to put his name down on my Grubhub order in order to ensure I got exactly what I wanted......and I never told him it was my anniversary. Thank you Alex.
I was literally told to leave immediately after I purchased a cappuccino today by an employee uttering my appearance isnt adequate along with another patron whom they deemed homeless because of her advanced age and style. I spend $5 - $10 each time I visit, and now told to not be present. Be prepared to not use the two wifi connections either. Be wary of cafes that force you to use your phone..
Um out of boba, but its listed on the front signage? Hows that happen
Very rude, unwelcoming owner. If you don’t order off the rigid limited menu, they will act very passive aggressively toward you.
Great coffee and pastry and theres a parking spot nearby.
Avocado toast is yummy! And get the purple drink.
I love this place. Best coffee shop in San Diego. Super chill vibe and the friendliest staff youll find anywhere this side of Venus.
Very disrespectful staff and not very tasty drinks
Alex was the only one working here when we arrived and he was polite all the customers and got everything done as efficiently as possible. Despite arriving at 5 in the morning for his shift oh, he still had the best attitude at 2 in the afternoon!! We thought he was the owner! I would be happy to have an employee like Alex!! Thank you! Oh and it was delicious too!
The tea was mediocre, at best. Not very full-bodied flavor or flavorful at all, and the service was even flatter than the tea flavor. Felt like I was bothering them. Wont be getting my business again.
Friendly and very helpful!!!!Vanilla is excellent!!!
Staff was cool an well spoken. I walked up an ordered from my phone while they banged out a couple orders an mine was done before I could even go over the place. Ill come back an bring my lady friend with me.
Love this place. The coffee is phenomenal, the boba tea was on point and the croissant was deliciously fresh. Definitely going back over and over.
Delicious food and wonderful coffee drinks with friendly service!
Great coffee (get a pour over! Its worth the wait and they know how to do it properly) and great breakfast sandwiches. The service is always warm and friendly.
I had a matcha ice latte with their freshly made almond milk absolutely amazing!!
Good milk tea
This place was good. I tried the Croque Madame and it was delicious. the place it self was very spacious. The line was out the door but it was worth it. my daughter had the French toast. that wasnt anything special but it was fine. I would go back and try something else next time.
Great coffee. Great flavor of food. Staff were nice.
Staff is very unfriendly
I had a delicious breakfast and coffee this morning. The egg and bacon croissant was cooked to perfection and my cappuccino was as good as I get anywhere. Can’t wait to go back soon!!
No inside service but great selection of teas and coffees.
My husband and I went to this place to get some bubble tea, the bubble tea was good but the customer service was bad. The guy that survived is was very rude.
Delicious food, served in good time, comfortable seating and atmosphere. We ordered pancakes, breakfast burritos and avocado toast...all excellent! Next time we are in San Diego, we will definitely eat breakfast here.
If you’re going to have 1 person working, then use an iPad to place orders so the staff can stick to preparing food instead of stopping to take orders. What should’ve been ready in 15 minutes took 40. Do not come here if you are on a time crunch!
Great Coffee!!
The workers are so sweet! Amazing experience 10/10 recommended! Boba is amazing too.
This is my favorite coffee shop by far. Me and my fiance had our first date here years ago and we still continue to come here today. The baristas are very friendly and always make you feel welcomed. And they always remember us even when were absent for long. A super cute, relaxing place I can (and have) spend hours at. Definitely a very special place for us! (Delicious food and drinks for a reasonable price too!)
The coffee was fantastic. The food was excellent and super generous with the portions. The staff was super friendly, and gave us a bunch of pointers on where we should go in San Diego.
Offering a thorough thoroughfare, Skybound offers tasty treats with a staff that cares. The Skys the limit when it comes to quality drinks and friendly service. My food even had a small mistake, but was handled expertly with Grace and appreciation. Will absolutely return.
Had dessert with my family and had great service and yummy Galetto choloccete. Something like that. Super friendly service. Thank you!
The manager is so friendly and the place is great. I think thats my favorite coffee shop in town. Highly recommended
I really like the atmosphere at this place. They had vintage Blues playing in the background and it had an open, inviting feeling. I got The Hulk smoothie bowl with spinach, kale, acai, strawberries, bananas, organic honey and granola. It was delicious and it gave me a huge boost of energy! The friendly guy behind the counter also recommended a wonderful white tea blend that Im in love with. I would have given them 5 stars but the girl behind the counter said something to me in a scolding manner that startled me a bit. There were many different ways she could have made the same point without being snarky. Overall a good experience though.
Excellent place. The people working there are very friendly. I loved their Purple tea
Awesome espresso. You can taste the roast. James will also not charge you for water refills! Jk :-D
Staff was super friendly, but unfortunately the food took an hour to come out after we ordered. Food was a 5/10. The coffee was great and came out quickly, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for the food.
Friend and I were coffeshop-hopping on an all-day writing spree and decided to try this place out. The service was amazing. He oriented us to the store, the menu, recommendations, etc. and really made us feel welcome. There was a really loud and disruptive group there at the same time and he handled them like a pro.The dessert and lava (lavender-vanilla) latte were both great, but together were very, very sweet! Will go back and get a more balanced combo probably. Otherwise, great experience.
Got a nice sandwich and a hot pot of tea for a reasonable price for the area. Nice seating and good free WiFi but the tables are wobbly so not the best for extended laptop use. Nice staff. Lots of coffee selections that I wont ever be able to test the entire variety of. Good to stop by to talk or for an easy going bite. They dont have any chicken sandwiches.
The barista was so sweet and friendly and despite the cafe not having a lot of food items (they were unaware of several conventions occurring at once) the nutella cold brew was amazing. Ive never had a better coffee in my life. I will be returning to try more drinks, food, and their desserts.
Service is very friendly. Sandwiches are good. Boba tea could be better.
Lovely place. We had the Avocado toast with the cafe mocha iced coffee and both were great. Very fresh ingredients used for the toast and great coffee flavor. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
Extremely overpriced for what you get. Buzzwords are everywhere in their menu, and they charge you for each one of them. Organic, locally sourced, and my favorite one, evaporated sugar cane. My bagel was dry in the middle and tasteless. The cream cheese was made in house and was good, but a bagel with cream cheese shouldnt cost 6 bucks. A better bagel at Tim hortons is 1.50 in Canada, and it gets served in 2 minutes rather than 13 as this one took.Ive had one orange juice, one bagel with cream cheese and one apple tart and the bill was 18 bucks. 6 for each item.Trust me, there are better places you can spend your money.
My fiancée and I were visiting San Diego and happened upon the Skybound Coffee + Dessert Lounge. We were served by Ellis, who was fantastic and had more than a few delicious suggestions for us. It was a great experience that we will repeat again next time we’re there!
Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. It has a good interior.
Very love this small coffee place. Nice ambience. Service is great and friendly. I discovered by accident and I came back every day until my departure. I strongly recommend if you are a coffee lovers :)Must stop!
Had really fresh double toasted bagels and a croissant with cream cheese that had fresh diced onion, cucumber and cilantro mixed in. Nice coffee too. They add 2 espresso shots by default. So if you like your coffee sweet and creamy do mention if you’d like only 1, whipped cream, no foam etc. They have a bottle of caramel syrup on a table in a corner, that you can help yourself to.Very friendly staff who listen to your order. I described the caramel macchiato from Starbucks and they executed it well.
Coffee was okay.
My favorite from Skybound, Purple Tea! Get the large, you wont regret it. Also this Cafe is the only one that will make me a no sugar added Acai bowl :) thank you Skybound! The staff deserves a raise, especially during comic con as youd think they were a huge chain that week and not a smaller Cafe downtown.Always my go-to spot. :)
Fine coffee and desserts. Welcoming decoration and super friendly staff. Highly recommended!
