I was so thankful to the piercer there... my nostril nose piercing had closed up or so I thought and I was intending to get it re-pierced but once she took a look at it she realize that it was not close at all and all she had to do was taper a needle through the hole... It didn’t hurt as much as it would’ve hurt to get it re-pierced it was quick.... and I’m happy to have my piercing back in she did an amazing job at not charging me any extra simply to taper the needle through the hole...

Went in spontaneously to get my ears pierced with my friend the other night. I had never had a piercing so I was super nervous but Joe really helped calm me down and made me comfortable. He was super sweet and made it a great experience. Very knowledgeable and talented, If youre looking for a good piercing or tattoo go here! :) 10/10

LOVE this shop and the artists!! Angela is amazing, I got a very personalized tattoo from her 6 years ago when I lived in San Diego. I was recently in town and had her add more to the design and could not be happier with how it turned out. She really pours her heart and soul into her work, I highly recommend Big City Tattoo!!

I choose Big City Tattoo because of its ease of access right off 805 at El Cajon Blvd. I got my first piercing from Gianna a few months ago. Gianna is very easy to talk to she makes even the most awkward moments or questions stress-free. I have returned six more times for more piercings. I plan to get at least two more from her in the future.Gianna takes her time and really plans your piercing; she really pays attention to what you want. I have asked for some piercings that are somewhat out of the norm. She spends the time to research what I was asking for to meet my needs. Her safety and sterilization protocols are beyond reproach. The client’s health and welfare is always at the front of her mind. She makes what I want to do easy and comfortable.It takes a special kind of person to do what she does and she is that special. I am grateful that she is my piercer.

Culleton was amazing! Since it was my first time getting a tattoo I was a little nervous but he made me feel comfortable. I was nervous about getting my first tattoo on my foot but when he started tattooing it was like “that’s it?” He has a gentle touch and you’re literally in good hands. His line work is clean and so is his work station. He is super funny and professional. He also did an amazing job!

Got my ears pierced. Great guy! Clean shop. Responsible. Take your kids here if youre going to pierce their ears. Every needle is clean and its safer than those piecing guns at mall shops.

Loved my experience here. Culleton is my artist and even though Ive relocated to another region in this country, I will be back to finish my piece. The way he took my vision and put it into a reality was jaw dropping. Not to mention, he had great taste in music. Those 4 hours flew by. I DEFINITELY WILL TRAVEL FOR GREAT ART!

I have not gotten a tattoo from this place, yet. But I wanted to share a story of my experience with a few of the folks from the shop.The past few years have been an incredibly trying time, and seemed to pack around September of last year. As I was feeling overwhelmed, I decided to take a walk around the block to clear my head. As I walked in front of the shop, Gia was sitting outside. She saw me, a complete stranger walk by clearly distressed and wearing it on my face. She stopped me and asked if I was ok. She sat me down and listened to me and gave me a moment of compassion and humanity I have not experienced in a long time. It truly meant a lot and was very comforting. I would sit and talk with her repeatedly for a few months after. Definitely touched me and left a reminder that there are truly great people still in the world.

My go to tattoo shop. I love the atmosphere and staff. Angela is the heart and soul of Big City. She really takes the time to get to know her customers and her creative process will turn your tattoo ideas into a masterpiece. Angela specializes in traditional hand-tapped tattoos as well, so if youre looking for that, this is your place. Staff was friendly and accommodating, gave full disclosure on safety and what to expect for my first tattoo. Everything went smooth and I love it. Culleton was a rad guy with some good stories to keep your mind off the pain

The tall woman did my septum piercing very unprofessional and didn’t do it on the right spot, it was just bad no clamps and crooked, don’t recommend at all her mask was dirty it was just bad please don’t go there...Took the piercing off right when I got home and I was in pain bleeding

Sua Suluape Angela did my piercing there. She was very informative with the entire process from consulting to care instructions. I felt absolutely comfortable with her and her shop. The best experience Ive had in San Diego at a tattoo/piercing shop.

Went there to get three girls tattooed... after we called and asked for availability, they said they had something immediately. When we got there they said we had to come back an hour later because they werent available. When we did come back the artist we talked to might have had good intentions but was still EXTREMELY rude and treated us like little kids. We never got the tattoos. They could have made a few hundred bucks in less than an hour for doing 3 super simple tatts but he threw it away due to poor customer service. Went down the street to body marks the guy there took care of us in 40 minutes and was super polite. Pretty sure we gave him a good tip for being all around better.

I had the honor of receiving my first tatau (hand tap tattoo) from Sua Suluape Angela. She is very knowledgeable, meticulous, a perfectionist, and one of kindest persons I have ever met. From the design, to the drawings, to the tatau sessions, it was an experience that I will never forget. All the tattoo artists make you feel welcomed and comfortable. There is nothing but good energy here.

Been looking forward to getting my Tatau * Polynesian hand-tap* by Sua Suluape Angela for a long while now and I am very happy with the work she has done as well with the experience you get while getting hit with a stick lol.
