Worst place for me and my car. Two months ago, this company incorrectly lifted my car on a lift and damaged two plastic door sills. Today I punched a tire near this service and I had to go back to them to repair the tire. After repairing the tire, when I had already left for home, I saw that there was no weight on the wheel. I had to go back to them. They said they forgot to put the weight on the wheel. They didnt even apologize. They just attached a weight to the wheel where it was hanging, did not remove the wheel and did not balance it! I paid $ 40 for a tire repair and received a terrible service and now have to go elsewhere and balance the wheel. I dont want to go to this place anymore. Worst service Ive ever had in my lifetime.

Do not go here. First there was a “discrepancy” with their pricing online from their shop compared to what was quoted. They said they would call me back….4 hours later, no returned call. I call back and make an appointment. After 1 1/2 hours of them having my vehicle, they miraculously only had 1 tire?!?! Not even an apology was given. I went to another place after and had great service and done promptly. DO NOT GO HERE. They don’t honor pricing or appointments and don’t appear to care either. Save your money and frustrations

Sometimes it’s just the small things. My car started having issues the morning I was suppose to return home to Utah. Jesus greeted me very kindly and figured the issue out with no issue. It was something I overlooked and needed a professional to figure out. Great service.

They couldn’t find my car make and model in their system so they were not even able to give me a quote! The guy at the desk was super stressed out and rude for no reason and couldn’t figure out how to give me a price for a basic oil change or tire rotation. I have a 2018 Ford EcoSport; a suuuuper standard car. What a waste of my time and energy. This place is the worst and definitely will NOT get my business.

Terrible brake job. Went and had my brakes replaced. within 2 weeks by emergency brake came on and within a day of that I had lost 90% of my stopping power. When I got the car back to big O that afternoon the guy said he cant deal with it right now and should make arrangements to bring it back. Left the car there anyways and had them diagnose that the brake line had come unattached. But the mechanic assured me that it wasnt them that did it. They dont mess with the brake line. He reattached it for free but charged me $100 to drain the line. Brakes are still not back to 100%. Also, my brakes chatter when I use them. Thought it was part of the brake line issue but it is still an issue. Just such a terrible job.

SHAWN WAS SO RUDE. He told me I needed a new tire when the nail in my tire was on the top of the tire. It was not on the side of the tire so I knew I didn’t need a new tire. He noticed my friend and I were a young girls and tried to scam us in getting a whole new tire. I’m visiting from NJ so I called my dad who is a mechanic and he said it’s fixable as well when I FaceTimed him. Then when I went back in to confront SHAWN he flipped out and kicked me out of the shop and told me to go somewhere else. He was mad because I called him out. So rude and unprofessional. Thank you to tire discount for just patching it up for me and not getting a new tire.

SHAUN IS TERRIBLE!!! I noticed a nail in my tire and went to get patchwork done. My dad is a mechanic so I called him and he told me all I needed was a plug. Shaun tried to scam me and tell me I needed a new tire because “I didn’t know anything, since I’m a woman.” I know he also noticed my license plates are from New Jersey and not California. When I went back in to confront Shaun, he freaked out on me and told me to leave because I called him out. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I filed a claim with the corporate office and this will be handled. DISCOUNT TIRE fixed my tire for me for FREE. Unreal.

I came in For just Brake Services, But With Jesus help, I was approved for a loan and was able to get more done on my car for Less👍🏽 He was a Big help and Im Glad I came here!

I came here to get my oil changed, as there was a $20 coupon online for a conventional oil change. I made an appointment online and arrived, but apparently they had called me earlier to tell me that they were short-staffed so the wait would be long. I made the appointment the morning of, so if youre short-staffed, dont allow appointments! In any case, I waited about 1.5+ hours for it (which wasnt bad considering its super close to the beach), and o was told of a bunch of problems with the car, one of which is that two of the tires are down to 0 read and need to be changed ASAP. I made an appointment with Costco the nest day to get them changed and then was told I have at least 20k miles on the tires still. What a waste of time, Big O! Good try in capitalism, its so sad. Also, out of the two people inside, one of them wasnt wearing a mask during covid. Seriously?! Dont come here, theyre not covid safe AND they try to rip you off, terrible.

I just left Big O - had new rear tire put on. I went by my mechanic to him do ALL the items that a great customer service place would have done WITHOUT asking: -put wheel cap back on the tire they replaces, put the spare back which they said they checked, but air was a 5 lbs!! As a matter of fact, all tires were well below the noted air on the tires! They seemed more worried to up sell me for an alignment than doing the basics on my tires! WOW, first and last time with BIG O!

We went for break inspection the front desk person was so rude.there Was nobody in the shops he gave me all kinds of excuses not to do anything. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE OWNER OR THE COMPANY THAT HE WORKS FOR.

I made an appointment to fix my car, when I got there, they printed a paper asking $140 just to diagnose a small problem. I had to take few hours off work for this... I did not accept it and I wish they would have told me that in advance.

My tire light came on today and I stopped by Big Oto ensure everything was ok. They filled them back up, reset my light, and taught me how to reset the light myself in the future. All at no cost, I will be back when I’m ready for new tires!

Had issues with finding and inputting fleet information for repairs. With that, they couldnt start and complete services needed in a timely manner.

I generally go to Big O Tires to get my old tires taken off and new ones mounted. Price is cool. People are usually pretty nice...Now I’ve never been greeted. Today, I was greeted by Jesus. It was the first time I’ve been input into the system, this doesn’t matter to me but I was thrown off when asked for my information. Not a problem. A gentlemen came in behind me... I was put off to the side immediately. Not sure why, knowing this job wouldn’t take more than a couple minutes. I wait...Jesus comes back in to tell me the wait will be a hour and a half to dismount the old and mount 1 new tire. As I’ve stated before I’ve came in a bunch (I live less than a mile away) AND I’m usually in and out in no more than 10 minutes. Before leaving, I went inside to read/take a copy of what I signed and I was refused the “work order. “I ended up getting the work done @ Tire Express in Linda Vista right down the street. Price is slightly cheaper (it’s not about the money), they treat customers/guests like normal people, work was fast...service you would expect. I work in the automotive industry.. I’ll never recommend big o tires to anyone every again. Thanks for your time.-Shane

Horrible experience. Went for an oil change, payed extra for topping off fluids and other safety checks. Learned that they charged me extra and didn’t complete the service. Had to top off my own fluids. Will never go there again. Privately owned crooks running the place.

I have shopped at this Big O Tires for over 5 years. They are very personable and professional. Always do great work, with no pressure. I dont feel like Im being sold up. Plus, I get rebates and free financing with my Big O Credit card. I highly recommend this store.

Went to get my front two tires replaced. While they were working on it they called me saying my back tire had a bubble and would need to be replaced. I had a weird feeling so I took my car to another shop for a second opinion - there was absolutely Nothing wrong with my either of my back tires. They were trying to scam me into replacing a perfectly good, new tire! Very sad that this business is preying on its customers :(

I went in for a flat tire. I left with 4 new tires. They never once offered me a warranty on the tires, never once offered me the “free alignment check” that they always advertise and gave me NO options on what tires I could choose from. Just slapped some bottom of the barrel tires on there, charged me over $400 and sent me on my way. If they had done the “free alignment check” they would have realized that my car actually did need alignment so back I went. They gave me an alignment, charged me $100 and sent me on my way. AGAIN my car was pulling to the right so I brought it back yet again. They flipped the front tires and sent me on my way. I haven’t driven far enough to know if it’s pulling to the right or left again, but I will never go back, and I highly recommend you steer clear as well. Pathetic customer service by not giving me an option on my tires or asking me if I wanted the free alignment check and an even worse job on the services they performed on my vehicle. My cars Power steering feels like they messed with it too. Probably so I’ll go back and spend more money on that. Absurd that this place is still open. Ridiculous.

I went to Big O Tires because my tires were not properly balanced . Big O balanced and rotated all four tires for less than $25. They did an excellent job and my Sonata is now fun to drive again . Thanks guys !

For the longest time I was trapped buying tires from a nationwide tire chain company, due to the fact that I LOVE to travel a lot. I have to buy from a nationwide company, thinking there was nobody else! And behold I found big O tires!!First I would like to start with David as many questions as I had I was nagging and naggin and nagging, him, more than what he’s used to I’m sure lol 😂 . And Shawn got round two 😳 from me.🤭I hope anyone in search of great service and corporate reads this!These two guys dealt with my 101 questions and not once did they show frustration which would’ve been perfectly fine with me. But fortunately I got no attitude from either one, just nothing but pure 100% amazing customer service. I can sincerely say the best service than the last tire company I’ve been going to for over 15 years. Needed tires for my 4runner at a good price, they have payment options with good credit so i got all 4 toyo tires and warranty for 3 years at a good price. I have put about 5300 miles since I got them a few months ago, no issues. they are quick and do a good job at not damaging your rims

I dont trust anyone else to service the tires on my 1949 Ford F1 truck. They continue to provide me with the service that you expect to receive (but dont get anymore at other establishments!) Their patience and competence impresses me the most.Always friendly and polite. And that goes a long ways these days!Very HIGHLY recommended!

I had just got into town from Arizona and discovered I had a flat tire. When I googled a tire repair shop, Big O was the closest. When I drove up they were packed. I asked them if they had time to fix my tire. The got me in, my tire was unrepairable, but they sold me a new one, put it on, and I was back to enjoying my vacation in about an hour. I appreciate them so much!!

Before I knew it I was handed an estimatefor over $1300.00I needed new struts, new shocks, and a alignment. Best part a water pump. Water pump was not leaking nor the car over heating!Then the gentlemen showed me the shocks and wiped is finger on them and said,see how they are leaking? My response I dont see any thing.I left their shop immediately.!!!!! 😡Fast forward 1 week I took my car to Big O tires in La Mesa. They told me there is nothing wrong with your car. The suspension is great! I had an alignment done and the car drives like a dream.

I loved that they could tell me what was wrong with no pressure for me to fix it if it wasnt immediately necessary. This helps me trust them more than other places, including the dealership. Thanks guys!They seemed a little stressed out. Possibly short staffed.

Dont bring your business here if you want to get a fair price on parts, and NEVER get your brakes replaced here. I was charged $115 just for front brake pads (Normally $30-$40)- not including labor. I asked Jesus about this outrageous markup. He offered to give me a lesson on how business works and then suggested they remove the parts they just replaced.

Had my tire pressure light come on my trip to San Diego from Arizona. The guys (Shaun/Peter) checked everything right away and gave me a green light to travel home safe. I love Big O, they are always friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot!

Great service! I was going on a last minute emergency trip to Santa Barbara. I needed an oil change and new tires. They were busy that day, but they got me in and out in LESS THAN AN HOUR! I went to other places nearby and they told me 3 hours minimum. Not only did this place get me in and out faster, the price was cheaper than the other guys.

Took my car in for alignment after I installed new struts, control arms, bushings, and ball joints.The service turned out better than I expected.Well done, Big O, well done!

Recently bought a tire there that started leaking. The front desk person tells me they can do nothing to fix it because I never purchased a warranty. I ask if there is basic coverage and then he says yes after I probed. Puncture right on the edge of some made up line of what they will repair and call and tell me they wont replace it. Do not offer me to get a new tire to pay for. When I show up just hand me the keys and offer me no service. Never going back. Learning corporate mechanics are overpriced and lack experience.

The staff was friendly and pleasant, and called within a few hours to confirm that I needed new brakes. On this call, they also suggested I get a new battery and new air filter. I authorized the brakes and air filter, but declined on the battery. When I picked up my car the next day, I discovered that they had indeed given me a new battery anyway, at about twice the price I have paid in the past for car batteries, and charged labor for its installation. I was disappointed and angry that they had blatantly disregarded my instruction, causing me to pay twice the price that I was expecting for the services I actually needed and authorized.

In new mexico state, my father always went the big O tires for his trucks alot. he is right about the tires are great for ranch and off road. i got my own new tires from the big O tires for my truck. brand is big foot tires, i love those . thanks shanu for service my trucks.... thumb ups

I had a slow leak in my right front tire. Turned out a piece of wood had managed to punch a hole right through the middle of the tire. Big O patched the tire for a reasonable price and had me in and out in 20 mins. The staff was friendly, competent, and didnt try to sell me anything else. They just patched the tire and got me on the road.

Knowledgeable and easy going staff. I trust them with both of my cars and one of them is almost ten years old and still running like new. Definitely recommend them.

Went into the Pacific Beach location for an oil change for my wrangler. I called first to see if I could use the $29.99 coupon, told them what type of car I had and they said yes. When my BF dropped it off they told him it would be $90! Way more than I had EVER paid for an oil change in my life. When I approached the desk associate about it the guy stared at me blank face and I was forced to pay it. Stay far away from this place, bunch of crooks.

I bought 2 tires from them today. First they tried to upsell me on belts, brakes and a battery when I had gotten it checked the day before at Jiffy Lube with no problems. I declined, of course. Then one of the guys there says hey it will just be a few more minutes, the alignment is a bit off, so well get that fixed up for you here. It sure sounded like it was a minor thing that came with the price of the tires. Get my bill, $89.99 extra for the alignment that I was NEVER quoted and NEVER agreed to. When I questioned the charge, the managers solution was to not charge me, but to realign my car so it was out of balance again! How is that a solution? Do the service twice, charge me zero, and have me leave with an even more out of alignment car probably. Scam artists. Go somewhere else for your tires and service.

Arrived on Sat at 2:20 with store closing at 4pm. Told by person behind the counter that they are not accepting any more work and that they are closing at 3pm instead. Left initially and then decided to go back and get the persons name. Chris proceeded to fall all over himself asking if he could take care of me and that he was sorry and could rotate my tires after all. I chose to leave instead and will take my business elsewhere in the future to get tires for the 5 cars in my family. Btw, parking lot was completely empty and half the bays were empty also at the time. Costly decision.

I went here because my breaks werent working properly. They found a leak on my back right passenger tire where brake fluid was leaking, tightened it, and flushed out my system and that was it! They didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need, which is always my fear because Im a girl and dont know a lot about cars. I had a wonderful experience talking with the manager in the office while waiting for my car and will go back with any car troubles I have in the future!

Nothing as changed from below: Ive removed the tires and theyre sitting in my garage. 0/10On Friday April 27th, 2018 I went into Big-O seeking the following 2 services: 1) 4 replacement tires and 2) wheel repair to address some curb rash that had occurred over the years. My car is a 1998 Mercedes SL600.The previous owner had fitted tires which did not fit the car properly and I asked MANAGER 1 who greeted me, to ensure that we had a size that would properly fill out the wheel well. Since I dont know the first thing about tire sizes, I deferred to him and he recommended a Sumitomo tire which would do just this.On the rims MANAGER 1 said the dont do that on site, but said he had a sub-contractor who could do the work. I asked if hed used the sub-contractor before, and he adamantly said he would vouch for them.As this was Friday, he told me to expect the car to be ready Monday or Tuesday of the following week.On Tuesday Big-O called me and said there had been a delay with the work on the rims and he had not received them back. I told him that was fine, and that they could take their time to ensure they did a good job, and he assured me that they would.On Wednesday I received another call from Big-O and spoke to MANAGER 1 who informed me the car was ready to be picked up, and I said I would be in that afternoon.When I arrived at Big-O I immediately recognized that the tires fitted were not what I expected: they were visually clearly too small for the wheel well. When we walked out onto the lot, it was clear that MANAGER 1 was hoping I would find them acceptable, but he could tell they didnt fit. I voiced my concern, recalling our conversation that hed said they would look better and he reluctantly agreed. Later, MANAGER 1 admitted that he had not seen the car since the rims had arrived and the tires fitted, which for me explained his reaction.We then continued to walk around the car, and we both immediately recognized new damage to the rims: there were clear grinder impressions where the workman had apparently slipped and caused damage to the rim. The recessed portion of the rim is a sort of smoked grey finish, and that was where the most obvious damage had been done. MANAGER 1 recognized this damage, and even tried to rub it out with a bit of spit shine, to no avail.I wrote the full account, but the abridged version is that when I finally left, the balance was off and the car is pulling to the right. I went back, they told me theyd missed the balance (what?) and that the alignment was done but because the car had loose bearings it was pulling. It wasnt pulling when I brought it in, and loose bearings? Come on: that wouldnt cause a consistent pull to one side.As of this moment, the car is fitted with unmatched ill-fitting tires which were highly recommended, and is undrivable with the alignment. I was told I would get a call back about this today, and havent heard anything.I dont know what to do at this point, and I am spending a lot more time and physical and mental energy on this than I ever expected.I am typically a pretty easy to please customer: Ive worked in restaurants, hotels, and customer service jobs for a good portion of my life, so I am sympathetic and patient with people who are just trying to do their best to help me. But this is unprecedented in my life. This is now repeated and consistent pattern of saying one thing and having another happen: 1) getting the right tire size? Nope. 2) the rims being a good job? Nope, and theyre actually worse. 3) The balance and alignment #1? 4) The alignment #2? Nope. 5) Simply calling me back? Nope.I was thinking of a scenario where you would probably be fine with Big-O, but the bottom line is that if you rely on your car to get around (so yeah, most of us) I wouldnt risk this again. Im going on week 3 of getting new tires, and quite frankly the end isnt in sight.

I found this place on google. They have a discount for San Doego residents. When I called in, the person I talked to over the phone, the same that serviced me when I got there, told me that the synthetic oil would be about $48 USD plus taxes and without the discount for SD residents. I ended up paying $61 USD with the discount for the same service.It was definitely a rip off and would not recommed anyone to go to this place. There’s oil changes done way more cheaper than this one and without someone telling you lies to get you there.
