After reading a few of the negative comments, I thought about my experiences there. Not once was anybody rude to me and any questions I had they were knowledgeable. And yes, I’m knowledgeable as well. However, everyone has a bad day so I can see it happening. A bit pricey but if you know how to cook, you’ll get your money’s worth. If you understand the difference in quality meats, this is the place. If you don’t care or do not understand, do not bother. Take your time and learn. Overall, 5/5. Their salsas were fantastic as well.Attached are the Delmonico Steaks and Short Ribs I purchased from there. Hands down the best steaks I have ever made and had. I made a lasagna with the short ribs is they just fell apart after a low simmer for 3 hours in the sauce. Fantastic!

Some of the very best meats in San Diego! I love getting high quality meats there! We also found exotic meats there - wild boar and elk, some others, too. Sausages are amazing!! Great for Celiac Disease/ gluten sensitivity because there are never fillers - its pure meat, baby!!

Best place for meat, hands down! Steaks are amazing, ribs and bacon are excellent. Some of the pre-marinade meats are really good but I prefer to let the quality of the meat do the talking. Pay a little extra compared to other butchers, its worth it. Its the best in SD.

I think this bone is meant for a Great Dane or a Lion 🦁 way to big for our 60 pound golden.This our our go to place for raw bones 🦴 the selection is good they do carry other things in the dog freezer it changes time to time .Oh yea the also carry human food here too like really good cuts of meats like the tomahawk steak 🥩 massive but delicious.

Smokin Joes BBQ on the weekends was awesome! I was able to impress the father-in-law! As for the store itself, Iowa Meat Farms and its sister store Seisels are they best meat markets in town. Their Prime Rib makes me look like a superstar when I bring it to a family holiday. All the meat the provide is top shelf. In addition to their solid meat selection they have massive amounts of uniques hot sauces, pasta sauces, BBQ sauces and the likes. I was even able to buy some hard to find drinks like bubble-up.

There was a line to get in, but that wasnt a surprise 3 days before Christmas during COVID. The line went pretty quickly though. We love coming here for the quality and selection of meat. Ordered a prime rib ahead of time and pick up was quick and easy.

Great place with a great crew that runs the shop. They have it all, whether you are looking for Choice, Prime, or Dry Aged cuts they have them all. They also have a good poultry and pork section too. They are extremely helpful and informative about how to properly prepare and cook anything they sell.

A! MAZING!! To say the least. Im from Iowa, born and raised. It wasnt until I began travelling outside of the midwest before I started appreciating midwestern meats. Having lived in California for a few months now, Iowa Meat Farms is a Godsend for meat eaters!!! The meat anywhere outside of the midwest, (no offense), is terrible. I never realized or appreciated the flavorful juiciness and marbling of midwest meat until I ledt home. I almost became pescatarian until I found, Iowa Meat Farms, here in San Diego! The prices are fair considered their meats are imported all the way from Iowa and Nebraska. I picked up some top sirloin steaks, which were on sale, and they were SO delicious!!! I felt like I was back in Iowa eating a home cooked meal. Im so glad I dont have to change my eating habits now that I have a little piece of Iowa, here in in San Diego. The butchers were so friendly and helpful, youd think they were transplants from the Midwest too!! Nutrition is a vital part of our health. The way meat is raised is what makes it healthy or unhealthy. Rest assured, you will get the best of both healthy and phenomenally delicious, when you shop from Iowa Meat Farms!!

Sorry for no pictures, but there is already plenty on other reviews.Its very difficult to find steak shops/butchers around here with higher end quality meat. They had a great variety for the steak aficionados, ribeye, newyork stripes, the tomahawk steaks. Dry ages. The staff was extremely friendly and it was a great little store with many local items as well. Reminds me of an Ace hardware but much nicer ajd just food. This has been added to my No.1 location to go to buy quality cuts of meat.

This place is the best! They always have what I need, and they have great customer service. This is the store I go to for all my meaty needs.

The only bad thing I have to say is there were too many good choices... Tons of meats from butcher cut to preseasoned meats ... Very good cuts, courteous staff and super delicious. There is also a smoked meats stand outside ... I will try them next time and edit this review. Be warned that the prices arent what youd find Im a supermarket, but the quality was well worth the higher costs. You will not be disappointed.

I have never been disappointed with any special order through the meat department. The staff in Iowa Meat Farms establishment are customer service oriented. I would like to give an extra mention about one of the butchers, Jarrett. I went in to check on a special order that he had been following for me through this pandemic. His handling of the order was above and beyond in my book. I say that because I am a stickler for customer service and he was exceptional. Thank you Jarrett and thank you Iowa Farms for employing people like him! Blessings!

Best butchers shop in San Diego. An absolute nuts assortment of protein options all of which are very high quality. It trends expensive but its absolutely worth it for weekend barbecue or a special occasion.

Worst service by some irritated employee who should probably get a job somewhere like the DMV. I called and was put on hold and I know everyone is short staffed but I get the feeling after being on hold for ten min I can simply call back just to ask if they are too busy for a quick question then I could simply come in... This girl begins to huff and puff as if I wasnt understanding that they were busy... which I was... simply wanted to know if they carried rabbit... she still sighs at me about it... yikes. Ill go somewhere else if my first time experiencing an employee there goes so poorly.

First experience wasnt a pleasant one.Even though the shop wasnt busy, the workers behind the counter were. I felt rushed to make my selection and my first question about cuts was met with either a lie or a lack of knowledge, Im not sure which but, unprofessional either way. I received short answers after I contested the answer.At that point, I decided not to purchase more and took my selection and left.The dry age meat is excessively priced, I will update my review tonight after trying the dry-aged ribeye.Update: The dry-aged ribeye was nothing special, definitely not worth $50/lbThe only reason this is 2 star instead of 1 is the large selection. I am most likely not returning, definitely not for dry-aged meat if I do return.

The mecca of meats! Came in for the first time and I thought I was never going to leave. So much to look at! This is the only place to grab the best meat around! We drove all the way from Wildomar to grab some ground sirloin, worth the drive and the line! Ground Camel anyone? Wild boar? the selection will keep you coming back! 🐗🐪🦆

Very nice and helpful people. The meat and fish are good here, and they have the red wine cheese I loved and havent been able to find in years. Theres a lot of unique meats here as well, and we were able to get lots of bone marrow to make gravy with for Christmas eve dinner.

This is an excellent butcher shop. Not only do they sell meats but also charcoal and other grilling accessories. The staff is friendly and helpful, all you have to do is ask and theyll make it happen. They also have a walk in beer cooler that has many local beers. I do wish they sold Prime cuts of meat. Most of the meat there is Choice but is still very flavorful. Exotic meats are also sold there. I would recommend this place.

I have to agree with jhavoc...I have been in the customer service field for about 25 years. I know how stressful things can get when business is at an unusual high. And I know how some customers can really grind your gears! But I always treat my customers individually. I dont take out the frustration of 1 bad customer on all the rest! This woman behind the meat counter is SOUR GRAPES!I try to treat everyone with a sincere automatic respect, all I ask is that I get the same. If Im being unreasonable or if I treat you poorly, I deserve your attitude. But I dont know if Ill go back now. I have other options closer to me where I get better service!

Great selection and quality of meats. The reason for the 2 stars is only because of 1 employee, an older lady who is behind the meat window to help customers. She of rude and always makes it very difficult to understand our order. I have been here 3 times and she helped us two of those times with the same stinky attitude. I gave feedback to another gentlemen handling meat and the cashier who acknowledged that is how she is. We have been buying in bulk since the quarantine which is about 12-15 pounds of meat about other items but after this last visit Im done, going somewhere else. Tried asking another meat prep to help instead of her but they just looked at us pointed to her.

You know it is an old fashion butcher shoppe, really! I mean I go in get waited on and really feel like I am in a butcher chop. Their meats are superb! I drive 20 miles to get here! It is worth it!

Everything from rabbit to camel burgers can be found here. The meat is sooo much better than that in the regular grocery store both in quality and flavor! Just go there for yourself and marvel at the selection of foods that are offered!

Iowa Meats is busy today but is staffed by an efficient crew. Not more than a 20 minute wait and my order was ready for me. They could use a larger parking lot but they got me in and out as quickly as possible. I highly recommend this place. The product is pricey but top quality!

Wonderful meatballs and a variety of marinated & seasoned meats/poultry. Fantastic assortment of spices assortment of spices, oils, sauces, mustard, a gourmets paradise. Wide variety of cheeses & wine, delicious dips...you just have to go and experience it for youself.

We had been looking for a good local meat shop for a couple years and we finally found Iowa Meat Farms! They have specialty meats, spices, beer, and everything else you would expect from a quality meat shop. Prices are great and service is always exceptional. Highly recommended, the only wish I have is that they had homemade jerky.

This place is expensive but u get what you pay for!! Ive been getting my roasts and ribs here for the last 18 years and not the grocery store. Almost everything here is “USDA Prime” which is the top of the line grade meat. They will dress it for you, season it, tie it, etc just ask. All you have to do is pop it in the oven or throw it on the bbq. I have never had a bad experience with their food. They also have kabobs, chicken, pork, steaks, turkeys, ...cheese from all over the world, a big selection of wine, seasonings, some vegetables, sides, etc. if you plan on hosting a nice dinner, you must try this place. You won’t be disappointed. Everyone is very friendly and very helpful.
