This lounge is what made me fall in love with hookah not only as an art but a serious hobby for myself. Art lounge offers an inviting atmosphere where you will be offered a new lounge experience not currently provided at any other “lounge” in San Diego. Here you are welcomed to sit back and de-stress from the downtown madness. The hookah master does an excellent job of always preparing an exciting new mix every time I visit, while pairing it with delicious selection from their wide variety of hot tea. If you are looking for a classy true lounge experience Art does it right!

I used to have my own hookah place in Florida and I have never had that good hookah. It is so smooth and tasty. I can say that in this place the best hookah in the U.S. I have ever tried. The design is perfect to relax and have a good time with your friends. Highly recommended.

Love Love this place! amazing hookah, food and the ambiance is so chill, it’s a great place to go unwind.My only But: customer service is not good, at all... the waiters never come to the table and ask if you need anything else, and when you call on them they always seem upset for a reason...I have been checking other hookah places instead but i really love the ambiance they have here, although they cut off alcohol a couple of months ago... don’t know why, that was a real bummer...

Really enjoyed the hookah here, we had a Special Glass Hookah with the red grapefruit bowl and went for a fruity/fresh flavor since they dont have specific flavors but they can make many mixes based on what you are looking for. The staff was very knowledgable and polite throughout the whole night. We also got a Jasmine tea for four with honey and sugar on the side. As for the price, the Special Glass Hookah was the most expensive since as they explained it was a lot easier to smoke but they also offered the Regular and the Art Hookah as well for a lower price. I will definetly come back during our next visit to San Diego and take a little more time to pick different things since they do have a different selection of bowls and base fillings to choose from.

Amazing Lounge. Great Prices and products available. As an avid hookah smoker it’s amazing to finally go to a lounge that 1. Knows how to pack bowls 2. Actually uses quality hookah stems, bowls, hoses, and HMD’s. Usually I don’t bother going to a lounge because I can always smoke at home but Art Hookah Lounge is the first lounge where I feel like I’m actually paying for a service I wouldn’t get elsewhere. It’s nice to be able to sit back and not have to worry about getting my hookah ready or dealing with coals. Glad I was able to have tangiers in this lounge. Art and design of lounge was well done and the mural of Hookah Boss was also pretty cool. I’d recommend this to anyone in the San Diego area.

We enjoyed the bar drinks as well as the food it was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I had so much fun here! And will be back the next time.

Cool vibe had a ball talking & doing hookah

After coming here consistently for about a month this is the only place I can find peace of mind and take the time to think, and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff are very accommodating, understanding and polite. You may have to get up to ask for extra things after the original order but Its definitely better than being asked left and right if everything is okay. The tea and hookah never disappoint. The overall vibe is very relaxing. The majority of the seating is very comfortable, and even the music compliments the overall relaxing vibe.

Came here on a Saturday night, wow they were packed but they were still accommodating to our group of 7. Service was solid and the hookah is amazing! I asked them why do the hookahs here taste so good and they managed Alex told me they use high end hookahs called regals. If you smoke hookah and you haven’t been here then do your self a favor and come ASAP!!!!

This is a bad experince overall.We checked their webpage which says they have happy hour pricing till 7PM.When we got checked out he said there is no happy hour. We never got our receipt so we check the prices.Very unwelcomed atmosphere.Poor customer service.

Absolutely loved this place.If youre looking to have a nice chill time with a small group of friends while having the chance to play some board games, this is the place.Unlike most other loud places on Gaslamp, this place has a calm positive vibe while adhering to mighty high standards with respect to quality.We called for a Regular Hookah that lasted for about 45 minutes till the first coal change [which is commendable] and then decided to shell another 12$ on a refill [Totally worth it, given how strong they make these]. Our servers were nice and polite and never hesitated once when we asked them for a coal change [which we did multiple times]. There was ample seating which was refreshing to see on a Friday night in the busiest district in Downtown San Diego. While we didnt venture into board games, we could see other larger groups trying their hand at some of them provided by the cafe.The one call-out I do have is that this place doesnt serve whiskey or hard liquor. None the less a brilliant place if youre looking to get away from all the noise and have a good meaningful time with a small group.

Hookah was one of the best Ive had. It was clean and smooth. The hot chocolate was amazing. The only issue I had was our server. He was rude and was playing with his necklace or was on his phone when talking to us. The other staff were super nice and kind.

Art Hookah Lounge is one of the best hookah lounges in San Diego. The service is super awesome. The hookahs are really good also. Me my friend come here every now and then. One time the hookah wasnt on point so they changed it immediately without any extra charge. They take really good care of the customers. Keep up the good work guys.

We are very picky with our Hookah. This is by far the best hookah lounge we have ever been to! Highly recommend. We even went down the street to try Myst Lounge and it is no where near this good. Read the reviews on Google so we gave this place a try, there was no line outside. We were after a table for three until the waiter said it was all reserved, we then pointed out the two spares tables on the left and the server said if youre willing to spend 100 USD then well let you sit. Very unacceptable. Would not recommend even if its just for a smoke.

They have great, and I mean VERY smooth, hookah along with over 200 flavors. The staff there arent typical at your service with big smiles but thats ok because I really rather be left alone to smoke, talk, and mind my own business until I need their assistance. Its quiet in there even during the weekend after all the drunks come in- it has an atmosphere that demands it. Its a very roomy, quiet, loungey and studious place.

This place has such a chill vibe! My husband and I were visiting SD and ended up coming here to unwind two evenings in a row. The hookah is good... The glass hookah is pretty cool looking. We checked in on Yelp and got a discount.

Stopped in here in July 15 and its a beautiful lounge with chill music and very high quality hookah equipment. They have glass Art Hookahs and i think Regal hookahs with high quality funnel bowls (i think from hookahjohn) and natural charcoal. Better than all of that was the service. Dennis took great care of us from 1-3am or so! He mixed up some delicious non-alcoholic beverages for us that were really tasty. Would definitely go back.

Came here early afternoon on a weekday. Quiet Atmosphere, Service was nice, the food and hookah menu was large, and if you dont know exactly what you want, they can blend up a flavor based on a few questions, which is pretty neat. I would definitely come back with more friends

This place is AMAZING and always my go-to spot when Im in town. The hookah is phenomenal; Sasha definitely knows what hes doing. The servers are not the best and arent as attentive/customer service oriented, but the hookah and the hookah maker are so great I dont usually mind. Highly suggest this place.

Super chill place. Ive never been to a hookah lounge nd was a but skeptical but this place exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The lattes were amazing nd presented so well! Nothing is halfassed here lol the hookah was a bit expensive but for the service and quality you get here, its worth it in my opinion. They have so many flavors that its nearly impossible to list them in a menu so they just ask you questions to narrow down what you want. First they asked if you want the regular hookah or the ice bowl. Then they ask wether you want sweet or sour, with or without fruit, ect. We order the ice bowl with melon and vanilla icecream and BOY! It was so smooth and so good!! I havent tried other hookah places but this is definitely something to try in San Diego!

I visited this lounge with my girl end of January 16. Spacious. Well designed. Not only the hookah was deep and tasty, we also learn some history and hookah traditions from friendly staff members. Recommend.

The waiter refused to let us as we dont have our Passports with us to confirm our age, though we look over 21, also we have our international driving license as well.. Even after we showed him our Passport photo on our phones, but he kept refusing letting us in. Yes hes following orders and laws, but he should at least accept the passport photo from our phones. I mean its not logic to carry my passport from the hotel everywhere I go.Really disappointed 😞

This place has great shisha Im biased because I know the owner of Tangiers, but I found this place a hit or miss Ive been there twice when Im in town the first time was great but it was during the weekend great service rid of tension not letting your Bowl die. But the last time I went was like a week ago hows the worst service Ive ever had in any hookah lounge Ive been, Ive been smoking a hookah for at least 13 years and I worked out because I was before. What I mean this is the worst service it was, my bowl died at list 5 times, if you smoke hookah regularly you know its very hard to reheat up a cold bowl it doesnt taste the same. the server could even stop by check on us not even once he was occupied talking with the other employees,and my group actually have to get up to call him over to bring us fresh coals. I know it was a Monday night but there was customers there besides us.I recommend to go during the weekend, besides that I wouldnt waste my time during the week unless they change there staff

Amazing experience with world class hookah

No air conditioning, too Smokey inside and there are no fans to clear the smoke out, it feels way to hot as if Im sitting in a sauna and I havent even been here for 5 minutes. Absolutely horrible I cant even stay seated without wanting fresh air. I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. Will not be coming back.

Its a nice, cost environment with a good sized menu; you can get food or drinks along with your hookah. The hookah is good and the service attentive. Its a little expensive given the location, and if you arent a frequent hookah smoker then the smoke inside can be a little overwhelming at first.
