Brickyard is a very cool Cafe directly across from the Seaport Village tram stop. The exterior is brick with nice artwork inside and a comfy atmosphere for Coffee, breakfast and lunch(closes at 2pm daily). The coffee is top notch and my bacon breakfast burrito was the best Ive had in San Diego this year so far-hot, well seasoned with yummy fresh salsa.Service by Guillermo was outstanding- he is courteous, prompt and efficient.Brickyard makes my top 10 list for San Diego Coffee and Breakfast specialty Cafes.
Rookie.Asked why they close at 1000 daily and was told, “just dead around here in the afternoon”. Seemed like the employees were just more eager to have us be in and out of their cramped, overly hot space.Coffee tasted burnt, had the hammerhead and tasted weak as well.Place has so much potential, cool space, fun vibes, GREAT location. Completely missing the mark. Would love to see this place be the go-to local spot, but instead the line at Starbucks is long and this place is empty.
Beautiful location and prompt staff. I only got an iced coffee so there wasnt a lot I could talk about.
Great burritos and coffee. Sweet atmosphere and kind staff
It was closed at 11am on a Saturday… so I’m not sure if the hours are wrong or…?
Iced coffees and Americano were excellent. Great location in small adaptive reuse space with ambience. Can imagine how busy this place would be were it not for COVID-19.
It was such a great coffee time. I went with this coffee shop to improve my energy level and to be more productive.
Everyone there us so friendly and the food is delicious!!
Prices were good for how much you get. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I loved to visit.
Good coffee quality and I really love it.
This unassuming little coffee and tea shop is not as flashy as some of the other places in the area, but it has some phenomenal breakfast food. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere. I recommend both the breakfast burritos and the veggie bake. Other stuff looked great as well, but we didnt try it. The folks working her are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
If you dont like me and youre the type of person who likes your coffee strong then this is the place for you. They can make any requests they could do anything with coffee and make it as strong as you like. My thought kind of fact is that the best cup of coffee is the coffee that will make your hair stand up. If it doesnt do that then it aint strong enough. Straight espresso isnt strong enough in some cases and this place when you stay strong they bring it kudos to post rookie Brickyard Coffee
Ive been coming to Brickyard Coffee & Tea for several years now. Not only is this place always filled with pleasant people, great baristas and run by two charming owners, its the best coffee in town! Countless times I take that first sip of a latte and am blown away by how good it is. I love this place.Brickyard Coffee & Tea
Everyone at our table was quite pleased. menu is like a place in san francisco i loved.
Found the cappuccino on the bitter side, not deep and rich. Breakfast burrito passable but nothing to write home to mother about. So my rating is meh. Or as my Chinese friends say, ma ma ho ho
Good prices and very generous portions for both breakfast and lunch. Also very conveniently located near many hotels and around more expensive places. I would definitely go back
We enjoyed breakfast. Was nicely decorated and it tasted very good. Setting is beautiful angel service is friendly. Prices are reasonable. They also have some healthy choices (low carb
Service here is great! I’ve been here multiple times and have loved everything ordered. Nice little spot in seaport village right by the trolly station.
Excellent, fresh coffee and amazing homemade breakfast burritos with delicious salsa. Prices are reasonable. This is a small place right near the trolley station.
This place is super cute and cozy! I slipped in really quick before a interview and place immediately caught my eye off the trolley station. Super friendly service with lots of different coffee options and yummy pastries as well. Has a very homey feel to it and makes you feel like home away from home. My partner drinks coffee and says this place was way better than Starbucks. I reccomend this place to anyone in the neighnorhood. This place is also def worth going out of your way to get too, to enjoy some good company and great food.
Looking from the outside of the building you might just see a simple coffee shop but once you walk in and taste their food you will be amused. Delicious food, decent amount and great presentation. Super friendly staff as well.
A hidden gem with some great tasting coffee and a small selection of pastries and foods. I got the New Orleans cold brew. Its got roasted chicory, sugar cane, and milk in it. So good and very smooth!
Cute little coffee spot that has surprisingly amazing breakfast, lunch/brunch food. If you like basil pesto, I recommend the San Diego Panini. Its a little bit more pricey than I usually shoot for, but the food is top notch! Easily my favorite cafe in the downtown/seaport area.Definitely a good spot to read or work on a laptop or something. Very cozy, slightly rustic atmosphere. Lots of outside sitting space. Definitely check it out!
I stayed at the Embassy Suites around the corner for a week and was happy to find such a great local coffee shop nearby. Was only able to visit twice during my stay, but was very happy with the service, smiles and delicious lattes! Great decor and location. I hope to come back again someday! Thanks from Detroit, MI!
Cozy and warm with friendly staff and great coffee and food. Great place for breakfast.
Nice little coffee shop. Serving all kinds of coffee drinks and breakfast items. Excellent Americano. Plenty of outdoor seating on their patio.
Found this little gem while walking around downtown San Diego following my Google Maps. Glad I did. I was looking for a unique SD experience and found it. Loved the drink selections (Mexican Mocha was fantastic).I had a great day on the patio in the sun and exactly what I needed. Only drawback is its located right by the train tracks so was a little noisy. Great place none-the-less.
This is by far my favorite cafe in San Diego. Not only is their coffee delicious but their food is good too. Its a cute space and everyone is friendly. Now too be fair, they always mess up one of my orders (bagel and lox with no tomatoes) but they are just so nice about it and remake it quickly enough for it not to bother me.
Stopped by after a run and had the lox and bagel. Sooooo good! Very fresh, loads of salmon, delicious. Great find!!
I am local and had a friend recommended this place for the oatmeal. We went on the morning of 7/12. It was okay. However, the customer service isnt good enough for me to come back. I was not greeted by a young, disrespectful kid made. He just looked at me blankly until I initiated. Then, he was too distracted to remember everything I said. In addition, I asked for my receipt and he disappeared. So I took a picture of the one I signed (store copy) and in a sarcastic voice asked said, Oh, so you wanted receipt? Not a great experience and wont be back. There are plenty of breakfast places in this area with genuine great customer service. I highly dont recommend.
Cute cafe! Good food, friendly staff, big outdoor seating area. A nice place to come in the mornings to drink hot tea and catch up on some reading or work. I love their acai bowls!
A trip to Brickyard Coffee and Tea is a lovely way to start the morning! The staff was very genuine and friendly, easily putting a smile on my face. The drinks were reasonably priced and delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for a smile and some good coffee! I will for sure be coming back.
After a long walk around downtown, this is a great stop in the morning for a recharge. You can sit outside relaxing in the shade while enjoying a coffee and some breakfast. I tried the oatmeal with fruit, which was absolutely great, though a very large portion size for one person. Wish they had options for a smaller size, but a great choice off their menu.
Yummy food, huge portions and wonderful drinks. The cashier had a fantastic personality
Food is bomb & fresh.. Great customer service😁😁 highly recommended💯
I really enjoy the Spanish latte. Neat place with some history begins it.
Really good coffee. The out door seating along the trolley line is really nice, quiet and a great place to have a business meeting. For whatever reason theres no wifi. Or at least I cant get it to work if there is. As a result posting up all day can be an issue, but the outside ambiance is worth it.
Delicious coffee, really good prices for downtown San Diego. Right in the trolly stop at Kettner and G
Down to earth run of the mill. Not bad but not great.
First day in SD from Philly, stopped in for some breakfast, the Spanish Latte was spectacular. Bacon breakfast burrito.....oh man....perfect. Excellent establishment, friendly service, great location. 10/10
Not recommended if youre in a hurry, but they have good coffee and pastries.
Food is good, and service seems a little slow. I personally found the outside seating a little unkept for my liking. The inside seems much better, but there arent as many seats.
Friendly baristas. Much cleaner than before, the outside lights are on now which makes it better in the evening. So happy they have nitro, and a good selections of tea. I have the double smoked bacon, ask them to toast it open face. Makes a world of difference.
They dont have outlets for laptops. 😬 But they do have wi-fi. And the coffee is good. 👍
Service was top notch. Food was delicious and huge value. Deffently worth every penny. Best of all is seeing the staffs pride owner choose them well.
Small cafe/coffee shop with a large outside patio. Stopped in and had their chilli today for lunch. The best chilli I have had in a long time, the the portion was huge! Price was very affordable too. Their menu is awesome. I highly recommend it. This is right next to the Seaport Village trolley stop.
Very cool place, small eclectic coffee shop with interesting choices for breakfast but all of them were good. I went here almost everyday when I was staying at the Hyatt. Try the bagel pesto, very good and unique.
Stumbled upon this while trying to get to the waterside from the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. The walk is 10-15 minutes but the coffee is worth an hour walk. Love this little place in a seemingly historic building. Take the trolley to Seaport Village stop if you are able too. Worth the cost of a trip. Try the Spanish Latte!
Favorite place for a lox bagel. Lots of capers and tomato on em. Also great spot for espresso either straight or in drinks. Beats the piss out of Starbucks anyday
Entered near nine, it wasnt busy. I will be bringing friends next time. Ambience is similar to Fresnos scene.
The French toast served in this place is TOP NOTCH. So good. Although the portions were disappointingly small.
Great hospitality. The service was very welcoming and sociable.
After waiting 20 minutes for a jalapeño bagel, I went up to counter to inquire and was told the cook couldnt find the order number it belonged to. I was handed a bag (though ordered for here) and when I reached inside to pull out the bagel, it was ice cold. I told the gentleman, and he proceeded to argue with me about saying he made it 5 minutes ago so it couldnt be cold. I told him to see for himself, so he grabbed it out of my hands and tossed it in the trash. At this point another employee stepped in and said she would remake it, which she did, but was wrong flavor. When I pointed this out, she said they were out of the jalapeño bagels, so I could take it or leave it.As you can see from the other reviews, this is not a 5 star establishment.
I was so full. i look forward to a return trip. this place has many good reviews for a reason.
I found this place while out for a walk one morning before a conference. The food was good and the coffee was spot on. Id come again if I found myself in the area.
A different kind of coffee house, excellent menu
I really enjoy this spot. They have a smaller menu, use cafe moto coffee and on ocassion in the afternoons have a performer. The staff are amazing and will always greet you with a smile and a conversation. I love relaxing here!
I spent a week in San Diego and this is the only good coffee I found.
I wanted to post a food pic but it looked so good I couldnt stop. Had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again.
Excellent chicken salad and lobster soup. Thanks.
Solid neighborhood place with a wonderful ambiance. Menu is limited. Acai bowls are good. Coffee is strong.
A wonderful refuse from a long walk. Great coffee too!
Next time Ill be back with my coworkers. I can see why they have a lot of great reviews.
This local coffee shop has delicious food and coffee, great service, relaxed atmosphere inside and out, and was the perfect place to start the day. I recommend the breakfast bake!
Fresh coffee and bagels. Great place for breakfast before you grab the train.
Cute cafe in the heart of San Diego, just North of the Grand Hyatt and Seaport Village. The menu are a little overpriced for its quality, but that gap helps to keep the seating fairly open, even on weekends.
I love the food, drinks and the staff! Although Im quite confused when I walk by during open and want to go in...they dont look open till about after 6:30 instead of 6 :(
Best breakfast Ive had in San Diego. Café latte was great. Come here for a relaxing breakfast.
Get the egg fratata thing they got. Its outstanding. Otherwise, its just a great coffee shop.
Sweet little coffee shop with good value sandwiches
Great breakfast spot. Owner is super friendly.
Great coffee place
Decent food and coffee for the price. Nice outdoor seating area.
While visiting San Diego, we thought we would give this place a try. Terrible decision! Ordered lattes, breakfast burrito, and breakfast bake (no crust quiche). Lattes were more steamed milk than coffee...worst Ive had. Breakfast burrito was warmed up so hot that the tortilla had become brittle. Couldnt touch it for at least 10 minutes! Breakfast bake was just disgusting...runny, coagulated cheese, weird tomato slices on top...not a pleasant dish to start the day. Service was ok...not friendly but not unfriendly...just there.Go to Copa Vida!!! Should have walked the extra blocks instead of the Brickyard.
Espresso is on point. Friendly service. Great part of the city to hang out and drink coffee.
Great service and great cappuccinos! Service was fast i had my order in less than five minutes
Great coffee wonderful service and tasty breakfast bake. Plus the service is so nice.
Good coffee, slow pace. Enough seating, one bathroom. Good food, dont bring a large group.
Good coffee and oatmeal, far cheaper and better than the hotel fare, friendly staff, nice outdoor seating area. Went 3 mornings in a row during my visit to San Diego and would definitely go back.
Good soup and sandwiches. Real iced tea. Not a lot of pasteries.
Nice patio, great croissants, crispy bacon, and oh yeah good coffee too.
Workers are very nice. Not a great selection. The condiment cart often dirty.
I had a cafe au lait and a bagel and both were delicious. Its pretty expensive but a nice little place to stop for breakfast.
Whenever I am down by the marina I make sure I stop by Brickyard and get one of their iced lattes. It is 10 times better than Starbucks, and less expensive. The baristas are always friendly and it usually isnt too busy unless it is early in the morning.
Very nice and great treats the staff is awesome
The granola with yogurt is delicious and the breakfast bagel was very enjoyable.
So hot inside for a mild 70 degree day.
