I think new owners took over but they kept the same exact menu and it’s absolutely great. Just ordered the sweet and sour chicken and pasta and it tasted better than before. I recommend ordering the rice with it but was craving pasta today. I highly recommend this place. The new people are nice and extremely friendly.

Avoid this place if you can. The guy that runs this place is disrespectful and dishonest and the food is nothing to write home about. We waited for one hour for an order of 2 burgers. The man lied to us and told us that hed prepare them and it would be ready in 15 minutes (which turned out to be more than an hour because he actually didnt have any of the items needed to make the order). They didnt have burger buns or fries-- but he didnt tell us this when we ordered and when we asked where our side orders were after 45 minutes, he lied and said he told us he didnt have any of those items when we ordered-- absolutely ridiculous. Then the guy left the store and went to deliver orders while we sat there waiting. Their customer service is a disaster. Once this guy finally returned to the store he was extremely disrespectful when we confronted him about how terrible the service was he told us to check the video recordings in the store. Honestly surprised this place is still in business-- terrible experience.

Having had good Somali food in SLC, I was excited to discover Somali cuisine in San Diego. Upon a Google/Yelp search, a couple of Somali restaurants came up in the area. We were looking for a place that was open for dine in, and not all the restaurants updated their information online. I called a couple of them and was surprised to find out that some of them weren’t open for months, while they claimed to be open online. This was one of the few that were opened and had dine in with good reviews.The restaurant is located in a strip plaza amongst many other restaurants and shops. It can be considered a “hole in the wall”, with a couple of diner style tables and benches. As the interior felt cramped, we decided to sit outside as there were a couple of tables and chairs for outside dining.As per their recommendations, we ordered the combination plate of tandoori chicken and goat meat with half rice and half spaghetti. The other plate was the chicken soukar with rice. Both plates came with salad. They were out of the mango house drink, so we tried the watermelon and berry house drink.The food was delicious as expected. I really liked how tender and juicy the goat meat was, and the flavorful tandoori chicken; better than some Indian places, and that’s their specialty. The pasta and rice paired well with the meat, and the green (hot) sauce was absolutely amazing. Somali green sauce is the bomb! I have to make it one day, it’s so good! The chicken soukar was like grilled chicken; it wasn’t bad, but I had better. The watermelon house drink was way too sweet, and the berry tasted too diluted.Although the place needs some cosmetic touches to it, it shouldn’t deter you away from trying the food. My experiences with hole in the wall places were rather well, as they usually compensate with amazing food. I haven’t tried the other meats, but I recommend the goat meat. We’ll stop by to try their other menu items if we’re ever in the area.

Hands down the best Somalian food in San Diego! The Lamb Shanks Royale and Goat Royale are two of my familys favorites here. Tender meat, great value for money, and good customer service.The food was so good, we did not get the chance to take photos of our plates.

My husband and I got a chicken salad and everything had flavor, the chicken was seasoned and not dry like it usually is at other places. This is my new favorite salad place. Would recommend! Also great customer service.

The host/cashier/waiter was very kind to my family on our first visit to his restaurant. The lamb, chicken and goat were succulent and the rice flavorful. Finishing our meal with Somali tea was sublime. We will be back!

I just paid $15 for the fries with beef and its HORRIBLE!! IT LITERALLY HAS LIKE 5 LITTLE PIECES OF BEEF!! And no flavor! Super disappointed.

This place serves some really gooood lamb dishes. It will get you full although a bit pricey. The ambience is not so great but hey their food tastes good.

Authentic Somalian food, absolutely loved their sambosa and huge meat platter, lamb was perfectly cooked, so was fish and chicken served with rice and spaghetti. Must go for all halal food lovers and meat lovers if you are in san Diego. highly recommended and ambience is very rustic. :)

I had the worst experience from eating this place. Forget about the food and i would not drink their water. You go restaurant to enjoy food but in this restaurant food is a death sentence because when i eat their food next i knew was i couldnt stop throwing up. The went to the emergency room and the doctor told it was a food illness or poison so the $10 food cost me $3000. The Place is filthy and the food taste like a leftover. I will never eat from this place even if they pay me.

A group of friends and I went to this place and it was the worst experience ever. After 45 minutes of waiting one of us goes up and asked the cashier why the food was taking a while and they said just a few more minutes. Then 10-15 minutes later he comes out and says oh sorry we ran out of rice and we are closed now. Oh and he shushed my friends kids too. Complete disrespect on so many levels.

The restaurant is nasty it has roaches all over and I remember when I first went there the waiter gave my order and never came back after and hour. He said he was praying but he was lying I seen him talking with another waiter the whole time and I had to walk over there and tell him to get my food or else im not paying.

Sweet and Sour Chicken was delicious so that we got two plates. Drove 45 minutes just for dinner.

Horrible customer service. Ordered food here via phone... got to the restaurant, they changed my order and didnt tell me.... lied multiple times (first they ran out of meat and didnt know, then they knew and didnt call me back, then he lied and said he wasnt there when the order was made, then he was there when it was made)... watched me bite into my food and knew it was wrong; brushed it off as if it was ok to change my order and not notify me or offer my money back...Had a dispute to get my money back, and he never apologized.Not the first time this place has struck out in business ethics and honesty.Business 101, you run a business with the intent to provide an honest service to the people that come to your business to spend their hard earned money, period!Instead, your employees are selective in who they greet and who gets timely service.

I just ordered from here and my experience was horrible so unpleased with not only the food but service my order took an hour and 30mins to arrive and once it did I was so unhappy I Ordered a Philly cheese steak with fries and a and a chicken sandwich the Philly cheese steak was soggy the meat was very hard and Burnt my fries were soggy and cold and both sandwiches were drenched in thousand Island which made the bread very soggy and unappetizing I called to speak to a manager and they were very rude and pretty much saying that there was nothing they could do about it, this will be the first and last time I ever order from them dont even waste your money the food is horrible
