I love Cafe Virtuoso. I started coming here because it is conveniently close to my job and it has become my favorite coffee shop. Not only got their amazing coffee but the staff is so friendly. They always take time to make me feel welcomed and remember my order. They even have a rewards program too, which I love! In addition, they sell Split House baked goods so I always have a vegan option to chose from. If you haven’t I really recommend checking them out.

First time here and the customer service is 5/5 easy! The employees are very knowledgeable, provided me great service and walked me around the site to show me what they offered.Im not one for fruity coffees but I gave it a shot and it was good. Better than others ones Ive tried.The rating will change on my next visit when I try their house virtuoso double espresso.Ill be back!

Always a great selection of beans (for home brewing)... Definitely, my go to for home beans. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with selections of new roasts or specialty drinks as they are available.

Came here because of the great reviews it had over a couple of blogs. This place totally met my expectations. I had an espresso made of the Virtuoso blend, which was incredible. The staff member that helped me was super knowledgable and made a pretty accurate recommendation according to what I mentioned I was looking for. He also shared they have several courses and trainings! I totally recommend visiting the spot and indulging into some quality beans 👌🏼

TOP SERVICE ! My wife and I were downtown on Saturday specifically to check out a bakery nearby. Of course when it comes to coffee when we are near this area this is our first and only choice. My wife and I arrived around 11am and got lucky parking in a green 30 min zone right out front. A cashier named James welcomed us when we entered and we said hi to Mary & Christian ( both baristas ) who we know. I ordered 2 x Cortados with 2% milk and hazelnut syrup. We actually had a very fresh Chocolate Almond Croissant from the bakery to enjoy with our Cortados. Barista Mary made our Cortados in slightly larger than normal size shot glasses which had a pink hue. We sat at a bar height table and totally enjoyed our well made rich tasting Cortados...and the sensational Chocolate Almond Croissant. A PERFECT COFFEE BREAK !

I found this great coffee shop last month during a visit to San Diego. I love finding roasters new to me and this spot is a gem for coffee beans. I bought 3 very unique African roasts and just finished the bag of RWANDA. Wow, I rarely pick a light roast but this is scrumptious. Full bodied with a complex flavor profile. I would definitely buy this again. French press for this beautiful roast. Now, on to the next two selections!

A really great coffee shop to get work done if you need very little to no music. I went on a Thursday and it was very quiet and laid back. Very friendly staff, one of the baristas brought me my drink which I thought was really nice of her. I purchased the Iced Mocha which had a rich mouthfeel. I loved that it came in a mason jar & a metal straw! Trendy yet environmentally friendly. Definitely plan on going back.

Tried the chemex Ethiopia amaro gayo bean, its the best coffee I have ever had, an amazing friendly staff, I drove from the other side of San Diego to get there and it was well worth it. I hope to see them one day in Dubai.

Wow! This place has some incredible espresso. I’ve never had such smooth shots, and the milk chocolate notes were incredibly pronounced.Clean space, beautiful machines, bright and inviting. It’s great to see the roaster front and center, and their training room is a coffee geek’s wet dream.If you’re considering going, GO! You won’t be disappointed.

I Love drinking coffee here, the ambiance is great and the coffee is delicious. I recommend the Mexican Mocha and the Single Origin Cortado. The Oaxaca Coffee Beans are also outstanding for taking home to brew.

Specialty coffee is delicious. Cafe Virtuoso does not disappoint. This is very much a working coffee shop with an industrial feel and equipment in use while grabbing an espresso or coffee. Small area dedicated to seating both indoor and out. Will be back!

I was literally lost trying to find a Starbucks. Along the way I saw Cafe Virtuoso. so I was like why not try it out? I ordered the blended mocha. First sip and I was tasting heaven, I fell in love. The barista made my drink with extra care. It’s amazing... I can’t wait to go back to San Diego because this is the first place I will hit up once I’m back.

I usually order a cappuccino with steamed almond milk and honey. The beautiful latte art brings a smile to my face. The pastries here are delicious. The donuts, croissants, and cheese Danishes are my favorites. The relaxed atmosphere is great for enjoying my morning coffee and reading my novel. All the baristas are nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. I always get amazing customer service. Best coffee in town!

I ordered a large latte with organic caramel syrup! It was delicious, and really made me wonder why all caramel lattes dont taste like this! I want one every day please! My sweetie had a turmeric latte with hemp milk and one shot espresso

This place is consistent. The lattes are reminiscent of a European coffee house. Such great care and pride in each cup. I always find myself sipping very slowly to savor ever second of it. I don’t enjoy overly sweet coffee and I’m generally hesitant to order a flavored coffee but here it’s always done just right.

By far best coffee roaster in sd. Super fresh roast for like $4 more than in a grocery store. I always get excited when Im brewing a batch of their stuff and its still fresh enough to get a good degassing while cooked perfectly for an even non- bitter taste.

This is a modern coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Its not a traditional space, theres tables, merchandise and storage all in one area. The staff is pretty friendly. The menu is simple, with coffee drinks and some pastries. I got an Americano and one of the berry pop tarts. The pop tart is hard to bite and chew, but that was semi-explained to me. The coffee is pretty standard, its nothing too special. This place is okay for a meeting or get-together.

The Camelot of San Diego coffee roasters ! We have been here twice recently and bought 2 different varieties of Cafe Virtuoso roasted coffee beans to use at home. Whether its the lattes we enjoy here or the ones we make at home the flavor is outstanding. Yesterday we said hi to top barista Mary who made our delicious lattes again and Christian who works the front counter. We also got to meet Savannah Phillips who is the founders daughter. And of course we bought a bag of whole roasted coffee beans before we left...this time the one they use in house which is Virtuoso Espresso ...a medium roast. Really good decaf iced mocha. Great, bold coffee, good quality chocolate and great staff made for a wonderful visit. Cafe Virtuoso is a bit out of the way but not highly recommend it.

Cafe Virtuoso is great! The staff members are cool and they have a wide variety of beans to choose from. They also have their roasting area right there in the shop so its pretty interesting to see that. AND if you buy a bag of beans they give you a cup of coffee if youd like one! Theyre definitely one of the best cafes in San Diego.

This place is absolutely outstanding. It has a good interior. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

I only go because its near work, the house coffee kind of tastes like urine to me so I opt for an Americano. Mary is an excellent person/ Barista and I havent seen her there for a while. If you happen to run into her ask her about her art work she is extremely talented.

By far best coffee/tea in San Diego. I’ve been coming here a few times a month for years now and they’ve never let me down. Virtuoso chai latte, mocha and white mocha are my favorite. Staff is always friendly, location is always clean.

Wow! Im not a super coffee snob, but I like a strong brew and I use my own French press. Ive always found premium coffee of all kinds to hover around the same Yeah, this is better than Foldgers space. Virtuoso absolutely destroys my preconception of what good coffee is supposed to taste like. I got the mocha. It was served at a perfectly drinkable temperature (Big plus for me since my mouth is pretty temperature-sensitive). It was so creamy and smooth. It didnt need whipped cream and an ounce of sugar to hide any bitterness or roughness. It was literally perfect!

I absolutely love this place when it comes to beans and treats. Theyve got some of the best organic beans in San Diego. Not to mention they roast right in the shop so you can actually see the process happening.5 Stars to you Cafe Virtuoso!

I am really picky. They definitely have the best coffee in town. I would like mine a little sweeter though. Yeah I could sweeten it myself but I like when things are served exactly the way I like them. I still doubt I would give a five star rating. The next time that I am there I will ask if they will add a little sugar as they are making my cup. I would say that I just dont give five-star ratings. There is always room for improvement no matter how good something is.

This place is cool and has really good tea, Im not a coffee drinker. How ever, I grew up in this neighboorbod and quite honestly it takes away from our culture. The one and only time I was there, it didnt feel too welcoming and I saw a young man get charged a $1 for a small 8oz cup of water....really? The young lady behind the counter didnt seem too happy that he walked in and simply asked for water. Her facial expression simply displayed an unwelcoming and annoyed state. Its sad to see my neighborhood change with these types of business especially when they are not too inclusive.
