Would recommend as a place to sit down and relax and do some work in, however, I would NOT recommend if you are looking for some top quality coffee. Its has a relaxed ambiance and has a few board games and a couch if you want to chill, but once again, not for Instagram shots, great latte art, or 3rd wave coffee.

Im falling in love with this coffee shop, but please remove the bathroom key system. Its disgusting. Also, please open the bathroom window. It smells like dead people. An actual quote from my friend.5 stars for the great service and comfortable low-key space.

First time here! Girls were nice! Environment is chill. Coffee is delicious and so are the lox bagels. Lox was not skimped and I really appreciate that.

I dont think there was any espresso in my coffee drink at all. My partner had a flavored latte that tasted like hot coffee flavored water. They put the cream in my Friends coffee without letting her do it herself we had already driven off when she found out there was way too much cream in it.

I love this spot. Been coming here for years and its always a great experience. They have a great selection of coffee and teas. I also enjoy their food menu but can never say no to their cookies and pastries. The place itself is comfortable and inviting. Its a great neighborhood spot.

Went this morning and was given a luke warm Americano. When we said something about it, the guy said he was still learning, but he was the only person preparing. Order two sandwiches and they were brought out on stale bagels. He said hed make another Americano, but worked on others orders instead. Never coming back.

My cousin and I had been to a bookshop and decided to stop for some coffee. The service was good, the coffee excellent and the muffin was delicious. The next time Im in North Park, Im going to stop in for coffee and a muffin. Our servers name was Isis. She was a doll.

I used to love this place because they had friendly, attentive staff, the best sandwiches and lattes with velvety smooth froth. Im guessing due to the pandemic, clearly new, young and easily distracted staff, quality has taken a hit. Today the latte was overly sweetened, had foamy/fluffy froth and a bagel sandwich with an exuberant amount of cream cheese. On a positive note, you cannot go wrong with baked goods or a plain coffee drink here. Unfortunately I will be taking a break from here and hopeful that in time, things will get better.

Tip more than $1 and maybe Instacart will deliver your order from Restaurant Depot. We should ask your staff if they would like $1 tips for helping one customer for an hour... Just go to Dark Horse instead, its so much better than this shabby place.

My friend & I met for breakfast and were excited to see their expansion. We shared a lox bagel & pesto bagel with regular coffees. Refills were only $.60/ea. The decor is fun & inviting and the staff are friendly. Perfect experience 😍

I got an English Latte and a breakfast taco. The latte was great! The taco not so much. 5 stars b/c its very good coffee. If it were just the breakfast taco itd probably only be 3 stars.

I went there for coffee but discovered it’s a great place for warm, sugary milk. I’m sure they would have remade my drink if I asked, but who has time for second attempts these days. I ordered a cinnamon bun coffee. I think they forgot the coffee and the cinnamon. It tastes like warm, sugar milk.

Cant wait until we can dine in here! Outdoor seating is nice but took our order to go. Seems minor but I love that their take out containers are earth friendly.

This is a nice cafe located in central North Park. They have a wide variety of speciality coffee drinks and a large amount of really nice teas. I really enjoy their coconut tea in particular. They also serve food, which I havent tried but from peeping others orders I can tell that it is fresh and pleasantly aromatic. The interior has an assembly of non-uniform chairs and tables that are cozy and homely. They also have free wi-fi and very friendly baristas! I recommend trying out a drink here while perusing North Park!

Friendly staff, yummy cinnamon rolls, and 5 or 6 tables on the sidewalk. Terrific spot to meet up with a friend. Some tables have umbrellas, I take a hat just in case because its got direct sun all morning.

Amazingly delicious food. 4 stars because coffee could be better. If you drink your coffee black, youll find that their drinks are just ok. But if you like the mixed drinks (lattes, etc.), youll probably love it.

I came in March 1st at 7:30 a.m. theres two girls behind the register who were great Im very nice and friendly.I ordered a very simple London fog When I got it it wa lI ordered a london fog that was 5$ and some change. I thought to myself she must make a good one because she didnt ask if I wanted honey or vanilla flavoring. When I got it, it was lukewarm and the soy milk that I didnt really want wasnt filmed correctly and there was no honey no syrup. I love subterranean but was really disappointed with this warm watered down tea. I would greatly like a phone call, refund, email or something for this. Tha k you so much

The food here is pretty good if youre not very hungry. The light inside is very harsh and not good for work. They used to sell nicer coffee beans, maybe Bird Rock, and I commonly bought them in generic brown bags, but they must have switched to cheap beans at some point in the pandemic without reducing the price or changing the packaging label or making any notification. I stopped going for that reason and, frankly, forgot about it. Recently, I went back and noticed only a few people wearing masks inside.

Normally pretty decent and an excellent place to study. Although consistently the acai bowl I usually order is 2/3 melted. Im currently looking at the one I ordered 5 minutes ago and trying to figure how to drink (yes, drink) it without looking like a caveman.

Flavored lattes dont taste like anything. Ordered 4 shots and doesnt even taste like coffee, just milk. Disappointed

Theres a small parking lot behind the cafe. It says says private parking but its for customers. The menu is extensive and the variety is fantastic. Cozy vibes inside, environment is more on the quiet side. Friendly and authentic staff. Loved my white lavendar - sweet without being overpowering. Would recommend for both working and catching up with friends.

Old school coffee shop thats low on frills but great coffee. They dont aim to get out the door as fast as possible, hang out with a book or write that manifesto. They also host regular art shows by After Dark Creations and other special events.

Most coffee shops I’ve been to in are usually too hipsterish with that generic gentrified aesthetic, or just don’t have good coffee or anywhere to sit. Luckily, Subterranean Coffee doesn’t fit that description. Their regular brewed coffee is perfect for me, their sandwiches were amazing, they’re spacious, they serve beer, AND as an added bonus they’re right across from Verbatim Books!

What makes this place so special is the calm atmosphere where book lovers can read, work a little on grad school and indulge in a wonderful array of coffees that never break the bank. They even serve the coffee in pint glasses with foam and will decorate it so it looks as good as it tastes. Ive always had exceptionally friendly service, and the food is also delicious. My favorite thing to do here is sit outside, people watch, read, and eventually head over to Verbatim Books to peruse. Last time I went to Subterranean I saw someone reading the same book I was. Seems to be the right kind of culture for those who like quiet time with a philosophical book.

I go to Subterranean several days a week to work and I cannot say enough good things about it. The staff are wonderful and the food and drinks are AMAZING!! This is a true local business owned and run by a great family who are hard workers. They have created such a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy and I also love the new renovations!

We like the coffees, and love the cookies, but this trip is seem to take absolutely forever to get us our drinks. They were a little bit busier than normal what with hipsters and middle-aged people who havent grown up and found an office trying to work from a coffee shop. I ordered the Keith Richards which is basically a Mexican hot chocolate with four shots... I think maybe thats why it took so long but honestly 20 minutes to pull four shots?

The location of the place is great and the people are extremely nice to the customers. Also, the food is delicious and high quality. A stupendous place to go work on homework or just go and read a book.

Like the new remodeling. Much more space but service incredibly slow and they kept telling me after I ordered that they were missing i ingredients. They came up to tell me twice and then ask me preferences. This was after Id paid and was waiting for close to ten minutes. And it wasnt that busy at the time either so Im not sure what was going on

This is a popular coffee shop, when I went there was a line but it wasnt too slow. I got a pour over iced coffee (never had a pour over coffee before) and it was great, really easy drinking and refreshing.The cafe itself is very nice, it was busy but didnt feel crowded. The service was friendly and fairly efficient. There was only one pour over guy so a backlog could occur but on my visit I only had to wait for him to serve another couple. The decoration is white, bright and minimal.

Great little spot, with a surprisingly large selection of really good food, and huge portions to boot. And vegetarian/vegan/gluten free on request. Good seating inside and out, plugs along the wall. They have a pretty solid pastry selection too.

Delicious coffee, it helps they use bird rock beans, but they take them and make great drinks. I had an iced horchatta and my partner had an ice Mexican mocha. Both were perfect. They handled adjustments, both less sweet and mixing non fat and whole milk for 2%. They have vegan and veggie food but havent tried. Their vegan cookies are good though, cant tell theyre vegan.

Love it here!! They recently expanded making it a very comfortable place to work, just like Claire de lune in North Park used to be. Before it was a little cramped but now it is perfect. And the food and drinks of course are great!

This is a cozy coffee shop with great food. But. Make sure you have a lot of time to wait before you go in there .. they are very slow. Partly because there is a general lack of organization in their kitchen area, a lack of structure in how they take and record orders and a shortage of staff, it appears as if they were once a quiet cafe who could manage business with one staff member per shift but no longer. Fix those three things and they will find they are able to service far more people far more efficiently.

Okay, so this place is pretty neat to look around and especially the art. The only thing that hella fell short was my drink womp womp womp. I ordered a Dirty Chai and presentation was great, came in a nice ceramic cup and saucer but the drink not so great. I tasted more milk or creamer than chai or coffee, I also ordered a cookie that was on the counter, which the barista said was one of her favourites and also mentioned it was vegan. Cookie was kinda hard, like it had been out for a while. Not saying it was not fresh, just was not easy to eat since it seemed like it was stale. it was covered in a glass cake stand, also not sure if all vegan cookies are like that. The ones i have tried are almost identical to regular milk and egg cookies. Service was great though, and the baristas were really nice. I would have to try another item on the menu or maybe their signature drink to love this place.

This place is awesome! Theres a little bit of a hipster type vibe. Consider yourself warned if thats not your scene. Environment wise its a great place to study or meet for a chat and a bite of food. Menu wise theres really no way to order something that isnt good. Im super impressed by their salads. Ive had every one they serve and none of them needed the dressing. Im not a salad person at all, so Im extra delighted. My favorite is the strawberry almond brie salad. They also have really good brewed coffee. If youre looking for something sweeter the recees mocha and horchatte are so good. So good!

Was there in September visiting for 4 days. Excellent place, more than a coffee shop as the food is much better than the usual coffee shop fare. I like that they have soda with sugar instead of high fructose and the pastry is also a cut above. Nice layout, internet has plenty of juice. Highly recommended.

Decent coffee. Not dog friendly. Person claiming to be owner hassled me about my on duty service dog. When I pointed out her badges he (smiling) pleasantly told me they could easily be fake. Cmon man if you see a well behaved dog with a vest that has service dog badges on it it’s probably better not to accuse your paying customer of faking lol
