Wonderful iteration of this space. Probably the best iteration yet as the legacy of businesses that have lived here were nice but not as inviting as this. I remember looking at this space a number of years ago when it was available once for a plant based food and wellness collective. The location is clutch and theres so much character to the uniquely divided space.Today I ordered a tropical smoothie, a cold brewed ice coffee and a chicken kale Caesar salad. Loved everything. The smoothie was perfect and just barely sweet! 5 star rating

Great location, service is awesome. I had the classic açaí bowl and the half and half coffee, both were delicious. Prices arent bad either. I recommend this café.

Very pleasant atmosphere, maybe a bit too quiet to the point that makes you feel youre in a library. Eventually the fitting style of the music gets you settled in and you can almost enjoy the coffee. The coffee (or at least the one we tried) is about average. The polite and super helpful barista told us that they use one type of coffee (nothing wrong with that) and made us our drinks with extra care, which is more than one can ask for.Meraki as far as I understand implies that something is made with extra care and passion, which seems to be the case here.Cool place, would come here to read a book or work on a laptop; also adds coolness to the area.

Great little neighborhood cafe. I had a wonderful sandwich that they made gluten free with very good bread and a delicious vanilla flavored ice tea. We ate on their patio which had nice tables, chairs and shade. I will definately be back.

My brother and I visited this cafe on a Saturday. We had the acai bowl. I had the nut flavored bowl which was actually very rich. It had peanut butter, granola, and honey. I couldnt finish it all, it was too rich. My brother had one with banana and berries, granola. It was very good as well.

What a gem! Great place to chill, study, work or take a date. The back yard patio seating is our favorite. As self-proclaimed “connoisseurs” of açaí bowls and cafe food, Meraki has some of our favorites! Definitely a great spot!!!

Excellent service by the staff and especially super friendly barista, Sean. Our lattes are smooth and delicious. Cozy outdoor patio is always nice to sit in and relax.

Atmosphere and food were top notch

Delicious cafe style food and teas. My toddler loves the garden smoothie. We love the breakfast and lunch sandwiches, empanadas, and oatmeal. We usually get a side of egg and avocado for my young toddler’s breakfast.Note: Their fancy coffee drinks often taste watery, but the regular coffee is fine.

This place is great! The customer service at check out was amazing. She was knowledgeable and friendly. Oh man their açaí bowls the best in the area for sure. I got the nutty. Definitely recommend this place weather you live in the area or just visiting.

Before i was an employee at this wonderful University Heights cafe, i was a regular getting acai bowls (yes, with gluten free granola)and a coconut milk lavender latte daily! Im not sure if its the zen atmosphere of the back patio, the customer base, the availability of delicious creative options for all types of eaters and caffeine drinkers- vegan, vegetarian, nut free, gluten free dairy free etc but it seems to me this place nailed all the qualities hard to find if you eat/drink with restrictions; overall Im just extremely happy this cafe came to such a cute neighborhood that fits right in with the uniqueness and friendliness of San Diego. also highly recommend the homemade Chai with Vanilla Bean syrup or Cardamon (cant go wrong)

I stopped in for an Acai Bowl and it was perfect! A little less expensive than some other places at $7.25 and it was delicious! I got the tropical acai and it was packed with acai and granola and blueberries and pineapple and coconut. It was ready super fast, and I got a parking spot right out front! I would definitely return.

I love this place. Everything Ive ordered from here has been excellent, including their avocado toast, a smoothie, two types of acai bowls, and several different lattes. The staff is always willing to answer questions and super friendly. The inside is simple but welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating aplenty. Although I live technically in walking distance, it is also nice that there is usually ample street parking nearby.

I absolutely love Meraki! It is a really cute coffee shop with excellent coffee. The food is also tasty. The vibe of the place is very relaxing, and it always makes my day to visit here. Highly recommend!

Was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. Ordered the banana nut bread, a croissant, cappuccino, and my favorite...a bagel egg sandwich with avocado and bacon, on a jalapeño bagel. It was BOMB. Loved the backyard patio, especially in Covid times. Will definitely return.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and this has become my go-to local coffee shop! Always a great selection of drink and food options and a really sweet staff. Reasonable prices.

Drinks? Theyre probably fine.Food? Ask how long food orders will take before ordering. They told a guy on the phone 20 minutes. He came in 15. They said, another 25 minutes. He cancelled the order. I started my order, in person, before that phone order. Im still sitting here 20 minutes after my to-go order and Ive got nothing.Friendly staff, but if theyre only going to have one person making food, they should give people semi-accurate wait times. If theyd told me Id be waiting half an hour for my sandwiches, Id not have ordered them.This review has nothing to do with the quality of food or drinks.Its a five stars for friendliness, one star for shaping expectations review.

Went here for the 1st time today. Not only did I get an amazing Ginger iced tea but the customer service was over the top. I met Alexis at the counter....she was beyond FANTASTIC. I looked over their menu and I must say you get what you pay for and more. I most definitely will be back. Thank you so much Alexis.

One of my favorite coffee shops! Most of their coffee options are great and they have one of the best croissants. Do yourself a favor and spend some time on their patio, its so nice out there.

Wow! Love, Love this place! The back patio is super cool for just hanging with friends. I think they should add a few more tables and chairs back there.The interior is awesome too! Lots of people hanging out and on their laptops. I ordered the most amazing pistachio gluten-free baked good, it was sooo yummy! Salad was great too. Lots of great non-dairy options too. I think they should name the salads so it would be easier to order next time. Parking could be a challenge since its close to a bunch of other restaurants, but its worth being there...I wish we still lived in the neighborhood so we could walk here.

This is my go-to everyday neighborhood cafe. It never gets old. Excellent service, soulful staff, inspiring, clean atmosphere. The menu has a selection of artisan, heart crafted sandwiches and salads. My productivity and health flourish at Meraki.

This cafe has a calm atmosphere, with a spacious outdoor back patio. The service, food, and drinks are excellent. I love their house made flavored syrups. Cardamom syrup in iced chain is a great combination.

Staff was real nice. The coffee was delicious as always. They also have a back patio area that is real nice to study and enjoy your cup of coffee. I was also allowed to bring my dog on the patio.

I found this place by chance and keep coming back for their acai bowls! They are amazing! Since it gets busy sometimes in the mornings and especially on the weekends, I tend to buy everything online and then head over when it is ready. Definitely check it out

I love this place! Ive been here to meet with friends, enjoy their ice cream and their horchata latte! The owner is very personable and I love how they have yoga on certain days. This place screams (in a very non screaming manner) come and enjoy your day because you deserve it. Only good vibes here and I appreciate that. Also their product is worth the parking struggle.

So for the past 3 months this has been my go to spot for coffees and smoothies for my kids, freakin loved it. This afternoon I went in to have a to go coffee remade I got this morning because it was really watered down and tasted weak. For the second time the woman at the front was giving me a hard time about getting a new cup, seemed a bit strange since over the last few months of my girlfriend and I getting coffees EVERY morning we’ve spent over $850...I don’t know I think the cup pretty much paid for itself, plus who would want their remade coffee in the same cup as the original crappy cup of coffee? Was NOT big request...Anyways When I asked her why I needed to pay for a new cup the woman scoffed and said “because it costs money” oh well guess there’s always Dark Horse or home brew, guess they’ve lost my annual $2000.00+ profit. Happy customer = return business.

Great food, coffee, and a relaxed atmosphere. They have a pleasant patio area to enjoy the fresh air as you have breakfast, with the interior being a bright and welcoming alternative as well. The acai bowls are great, having a thicker consistency (almost like ice cream), and a variety of toppings that give each choice a unique accent of flavors.

Lovely cafe with plenty of nooks for reading or working on your own or with a small group. The owner makes her own flavored syrups (cardamom! ginger! lavender!) which are excellent with coffee. Also try the housemade chai, which is unique and delicious. I especially love the patio, though it only has one outlet outside (so charge up in advance if youre planning to use your computer out there). This place is a hidden gem in University Heights!

My first time here to this neighborhood cafe and it has been a great experience. The smoked salmon bagel was delicious with overflowing salmon. Matcha latte was about as good as i have had from anywhere. Perfect sweetness to not overpower the matcha flavor. Great service as well, a nice place that i will come back to when Im in the neighborhood.

Love it. Moved from little italy and got so tired of people in line as if it was the first time they walked to a coffee shop to re-read the very menu that IS coffee. Makes me feel as if Im in some cozy non-urban space. Goes best with coffee. Friendly staff and honestly the best acai bowls Ive had since Brazil. They use the real deal. No watered down Apple juice. Havent tried the coffee yet, but the food is always good. I recommend the Nutty Acai bowl. The staff is great and remembered me after two or 3 visits.

I dont have much experience with the cafe, I drop in for the iced lavender tea from time to time on the way to the trolley barn park, the ambience and outside are really cool, the staff seems nice but thats about all I know.

The food is pretty okay I guess, but your order is going to take about 45 minutes no matter what you really order..

Food is great. This is a head’s up - I was there with my kids and my mom this morning, and my young children were being fine, not screaming or fighting or being overly loud. We were just talking, eating, and having a good time. This white, middle-aged man came over a shushed us. I asked if he’s heard of a library. He got in my face, called me names and cursed at me, yelled in front of my kids that we were being rude, and threatened to call the police. He screamed that he’s there every day. So if you have kids, you may want to avoid this place! The person who worked there just said “I’ll tell the owner,” although businesses are entitled to tell people to leave if they’re being a problem.
