The coffee was okay. Had an americano. I felt it was overpriced. Even with a 20% coupon, their medium sized cup was over $5. Ouch!

I haven’t been able to find a place to get a good pour over in San Diego; the girl that made the pour over didn’t seem to know what she was doing, water too hot and didn’t use the proper filter; coffee tasted like burnt coffee.

Good espresso, dark roast blend. Cappuccino to go was good milk lost its sugars. Great aromas in the little space and organized well. Service was prompt and good. Not a huge fan of the blend notes, lacked complexity for a blend.

This was a great little artisnal coffee shop. The prices are resonable, and allow electronic tipping.Theyre selection is quite impressive going from drip and pour overs to espresso and cold/nitro brews and creations.Small snacks or health beverages are available, however, the selection is a little weak.My flat white was amazing and I am happy I found this cool cozy spot in downtown.

West Bean is definitely one of my favorite local coffee stops. Their Salted Carmel Latte is one of the best lattes in San Diego! Also their breakfast sandwich on brioche bun with lemon aioli spread is super tasty. Topping it all off are several pastries like an almond croissant, which are always fresh and yummy! West Bean is the best local place off Balboa Park! Check them out!

Found this place on my phone near my hotel (westin) and the valet said it was in walking distance along with Richard Walkers pancake house (line was 20+min, so next time lol) anyway we walked in and its smushed in between a few other shops and almost indistinguishable with trees and columns blocking its signage.. luckily my Google maps kept me on track.Anyway small menu but with all the good stuff. Two baristas and they chatted with us about the drinks and offered suggestions and tastings. Tried nitro for the first time..wooowheee.. strong.. and I tasted Ethiopian cold brew and that was just as strong. Coffee is present in the drink.. real deal and I dont think its more than sbux.. there are a lot of smaller drinks but you are getting GOOD coffee so the kick will be felt quickly.

Found this place after my workout next door :)Really good cappuccino and friendly service! Priced similar to Starbucks, but just as every good coffee shop should be: tastes way way better! They have oat, almond and soy milk in case you don’t use dairy. Maybe could add coconut? Also some tasty looking snacks, but no vegan options, yet (they are working on it).

Great little coffee shop with nice friendly service.Given the reviews from others, I had to try one of their lattes to see what am the fuss is about. Its a very nice coffee, creamy with a good strong hit and a note of liquorice. Its quite cozy inside, seating around 18-20 at most. There is seating outside, and on a beautiful sunny day like today, that is ideal. Thanks for a great cup of coffee and if Im ever over in San Diego again Ill be sure to pop in again.

This place makes the best lattes in San Diego, hands down! The roast is creamy, and everything about my coffee this morning made me happy that its Monday because I was nearby! I ordered the salted caramel latte (they make their own caramel, yum!) and the foam was sweet, caramel-y, and perfectly poured. I even took a photo because the ribbons of foam were so perfectly blended with the coffee crema. Beautiful! While you should definitely try their cold brews straight from the tap or a freshly-ground individually brewed cup of hot coffee or tea, their espresso is to die for.

Fun staff and great tasting tea. I didnt get coffee, needed a refreshing dose of ice black tea. Came during comic con weekend and the staff was dressed up. Super friendly and well designed. Parking might be difficult, so I suggest walking if your down. They have lots of baked goods and snacks so enjoy a quick refresher! Seems locals love it, so must be a great joint to get a nice cup of Joe!

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Such a shame considering during my stay in San Diego people have been nothing but kind and welcoming. I have never felt so unwelcome in a business in my life. For reference the girl who served me had long black hair and tattoos, the other girl with glasses was very kind and professional.

If this is good coffee, Id rather go back to Starbucks. It was burnt not roasted. And when asking the lady at the counter if they roasted the beans themselves she got rather snooty. My fiancé and I stayed at the US Grant for our vacation to San Diego. It was rain all day, we finally decided just to stroll around downtown / Gaslamp area. I came from Java and I also lived in Washington State as well. Both places fill with coffee snobs as you know, that made me really picky about my coffee. We walked around and saw WestBean Coffee, at first I wasn’t sure if this is going to be a good coffee shop.We finally walked in and ordered 2 coffee latte, with almond milk, no sugar. Just plain black and almond milk. I took a sip and I can’t believe what I tasted, it’s so smooth yet pretty strong coffee (not watered down coffee). Being a coffee drinker, it’s hard for me to “fall in love in the first sip”. You see, I have travelled many states and not to mentions coffee shops and this is one of the best coffee I ever tasted. I am glad I didn’t put any sugar, because the taste of coffee itself is so delicious and I can’t believe it was almond milk because it was creamy enough or they just did amazing job to froth the milk. The baristas are friendly, they are kinda quite though, which is no problem at all. Some people just want to be left alone in a coffee shop…The ambiance is a bit noisy because it’s located by the busy street. I guess this is more for people who grab coffee on the way to work or after lunch. After the first round of coffee, me and my fiancé got the second round. I got the Oolong Tea to-go and he got a cup of Long Black to-go. The Oolong tea was strong, which is good because I love strong tea. The Long Black was pretty smooth too, my fiancé liked it! I would definitely come back here and I am actually trying to order their coffee beans, I just have to email them which one that they use on the store because it was SO GOOD.
