I love Lighthouse Ice cream. My favorite ice cream place since I was a kid! Everytime I go I have my ice cream waffle or a big chocolate ice cream sandwich. They have plenty of flavors, some vegan, regular, without gluten, etc. If you are around OB and is summer. You have to definitely try it!!! Prices worth the flavor and portions.

This is the perfect spot to get an ice cream and the walk down onto the beach or the pier. We went and got a treat and then watched the sunset on the beach. They had lots of flavors and toppings to choose from and thier waffle cones were great.

Visited this classic ice cream shop for the waffle sandwiches. I found the waffle sandwich a little soft and broke apart while eating. Still it was a great experience. The ice cream flavours are delicious and it has a great location close to the beach.

Stopped by after dinner because their famous waffle ice cream sandwiches had caught our eyes when we walked by! We were too full to try them this time, but I was thrilled to have a $3 mini sundae with a little scoop of peanut butter chocolate ice cream, Nutella syrup, whipped cream, and a cherry. Loved the variety of choices in a perfect sized treat!

This place has been here since 1997! WOW! Ice cream and steps from the beach. What more can you ask for? When we came, it wasnt crowded at all but still appeared to be getting good business. There are an unlimited amount of flavors you can try which is awesome. My favorite is the Mint n chip and my boys loved the cake batter and dole whip float. They carry Double Rainbow and Cascade ice cream which is hard to find supposedly. Lucky for us!I enjoyed the ice cream and the environment. This would be a great hang out spot after covid, I really recommend even if you want to just stop in for quick ice cream! Theres other options that I want to come back and try as well. A+ service!

I had a huckleberry waffle ice cream sandwich and my boyfriend had the toffee ice cream waffle sandwich. Both were so good! Mine alone cost me about $8 with tip.

Our scoops of ice cream were literally the size of a golf ball!!! So expensive and you don’t get much. Very very slow at scooping these tiny baby scoops, that really shouldn’t take long. The ice cream was nothing special.

I LOVE this place. So many different flavors, all of them great. Its right by the beach, so its perfect placement to get a cold snack to cool off. I recently got the salted caramel on a waffle cone, and I kid you not, I was transported to a place of joy. I dont normally smile like this (is this even a smile? Haha), but I knew this cone was trouble, and I loved every manic moment of it. Definitely recommend!

I tried the waffle sandwich (about $6) and wasnt as hypnotized by it as most people. It was too squishy and plain for me. My friend liked it for those reasons though, so its just preference. I also didnt think the ice cream was that great. I sampled huckleberry, birthday cake, and strawberry cheesecake and ended up going with cookie dough. None of them really stood out to me, and the huckleberry was pretty weak, especially compared to WA state. Again, just kind of plain and not as sweet or flavorful as Id prefer.The portions were pretty good, and they have a variety of things. Id probably have enjoyed one of their cookie cones more than the waffle sandwich.

Easily one of my favorite ice cream shops of all time. A must stop when visiting Ocean Beach. The fresh apple pie ala mode and unusual cones are awesome. Dog friendly - they even have dog safe ice cream available! Which makes it perfect post dog beach excursions.

The staff is nice and the ice cream is delicious! We went 4 times on a 3 day trip from AZ. I tried mint chocolate chip and huckleberry heaven. They even have dole whip soft serve! I recommend all 3. Dont be afraid to try the different cones!

Wow. Just wow. We visited this place for dessert for the first time and I am so impressed! 2 of us were dairy free and that vegan mint chip ice cream was shockingly good. So creamy with none of the ice crystals or overpowering coconut taste that many dairy free flavors have at other places. Waffle cones were also great (leak-free!) and there were very generous portions for the price! 2 of us were also gluten free, so it was really nice that they had gluten free cones. They’re not as incredible-tasting as the ice cream, but it’s wonderful to see a gluten-free-friendly option so we can finally enjoy this treat one-handed again. We’ll be back for sure!

Oh my gosh! This place is the best frozen custard in the country. Summertime is the best because they have fresh fruit to put in custards. Delicious. And they have a girl that works named Lucy who is precious. Love this place.

I cant write enough good things about this place. The staff is friendly and efficient, which is ideal in the summer with the heat and increase of the tourist. They will get you in and out as quickly as possible with a smile on their face.They have ice cream selections for all pallets, even for your pup! My favorite is the moosetracks. They do rotate flavors, but stay pretty consistent with their staples.They have a million signs on the doors, but it is CASH ONLY. No joke. They have an ATM for those who dont have cash.The prices are very reasonable considering the location and the amount of ice cream you get. Ive never personally tried them, but theyre known for their waffle sandwiches and Ive heard great things. They do have an outdoor seating area but its a small place that can get pretty crowded.No dedicated parking, unless you get lucky with a spot on Newport Ave. Hands down best ice cream spot in San Diego. Pricey as it gets, but it was really good. The smell coming from inside is what got our attention while out for a walk with a friend. There are a lot of flavors, some of which I had never seen before. I like classic flavors, and my friend likes to experiment with new ones, so we got a banana split (3 flavors plus 3 toppings and a banana), and a double scoop waffle cone. All 5 flavors were delicious and there was a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Because it was rather expensive, I wouldnt go here very often, but for a special treat once in a while, I definitely recommend it.

Located at the end of Newport just before the beach, if you dont notice this small shop you will certainly smell it! Known for delicious, freshly made waffle cones and cups, the aroma and flavor contained within is a must try. The also provide ice cream sandwiches, shakes/malts and a wide variety of toppings for your treat.

Very interesting flavors. I had grapefruit jalapeño on waffle cone. I love it. Not for everyone though. My cousins couldnt care less of that. But then they were all happy with their choices. Its one of my must stop when Im in town.

This ice cream shop is fantastic!! They have a DELICIOUS non-dairy mint chocolate chip ice cream (and I usually don’t like night chocolate chip but this one is so good)! And they have. Huckleberry ice cream (Possibly a non-dairy sorbet? I can’t remember) but it is also delicious! I make the trip to OB just for this ice cream shop, I highly recommend! Remember, cash only! They have an ATM inside, but it’s nice to be prepared. :) (it’s worth the atm fee if you have to do it ;)

Theyre open till 10 pm! And they have a sugar free cherry ice cream that we just keep coming back for.
