The staff here is amazing! They went beyond the call of duty! The young man at the register was very helpful, he saw I had my baby in her kangaroo and it would have been hard to carry all my donuts and drinks so he took time to help me put it all in a bag that made it so much easier. Then another young girl gave my little a sticker. It was just a great experience. Oh yeah, the donuts were amazing!!! They also gave us and extra donut for my baby ❤️I wish I got his name but he was working on Sunday @ 9:20 am

These donuts are probably the most expensive donuts I’ve paid for, but they are MASSIVE. Tasty, great quality, and great service. We got there around 9:15 am and they still had some of everything. Great place to stop at in SD!

Omg, this place was so so good! The donuts were huge; I couldn’t even finish all of mine! I got the Homer, and it was well worth it! My child got a birthday cake one, and my husband got a creme brulee. Seating was limited. The service was excellent! If you’re ever in San Diego, you NEED to try this place out! 🍩🤤🤌🏼

We were visiting from St. Louis. We thought the donuts were something special based on the ratings and reviews. We arrived early on Saturday morning. Second in the what would become obnoxious line.. Their donuts are simply dough with a bunch of sugary toppings. NO FLAVOR! The French toast donut is DISGUSTING! French toast is not a bread covered by an omelet. French toast is dipped in the egg mixture but should not be coated. Their donut is an omelet. 🤮 Their apple donut was bland. The apples inside clearly had not been sweetened because they tasted like fresh apples and cinnamon. No sugar inside that one. 😒 I can simply say their donuts are underwhelming. So, purchase at your pleasure. Just be warned. 😘If youre in St. Louis, come visit Vincent Van Doughnut and get some TRUE artisan 🍩.

Came here for fathers day and these made this special occasion so much sweeter, pun intended. They definitely lived up to all the hype and even exceeded my expectations. I dont know how they get donuts this big to still be light and fluffy, but their magic tastes good. Pro tip, get there early on the weekends. I was there at 0700 and was 2nd in line. By the time the doors opened, the line was wrapped around the block. Definitely come here for an amazing mouthgasm, you wont be disappointed.

A very unique donut place to try out new flavors that are not commonly used in donuts. Staff here were friendly and very helpful. I personally tried the lemon cheesecake donut which was a delight. You have to go early though because they close at 12 noon and sometimes they may run out.

Donut Bar is home to the BEST donuts I have ever had! I always make sure to go to Donut Bar at least once when I am in San Diego. Donut Bar is known for their French Toast Donut, which is made to order, so you are guaranteed to have a delicious donut. It is definitely worth all the hype! The grilled cheese donut, while sounding like a weird combination, is also really good too! Usually these donuts are served on the weekend, but once in a while I have been able to get them on a Thursday when I have visited in the summer. If there is a line, I would not pass by, as the line does tend to move quickly. If you can’t make it to Donut Bar on the weekend, I still highly recommend going as all of their donuts are so good. The menu does change, but there are some donuts that are there pretty much every day. I personally like how the menu changes as it allows you to try different donuts. Some of my favorites have been the creme brulee, apple fritter, old fashioned, cinnamon sugar, and so many more that I won’t continue on! I do recommend going there in the morning, as they do close when they sell out.

First time here and you have to come early. Arrived about 8ish and already 12 people in line but moved fairly quickly. Strawberry cream cheese one of their popular ones and simple chocolate bar is delicious!!! Donuts run about $3-$6. So 8 donuts ran us about $30.... something different and way to get your sugar fix...lol

This was one of my favorite places in San Diego! I was there for 3 days and I liked the place so much that I went there twice! Obviously need to keep the daily sugar in control. They have amazingly friendly staff and great service. There is always a queue here. I went on a Sunday morning and there were at least 30 people ahead of me. But worth the wait and the calories!

What a cool place! Probably heaven for a donut lover, specially creative and sweet donuts. Very impressed by the creativity in Pop-Tarts donut as well as the Cadbury Egg Donut. My favorite donut was the Strawberry Cream donut.In general was not impressed by the flavor of the donut. Felt a bit too “bready” and too reliant on the toppings to make them special. Had higher expectations on the actual donut portion when saw that they are recognized as a top 10 donut place in the country. Regardless this is an experience that you should have if in town!

All I can say is WOW! These donuts are the size of your head (almost) and even bigger on flavor! We tried the creme brulee (regular donut with the hard sugar shell, filled with Bavarian cream), the caramel latte (regular donut with caramel and maybe maple topping), the Homer (a delightful pink donut just the way Homer Simpson would love), the apple pie (sugar donut with apple pie filling), the maple bacon bar (long donut with maple topping and loads of bacon down the center - amazing), the strawberry shortcake (a donut split in half with lots of cream and fresh strawberries in the middle), and a chocolate donut, forgot the name but it had chocolate curls on top. All were equally scrumptious. Their coffee drinks and hot chocolate were on point as well. So worth the trip downtown. Not an experience Id forget anytime soon. Try it, you will love it!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars because they went above and beyond with everything. They did a beautiful job on the custom donuts and they don’t usually do custom donuts but they said they would do them for me! Javi was wonderful over the phone and in person my cashier was so sweet and talkative. And that’s just on the customer service. They also made beautiful donuts and they tasted wonderful!!

I wouldnt go as far as saying these are the best donuts anywhere. I would, however, say that they have the most unique variety of donuts that Ive ever seen. Prices range from $3-5 per donut, which is a bit steep, but theyre definitely worth a try. Recommend you get there earlier than later because we stayed a few blocks away and every day they were sold out by 11.

A bit too sweet. Even my sweet loving children couldnt finish their donuts. There was also an essence of the scented cleaner the store uses absorbed into the donuts. It was a fun experience though. Where else can you get a unicorn or turkey donut. The kids had fun picking their donuts.

Great donuts, order ahead if you can. Minimum online order quantity is 12 but you dont have to wait in line. We ate 12 of these over 3-4 days and donuts did not get dry. Maple bacon, nutella overload, beer butter, and Samoa are definitely a must try!

Finally got ourselves to drive to one of the locations and check it out. The store was nice and the service was really great. The donuts looked beautiful though much seemed to be sold by 11 am. Still got to get a few of their special ones especially the sprinkle ones for kids. To be honest the donuts were got but not extraordinary. Maybe we missed some of the good ones by the time we came. Still it was a good experience and worth a try!

I love this place! They have a great selection of donuts and I always manage to find something new to tempt me away from what I thought I would order. Today it was the last remaining candied pineapple macadamia nut (Id call I a Hawaiian) donut. OMG! It was heaven! I thought it was one of their delicious pistachio donuts. I was kinda disappointed that it wasnt but geez-louise I am so happy the server talked me into it! I could go for another one right now even though Im still in a sugar coma! I also got a chocolate glazed donut half covered with shaved chocolate curls, (Yum!), and one of their red-velvet donuts.They also serve great coffee and unexplainably beer, which I obviously explains the name Donut BAR! Homer Simpsons go to spot in SD!

My wife got a dozen sent to the hotel room for our anniversary and let me tell you there is very little that can beat a phone call from the front desk saying there are donuts ready for you to pick up. And the donuts were all amazing. More than that the variety of the donuts was amazing. There was an Oreo donut, a creme brulee donut, a Homer Simpson big pick donut to name a few.I would say donut bar certainly has the best variety of donuts in San Diego. I cannot reccomend enough. Especially that Oreo one I loved that one.

Ive only been here twice and each time is so memorable. I picked up donuts for my housemates and they really enjoyed them.The wide variety of flavors really stood out to me. I also had a tea latte this last time that was really good. The staff was very attentive and patient with me. I have trouble making decisions but they answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. As a person with some anxiety issues this was very comforting.Although its not rational to have giant donuts everyday 😅 I definitely will come here more on a cheat day.

I hate how AWESOME their donuts are! The temptation is great to go there daily. Seriously the best **vegan** donuts I have ever had - fresh, fluffy, and lots of different and exciting flavors. I had the creme brulee, and the strawberries and cream. Both to die for! The caramelized sugar actually cracks just the way its supposed to.

Ordered a box of donuts three days in advance to surprise my wife for her birthday. I did it through a food delivery service. I just received notification the night before that Donut Bar cancelled the order. I double checked with the delivery service and they confirmed it was Donut Bar who were the one who cancelled it. We have newborn who needs constant attention. Picking up myself from there is not an option. Thanks for ruining a birthday surprise the night before! If you won’t deliver than don’t make yourself and option on Door Dash. At the very least you could have cancelled the order within 24 hours of ordering. Or even giving context as to why you are canceling. Not that cancelling at all is acceptable.Again.. thanks for ruining my plans

Holy donut! I had such an amazing experience at Donut Bar. I got there first thing in the morning to ensure I had a good selection and there were a ton to choose from. I had a hard time narrowing down my choices and wish I could’ve eaten every one of them in there l. The place has such a cool vibe and even had chocolateand strawberry milk on tap. Ive heard of Donut Bar for a long time and know about the long lines, so I felt lucky to stop in on a weekday when it wasnt slammed. I dont know what the acclaim is about. The donuts were big in size, but not in flavor. I ordered an apple pie donut (its time for fall flavors) and was met with dough in my mouth bite after bite. Eventually I reached the apple pie filling, which was concentrated in the middle. Meh.

Came here on Friday night and its quite cool place! Donuts with a bar that serves beer! Nice ambience and friendly staffs. We got the donut thats filled with strawberry and cream. At first, I thought its going to be too heavy. But, its a perfect match. Donut is dense but the cream is light and fluffy. And its only $3!

He desserts are absolutely beautiful although they look a little bit better than the test. That said, definitely a worthwhile fun treat… The place is usually really packed with undergraduate students, so I can get a little bit noisy if you were planning to hang out here to work (make sure you have a full charge, because the outlets are hard to find).

On a recent work trip out west passed by this place and the smell of fresh donuts sucked me in. I resisted my whole trip but the day I left I picked up a half dozen to bring back for the wife and kids. OMG they were so good and I am so sad that they are on the other side of the country. Do they deliver? If they don’t they should seriously think about it. The donuts were so delicious. The dough had great texture and just the right amount of sweetness. You could taste the distinct flavors in each component of the donut and they looked great too. They were amazing the day after I got them. I can only imagine how good they are fresh. Looking forward to my next trip to SD just to have Donut Bar donuts again!!!

I had high hopes for this place due to some of the stellar reviews and inventive flavor profiles. So much so that I made this place a must-visit during our short stay in San Diego. And while the donut toppings were impressive and tasty, the donuts themselves fell flat. They were drier and more dense than I expected and didnt taste fresh at all, even after a mere couple hours. Disappointing overall.

I had heard a lot of reviews about the place so finally decided to give it a try.The place has amazing variety of donuts. As can be seen in the pictures I added, they have some very interesting donut arrangements. You can get great coffee to go with the donuts. There are comfortable seating areas on the floor above.It is a must try for locals as well as visitors.Although I feel if you visit in groups, you would be able to try more variety. They also had balloons for kids.

They also had one called the Homer and it looked just like the one from the Simpsons. The line was long but well worth the wait. They also have some delicious beverages to match. Go there!

Stopped here because I got a referral from a friend to check this place out. We got here and the line was about 25 people deep. Line went quick and there were plenty donut styles available but to ensure youre getting the donuts that you want make sure to stop here early. The shop was closed when I went on a weekday afternoon at 3pm.. But I must definitely try it so I went again at 7am the next day and there was a short queue already! I would like to start off by saying this location is in a beautiful area of downtown,and made me feel safe as i was visiting while on Vacation!! Once you walk in you feel like a kid in a candy store with the variety of donuts they have as they are amazing!! The donuts sold here are huge i cant believe how big they are!! The Donuts here are extremely reasonably priced for the portion you will receive. While visiting i had several different Donuts and no way i could pick a favorite due to how delicious they were!! Now lets talk about the staff, they were so extremely friendly and courteous, neat and well groomed!! I’m not sure where the owner found such delightful employees but he is extremely blessed with his team!! Don’t let the line out front keep you away as you will miss out on an amazing experience!! I highly recommend you visit this location while in the area as you will be extremely satisfied with all the delicious choices they have to offer daily!!

I will never spend my money here again. I waited in line for a good 15 minutes. When I finally got to being 3 people from the door you allowed a good 10 to 15 people cut in front of a line that had 20 to 25 people in it.
