I have been to this grocery store many times. It’s nice bc it’s downtown but the employees here lack the customer service other store have. There are almost never baskets or carts available and it takes forever to checkout. They have most everything you need in a store but I often times will drive out of my way to go somewhere else if I have the time.
Convenient and clean full size store located in downtown San Diego. There is a free underground parking garage with two entrances and exits so even if you are coming here for the first time you could just drive around the block a few times and easily find an entrance. The store is always clean and has security and is wheelchair accessible from the parking garage. The floral section is particularly lovely with a pretty full and varied selection. All sections (deli, produce, bakery, frozen, processed foods, body care, household goods, etc.) are consistently fully stocked and feature a good seasonal selection of rotating items and new goods.
Marginally cheaper than Ralph’s, but much lower quality meats and produce. You’ll usually find someone screaming in this Albertsons depending on when you come in.But the worst part is how they have probably 10 carts for the entire grocery store. You tell an employee and they basically say “dang that sucks”. It’s not the employees fault, though, it’s Albertsons for not buying more carts. There’s been more than one occasion when I needed to buy a weeks worth of groceries, saw no carts, and just decided to leave since I don’t want to have to try and carry all the food in my arms.If you’re looking for value, go to smart and final or grocery outlet. If you’re looking for good food, and decent service (including a cart!) go to Ralph’s. Otherwise this is mostly just a go-to when you’re closer to Albertsons than Ralph’s.
Always good. The self serve staff is always cheerfully helpful
Prices across the board are at least a third more expensive than anywhere else. Will never shop there again. And on top of that, while I was shopping, my bicycle was vandalized. My seat, seat post, front and rear lights, as well as my reflecters were all stolen. In less than 15 minutes of shopping. 😡
Great the people are very friendly and nice especially In the deli
Best prices. Always clean and fully stocked. Fresh vegetables and fruits. Best quality meats, seafood and poultry!
Just went there to buy several painkillers for a friend. Been there also for shopping as well, and Albertsons has good variety of foodstuffs and bakery items. Over all, prices are reasonable. The location is at 14th & Market.
Its a decent downtown grocery store. The butcher shop is nice.
Busy and well stocked loaded fruit department.great deals on fresh meats all kinds. Shop around on the racks little treasures on reduce prices can make it a good trip.
Priced a bit more then I am used too, sorry about prior review.i was not clear.Obviously it is more expensive then bargain stores anywhere.tjis would also depend on the item you seek as well.tThere is street parking thats limited but also offers a garage....there are geourgeous homes and apartments to live in this neighborhood however you will be more likely to notice more people hanging around in transition. Its really awesome because some days they are giving away free phones w D and Jerome and soon I may be there too.also you will see lots of pet lovers w a venue across the street .buy some brews and hit the town too
Wonderful store with convenient location downtown. Great service. Frozen selection is awesome. Parking and basement highly appreciated.
Despite the annoyances, this is arguably the best balance of price/quality/shopping experience in downtown San Diego. This location needs to make a serious investment in their trolley system. Not only are the escalators frequently broken, you may not even get working shopping cart. Thankfully their groceries are good quality and staff are quite pleasant.
Located in the eastern part of downtown on Market Street. Although this location has a Starbucks fresh flowers, fresh seafood and cooked meals at the deli, prices are overcharged, supply is limited, and there are NEVER carts or baskets. The walking ramp rarely works and becauase the location is near gentrification, the shopping clientele could put off the shopping experience. I would not recommend this Albertsons for those who have limited mobility, or nay require using a cart.I come here several times a week because of convenience but Im sure wheelchair or disabilities assistance would be limited to non-existent.Employees are exceptional.
Albertsons is the best, but I really like the hot and cold prepared foods counter. Oh! And the bakery is to die for, but please dont hahaha.
Shout-out to Ish in produce for helping my girlfriend and I look for ice cream - they were out of the flavor she wanted, and he went in the freezer and found some! That man deserves a raise.
Best deli food. Very good employees. Easy to access by bus. Friendly to persons bringing own bags.
I moved from downtown San Diego last year and having a closer Albertsons near me but keep coming back because of these wonderful ladies LETTY COOKIE AND LETTY THE manager. These women are wonderful and go over and beyond with customer service. Always very clean store and security is great too.
Good selection of anything you might need from a full-featured grocery store. Parking is available under the building and accessible from the north and south streets. I reserve 5 star ratings until Ive visited a place at least a couple times, or a single extraordinarily positive experience.
Store is clean, well stocked, only thing I cant stand is the ascending moving walkway from the parking garage to the store is always OFF! But the one going the opposite way works. the f? lol
Serious mental health issues running rampant surrounding this transient infested location. Don’t walk to this location if your not from around there. Use the underground parking and your experience will be a better one
It was great. Found everything I needed.
Bad place to shop! Minus 5 stars ! No shopping carts. Ever! Last 6 times I went there there was no carts to be had. Complained to manager. Still no carts! Will never shop there again! Boycott this store !!!
Customer Service was bad. I been coming here for the last year, and until today one of the customer service working was rude and they were not even trying at all. If you need customer service This is the wrong place, I am not shopping here again!!
Friendly staff fresh food good prices
How does this location have such a high rating? They never have shopping carts and the tomatoes in the produce section are always swarming with flies 🤮I used to put up with it but now I go somewhere else
I shop here all the time and until today have never had a bad experience. I use a small backpack as a purse (with my wallet, keys, medication, etc.) and today suddenly there was a security guard at the door. He told me I had to leave my bag at the front of the store with him and that hed watch it the whole time. He said this three times.Just incase, I removed all valuables and left my bag. Well, upon returning to my bag I found it unattended. If Albertsons thinks people are going to steal from the store with backpacks, what do they tthink is going to happen with a pile of unattended peoples belongings sitting right at the front of the store?Pretty angry about this, honestly.
For being a center of downtown grocery store, its very clean and well kept. The stockings is great and prices are decent as well. Of you dont have a club card get one, the rewards are good and why not save money!!
Dogs, homeless and a nasty, unmasked cashier gives one the real SD Downtown vibe.
Eh. Ive seen better Downtown markets elsewhere.
Convenient location and parking, and one shared cart for the entire store. Hope youre shopping small, because all thats available aside from the one cart is hand baskets.
Got what I needed. In and out really quickly
This is the first time bring here at a grocery store with a escalator in it. I live in Arizona, so prices are nearly the same there. But the place feels a little old needs a remodel. Machines look out dated. And the staff seemed bit rude when trying to help customers.
Albertsons always has what Im looking for, & then some...store is clean & employees are prompt & courteous...
I shop here often as I only live two blocks away. For the most part it is always a good experience. The customer service is always good. However, I do have one big gripe. SHOPPING CARTS! They never seem to have any available during the busy parts of the day. Waiting 15 min for a cart makes me want to go to another store.
Love Albertsons, employees are really nice and definitely accommodating ☺️
My neighborhood store where I can shop from a few items to a weekly trip. The staff that work there are top rate, and the atmosphere is pleasant that you feel comfortable to shop there.
My checker was awesome! Fast, helpful and answered my questions. Thank you Andrew for being awesome!
Great store very well stocked and the produces is good
Kelly, Andrew & Letty are the friendliest cashiers in town! Quick, efficient & kind.. thanks 😊
Security is on point, dont steal from there! Stuck up employees..
Just went to to pick up some Seafood.
Gray Deki and Seafood Selection
There were no shopping carts and when I told the manager on duty, he didnt seem to care. I had planned on doing my weekly shopping, but without a cart its impossible,
Restroom is in employees only area as a frequent albertsons shopper this was disappointing that it wasn’t handicap acessible
Great selection fresh produce
It was a good experience. Its time for his friendly and helpful. And to check out was relatively smooth
Go well before closing time unless you want most of the employees to be openly hostile towards you.
Great location. Love their selection.
I purchased a cake online from their bakery for my sons 5th birthday and I was blown away by the customer service I received. They didnt have the exact toys that were shown in the photo online and they called to ask if it was ok if they went to another store to purchase toys that were similar. Then they gave my son the extra toys that came in the package and the cake was done beautifully! I wish I knew the name of the woman who made the cake, regardless, I would highly recommend getting your specialty cakes here.
Great store to shop at employees seem happy and helpful. I will be back
First we were accused of not paying for the cake (even though we had a copy of the order) we had to go home and get the original receipt. THEN we get the cake and the word Happiness is mispelled SMH Terrible customer service
This is a grocery store in the East Village area of Downtown San Diego. It has pretty much what you would expect from an Albertsons. This store has an unhappy security guard shooing away the homeless/mentally ill people. This store has some very HIGH prices. If you live in the neighborhood, you will shop there out of necessity... UPDATE they have the worst Deli Department, I have ever seen. The deli area is unorganized and borderline filthy. Never seems to be a manager around to step it up. They all should be Re-trained. They all pretend not to look up and see if you need help ( check the cameras ) Terrible way to operate a delicatessen and display food. No customer service as well!
A little expensive..but I walk from my house.. pharmacy staff great! Always have what I need. Self checkout is great too! Starbucks inside..good location downtown
A favorite must visit bakery for pot pie lover on a early evening, covid-19 protocols in place, excellent service, security and lots of parking area thanks Albertsons
They guy with the red/blonde hair was so very helpful. I was searching for a few items and he really went far and beyond to assist me... I found the chop sticks!!!
Pharmacy is great always helpful and not to much of a wait.. The main store is to disorganized to make any since any more. Bread on 1 and chips on 12 aisle come on folks. Really,!!!!
Been going to albertsons for years great people workers are always happy friendly Love it.
Why is the security guard always following me around and staring at me ? Learn to be suttle or get better cameras 🎥
Honestly nothing wrong with the store, it’s clean and organized but kind of over priced and the selection is pretty limited. Especially in the meat department.
Amazing selection of food!
My go-to grocery store. Albertsons has a good variety of products and I can generally find everything I need. Good app with weekly deals and sometimes free items. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice hot items at the deli too. I couldnt believe how good the tri-tip was. Definitely higher quality than you would usually expect from hot foods at a grocery store.
There are too few shopping-carts and sometime none at your downtown San Diego store on 14th Street. It is impossible to do ones weekly shopping without a cart. This problem has been unresolved for months.
One of my favorite grocery stores downtown to shop at which is nearby so its not that far of a walking distance usually have pretty much everything that I need just wish I had a larger refrigerator freezer so I could put food in it instead of having to go shopping just about every day in order to eat
Theyve stepped up their customer service and its the ONLY STORE DOWNTOWN that actually allows you to use their restroom.
Albertsons is Albertsons. You know what they have and they always have it.
They dont give you shopping carts. Or the homeless made off with them all that day.-2 stars for no shopping carts
Great food ideas. If your hunger.
Carlos is the slowest worker ever. Please re-train him
On the inside, this location is clean and the employees are typically friendly and helpful. The outside, unfortunately, suffers from the same level of disparity that plagues large Californian cities like San Diego. and is usually surrounded by homeless people and garbage. But its pretty safe to shop here at night. They have tons of products, produce and healthy food choices.
Clean store, shelves stocked, friendly helpful employees.
The staff hee is awesome. I live a block away from another market and at the moment I dont have a car. Albertsons is 10 blocks away and I rather walk there than walk to the store that is a block away. Dont get me wrong its not because Albertsons is cheaper its because their precooked food taste better.
Ive LOVED this place for many, many years now. When they were in City Heights too! They have t.phree very special people and a lot more that I dont know Im sure! There is: Cookie, Andrew, & Leticia! And of course Joanne!! Great people! Thanks Barbara Davis and John Detzauer
Always great products, clean and the service is good.
Friendly staff and well stocked, I teally like the meats and stuffed mushrooms at butcher counter. Underground pkg a plus downtown. Starbucks also in store.
Great people working here always helpful. The store manager donated water and snacks for poll workers in a number of the last elections, when I asked him for a discounted price. Super nice.
I went on a Sunday and some shelves werent stocked at all. Staff didnt seem to care.
Its an Albertsons. They will try to get you to leave an hour before closing, with loudspeaker reminders every five minutes for the last 40 mins. Theyre also not the cleanest store ever, and Ive experienced customers and employees smoking in the underground garage where there is no ventilation. Ive even found a still burning cigarette butt in the elevator. As someone with asthma this is problematic to say the least, and I do wish they would smoke outside on the open-air sidewalk instead. But the employees deal with a lot being downtown and they generally do it with an impressively positive attitude, so I gotta give them credit for that. Good work guys, and thank you to everyone working through this pandemic, I know its been tough (and thats an understatement). Yall get 5 stars and my respect.
Convenient and open until 11!
It has what you need big store no parking around area easy to get to by bus or walking
This is an acceptable place to shop but definitely not great. Selection of commercial food options are pretty standard. Produce section is ok but definitely dont expect much in the way of select or specialty items. Organization of the store could be better. Very small pharmacy section. In fact, it is a small store in general and its serving a densely populated downtown metropolis so it does often get crowded. That being said, the lack of grocery options in downtown San Diego is pretty unbelievable.
Very happy with the store, cant wait when they go back to 24hrs.
While cooking I realized my cilantro was bad. I walked to there at 10:30 at night. They were open and had both organic and regular produce. Thanks Albertsons! Now I can finish my Chili Verde.
You can earn another star when you give Cookie retroactive pay. Shes always sweet as..Also, shout out to Carlos, & Jennifer on cashier duty. John in produce. And Rapheal at the deli counter.
Ivan makes a killer sandwich. Very pleased with his service!
Albertsons. Good place to shop quick in n out. Park in the garage, theyve eliminated the few spots on 14th street.
I shop here every day or two, its a block from my house, and Im actively looking for alternatives. The customer service is uneven. And the store is poorly organized.
Need more shopping carts.
Love Albertsons!! Great deals with my JUST 4 U app!! Rack up purchase points for cash discounts and free stuff of your choice. All staff members are friendly & helpful-they remember your name too!!
Their service is great but they have more than one security. Guard as you enter the store and noticed 2 more as I walked down the aisle s
A great place to shop E-Z Parking Underground everythings clean and organized good after sphere with cashiers or helpers Ill be back
I don’t understand how they expect you to shop without carts.
Stopped here for cereal. Store was clean, friendly staff.
Its great.everyone knows me,its like family.
No longer has little debbie swiss cake rolls. ☹
Impressed with store cleanliness. Employees especially the person running self check-out were in control of the store. Making sure everyone was moving in and out in a safe manner while social distancing and observing protocols.
Went in here to buy a specific phone card for my wireless carrier but they didnt have it. However they were very helpful in trying to help me locate it. Ill go back soon for something else im sure.
Great but shopping carts are missing.
