I purchased a straw fedora with a price in excess of $100. The listing/description indicated the hat had a snap brim. It did not. This left me with two options; mess around with steaming the brim or send it back. Ive been down this road before (with a VHS hat purchase) and havent had success steaming the hat. If the hat had not have been advertised as having a snap brim, I would not have ordered it. I wouldve made this review/suggestion via a customer service email; but no such option exists on VHS website. Overall, very disappointed that I have to screw around to make an expensive hat appear as described. 50-50 chance that, after steaming the hat, it will not look right and still need to go back. I have ordered hats from VHS before; but this experience will make me rethink ever ordering from them again.
Excellent customer service! The beret I ordered was not the advertised size and, thus, too small for my head. I gave it away. Their customer service department was quick to resolve the situation by sending me a replacement in the advertised size, which I received today. I recently replaced my Panama Jack hat with an identical one.My original had delivered years of wear.My order was delivered promptly - less than one week - and in perfect condition.I am very satisfied and will first shop the Village Hat Shop, either in person or on line for future purchases.I have not asked nor received any payment or compensation for my review.Steve
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. If you do, make sure you will keep it forever. If it doesnt fit, they will request you send back in original packaging (ok fine, this isnt difficult) but they do not provide a shipping label. Ok, fine. But because they mail the hat in an enormous box, it costs $49 to ship back a $50 hat. Nope! Stuck with a hat that doesnt fit and the very unhelpful customer service will remind you that they dont provide shipping labels for returns. Never again!
I order the Henschel leather fedora Safari hat, which is a 2 toned (or distressed as the representative Michelle described it) and I was sent a lighter brown leather solid colored hat. After sending photos to confirm the difference in what I ordered vs what I received,Michelles only solution rather than trying to make it right and get me the correct product, was to send me a return label to ship it back for a full refund. This customer service that I received today on a scale of 1-10 will definitely be a negative zero. I was offended by the request to submit a 2nd copy of the hat that was I identical in color to the first as if to impose I was falsifying my statement but after sending what was requested, the lack of customer service given instead of trying to make it right and just offering a refund without trying to fix their error was enough for me to say I will never order anything from this company again and would caution anyone who is considering doing so. I attached what was sent to me vs what I ordered.

Waited almost a month for two hats that should have been here two weeks ago. Had to go to the post office to pick up the package myself. I ordered a porkpie and a boater hat. Somebody shoved the porkpie into the boater, completely wrinkling the band and denting the hat all around. The boater was dented pretty badly as well. The box had gotten smashed somehow. This is the last time I ever order anything from these people.
Ive never been to the location, but have been shopping via their website it seems since web 1.0 - never had an issue and fin it totally reliable for my hat needs.
Quality isnt good, customer service is horrible and they take your money upfront but takes weeks to get it refunded after theyve already recieved their merchandise back. Im still waiting.....
Awful experience. I ordered a hat on the 21st of September which arrived as the wrong size. I left a message on their answering machine over the weekend expecting to get a call back on Monday. Never happened. When i contacted them on the 29th the lady who i spoke with never even apologized. I asked for overnight shipping when sending the correct one since it was their mistake, was denied. She told me it would be 3-4 day shipping. That was last Tuesday. The hat still isnt here. Never doing business with this place again. This store used to be different.
The hat I’ve worn for the last 10 years finally just wore out. The family just don’t understand the relationship between a man and old hat. They don’t make it anymore and it was labeled as a medium. So I made a mistake in my measuring. They were very quick to respond to my email. And gave me extra assistance in figuring out what I actually wanted. They sent the replacement the next day after receiving my original hat. No fuss or argument. Hat is fine quality and I expect it just might out live me.
Great stop on all counts. Our host Gregory was super cool & helpful. Keep in mind that this is their warehouse, so the browsing experience is limited to the clearance items on display. It really helps if you have already surfed their website, and can show them exactly what you are looking for. Bonus: They have their own parking lot!

This is their clearance shop. Good selection but more popular sizes can be tricky to find. Excellent quality has for men and women. Helpful staff also. Clerk stretched a hat for me.
I ordered 3 Gottex sun hats from the website and they were shipped promptly and arrived in a reasonable amount of time (under 2 weeks). Customer service was good, one of my hats was out of stock and they notified and refunded me promptly. Hats were well packaged and I was really happy with the quality and the price was great. Plus they arrived with no extra customs fees so a huge bonus for Canadian customers.
I ordered one hat online about a month before my vacation. I was looking forward to it but never received it. A few days ago the shipping stated it was shipped and the tracking number emailed, which was incorrect. Never received my hat. Once I emailed them they did refund me the money quickly. For that I am grateful but I would have preferred my hat. Will not purchase anything here again.
I love to buy protection from the sun here. They have all shapes and sizes to accommodate people who have big heads with a huge circumference or small heads like youth sizes. When the doctor tells you should use more protection from the sun choose these guys.

Very disappointed about Village hat shop . usually I buy 3 to 5 new Hats every year from Failsworth Company direct base in Ireland . i never had a size problem 7 1/8, always fit perfectly . ( made in Ireland ) .. once The color didnt work for me and got a refund and free shipping in the next 48 h .....that was with the Irish Comp Fallworth .. but this time i decide to give my Business to village Hat comp, USA business.. i was wrong, size didnt fit way to small Of course Made in China, the website doesnt mention it, and let you think its made in Ireland, .. i never buy anything made in China .. try to get at least the right size, not in STock at this time but No ETA .now i try to send back and i have to pay for Shipping, its not right the size is wrong ?and i ask for refund and i have to wait 7 to 8 weeks,, thats a poor service .. i will stay away from ordering from Village Hat from Now on ..
