Such a fun atmosphere here! Located right on 5th in the Gaslamp (great people watching). Awesome staff, tasty sandwiches and an all around laid back vibe. Perfect little bar in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.

We went to this new brunch spot in North Park for Mothers Day. The staff were all very friendly. The food was terrific and was served in a timely manner. I chose to have the chicken salad sandwich on grilled sour dough and it was awesome! Cant wait to go again and try something different.

The food was pretty good. Mediocre score because we went there solely for the specialty ice cream and they only had one flavor in a pint. They had no pops, no nothing. Drinks were tasty and the bartender did them justice

Chicken Sandwich was very good. Sweet potato fries good! Service slow and a but overwhelmed. 4.5 out of 5.

They had a live “DJ” interrupt the queue and start playing Ramones— not even his own live music—just Ramones off a laptop. says Happy Hour all day so you think it ends at midnight but they stopped it at 9:50 pm.

My waitress/bartender was very friendly and attentive and the food was really good. They serve virgin drinks if you ask. Not too bad prices for food either. They have indoor booths and outdoor seating. The ambiance is really nice; loud music, lots of conversation, yellow light bulbs above the booths, etc. In a tourist-y area but some homeless walk around outside.

Amazing food and phenomenal service. We ate outside with our dog, and our server was incredibly sweet to both us and him. We look forward to returning to Metl in the future!

This restaurant is so fun! Our server was Felipe and he was wonderful - friendly, patient and he even chatted with my 4 year old. I had the SXSW salad and it was delicious, especially the crispy chicken on top.

The food is great and the staff even better! Sliders were delicious, but really missing those pulled pork sliders! Great spot for both dinner and a boozy, after-dinner treat. Will definitely be back.

Got the vegan chicken sandwich. While I’m grateful there’s even an option, it as lackluster and pretty dry. If I go back it’ll just be for beer!

Service is great and the food is phenomenal. The burger slider is a must and their normal sized burgers Im told are just as amazing. Fish taco was good, always needs lime to bring it home. Elote Bowl was really good even when we let it sit and it got cold. Mimosas come in three flavors, pineapple was best.

Boozy ice cream. The perfect after dinner stop when you and your date cant decide between another cocktail or desert.

I am writing on here what I wrote on Yelp...We definitely needed a Metal bar in San Diego! I am so stoked to have this bar so close to home.Bartenders were super friendly, their happy hour deals are unbeatable and the atmosphere is fun! I had one of their Metl House Cocktails, Neon Knights (joven mezcal, pineapple, hibiscus & lime juice) super refreshing!This second time around I was finally able to taste the Peanut Butter Conspiracy and if you love peanut butter and mezcal, this is the dessert for you!!!

Its a great spot with excellent food, including the appetizers, and great people (Lysa was my server), with great service! Their happy hour is unmatched (11 am - 7 pm) and their daily specials are fantastic! Randy and Jenna have a good thing going on in the Gaslamp!

Had a reservation here and was very disappointed :( they didnt have any of the icecream, which is what we came for. They also didnt have rootbeer, tables are sticky and the booth is falling apart. Servers are all very nice tho!

This place was fantastic! Shortly before being welcomed by the friendly folks at Metl, we had an awful experience at a bar just down the street, so by immediate comparison, we were blown away.. Our server, Katie, was an absolute natural at awesomeness and ensured everything about our dining experience was at an 11/10. The food was great and the vast menu was very accommodating for the food with drink laws currently set in place, with tons of options for appetites of all sizes.

My favorite bar in the Gaslamp District! Fun service and staff, amazing happy hour deals, and a variety of beers and drink options.A mural of Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) and other rad decor pay tribute to a Metal theme with additional rock and punk music always on rotation in the background, love it here.

So glad we found this place. We were literally just walking by and the delicious smell of their food brought us in. The service is excellent, the food is Delicious all while taking precautions during COVID. This will definitely be our go to spot whenever were in Gaslamp District (San Diego) also, what won us over is that they have a menu for your four legged fur babies 😍

A breath of fresh air gets added to the pretentious Gaslamp nightclub run around which is 5th Avenue. Mezcal, tequila, and all kinds of miscellaneous bites await your pallette while you get to rock out to your favorite rock songs. Im looking forward to seeing this project bloom. God speed Metl!Also, Christine Ramirez is a total c*nt! She loves leaving bad reviews for no good reason.

Stopped in for the first time last night. My friend was drawn to it because of the old movie playing. We ordered drinks and food. Great place and daily happy hour, even weekends! Bartenders are nice and they have delicious Mimosa, try the watermelon, among other good drinks.

Huge range of beers on tap and Happy Hour runs from 11am-7pm! The fish tacos were amazing 👌

Great Staff & Great Owners

We stumbled upon this gem after a particularly drunk valentines night. They had live music and an inviting atmosphere that drew us in. The place was full but as we walked in, two people got up from the bar, luckily. We ordered a couple beers and fries as a night cap and vowed to come back and last night after a very hilarious comedy show at the American Comedy Co, which is right around the corner, we did. The owner Randy made a mean mezcal old fashioned and the Neon Nights made with Illegal mezcal was a good starter. Last night we also enjoyed live music by Sheila Sondergard who was a draw in and of herself. Even our uber ride home was great... see what good tequila does... hahaha. Give this place a try, youll be hard pressed to find a better location to either start or end your night.

We were the only ones in the bar and I ordered a Mamosa but he poured a portion from a used bottle and then opened a new bottle it was terribly flat … So I let him know...with his bad attitude he threw out the glass and poured me a new one which was definitely better the bad attitude from the bartender ruined the whole experience and we left.
