I ordered a bottle of the Gran Agave Ghost Edition tequila last week and it arrived today, halfway across the country, in perfect condition. It was wrapped with care and I truly appreciate it. It also tastes incredible! I would absolutely buy from Old Town Tequila again

I order twice with Old Town Tequila through mail order, I order some high-quality tequila sent to my home in Ohio that we are unable to get. The first order was perfect and we loved our tequila. The second-order $600 purchase and we had an issue with a bottle that had leaked during shipment. The issue was the lid was too small to keep the liquid in the bottle. The other two bottles were fine but for some reason this one was defective. I reached out via email twice, customer service three times, and then the owner. The bottle was north of $80, I said I would take a coupon or a discount my next shipment because shipping it back and getting a new one would be costly. The owner refused to even offer an apology or work with me. I am giving it three stars because the do a great job of shipping and packaging. This order was not their fault but the manufacturers. I just thought they would back their products or reach out to the distributor about the problem. I guess I need to go to another vendor but wanted to share my experience. I added picture of the bottle after unwrapping it.

Found what Ive been looking for for a while. Customer service is blah but the selection makes up for it. If you are looking for something different and variety then this is the place to visit. I got there right at 8am as per google info and was disappointed to find out they didnt open til 830. I didnt double check the hours on their website but I did look to make sure they had what I neede and realized they keep pretty good listing of their stock. I recommend . Please update info on google to reflect reality as I only had a small window of time and would have been very upset if I could not have waited for them to open.

Saw a extra Anejo tequila I wanted on the website and went to ask for it and the guy at register raised the price by $60 and smirked..was also going to to buy the entire smoke wagon lineup also…disappointing this was my go to shop

I will say that the biggest benefit of this location is its huge selection of different hard liquors. There is so much that there are bottles of liquor that are randomly set on the floor or not organized on the shelves. I will add that the staff didnt seem to care to help customers find what they needed.

This is a great place to get hard to find tequila bottles. They have a lot of choices of bottles. I would give this place 5 stars but there is one little issue is that they close up to 15-20 mins before their actual closing time. For example we went on a Sunday (which they close at 5pm) we got lucky and where able to get there around 4:15. When we finished our shopping. We saw people getting turned away by the staff at around 4:40. Of course the customers look disappointed. Since they closed earlier than expected. Staff turned away about 3 parties of customers. I get closing times are important but my thing is at least honor your actual closing times. Cause something you don’t know how far people actually drive to get to that location.

If its good Tequila youre looking for, this is your spot. Bourbon selection is ok. But they got the Tequila you NEED.

Biggest tequila selection I’ve found in San Diego and they are helpful in making a selection. Only thing i wish was different is that prices are not listed on anything. Besides that - this is my go-to spot for buying fun tequila.

Poor service. They sent me an email that my delivery would be on Fri and that someone needed to be home to sign for it. They never showed. I sent an email and they responded Monday that it would be Tue and someone needs to be here to sign. Today no one showed again. I called and they said it will be Thur and someone needs to be here to sign again. I said to the cust service agent I do not appreciate them telling me to be here to sign on a date and not showing up. She said, I will process a refund and hung up. I place large orders. I was upset and searched for the same tequila elsewhere. I found that the $130 bottles I was buying are cheaper at Wine & more. I will no longer be buying cases of expensive tequilas from your store.

Absolutely disappointed with this place ! I ordered a bottled of tequila to gift to one of my clients for the holidays. It took them over a week to ship the item out, the item arrived damaged with a broken safety seal, and at least 1/4 of the tequila had poured out and was all over the packaging. I called them letting them know about the issue and they asked me to email them pictures which I did. The process to get an answer back took over 20 days and the only reason I got a response was because I kept calling back. Their communication skills are horrible. Their email back to me was them telling me to still gift the bottle to my client. I work with celebrities and high profile people in the entertainment industry. I could never gift them what looks like an open bottle of tequila thats just not acceptable. In the state of California nothing with a broken safety seal should be accepted yet these people cant seem to get that through their head. Im highly disappointed this could have easily been resolved with an easy exchange. I will be opening a claim with california consumers affair.

They have a good variety and good prices, but their shipping is very slow. They will charge your credit card as soon as the order is placed, but usually will take 3 weeks or more to actually ship to you. I placed an order of 12/8/20, today is 1/4/21 and my order still hasnt shipped. I will be going elsewhere for my needs in the future.

I placed an order on December 18th. Their website said I would get it on the 22nd. Its now January 1st. They have my money (over $100) but still havent sent the tequila. The status says awaiting fulfillment. I have sent them numerous emails but have not received a reply. I just want the order I paid for. They need to make it right by providing rushed shipping.

During these crazy times and some high end spirits getting very difficult to find I happened to find Old Town online. I found what I needed and received it in two weeks. Now you have to be patient. They are overloaded with orders. I called after a week because when I checked on my order it said in process or something like that. I spoke to a lady and was informed that on their website it does say that it may take up to two weeks to get the order out. That is true...I missed that. She found my order and it was shipped the next day. Anyway... got my three bottles of Don Julio 70 today and all three bottles were fine.

Over all experience is always good. I wish they would still over the deli sandwich they used to make.

I can only speak about their online store and online orders. I placed an order for two bottles of mezcal. The website showed both bottles to be in stock. I placed the order and waited and waited, and waited.Finally, after eight days, I decided to check the order status, and all it said was: order fulfillment. The next day, I emailed the store asking about the order, shipping status, etc. No response. None. Their contact page even says: mails asking if we can ship to your location will go unanswered.I finally called the store to find out the mezcal I ordered is not in stock, and that they will not fulfill my order.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I bought a bottle as a gift a week and a half ago I emailed them every day inquiring if they could include a gift message I didn’t hear from them until two weeks later letting me know they can’t process my order due to being a first time customer. They issued me a refund and told me to purchase again via PayPal. I guess they think people just have extra money laying around cuz I now have to wait 3 days for the refund to hit my bank so I can issue a new bottle that was supposed to be a Christmas gift which will now come after the holidays because they didn’t get back to me in a timely manner. Worst customer service. This is what I get for trying to support small business? Take care of your customers. I’m so disappointed and do not recommend this place to anyone.

This place was recommended to me by a good friend. He told me to ask for Steven. I went there, asked for Steven who came and greeted be enthusiastically. I told him I was a tequila drinker and wanted to try some new ones. I also needed a good vodka for a birthday present and it had to be good and look fantastic. Within minutes I had purchased the best tequila I’ve ever had and the vodka birthday present overwhelmed my friend when I presented to him. Ah.... It felt so good!

I came to this store tonight to look for an impossible to find tequila, and I found it! This immediately became my most favorite place for tequila. This is a fun place to just walk around and look at all the fun tequilas, many of which I havent seen anywhere else. One warning, many of the bottles arent priced, though I dont think this store does this to trick unwitting customers. If you find a bottle you like, you can search for the price on their website. Prices are good, actually.One warning: when I was here, there was tons of back stock on the floor. You have to be careful when you walk around this place.

Watch out if you order online. You might be pleased to see the wide selection Old Time Tequila offers, but unlike more quality online vendors, Old Time doesn’t actually stock many or even most of these bottles. After four days with no updates on my order, and no replies to my email, I was able to reach someone by phone who put me on hold for a long time. She then explained that my order was taking longer because the tequilas I ordered had to come from Mexico. I hadn’t ordered any tequilas, but rather two rums, and I doubt they were coming from Mexico since they were an Antiguan rum and a Dutch rum. Later they revealed they were coming from a distributor. Do yourself a favor and order from one of the many more honest online vendors who actually stock the items they list.

Was in town visiting family for the weekend and found this gem of a place. Their Tequila selection is amazing! They have aisles and aisles of selections. Ive never seen so many various bottles of Tequila in one place!! Unfortunately the majority of the bottles do not have prices on them but no worries, the staff are super helpful and will look up pricing for you. They made some recommendations as well and seemed very knowledgeable on their products. We ended up purchasing quite a bit of tequila and the owner even threw in a free bottle of his choice tequila for us. Super great experience and will definitely be ordering more from them in the future. Highly recommend!!

Maybe this is a great business if you go there in person. But ordering from their online store is atrocious. I ordered tequila from there after a trip to Mexico on Sept 21 and patiently waited the 14 business days they mention on the website for shipping due to Covid-19. 14 *business* days pass and I email them as the status said awaiting fulfillment and never changed. Nothing. Nada. A few days later, another email just inquiring about status. Radio silence. I finally email (20 *business* days in) asking them if they are not going to ship the order then to provide me a refund bc I paid in full a month ago ($20 shipping!). I get an email that says that a refund was provided. Still no answer on why or even an attempt to resolve them problem.So, basically, they read the emails and decide not to respond to them. Very unprofessional and Id rather just go back to Mexico to buy my tequila than deal with them again. Beware if youre buying online.

I found some rare tequilas here that only in mexico i have been able to find like, tierra sagrada extra añejo, number juan, gran orendain extra añejo and gran valente extra añejo. Really good selection but the owner doesnt have a clue about customer service. Heres a customer interested in a $300 bottle and when asked the price initially his reaction is to say to check their website! When asked if hed tried the whiskey his snapped response was no, he hadnt, because there are hundreds of whiskies in the store. At NO point was he friendly or helpful.One would think that thats as bad as the service got, but no! The ante was upped when he then started mocking our English accents and suggesting that we should consult the Queen on the price.Awful place, they dont deserve your business. Its a shame for the rest of the staff who seemed nice but I definitely wouldnt go back. Save your money for a store that actually wants to help you out and values your custom. If I wanted to be mouthed off to I wouldnt pay a lot of money for the privilege.

Read the fine print. Do not order from their online store. I received two damaged bottles. After emailing the company twice, I get a response with an insert if their fine print. I highly discourage anyone from purchasing from this vendor.

Ive gone there to get specialty boozes. But they invariably dont have it, or claim they could get it and will call me, but never do. This last time I wanted 6 bottles of a kraft bourbon. They had two, for $27 each. Then I went to a big-box store (Begins with B, ends in -mo) and bought four others for $23 each. Not had great experiences with this place.

Ordered from this place online, showed they had it in stock. Time and time went by and never received a shipping notification. Requested one, never got one, requested a refund so I could order elsewhere, luckily got my money back. Place doesnt stock most of what they advertise.

I have spoken to a lot of people at this place and they were nice people! Very helpful and remarkable! I work in the business of customer service and I do travel this wonderful country!! That is until I spoke to Alma on the phone about a claim of a broken bottle! I know things happen! And I called them and spoke to 2 different people and they told me we don’t need the bottle ! We will just send you another one ! Ok I was told this a twice! I called again spoke to Alma and she said we don’t have the bottle ! We just going to give you your money back ! And I said I don’t want the money back! I want what you guys told me twice about sending another bottle of dos artes round bottle that they have in stock but Alma said they don’t have it!!! I have family in San Diego and they told me the bottle is there and is available on the website to add to cart! But Alma said they don’t have it! So my wife called and ask for the Dos artes round bottle ! And she was told they have it and when was she coming for it! So we get Alma On the phone telling my wife that they don’t have it since the women that said they have it was mistaken!! Wow really! After my wife called I got the shipping label for the broken bottle that I had to take out of the garbage for me to ship it to them so I can get another bottle ! That by the way they have available all the time! And I do know like Alma told my wife ! Well he doesn’t want to follow the rules and policy! How about you Alma stop telling people lies and stand up to what I said from the start and listen to what I have to say and investigate before you call me a layer! If you like liquor, then this is your place, especially if youre into Tequila.They have SELECTION.This isnt too far from the Old Town Exit on I-5 and somewhat close to hub of activity at Old Town State Park.Good guys behind the counter and they are always happy to help.A definite plus is the restaurant above on the 2nd floor that caters to Tequila aficionados and seems to have really unique furnishings.

I was very excited to find my favorite tequila online and purchased 2 bottles from Old Town Tequila, paid $28.20 for S&H and anxiously waited for it to arrive so I could start enjoying it. Unfortunately I was never able to enjoy my favorite Tequila! On January 13th I arrive home to encounter a note on my door from UPS; Sorry we missed you… Well try again on the next UPS delivery day. The following day I stayed home from work to sign for the package, but UPS never showed up! I called UPS and ever since they turned their call center to somewhere in Asia, you cant really get an straight answer from them, I was told that the district manager would give me a call the next day, which also never happened, I called a few more times and got the exact same reply every time. So, I decided to cal Old Town Tequila for help, I thought since they use UPS they might be able to help. I called, explained the situation and was told that they would look into it and call me back the next day. They never called back!!! So, I called again and at this time I found out the package was being returned to the sender. I was a bit confused, but was advised that I could just place another order. Three days later I received an email from Old Town Tequila asking me what I wanted to do, at this point I was very upset and decided on a refund. Today I got an email of a partial refund (the S&H was deducted from the total), I didnt think this was fair since I tried to take delivery of the package and was unsuccessful. I called Old Town Tequila again and explained that I wanted a full refund since I tried calling them to help me find out information from UPS, but they never called me back. Their customer service is the worst I have experienced the person who answered the phone was not willing to help at all or sympathize she asked me to go back online and read their policy, or call UPS (call UPS again? No Thank You!). Old Town Tequila should be able to understand that I did try to take delivery of the package and that I stayed home for a whole day without pay to take delivery of the package on the next following day as stated on the UPS note or at least help me file a claim from UPS, after all they are the ones that hired UPS. I would never purchase from this store again and I truly do not recommend anyone to do so. Customer service is everything!!!

Their deli is a great place to grab a quick, cheap bite. I always get the chicken salad sandwich and couldnt recommend it more. Would recommend calling ahead if youre in a hurry, but it doesnt take too long for food to be ready.Prices on alcohol seem fair but I havent purchased any here. Usually pretty quick in/out the door.

I would really like to give it 5 stars, but the place was in such disarray I had to peer around stacks of alcohol placed in front of the shelves. Maybe I went at a bad time? Buyer beware, if you plan to have an item shipped to your home. My orderof two expensive bottles of Grand Love Tequila was never delivered, and after reaching out to them 3 times, they finally answered.... that they would do nothing to replace it. Now, im reading the various 1 star reviews and it seems that this is their standard way of way of doing business. Yes, the price may be good, and they may have a great stock of tequila, but Im sure there are other more reputable companies that would love your business, and that would take care of you if something goes wrong. Searching elsewhere from now on.

Stop the presses this is the place you have to go to if you want to find any type of liquor! I never knew there was that many types of tequila or vodka manufacturers. I could not count how many different types of manufacturers they have of high end liquor. You will find liquor nobody else has in town. Plus they have beer and champagne cold for you. Go when you have some time to kill you will not be disappointed!

After receiving a $90 bottle of tequila, I noticed that the bottle was opened and it was missing 1/3 of its content. I called and they requested pictures over email, which I sent, only to receive an email stating that the missing contents were due to leakage and that this bottle comes open from the manufacturer refusing to do anything about it. As a liquor connoisseur, I expected better customer service. Buyer beware!!! If you buy a bottle from this place/website, you may only get a partially filled bottle and they wont do anything about it. Stay away.

Came to San Diego to visit my brother and he knows Im big into mezcal and took me to old town liquor where I could find almost every mezcal like I was in Oaxaca, Mexico . Definitely will be going back once Im back in San Diego.
