This is a really cool place; they have lots of collectible coins as well as nice jewelry. I went in to sell a random assortment of old coins, and despite there being nothing of high value, they were kind and professional and gave me a fair price. It was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy or sell coins in the area.

This place is clean, well arranged, and offers a wide selection of coins with a small gallery of fine jewelry. The reason why I gave two stars is because some 4 months ago, I came in with my dear (disabled)neighbor to sell her coins and we both felt that we were not treated well. At first, we were greeted by a security guard and also they are super strict with Covid 19 rules which was great, but once my neighbor laid the box of coins onto the desk; the appraiser basically dug right in and wanted to give us a ridiculously low offer for the lot of silver coins that she had; I understand that a company has to make a profit and this is how a business operates, but I really did not appreciate the way it was all handled. My neighbor is around 80 years old, German lady, hard of hearing, and with multiple medical issues; it is difficult for her to understand things instantaneously without a proper orientation. I basically had to plead with the owner and appraiser to accommodate her because at one point, the appraiser tried to turn my neighbor away when she was just seeking an explanation on pricing and itemized appraisals; they were told us about their vast experience with coins and how they don’t need look in-depth to determine the value ( I thought that was arrogant and dismissive). All in all, I thought that the experience made us feel like we were at their mercy, but I am just glad they changed their minds and decided to help her, so she could pay her medical bills.

Awesome people, Real Americans. I love history. Great customer service and the best thing is that they are honest. Love it, thank you. I will come back.

I called around to the few shops around and most did not want to give me too much time on the phone to explain what they buy or listen to me. But I emailed this company, they quickly called me and I came in 15 minutes later with box of random coins that my dad had collected/horded over the years. Luis was extremely friendly and informative during the entire 45 minutes he was looking through the stuff. I was very pleasantly surprised to be able to have a good conversation while he was still focused on going through all the different kinds of coins. Overall, the prices seemed very fair and we agreed on a price right there. I got paid cash and went on my way. The place was clean, everyone was friendly, and I am happy I brought my coins here.

This is a great addition to the Marina Cow Hollow neighborhood. This is a place to learn, thrive and meet other collectors interested in numismatics and coins. They have a vast selection of coins and other currency and collectable bullion. In addition I was intrigued by the bast selection of jewelry and vintage watches. I had a collection of coins left to me by my grandfather and they gave me advice and motivation to continue the collection. The staff and the overall experience was great and very pleasant.

These guys are very cool and nice and they know what they are talking about and they shed history with the coins, im not lying when i say this but I feel like a kid in a candy store when Im in there

Sean is extremely helpful. I am a novice in this space and he took the time to explain things to me, with great patience and thoughtfulness. Often people who are specialists or experts in a particular space have little time or willingness to help those who are not as informed. Sean is the exact opposite! He is focused on the providing information but also is very discrete and careful, so you are in safe hands.

Didn’t feel welcome. Was from out of town. They got a lot of taxes on coins too. Place was real busy though. Prices were a bit higher than I’m used to.

Was definitely worth the visit. Only thing that made me give 4 stars vs 5 stars was that staff while friendly, wasn’t as helpful in answering specific questions as some of the other reviews lead me to believe.But again, definitely worth visit and would come again. Small store but very well organized.

I came to Witter Coins to sell some old gold coins I had and was offered the best prices of all the shops I went to. Luis and Sean were very helpful and examined each coin closely. I really liked the safe upstairs location of the shop.I will be back with my silver coins for sure!

This is a very special place. It is a small space and the items are obviously valuable, so the staff needs to be sure folks are there for the right reason. True collectors will find the staff helpful and pleasant without being intrusive. Those who are scam artists or bargain hunters may be a bit put off.

Very friendly staff at a great location. They have a good combination of silver bullion coins and bars as well as a larger selection of rare coins. Prices are fair although current California law requires sales tax on items totaling under $1500. Would recommend to collectors and investors alike.

Brought my grandsons in because the eldest is interested in collecting. Everyone was very nice. The owner was great; he talked about the history of coins with my grandsons and gave them a bunch of coins and a book. Thank you very much, you made their day!!

During my visit to SF, I came to Witter Coins to buy a gift for a friend. They had a ton of options and were very helpful in picking out a coin in my budget. I really enjoyed the experience and my friend loved the gift.

Very nice place plenty of interesting coins. Easy to find just close to Montgomery BART station in Market Street. I found what I was searching for and the staff was very kind.
