Large and wonderful selection of used books. The personable and knowledgeable bookseller quickly directed me to the section I was looking for. The pricing of the collection was generous and the range of subjects and genres was impressive. And Polk Street is a great, off-the-beaten path area to explore.

They have a wide selection of books on the Bay Area, as well as fiction, art and photography. And not just current, mass market books, but volumes from different decades. You can see in many of the older books how well they were designed and printed.

My wife likes books and it was the week of Valentines Day, so I stopped in to take a look. A good collection of new and old and specialty books. I dont think Ive ever been in a non mega store bookstore, so I dont have anything to compare this place to. I did enjoy my time there and I walled out with a nice little gift.

This is one of my favorite bookshops in SF. The parking is easy, they always have something used that I really want. They offer unique gifts and I like to get a boba across the street after. My only criticism is that the Islamic section is quite weak. Like most bookstores, they dont offer much more than the Quran, some Sufi books, questionable socio-political apology (yes I mean apology not apologetics) books and very rarely a fiqh book. But to be fair, this is pretty typical of most bookstores.

Oh the stationary! I love going to Russian Hill Bookstore for unique and beautiful greeting cards. I spend hours looking at all of the options and many are handmade. The store is well organized, cozy and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Theyve got great San Francisco specific cards and amazing candles and gifts. Oh and of course there are the books! They have board games and other fun items that make this my go to place on Polk to browse.

Love stopping in here! Lots of fun little knick knacks, cards, board games. Its my go-to shop for small gifts for friends. Theyre fair though so cant complain too much.

Super cool place to walk around after a long day. I love browsing some of the older books they have. Their selection is a solid mix of old and new, all quality stuff (avoiding pulpy NYT Bestsellers that really shouldnt be on the list). Great selection of board games, and a little section in the back with a bunch of old photographs you can flip through (or buy, I guess). Some of the prices are strangely high for the older books, but as an institution I appreciate their existence so Im happy to pay at the prices they post.

The man working there was very friendly and knowledgeable, the books were somewhat haphazardly oragnized (hence the 4 stars) but were separated into genres and the ambience overall was very aesthetically pleasing. I found a book by Ridy Rucker (a small gem in itself) but jot Wyndham. Prices vary, I thought $10 for an annotated book in a fair condition was a but pricey, but hey. Definitely reccomend, something here for everyone.
