If you are looking for a nostalgic sweet shop, look no further than Miette in Hayes Valley. This shop has glass candy jars full of sour, hard and chewy candies. Then there are the baked goods (cookies, cupcakes, bread loafs and macarons)!The pastel decor complements all the goodies so you want to buy more! So have a get together of loved ones and share. Otherwise all this sugar will send you on a high; but it won’t be as good as looking at the sweet faces of your beloved ones when you bring them these treats.

Their cakes and macarons are delicious, but their customer service is disappointing and I felt like their didn’t care for my business at all. Have been buying their cakes for our birthdays for the last few years. Never ordered online, but tried this time. Minimum order is 48 hours ahead, but the online system required 72 hours (order placed on Wednesday would only be ready Saturday). So I called the shop to see if it can be sorted - since they needed 48 hours and I needed the cake on Friday night and this was Wednesday afternoon. Would be a bit more than 48 hours so seemed logical. Nope, shop assistant wasn’t sure they could do it, told me she would call her manager to get OK and call me back. Waited for a while for callback and gave up and called again myself. No update, and promised she’d call me back as soon as she heard. Never received a callback. I sent my husband to a different bakery but honestly, feel disappointed. We take our kids to Hayes Valley all the time. Will stick to ice cream instead of sweets in the future.

I love this store. My favorites are the homemade caramel. They also have seasonal candies which make great gifts. Excited to learn that they have a store I. The Ferry Building and Jack London Square.

I love an excuse to get Miette. Such pretty and delicious pastries, and I was excited to stop by their pick and mix also. I asked the nice person at the counter to give me a selection of 6 cupcakes for a small party with some friends, and everyone was super happy with theirs.

Look at the picture....what kind of heart is this?Not only that, when we asked for the price, one person from their email it was $25. Then, when we went to the cashier, they said it was $35. What?

Their macaroons and chocolate pie with sea salt are to die for, their sponge cakes (with different creams) were pretty mediocre.

Chloe was super helpful! The store was busy when I came in and there was such a long line, but she handled it so well! I was surprised that there was no other worker besides her. But anyways, the customer service was great and she gave me a ton of recommendations and all of them tasted amazing (especially the macaroons)! Definitely will be coming back!

An EXPENSIVE candy shop. Bakery seems like a reach. Their macaroons are average, frankly I think the ones I used to get a La Boulange were better.It’s very Hayes Valley! Go here after spending an easy 200 on dinner and 30 for ice cream across the way at Smitten. You fit right in! Congrats!!

Great place for Macaroons and strawberry short bread. You cannot stop eating. I got a packet of shortbread as a gift, and I could not resist finishing it at one stretch., I ordered a box of macaroons as a birthday gift to a relative. She is very disciplined, but all of it melted away once she tasted, and almost finished the entire box at a stretch. So, order in small quantity, unless you are ready for a hard and long work out burning calories. If you want to indulge occasionally or to celebrate, this is indeed the place to orde., But their website is awful and not user friendly. But for Nancy Kajiyama at the online help desk, I could never have completed the order. Hope they shift to a more user friendly website, saving time and money.

We liked macaroons so much. Those were not too sweet and the flavor was really good. I like to give it 4.5 instead if full 5! But it is not possible. So I prefer to get it full 5. I didn’t like the chocolate cake so much it was ok.

The candy shoppe for adults. This place really makes you feel like its OK to be grabbing bags of delicious treats without having to revert to being 8 again. Perfect place to grab delights for parties or small gifts. The cakes and cupcakes look too perfect to eat and although Ive never had one you know that just by looking at them they have to be tasty.Service here could be a bit friendlier but they seem to know what theyre doing and the store is always ridiculously clean.

My sister had a B-day and I wanted to make a surprise for her. I didnt want to buy a cake. My friend advised me this place. I was really surprised. They made my day. They created a really cute and sweet gift for her. She was so happy !!! Also they have a big selection of cookies. Every time they are so fresh and tasty. Highly recommended !!!!

Cutest candy store! Purchased a small bagcandy pieces that we got to choose from a large selection. A bit pricey but each candy has been hand picked especially to be sold at their store. I believe they are all or mostly gluten free as well. Cute green and pink table and chairs outside. There’s also a really cute pink wall outside and perfect for photos!

While this isnt the most famous bakery in San Francisco, to out of towners anyways, this is an outstanding bakery. Everything is lighter, crispier, and flakier than what should be possible l. Even the humble scone that I bought shared all of these qualities. The more popular pastries that my friends bought were almost mind blowing. I will go back next time Im in CA.

Licorice lovers, this is your spot! Jars full of licorice line the back wall. Taste a few and then create your own bag! If youre not a fan of licorice, there is a very extensive selection of amazing sweets. All packaged beautifully. Many imported from Europe. Enjoy a weekend treat or two.

It is my dream store. Some candies and desserts were not easy to find at a market. But here, they carried. If you miss or remember childhood dessert, or looking for some gifts to your children or grand children, this is a good store. This store remind my childhood.

If you want good cupcakes, this is the place. Gingerbread cupcake is second to none. sweet enough to perfection and the right zesty fulfilling icing to make you mouth water to the last bite. I have yet to try their other desserts, but the cupcake will tell me all of what else they have to offer. A little more expensive cupcake than others, but definitely worth the try.

Very good, but also very pricey. I suppose thats to be expected for the Ferry building, but its also something to keep in mind. I would recommend getting a baked good, like a macaron or a cupcake. The cupcakes with the Italian meringue were divine, and I can also vouche for the chocolate orange macrons and the pistachio macarons. My husband and sister tried to rose macaons and liked them too, so theyre good if you like rose-flavored things. The candy seems highly overpriced. Its still worth going to get a sweet treat!

I really enjoy their cookies and cupcakes. Nearly always pick up a sugary festival of glory when visiting the Ferry Building. This was my first visit to this location. The cupcake looked the same but was not as moist or fresh as the ones Ive had at other spot. The free sample peanut butter cookie, however, was excellent. The good, but not great, cupcake experience was probably idiosyncratic and I look forward to giving them another chance.The location in Hayes Valley is fun as there are a large number of cafes and restaurants in the area. The homeless people passed out on benches just outside are, however, less enthralling.

My friend got a dome chocolate cake for me for my birthday and I had to go back and get another one a week after because it was soooo good!! The place is really cute. I havent tried their other dessert yet.

With a decor that evokes every little girls dream house, it serves up beautiful and tasty confectionaries such as macarons and hand spun candies. Giving a Miette gift box is truly a special event, and orders ship quickly from both the shop and the website.

Miette saved my Xmas eve when our celebrations moved to Xmas eve eve, and my usual place for buche de noel only made them for pickup on the 24th. Miettes buche was tasty and very pretty, excellent decorations. However we were quite disappointed in the macarons we also purchased. We got all the flavors and liked none of them. Rose was the only one with any flavor that really stood out and it was actually almost a little too rose-y.

Happened to pop in here while walking past with some friends because one of them wanted macarons. The place is very pretty and aesthetic on the inside, and anyone with a sweet tooth would go crazy in here. We ended up getting the Dulce de Leche and Chocolate Macarons. The former was pretty nice, but a little too gooey for me, guess Im not that big a macaron fan. I didnt try it, but apparently the chocolate one was really bad, and my friend even ended up throwing it out after having a bite out of it.

The amount of candy is amazing. They have candy from all over the world and have licorice, gummies, Carmel, you name it.

This is absolutely the best cake shop in town. When someone at work has a birthday, miette is our first choice for cupcakes. Luckily, its fairly close to us in the Ferry Building. I personally love the old-fashioned cupcake, for how attractive it is and how delicious. But, you really cant go wrong. Everything they make looks and tastes like a dream. The cakes are just the right lightness, and the frosting just the right sweetness. And the store is so cute, very tastefully arranged and decorated. When I want to bring a nice dessert to a friends, I definitely hit up miette. And a box of their macarons also makes an excellent housewarming gift!
