I rarely write reviews here unless my experience was very remarkable, usually being upsetting or incredibly good. Im pleased to say my first experience with iPhone Repair SF totally surpassed my expectations and blew my mind. For most of my needs I already have a go-to person who I can trust, whether its a plumber, a dry cleaning place or a locksmith, someone who Ive worked with before and I who know to be consistently reliable and honest. But how do you find a good iPhone repair person? I heard about Ed by word of mouth, and Im happy to say that now Im the one spreading the word.First impression: I brought in an iPhone 7 Plus to fix a cracked screen and get a new battery. Basic stuff. I got the phone back an hour later and he had done a nice job... the phone looked and worked better, and even had a shiny screen protector that I didnt ask for. Nice touch!Second impression: As I used the phone for a few days, I started noticing at times the screen was registering false touches, and this made the phone sometimes hard to use. I called Ed back, and he said the screen might be defective and hed be happy to replace it free of charge. Wonderful!Third impression: I brought the phone in for the screen swap. An hour later, Ed called and said there had been a problem. While disassembling the phone, he accidentally damaged a delicate cable, rendering the home button useless and irreparable. He took responsibility for it, and offered to solve the problem by replacing my phone with an equivalent, or refunding me the value of my phone.Seriously? Yes! Ed offered to go the extra mile to do what it takes to make things right. I was super impressed and very pleased. What a great way to delight the customer in an unfortunate situation. I decided to replace the phone, and Ed helped me order it from a reputable supplier of used phones. This is sort of tricky business, but Ed knows this used phone business. He found an ideal replacement for me and ordered it.Final impression: The phone arrived to his shop a few days later and I came to pick it up. He had checked it out, confirmed the battery was good (he offered to also replace the battery if it was weak, but the previous owner had apparently done that already). He showed me everything was working, and he cleaned the phone so it looked like new. Ed had kept his word. I left with a replacement phone and the original broken one, which could still be used as a backup phone.Would I do business again with Ed? Yes!Would I recommend Ed? Yes!If you do business with Ed and anything isnt to your liking, remember one thing... Do give Ed the chance to make it right, because he will.
Over the pbone I was quoted $80 to have my iphone 7 screen fixed. So I drive over and after speaking with the man face to face he tells me it will be $100 😡😡so i politely remind him of the telephone conversation we previously had, he tells me that he remembers exactly what he said & blah blah blah I remain calm and hand over my phone as i am in desperate need to have my phone fixed. Yet I am a firm believer in reviews so take this as a warning DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! RUDE AND EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
Ed is super fast and does good work. He took the time to explain how the repair process works and what to expect from my replacement screen and battery. It turned out that my replacement battery (for an old iPhone SE) was faulty, so he swapped it out again for no extra charge. Can happily recommend.
My experience with Ed Varga, owner of iPhoneRepairSF was great. I call around 2 PM Friday 10/9/2020. I mentioned to Ed, that I crack my iPhone 7 Plus screen and ask if I can bring in for repair. Ed said repair is done by appointment only. He squeezed me in on same day at 5 PM. When to his business location. Ed look at the phone, did a complete check on my phone. He discovered back camera has a crack and also recommend to replace the battery. He faces me the cost estimate. I left my phone with Ed for minutes. I came back and it is done. It is like new again. I am very happy with the services. I would definitely recommend any of my friend to go to his store to get iPhone and iPad repair. Thank you Ed for the wonderful work.
Absolutely amazing service. I can’t write a review to express how grateful I am for the excellent screen repair and professionalism displayed by iPhone Repair SF. I had a maximum wait of 20-minutes. You can’t go wrong here.
Ive been to these guys a couple of times for my iPhone disasters. They are really fast and reasonably priced. Way easier than dealing with Apple. They know their sh*t too. They are the real geniuses. Theyve given me a ton of great/free advice and information. They are very transparent about pricing and the quality of parts available. They have an easy to use website that lists all their prices and you can schedule an appointment there as well.
Ed is a magician! He fixed the cracked screen and battery in y iPhone 7S and now it’s like new. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. And, be aware - it takes a magician to find his place. Look for the black gate to the right of the bodega - address is 3016-12 16th just west of Mission
Great service! I thought I cracked my iPhone screen but it turns out that only my glass protector for the glass screen was cracked! Saved me hundreds of dollars! I purchased another glass screen protector and a case he recommended; a (not some cheap under researched and under developed) case where the lip at the edge of the iPhone is more protected that can withstand more of an impact. Highly recommend parking in the lot across the street for $3/hr if you could afford it.
Really helpful staff. Went in with my broken iPhone 7+ screen and was given 2 options. I went with the most economical which is 75$ and the results are great, no complaints. My phone works perfectly fine and come with warranty in case of any mishap. They even threw in a free glass protector. I am sure to recommend this place to anyone.
Fast, the right price and easy to book online. also given my job and the info on the phone b/c of it, they guy was willing to work around me having to give him the password to my phone.very professional. I would highly recommend. the shop is up some stairs and small but all you need to get your phone back in shape.
Very quick service! He seemed super busy that night I urgently took my husbands phone for repair, but he still got it done within an hour. He seems like a very hard working man. paid$100 for iPhone 6s Plus screen repair
Power connector problem. They were fast, easy to schedule, convenient to get to, pleasant to work with. I was really impressed with how much care they took to test and be sure the fix really worked, unlike some other experiences Ive had.
This establishment is unprofessional at best. They do not value your time. They provide poor customer service. And, after you call them out on it via a review online of your experience,The owner will then try to disprove the whole entire experience & try to make it sound like he/his establishment did nothing wrong.I know because I am a person who had experienced this establishment first hand.It was far from seamless.Just for yourself, take a gander at the reviews. You’ll find that any bad reviews have a reply from owner trying to justify the poor reviews.Luckily for me,I then found a different phone repair service that more than made up for this ones condescending service. There’s many phone repair options out there!Don’t settle!
These guys are responsive and knowledgeable. I have used iPhone Repair SF numerous of times highly recommend them.
These guys are super amazing!! He fixed my phone really fast and at great price! Would 100% recommend!! A++++
These guys were super nice and they gave me an extra discount when they heard I couldnt afford the full LCD repair (compared to the cheaper glass repair on my iPhone). Customer service here is ideal, their office wasnt the easiest to find but its very quiet indoors and they dont mind you waiting there for your phone while its being fixed. Ill be recommending these guys to my friends!
This place is a scam!!! When I dropped my phone off here they gave me a quote for $89 for screen repair and tried to charge me $175 an hour later when I tried to pick it up. Basically holding my phone hostage, also asked for my passcode before fixing it so they have all my information unless I pay up. Ended up having to pay basically the same price as apple store. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
Squeezed me in despite being overwhelmed by last minute repair requests.Great work, fair prices, absolutely top rate.
My phone battery was draining at a ridiculous rate so I found this place to get my battery replaced. The dude was transparent about my battery problem and informed me of all the potential reasons why I was experiencing this issue and was honest. He didn’t push me to get anything done and now my battery problems are fixed!
This place went above and beyond to make sure my heavily damaged phone was fixed. They were really communicative and tested multiple options to finally fix my iPhone 7 Plus. Great place, I would trust them with any future repair.
I’ve embarrassingly needed this place numerous times in the past year and they always deliver. Easy online booking, reliably timely repairs, and great service from the staff. I’ve recommended and brought others here and will be sure to return when my clumsiness strikes again.
Needed to have my phone repaired fast used Chrome to find places nearby. iPhone Repair SF popped with some others- but had awful reviews. I read the owners response and decide to give them a shot. They were very accommodating and professional- from the time I called to a fixed phone was less than an hour. Cant speak for others but had a great experience.
Went in to change the battery out of my iphone since the battery would die in less than 5 min. He was very fast and it only took about 15 min. Hre did the process in front of me and i even got a 5 dollar discount from him on yelp. Very nice and fast guy.
Simple process to schedule an appointment, had my phone back in under 30min (had a crushed screen from an unfortunate incident with a bus). Very professional, would recommend
Very fast (I was in and out in half an hour) same day service. Went in for a cracked screen/lcd repair, no issues with their fix as of now! Charging port works as usual. Website is good and clearly states their prices. The building looks a little sketchy (I also went when it was dark and Im sure that that didnt help) but the service is worth it. They also let me bring my bike in so it wasnt sitting outside.
Just got my iPhone 7 repaired in 30 min with them . Great work! I highly recommend this place to someone who needs to fix their phone quickly, and its very affordable able
Very hard to find, look for the small sign atop a metal screen door next to the supermarket. Other than that I had called to set up an appointment and they had my phone ready within 30 minutes! Fantastic place !
After trying to get my iphone repaired at a highly rated place in SOMA at almost twice the price, I came here. Boy am I glad I did. 35 minutes, totally professional, very clear disclosure of the warranty etc. Dont waste money elsewhere.
I came in to fix my shattered phone screen. My phone screen looks brand new like it never had any damages. They were done in 20 minutes . I would definitely come here again and recommend it.
This guy “ED” is not a quality repairman. He looks the part and talks the part but his work is terrible. He charged me $100 for the OEM glass replacement on my iphone 7 and he put some shoddy, low quality glass in instead. Also, on the left side of the screen it started come apart from the frame and have a clicking in and out. This caused the shoddy glass he used to develop 2 small cracks in the corners because of the screen bending because it was not properly glued down. He even admitted to me on the phone that he didnt use adhesive. He tried to telm me it happened because i dropped the phone- what a con man. Avoid this guy at all costs, you will regret it.UPDATE: Ed, in responding to my review you blatantly told 2 lies. You did not ask me if my phone was just sitting on the table and spontaneously broke, so saying that I avoided responding is a total lie. You did say that screens do not just spontaneously break. Well duh. I never said it just it spontaneously broke. But, what i found out when i took it to a more reputable shop was that because of your shoddy repair, the screen was not properly secured with ADHESIVE, just like i asked you about. So, because of this the screen came apart from the frame, and through normal use, like being in my pocket, it cracked because the glass couldn’t withdstand normal pressure. You can go online and look up any iphone 7 repair video and see that adhesive is always used to secure the glass assembly to the frame. The new screen should come with a new adhesive gasket that is to be applied after removing the old adesive. This is why you have to sometimes “warm up” the screen before removing it. Lie #2- while there were problems my phone had that we did discuss, the frame being bent was not one of them. The new shop i took it too had no issues with installing the new glass and never indicated that the frame was bent. this is because the frame is not bent. I am willing to offer my phone up for inspection to anyone who wants to verify this. One thing you got right, i did log on and write a scathing review because i am upset. You took my $100, did a subpar repair job, and when i voiced my concerns, you resorted to treating me like im an idiot. It made me even more upset when i took my phone to another shop and they confirmed my suspicions that you did a shoddy job. So, you’re darn right, you need to be held accountable by someone, and who better than someone you ripped off.
IPhone Repair SF is a company that, according to the lead tech on site at The Apple Store, repairs phones with 3rd party charging ports.I was told incorrectly by a tech that works at iPhone Repair SF that they use the same charging ports that Apple uses. The Apple Store told me this is a flat out lie.My iPhone 5s was ruined by Ed and by taking it there, the warranty is now void. The Apple Store would not work on my phone because Ed worked on it.I confirmed that the phone no longer charges with any cables at the Verizon Store and had the manager on site call iPhone Repair SF to verify. I also confirmed that my phone no longer charges with any factory cables at The Apple Store. The Apple Store provided me with documentation stating my phone doesnt charge anymore and that the warranty is now void (see attachment). Before you take your phone to be repaired here, understand that your warranty will be voided on your phone PERMANENTLY and that Apple and Verizon will no longer service your phone!Even if your phone is fixed correctly, a voided warranty isnt worth it.I wish I knew this before I went to iPhone Repair SF!Ed berated me, told me to stop coming into his shop and wasting his time and told me that I was raising his blood pressure. He told me that he has fixed over 10,000 phones and that the problem was me... there was no chance in his mind that the problem was on his end.His insistence that the problem was me was really upsetting. His technicians apologized profusely and told me on several occasions that he was going through a lot right now, in therapy for it and taking it out on me. They seemed embarrassed for him.Let it go, Ed!I wasnt wasting your time! You were wasting mine!
Really dishonest business, will brick your phone trying to fix the screen and still demand you pay for the bricked phone. I came back a second time to try to fix it (after writing a bad review on yelp) and the owner accused me of blackmailing him and wouldnt fix it for me. super unprofessional and condescending
At first I was hesitant by the store front but these guys are legit. Super professional, super fast, and I havent been able to find a better price.
The staff are friendly. But Im convinced this is an iPhone chop shop. Every time I bring my phone in theres a new problem when I leave. The parts they use to repair the phones are sub-par. Both screen I had replaced with iPhone Repair SF yellowed after a month. My charging port was damaged during the last repair. Thankfully they were able to fix their mistake for only $64.00 >_> I was also charged $48 more than I was quoted on their website. I do not recommend using their services until they can prove their parts are of apple quality. But the staff, they are friendly. So If you just want someone to talk to and not have your phone fixed...
Super fast and great quality screen repair!
Replace phone screen here very bad!! need go to different repair store replace screen again. I hate waste money!!
Super fast, easy to book and well priced!
Its so rare nowadays to have such a horrendous experience with a business with such flawless ratings online but yesterday/this morning it happened. Cracked my phone screen Tuesday afternoon and immediately started looking at options to have it fixed, I ended up here because of the great reviews online and will never trust Yelp reviews again. Was quoted $100 to have my screen fixed and walked out paying $140. When I was given my phone back I was told to look at the screen and make sure it looked okay... of course in the middle of the repair shop at 6pm on a Tuesday in a hurry to get home and cook dinner for my family... it looked fine. It wasnt until I got home that I noticed the screen wasnt nearly as bright as the the OEM screen and the replacement also had a very green tint to it. While further inspecting the screen throughout the night my phone froze on me 4 separate times, I had to hard reset it each time. I called back first thing in the morning in a optimistic mood and just said look guys... clearly this doesnt happen often but Im not happy with the service and just want a refund. The guy who answered at 9am Wednesday literally burst out LAUGHING at me on the phone and asked why I didnt inspect the screen before I paid, then told me tough luck no refunds OR EXCHANGES. It really kills me that in the worlds most expensive city, where I pay a ridiculous amount of money to live in somebodys closet, businesses like this are still out there stealing peoples money. I now have an $800 phone with a green tint that wont stop freezing. Will now make for the most expensive paperweight Ive ever owned. Off to buy a new phone. The shop owner Ed has been nothing but condescending and rude about my experience as well. Still no refund or offer to fix my sluggish/unresponsive/tinted screen.
My company has used iPhone Repair SF a few times in the past couple of years. I like their service so much I finally decided to sit down and write a review.Withe my first visit I was told by others that its not that easy to repair a cracked screen on my model of iphone. I called and spoke with Ed. He answered my questions and assured me that the crack in my screen could be repaired (I really needed to keep my original phone because my photos and contacts were not backed up). He had it fixed within one hour and that was a big relief for me!When me or one of my crew members brings a damaged phone in I always get my phone in a timely manner as promised. Speed of return and a quality repair is what iPhone SF promises and its what they deliver!
I scheduled an appointment, and their service was prompt and courteous. I would definitely go there again.IphoneRepair was able to extend the life of my old iphone4S by replacing the battery (batt was draining super-quickly). This saved me a lot of money vs buying new phone.
When your iPhone’s cracked screen has deteriorated to the point that you’ve got a million little paper cut-like cuts on your fingertips, iPhone Repair SF’s seems like a great deal to replace your LED and screen. That is until you get there and have agreed to the price and service and you’re about to hand over your external, central nervous system to a friendly tech, who breezily tells you they don’t use Apple branded parts. You hesitate as you process that 411 and he goes on to say that your viewing will be slightly diminished by the after market LED and you prob won’t notice it at all unless you’re a graphics or design person. I guess they just assume not too many folks are in that field because he’s still got one hand on your device while you’re pulling it in the other direction because, you’re a design person. Sorry Charlie, great prices but I gotta have the original parts or no dice. Thanks anyway. I’m sure their services are quite capable otherwise. It’s a little confusing finding their exact location in the building they’re in. Across the street from Pancho Villa on 16th and Mission. Served by muni lines 14, 22, 33, 49 and BART 16th and Mission station.
Professiona, Kind and reasonable price
Repair was quick but parts may not need very good
Looks funky when you get in but good guys
