No-frills sandwich shop with fast and friendly service and fair prices.I had a “Beat LA” (oh yeah Beat LA!) in a sourdough roll, which has turkey, roast beef and cheddar cheese (plus all the common ingredients). The sandwich has a good portion, I wouldn’t call it huge but it was tightly stuffed with lots of meat and veggies, and I definitely felt its weight in my hand. There isn’t a lot of sauce though, so taste wise it’s a bit dry and on the bland side. I even felt like the sourdough was the most tasty part.

This is warrior sandwich good sandwich just for 10 it is small in my opinion. But prices are higher in Parnassus compare to downtown

Made my own sub on a wheat roll with roast beef and havarti. All the toppings w/ garlicky mayo and jalapeños. Holy sh*t dude… tasty and fresh!! HUGE sub, happy customer. Thanks for my delicious lunch!!! I will be back.

Ordered the Giants sandwich, basically a Turkey BLTA on sourdough roll.Pros:- It was a decent size, good for two not very hungry people or one hungry person.- price is good considering many places in the area cost $15+ for something similar- generous with the avocado, it kept falling out while I was trying to eat it- bacon was the best part of this sandwich, adding both crunch and flavor. I’ll stick to my usual Italian sandwiches next time- I ordered at 11am on a Saturday and it was quick, ready in 6minsCons:-This was my first time ordering from here (I did it on DoorDash and picked up), and it said on the website that all sandwiches include pickles and pepperoncini, but there were literally TWO slices of pickle and maybe six pepperoncini rings for my pretty large sandwich (see photo), pretty sad. Good learning, if you actually want to taste them pickles or pepperoncini request extra- The bread was fine but a little chewy, not super tangy sourdough. I’ll try the Dutch crunch next timeOverall: pretty standard sandwich, good value for the area

This place is a little off the typical tourist beaten path, so it’s mostly locals. It’s a tiny place without much space inside. The service was spot on and wait time was as predicted. They got every sandwich right, no errors. Delicious!

OMG such huge sandwiches, you can’t eat it by one bite! It’s not only huge, but very juicy and tasty.

Erving Subs make some of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. Wait times are long but worth the wait. I love the rolls they use too. My only gripe is they need to put a little more meat on the sandwiches and less lettuce.

I really like their sandwiches however when we ordered this time I asked for no onions and not toasted. They did not follow instructions and my sandwich had onions and was crunchy making it really hard to eat. Really disappointing

The godfather is dope. Coppa on a sandwich is The Business.The Dutch crunch is a little too crunchy, but worth it for that tiny bit of finishing sweetness. I got mine toasted because I am good at ordering food.

Ordered the Giant... With every intention of eating half. I couldnt stop myself from eating the whole thing! Garlic mayo... Spicy mustard...tangy peppers.... Lots of meat and avocado all on Dutch crunch. The staff was nice, friendly, and quick. Perfect for grabbing a little picnic on your way home or on the way to the park.

Their Italian subs are the best around (hot or cold) with a great selection of breads. The grilled chicken is a little bland though. Usually at least a 10 minute wait so call ahead. Limited counter seating, too so more of a take-out spot.

I absolutely love this sandwich shop. I tried it for my first time today and I will be a regular customer here now. Im a huge sandwich fanatic. I eat them at least 3-4 times per week and from different places usually. Although, these sandwiches are so good it might be the only place I need now! You can tell they always use the freshest ingredients. It feels like my tomatoes were perfect and cut fresh just before getting the sandwich. Their bread is incredible too, which is the most important part in my opinion.They have great flavors for everyone with different styles for different tastes. I got the hot turkey sandwich with the ghost pepper jelly. Their standard toppings are amazing and each sandwich has its own flare of flavor profiles.Im definitely going to be making more stops here from now on.

The goodfellas is a 10/10 sub. I think the bread is really what sets this place apart but everything else about it is delicious.

I came here for the first time (Never knew it existed since i move to San Francscio) and its one of the best sandwiches that I ever had. The bread is very fresh almost as if it was freshly made and the toppings are great!!!

I’d give the sandwich a 4, but I debated knocking off another for the 1 hour I had to wait for my sandwich. I almost cancelled after they said it would be a 40 min wait, and once I got there they were so busy it took another 20 min.Pros: they are clearly still very busy which is great when times are tough right now for so many restaurants. I also wanted to add chips to my order once my sando was ready and the gal threw in 2 bags for free to apologize for the delay.Con: 1 hour wait time for a sando is crazy. And if it’s the case, provide an accurate estimate. When ordering online it said 20 min, then I got a confirmation for 40 min, then it took 60 minutes before my sandwich was even ready. Yikes.I personally way prefer Yellow Submarine a few blocks down (for taste and portion) but we didn’t have cash on hand.

My favorite sandwich spot on Irving Street 😃 My default sandwich here is the turkey cranberry on dutch crunch bread. IT IS SO GOOD AND SIMPLE.

During the quarantine weve been getting sandwiches at least once a week to go. The staff is always friendly, and they are working hard to keep their customers safe! Delicious sandwiches every time. I highly recommend Almas Hot and Spicy.

My boyfriend and I had just flown in from NYC. We landed around lunchtime and we were starving. Found this spot after quickly googling and we were so glad we found this place.We both got the Giant and were beyond satisfied. The sandwiches are HUGE and for just under $10, it felt like a steal (esp. compared to NYC). We have added this place to our list of must visit on our future trips to SF.Note: it did take a little longer than expected to actually have the sandwiches made, but it was worth it.

Dont bother ordering delivery. I missed the delivery drivers call, who apparently cant read numbers on buildings. After two minutes the man just went ahead and left. No consideration for wasting food or peoples time. Ill never order there again.

Irving subs was my go to sandwich spot in sunset. It can get packed but dont worry, grab a Post-It and sharpie and add to the wall of messages past customers leave behind.If youre having trouble picking you cant go wrong with the warriors sub with everything on Dutch crunch bread and toasted. Also get it with some zapps chips. If you live in the sunset make sure to do the digital punch card.

Mega egg special. Love egg but this sandwich was mostly bacon, ham, avocado, which I like but, very little egg for a mega egg . Disappointed

The owner, Melinda, was working the counter and so sweet. AWESOME sandwiches, each sandwich was piled high in freshness and taste. I had the turkey, provolone, tomato, guacamole on squaw bread. Will definitely visit this place when Im in need of a quick classic sandwich.

Consistently great sandwich. I especially like the focus on super tasty cheeses which has been a staple at this place back a few different owners when they started out as a cheese shop. I order ahead and walk over to pick up and they are always ready on time. If for some reason you have to wait for the sandwich have a seat on the red bench which we donated from our backyard a couple years ago :)

Just returned from Sandwich Valhalla after experiencing the Warrior on Dutch Crunch. Every bite was packed with flavor, the garlic mayo was a nice touch. Perfect balance of meat peppers etc. Worthy of being a Dubs sandwich!

The place was busy and some wait time is reasonable but I was standing outside for nearly 20 minutes for one sandwich. I ate it a few minutes later and it had already gotten cold and totally soaked through the bottom. The pesto sauce I had was mostly oil and was all over the outside of the sandwich. It tasted alright after getting passed that.

One of the best sandwich places in the area on my opinion, if not the best. You can order from a great variety or create your own sandwich. Their macaroni salad is really good! Used to get it at least once a week but theyve gotten my order wrong more than a couple of times.

There is a good variety of quality sandwiches. The seating is extremely limited, only 4 seats at a bar against the window, so ordering to go is probably your best bet. They have a cute post it note art wall for you to add to while you wait for them to prepare your sandwich too.

I love this place. It takes a while to get me sub, but its so worth the wait.

I had outstanding service and the sandwich was phenomenal. They made it on gluten-free bread and while I was full, I was not stuffed and they had plenty of meat on it. Just a warning, there is not much space to eat in but an excellent sandwich to grab and take down to the beach.

Good subs. I got the Loaded Veggie sub, it had a reasonable amount of avocado and tasty sourdough bread (much better than at Subway). This place is heavily takeaway-oriented, but there are a few stools if you want to sit down.

Incredibly simple seller of cheese, meats, and freshly made sandwiches. Granted I could stand in the cheese aisle of Andronicos and probably find a larger selection, but I would be horribly overwhelmed and in need of assistance. At Cheese Boutique, Brian never fails to suggest something based on my personal preference. I wanted to create a cheese plate to pair with some wines and Brian was patient and let me try numerous samples before settling on a few choices.

The cashier was really rude and unhelpful. And really they are working very slowly.There was a really nasty smell inside the restaurant. Not clean.

They dont have the biggest or most creative menu, but they make a classic sandwich very well. Get the T.A.B.L.T. with everything.

There was no distinct flavor to the sandwich. Just tasted like a plain sanwich with ingredients mixed it. Bread was good though.
