Plenty of savory and sweet vegan items. My absolute favorite are the potato burekas. Customer service is good and the employees that have helped me have always been patient in describing each bakery item. (Side note, You can sign up for emails and also order for pick up at East bay locations).

I had no idea what they make/bake. I wasnt even sure what I ordered but had the mushroom and pesto sandwich, coffee and cinnamon roll. I was not sure what they called their house coffee but ordered it. I have to say the food is amazing. The cinnamon roll was good but the sandwich flavors and coffee was outstanding. I would definitely go here again.

The service was nice and fast, prices are fair and the place was clean. When Im back in San Francisco I will definitely come back.

I subscribe to the podcast Ear Hustle, and the most recent episode featured Frena Bakery. What a beautiful thing the owners have done, and what an amazing story about the beauty of giving second chances. As Rabbi Yosemite Yitzhak once said: It’s never too late. There’s always a second chance.”I hope and pray the Frena Bakery is able to overcome the great challenges that the COVID19 pandemic has placed upon it and so many other businesses. May God reward you for the blessings youve bestowed on so many seeking a second chance at life - mitzvah upon mitzvah. L’Chaim!

Frena! So thankful that they are doing pop-ups around the Bay Area during Covid-times, as I am not trekking downtown at all these days... In particular I enjoy their Chocolate Babka, Pesto Babka, and the savory Burekas. If we could rate half stars I maybe would have put 4.5 ONLY because sometimes the products are inconsistent, BUT I would not want to drop down to 4 stars, so they get 5 stars - all the good stuff makes up for the few times things were not perfect. In general the quality is great, the service is friendly, AND they are Kosher, have vegan options, and have been receptive of feedback when Ive given it.

I ALMOST DIED BECAUSE FRENA IGNORED THE ALLERGY ALERT!My son wanted to purchase only cheese bourekas for Shavuot. The bakery forced him to purchase a mixture of bourekas. He alerted them to my life threatening allergy from onion-scallion-chives-leeks-shallot. They assured him that theres no onion in the mixture they would deliver. There are onions in the mushroom, spinach, pizza and potato bourekas. I smelled them in the mushrooms and pizza ones and avoided eating them. But theres onion powder and very small amount of onions in the spinach bourekas. My face became blue. I finally got a hold of the administrator. She offered to reimburse me. I said that during these coronatimes, when small businesses are folding, we dont wish to detract from their income. Instead I received a $50 gift coupon. We ended up purchasing only pita bread (excellent quality!) and plain cheese bourakas. It seems like these are in high demand, so the store never have a sufficient amount of them on the shelves.
