If you have an old Triumph (I do!) or Ducati, its great. If not, there may be cheaper, better places. I like it, but its clientele is older, experienced riders and serious racers, so maybe less friendly to scooter-riding hipsters.

Ive not had the pleasure of meeting Scott (the owner) or Darren (Parts/service) but Im looking forward to it. For my 50TH birthday my wife and I purchased a new 2020 Ducati Multi-Strada 1260S GT in St. Louis (we live in Sarasota, FL), and had Haulbikes.com shipped it to San Francisco. I had called a local shop but was not comfortable with the feedback I got from them. They were willing to accept the bike but the cost was so out of line, I had to seek another option. I call Desmoto-Sport and got Darren on the line who was super friendly and listened to my request. Once he heard I was doing a trip from San Fran, down the PCH to Palm Springs then to Sarasota Fl, he filled me with all kinds of helpful information. Oh yeah, like a big part of the PCH is closed!! LOLI asked Darren if they would be willing to accept shipment of my bike and he didnt see an issue with it, but wanted to check with Scott first. Scott called me an hour later and told me that would not be a problem at all. At the time of this post my bike is still in transit but set to arrive next week, right in time for the trip!! I wish I could take these guys to Sarasota with me for all my future needs!! I know my bike will land in super capable hands!! Thank you Desmoto and the team there for making my 50th an epic start to this adventure.

Excellent shop, they understand the rider and the racer because they raced themselves, they did the 7500 mile service on my 1198 SP, then I had them change my rear shock, add a flat link and change my triple clamps to offset ones, they set up the suspension perfectly and the bike handled so much better. With the link I had bought the wrong height adjuster, Scott provided a modified one which worked perfectly at a very low price. Also, on the triple clamps, I wish I had asked ahead of time, Scott troubleshooted some fit issues and made it work perfectly too. Very happy with the shop and their work and customer service.

Despite their being located in San Francisco, Desmoto Sport is a motorcycle repair shop that manages to provide pleasant, capable, trustworthy service one might expect from smaller shops not in the middle of a big city. They seem to have a focus on European sport, touring and adventure bikes. On more than one occasion the owner has been very gracious in terms of lending his time, expertise and in one case, loaner parts, asking nothing in return. I wasn’t even a paying customer yet. They’ve earned my business with honest avoidance of unnecessary upsells, and solid repair staff. They sell, mount and balance tires and wheels, service and repair, and I think they even do some fabrication work in house.

While I think they know what they are doing and worked with me on getting a warranty replacement of a brake master cylinder, I had to watch the mechanic pop off my top luggage rack forcefully without turning the key and disengaging the clasp. The fittings that hold the rack of are plastic and the disregard for what that does to them means I wont be bringing my back back here. I was happy with the repair though and consider them a solid shop otherwise.

Excellent service and they were very upfront with me. Only had done what I needed and there was no pressure to get additional services done. They made their suggestions, but also gave a general timeframe and again, no pressure to have anything done. Service was also timely and prompt. I have an older Triunph, so fast service on old bikes like this can be hard to find. I will be returning back here for any serious maintenance and bike issues in the future!

Desmoto recently serviced and installed some upgrades on my 10’ Streetfighter. Scott was more than helpful even tracking down a rearset I couldn’t find online. All work was performed to my OCD standards and pricing was straightforward and very fair. Thanks again Desmoto team for getting me back on the road quickly!

I think it is extremely important to judge a shop based on how they handle issues with their work, not just if there is an issue in the first place (We’re talking about highly sophisticated and finicky European motorcycles here). Desmoto completed the extensive 18,000 mile service on my Ducati a couple months ago. When the job was finished, there was an intermittent mystery backfire and no check engine light or normal symptoms to clue the team in. They worked tirelessly to replicate the issue and solve the problem. It turned out to be the oddest of all things-a circuit that lit the taillight, handlebar controls, and kill switch was shorting out at the connection under the seat. Who even knows who is to blame for that problem in the first place? No matter. Scott, Brien, Alex, and Darren treated me like a valued customer and won my all future business from how they handled this less than ideal scenario. If you’re looking for an honest, handshake, eye contact kind of shop that will take care of you and your machine; look no further.

I needed a new rear tire on my Ducati..Munroe Motors quoted me a six week wait for an appointment due to a lack of staffing. I called Desmoto and they gave me an appointment 2 days later. I only waited 45 minutes for the tire change and the bike was ready. Good rates, excellent service, I would recommend them without hesitation. I am a first time customer and it was a great experience...

I called to get my KTM 1190 Adventure repaired because the dealer where I purchased the vehicle had a wait list that extended nearly 1 month into the future. Desmoto-sport took me in as a first time customer the day I called. Parts were ordered by the time I left the shop It took 2 days for the parts to arrive and they repaired it that day. They did a great job, friendly, efficient, quality service at a reasonable price.

Really, really great shop. None of the upsells you have do deal with when you hit most other shops (no trying to talk you into replacing tires that dont need it) and aside from being a fraction of the cost of a dealership Ive never had to wait longer than the next day to get my bike in.The showroom is like walking through a cross between a museum and that dream you have of the bikes you would buy after winning the lottery.Staff is super friendly and exceedingly knowledgable; one example was knowing off the top of their heads that a part hadnt changed in 3 years, so I was able to get a 2 year old part for several hundred dollars less than the direct replacement.Highly recommended!

Great shop and nice guys. Price is on par with other Ducati shops but service was sooo much better. My bike was ready before they promised, great communication, and went out of their way to get my rearsets and clip ons to fit on my monster. Also made sure I liked the foot placement.Having a bike as my only form of transportation aside from muni, I really really appreciate not having to wait an extra week from original estimated finish date (like a few other Bay Area Ducati shops). Can tell all of these guys love riding as much as I do.Thanks! One of a few different mechanics I visit in the bay- and they have never done me wrong, Scott, Daren, and the whole team are very helpful and dont hesitate to answer stupid questions. Was referred to this place by a lot of friends and the other yelp reviews were convincing. The staff was really kind at first and I greatly appreciated the time Brien took to walk me through any and all possibilities of my new bike (purchased pre-owned via CraigsList).Brien actually went the extra mile and informed me that I didnt need a 500 mile service since in his assessment he noticed it might have already been done. So instead of a $300 service, Brien took note of the things he was going to do and I ended up with a $80 tab. Awesome! However I got the bike back and noticed 3 issues:1. Overfilled coolant (this is ok since Triumphs overflow boxes are known to lie)2. Broken rear turn signal (the stock ones are known to be easy to break, but yikes!)3. Missing fairing boltI inquired for at least the missing fairing bolt but was immediately told to go to Munroe. To which I did. And boy, Munroe got a customer for life. Thanks for the recommendation I guess.
