Highly commendable employees and service. I give my highest recommendations and appreciation to the staff at Munroe Motors SF. I want to specifically recommend Matthew Thrun (in sales) and Kyle (in parts and service), although the whole team at Munroe are lovely people. Buying a motorcycle can be a harrowing process, especially as a female ride. I was treated with respect from the moment I contacted Munroe through their web portal. Matthew provided me with timely feedback via multiple forms of communication (email, phone call, text) and consistently addressed my questions and concerns. I was never spoken to in a condescending manner or as if I had no understanding of the products I wished to purchase. At the same time, Matthew was kind and patience in answering all my questions and addressing my concerns. When I picked up the bike Matthew walked me through each aspect of my machine. He understood me as a rider and knew I was upgrading to a more technologically integrated bike. More importantly, he knew the machine and had done his research to understand and anticipate what questions I might have about my new beauty. Finally, if you need a helmet or part just ask Kyle. He was able to obtain my request overnight and I picked it up next day – willing to put in the extra effort for the customer. Wherever you live in the Bay make the trip to Munroe. – From 0077

I bought my Triumph at Munroe and have been going here for years. Experience was uneven early on, but lately it’s been stellar. Most recent example: A few weeks ago, my bike wouldn’t start so I had it towed in. They replaced a blown fuse but couldn’t find a cause. I also had them do the annual service. I rode the bike home the next day. The day after, the bike wouldn’t start again. [Obviously, this isn’t the good part] I called and everyone in the service dept was super friendly, said they’d take care of it. One of the owners came out himself to pick up the bike. He was friendly, entirely present / not rushed, keen to solve the problem, and clearly super knowledgeable. He asked several questions and patiently listened to my concerns regarding the way the wiring was laid out on the bike, particularly around the headstock and into the headlamp bucket, and as he was loading the bike, he figured it out! The next day, he brought it back himself with the problem fixed, all the wiring cleaned up, and some extra fuses under the seat to boot. I’m very happy w/ the service.

They will trick you into doing service that you dont need. They told me my drive chain was definitely loose and it needed adjustment, even though my bike was just last month on a service. The guy said it will cost me $60 to tighten it. At the end, they just put lube on it! They did not adjust my chain at all because it didnt need any adjustment. I find that super dishonest. I complained, but they refused to refund me. Very bad service!

I bought a Tiger Rally from Munroe earlier this year and they were great. I was on a bit of a time crunch and they were able to get the sale and first service done really quickly.I worked with Matthew for the sale and he was very accommodating, responsive, and he helped get things done quickly. Andy helped me schedule a last-minute service and he’s been incredibly helpful with questions I’ve had since buying the bike.Andy explicitly told me to take off the aluminum panniers before doing any off-roading. As you can see in the picture, I did not listen. The moral of the story is - listen to Andy! (And also buy a motorcycle from Munroe)

Im torn on giving Munroe 2-stars. I bought a 2018 Street Triple R from Munroe in Feb 2018, and the sales experience with Augy was the easiest buying experience Ive ever had. I was paying cash, and was out on my new bike within 3h!Service, on the other hand, has been a complete disappointment. In May 2018, my bike was knocked over on the street and I brought it in for repairs under insurance in June 2018.After months at the shop, apparently waiting for parts, by mid-August I was told the parts had arrived and my bike would be ready within the week. I had to call in every day that week for updates, and was told that I could pick it up but without a front fender as the correct part was not ordered to repair it. (3 months after bringing it in!)After paying for the repairs, they wheeled my bike out to the street only for me to find it with its broken mirror mount on my, apparently replaced, handlebar. I told them I wasnt going to take a bike without a fender and mirror both, and left it with them to continue the repairs. As I write this, my bike has now been at Munroe for 78 days and there is no ETA for it to be completed.

I went there to purchase 2020 Ducati 821 they have on their website listed for $10,500. Spoke to Matthew. He seemed reasonable guy with decent knowledge of what he was talking about.Asked to send me out the door price with couple of add ons I asked them to install on a bike. And was hoping to wrap up the deal on Tuesday. I did get email but there was quite a hidden fees. Advertised price was increased by 10% (before taxes and fees) with so called handling and freight fee of $1349. Thats a 10% add on a $10,500 advertised price. Thats shady! Ive been running sales department for a while and was always against doing business this way. Sad to see in 2021 dealerships still do business this way.

Youre better off taking your motorcycle to be serviced elsewhere. Sure they are a certified Ducati Dealership but, the service that I paid for was unaccounted for. There were several mistakes on their end. As a local guide, I do not recommend their Ducati Service.Below are photographs of an old vs new Fuel filter. After a close call accident due to failure, I decided to take the motorcycle to a well trusted shop. My mechanic decided to get the motorcycle on the dyno and get it checked out. It turns out that the service Munroe Motors provide was not up to standards. The fuel filter was not changed during its time at the shop in Munroe Motors. When I asked for the old parts at Munroe, (clutch pack, air filter, timing belts, spark plugs, and fuel filter) the fuel filter was the only item that was not given to me beside the oil filter and oil.I was told that the shop smelled too much like gasoline to keep the fuel filter on hand. So they had to throw it away. It could have easily been saved in a zip lock bag. To prove my point, the mechanics at Munroe Motors could have pointed out that the fuel pump was using a different type of non-OEM clamp. Thats how I know that the mechanic never checked or changed the fuel filter. Because of their mistake I could have easily caused an accident.

I rarely (read: never) write reviews. So when a business does something exceptionally right (or wrong), I have to share. Simply put: Munroe Motors was an absolute delight to work with. Bought my Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer from there and the entire experience could not have been better. The motorcycle itself is awesome. But what makes Munroe Motors shine is the customer service. The Roland Sands jacket I bought was actually too big for me and after bringing in the original jacket, they ordered a new one for me to exchange. This would be a fairly innocuous point, but what makes this unique is that these leather jackets are typically never returned because they conform to your body and nobody wants to buy a jacket that has already been broken in. To be fair though, after two weeks of owning the jacket, I rarely (never) wore it. I travel for work a lot. I also bought a RAM Mount that, unfortunately, wasnt the correct configuration for my bike. After I showed them the problem, Kyle, who is probably the nicest guy ever, not only ordered the correct part, but he shipped it to my apartment for free. These guys make the trek from Sunnyvale to SF bearable :)

Absolutely fantastic in every way.I snapped a shift pedal on my Triumph Speed Triple in rural Nebraska ahead of the 4th of July holiday. I managed a temporary fix then. ?Knowing I would be in San Francisco in a few days, I checked in with a number of Bay Area motorcycle shops to see if any of them had a replacement part. Munroe was quick to offer to order up the part (as were several other shops along my route), but I declined. I was not enthused about spending money on parts while on the road if I could help it.A torrential downpour in Nebraska and high winds along I-80 in Wyoming and Utah changed my mind. This was becoming a safety issue, not simply a matter of convenience. By the time I made it to San Francisco, I was getting desperate. It turns out that Munroe took the initiative and ordered the part anyway. I stopped in to talk to them about possibilities and it turned out that the part had arrived a couple of hours before I did. They slapped it on, charged me a remarkably decent price for the part, and now Im poised to start my way up the coast on the 2nd leg of a 5,000-mile trip from the Midwest and back.I now know who to recommend to anyone who needs parts and service out in the Bay Area. Thanks, guys; you seriously saved my bacon.

This shop does not stand behind any product they sell, nor do they value customer satisfaction.I purchased my bike with them and trusted them to do my first service and a GPS install. Thats it. Not a single part of this process was easy or quick – except the part when they took my money; theyre great at that.Heres a few reasons you might avoid purchasing a bike at Monroe:• Theyll over-bill for service hours at an egregious hourly rate (the required minimum is 1h).• The customer service is abysmal at best. Youll need to call to get the status of your service. Theyll promise to call and update you with any changes, but never do.• Your bike *will* be stuck at their shop for weeks at a time. In my case a simple fix (improperly installed GPS unit) took 4 weeks.• If you show them any sign of irritation, theyll speak to you with a complete disregard for your patronage. Possibly the most condescending staff Ive ever experienced.•They use very misleading language. When I purchased the bike I was told that the first service was on them which I mistook to mean that the cost was going to be covered... They actually just meant that theyll do the first service, if I pay them.• The admin staff informed me that its normal for a bike battery to die if you dont ride it at least every other day (after their GPS installation my battery was dying weekly, on a brand new bike).• All sales, literally of anything, are final. When I inquired about a refund for a part they sold me that wasnt performing as promised, they refused and stated that all sales are non-refundable.

I imagine I’m “blacklisted” either due to my instagram post detailing their many mistakes made by service or due to the fact that I bought a lemon from them and instead of just going away (when they lied to me) I fought for my rights. But it’s kind of like saying, “you can’t fire me, I quit”, no way I’d ever step foot in there again.I’d spend more time detailing their mishaps but I’ve waisted enough time on this company already and it’s clear they are buying reviews so it’ll just get buried. No matter how much more you know about motorcycles and the Ducatis they have on the floor, prepare for the arrogant dressing down. And of course no test rides. So what did I do? Bought a KTM from Scuderia around the corner who were nothing but friendly and easy going and let me take an 1190 adventure for a 2hr test ride. Then, I had a friend that brought his Moto Guzzi in here for service under warranty, and they said that the warranty claim was rejected by the manufacturer. Of course my friend called Moto Guzzi North America, and they said they never received a call about a warranty claim for that VIN. Seems Monroe was hoping that my friend would just pay for the work out of pocket because it would compensate them better. They completed good work under the warranty once caught in their lie, I guess thats 2 stars?

Had a terrible service experience at Munroe twice! with my brand new 2018 Street triple RS - I went to them to replace my left switch cube under warranty since one of the switches was not functioning properly. The first time, the replaced the switch cube under warranty. However, I noticed upon delivery of the bike that the switch cube looked used and scratched. Additionally, the button that I had issues with, was still not working well (would get stuck). On bringing this up with Munroe, they blamed it on Triumph for sending the wrong part (Sure, but Munroe should have noticed that its a bad part and still does not fix the problem before delivering the bike to me.). They ordered another part and called me in again. Scheduled a drop off on a Saturday and was told the job will be done in 45 mins. On arriving at the shop, I asked to see the part first. The part looked new but now I noticed that it had an extra switch. They then found out that it was actually an EU part and not an US part. They assured that it would not be a problem and would work fine. I left the bike around 3 PM and it was not ready even at 5:15PM !!! They called me at 5:20 - I went over and I found the shutter was closed. Sam Swain (service manager) was waiting outside with the bike. He handed over the keys and walked away and closed the shutter (They never wait for you to inspect your bike.. So annoying! ). Upon checking the switchcube, I found that my headlights and heated grips were toggling on and off by themselves. So basically they busted my switchcube all together. Moreover, the mode button that toggles TC and ABS is also on this switchcube so I was worried that if those toggle on and off while I am riding on a freeway, it could be pretty dangerous. Since this was Saturday closing time, Sam said he cannot do anything now right then. I would have to leave the bike there and since Sundays and Mondays are closed, I would get the bike back on Wednesday !!! I requested for a loaner bike and Sam could not offer me one. Basically, they fd up my bike and left me stranded! I took off because I could not deal with how unprofessional Sam and the entire team at Munroe was. I had to later escalate the matter with Truimph America and they were able to help me fix the issues by having my bike towed to Marin speed shop where I had a much better experience. I highly recommend Marin speed shop for Triumph over this place. They even offer free towing for your bike in the city and have wayyy way better customer service

One star for mechanical competency and care. I took my Street Triple R in for its 12k service since it was more complex than I wanted to deal with myself and I figured the shop I bought it from should be able to handle it, right? Apparently not. Before I get into the story, here’s what they did wrong:1. Misroute a gas overflow drain line, causing countershaft seal damage2. Apply sealant to the countershaft seal in a failed attempt to fix it (after I called and complained) rather than replace it correctly3. Overfilled the oil by about a quart4. Overtightened the chain (~1/2” of play, under-spec for this bike)5. Failed to replace the gas overflow drain line, leaving the overflow to drain right on multiple electrical connectors and the engineThe morning after I get it back from service, I arrive at work only to realize that my bike is leaking oil on the ground, and most dangerously, on my rear tire. I was upset as I just paid a significant amount of money to have work done, and now it’s endangering my life and possibly my engine. I call and they are kind enough to have someone pick it up.I first get a call from the shop exclaiming that this somehow wasn’t their fault and avoided taking any responsibility! I found this both frustrating and unprofessional as something done during the service was the only thing that could have caused it. Later that day I get a second call, apologetic this time, claiming they fixed it and it was ready to pick up, no charge. Seemed like a good turn around time, so I was pretty happy - for now. That weekend I find it’s still leaking oil and getting on my rear tire, albeit not as much as before. Rather than trust the shop I take a look at what was going on.I find that the countershaft seal that had been leaking, that they said they fixed, had just been covered in blobs of sealant, which obviously wasn’t working (see pic). In addition, I checked my oil level and found they overfilled the oil by almost a quart and drained the extra into two large cups (see pic). In addition, my chain had been over-tightened with only about half an inch of play. Between the chain and the oil I started to really question if these people are qualified to do any work at all, since they can’t seem to do even the simplest things right.I order a new seal and replace it myself in roughly an hour and haven’t had any issues leaking since. I was surprised how easy it was considering they weren’t able to, or weren’t willing to, do this themselves.According to the mechanic that I had talked to, the gas overflow tube had been mis-routed and caught around the countershaft, damaging the seal. Apparently they weren’t lying because later when I lifted my gas tank to clean the air filter, I found the overflow drain tube missing, leaving the overflow to drain right on some electrical connectors and my engine! After seeing all this, I can only hope the valve adjustment and cam chain tensioning they did was much more careful.Overall, getting work done on my bike here was a terrible experience, endangering both myself and my bike, and highlighting an amazing level of incompetence and lack of care. I would recommend anyone considering getting work done here go elsewhere to a more trustworthy shop or do it yourself.

There all a bunch of stellar chaps, who work hard to make customers happy.Yes, they are not cheap. Its San Francisco. Nothing is cheap here. Recommend you learn how to do basic maintenance. But you get what you pay for.So far after 7 months owning this bike, I have been nothing but impressed with the service I get from the guys at Munroe Motors. Consider buying your next Ducati, Triumph, MV or Moto Guzzi there.edit: Been with Munroes going on 2 years now. Buying a bike from a shop and sticking with the shop is a bit like a marriage. Andy, Sam, the other guys there really know their stuff. Treat them well and they will treat you well. I moved out of the city so my next bike wasnt bought from them, but it would have been if they could have gotten me the deal I was looking for on a 2015 model.

Had a nightmare experience at a competitor of Munroe that resulted in me missing a couple fairing bolts. Ironically, the competitor told me to come to Munroe to resolve my issues. Hah. Now Munroe has a customer for life.Bobby must have taken at least 30 minutes to assure we had the right bolt ordered for my Triumph. Throughout the whole process I just felt horrible wasting this kind gentlemans time over 2 frickin fairing bolts! Bobby gave me a call after 3 business days to let me know my bolts came in and assured me that if they wont fit he will do an exchange for me to get me the right ones.I got home and found out that the hole the bolt goes into was stripped (probably another gift from Munroes competitor). Bobby went the extra mile and gave me a breakdown of what options I have to resolve the issue - he even gave me contact information for someone to chase the threads on my stripped fairing fastner. All of this....for just fairing bolts. I can only imagine what happens if I were to have a problem with any service they provide. A+ service here especially working with Bobby. Cant wait for the next service interval on my Daytona, its coming straight to Munroe.
