Went for the first time today and it is AWESOME!!! They have all the tools that you will ever need and the employees there will help you with all your questions. Now!!! Make sure that you bring all your consumables (oil, brake fluid, and all that) all tools and lifts and all that stuff, are available to customers, but bring your parts and consumables!Honestly!!! For $29 a month (for the cheap membership) or $250/month you can save A LOT! Of money on maintaining and fixing your motorbike yourself, spending time with a loved one, and learning all the quirks

Best place in SF to wrench, have a beer, organize ride, get work done or just lounge -- all around extremely cool motorcycle enthusiasts and nice bikes. Owners are awesome and friendly. Ask for Erica. I hear she makes great British tea.

This place is great.I joined the club a few weeks after I bought my first motorcycle. I am a little bit mechanically inclined but, by virtue of living in a tiny SF apartment, I dont own a single tool and I certainly wouldnt have space to work on my bike.P&C is THE solution to this. It is a friendly and clean environment where you can work on your bike as much as you want. They usually have all the tools you need and there is ALWAYS someone there who can help you. When I owned a car I was able to change the brakes and oil myself, but with the new manager Matts help, I was able to change out the fuel filter on my bike in 2.5 hours yesterday (maybe a professional mechanic could have done this in 1.5 but not much faster than that). Now my bike runs great, I learned a bit more about how it works, and I saved a couple hundred bucks by not taking it to a shop.If you own a bike in SF and wish you had space and tools to work on it, joining P&C is a no-brainer. This place is the best.

A really great new spot in SOMA is piston and chain! This is a great place to hang out if you are into motorcycles, the culture, or just want to learn more about bikes. The place is amazing, from the vintage bikes, the great culture, or the perfect atmosphere to hang out and get some wrenching done. If you become a member you can even work on and store your motorcycle there! Everyone is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They also hold great events for members as well. #onesmallstep

One of the most excellent places in San Francisco. Part community motorcycle garage, part community center, part start-up incubator, you will find all different kinds of people and bikes here, all of them friendly.

Piston and Chain is an utterly unique endeavor. It enables experiences for motorcycle enthusiasts in their community garage. Im new to riding and have found a welcoming, enthusiastic community of motorcyclists since becoming a member.A few of my favorite things:1. Community garage - all the tools and equipment you need to work on your bike. If you are a newbie like I am, its a really supportive space to work and learn along the way. If you are an ole pro at the art of motorcycle maintenance youll find comrades discussing the finer points of maintaining, building and fixing.2. Clean, airy industrial space with giant leather couches thats cool to hang out in. I live in SOMA so its basically an extension of my place!3. Workshops by pros (how to change your tire!). Become a DIYer!4. Engaging events with other motorcycle enthusiasts. Think people who ride crazy RTW trips with minimal gear, pro-racers, industrial design heroes, etc... there is always someone interesting presenting at Piston & Chain.5. All types of motorcycles are welcome - dirtbikes, racing, bobbers, vintage, cafe racers, etc.. - its a really cool blend of folks.Added bonus:Ogle (and buy) really hot vintage motorcycles and some pretty spiffy gear.

Dont want to work on my motorcycle on the sidewalk, and they have just about every tool I could need. Along with helpful staff and a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.
