Charles is honest, punctual and thorough. I used him for a used car pre purchase inspection. He sees things any buyer would miss with the naked eye. Gave me an honest opinion on if he’d purchase the truck and saved me about 3k. 100% would use his services again. I paid $200 all in. A bit of a premium compared to others, however, you get what you pay for. It’s hard to find a mechanic you can trust.

Charles was incredibly helpful in his pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle. Since I dont live nearby, he met the seller without me there. After the inspection, he called me and explained in detail both what was wrong with the vehicle and what each of those things would mean for me as a potential owner, as well as sending a written report of the things he found and estimated costs to fix. He helped me through every step of the process, even going so far as to give his personal opinion on what I should offer in negotiations and giving me his personal cell phone number to have him help interpret smog test results days after the job was done. Ill never buy a used car again without an inspection like this, and I wouldnt go to anyone else in the South Bay.

Best mobile mechanic in San Jose, CA. I called up Mobile Auto Works and within minutes Charles came and replaced my battery. He also checked the charging system (alternator), and the starter. The problem that was happening with my Ford was not starting up. All of this, mobile auto works check even before they performed the battery replacement. This quality of service right at your doorstep is priceless! My only car broke down on a Sunday and I needed it for work the next day but ALL the auto repair shops were closed except this guy. Mobile Auto Works is the best mobile service I know. He has helped me out of many jams. My boyfriend tried to fix my car and that created a misfire. Hire. This. Guy.Thats it, end of review.Not really, Im a woman and we talk. Sooooo...My husband and I have used Charles of Mobile Auto Works on not one, not two, but on THREE occasions. Our first experience was when we hired him to fix my possessed 05 Mercedes C230K. He came to my job and immediately went on a ride-along with me to diagnose a few issues. In short, he fixed what was wrong and then further quoted me for another job I inquired about (on top of a couple of other existing issues), but its pretty lofty $ to repair. I told him I just wanted to get rid of it because I was about to enter the market for a new car within the next few months anyway. And hes so honest and straightforward, yet could have been greedy and convinced me otherwise so he could make money off of it, but even he said to basically be done with the car. And then... Two weeks later, Hubbys car died. So, we were kinda forced to keep the Benz and my better half wants his wifey in a new, reliable car- #realman. So, we decided to hold on to the MBZ and drive it until its death; its a literal “ride-or-die” ride.Now, let me tell you about Charles and his worth-every-penny when you have him show up at the car dealership with all his gadgets, tools, and printer to help you get the price lower skills.Last March, we had him do a pre-inspection on a sickkkk 14 Ford Explorer Sport, all blacked out, might I add. He found that the vehicle is generally in really great shape, but was able to detect a few things that the dealership was trying to let slide during their 172-point(less?) inspection.So, needless to say, Charles inspection report helped us slay at the dealership and we rolled out in our new-to-us SUV! 5 days later, I went back to the dealership to get four brand new tires and a battery as part of the sales deal thanks to the information Charles armed us with for negotiations. A year and three months later, the truck is still running smoothly and we havent needed to call Charles for anything on it!Now remember the Mercedes? Well, she served her purpose well and we were forced to put her to sleep two weeks ago. We immediately went searching for her replacement, and happened upon a pretty, shiny 2017 pre-owned convertible Mustang. Of course, our first step was to hit up Charles again and have him come through. And come through he did as he spent a great amount of time inspecting every, single detail. While this muscle car was absolutely gorgeous from hood to trunk, the insides were a mess. And thats what Ive noticed tends to happen when you have a current-year vehicle that was a… previous rental with 35k on the odometer (I know, what were we thinking?!.). Charles and was able to find a few too many issues for us to move forward with purchasing it. His exact words were, “If I were you, Id just move on to the next.” And move on we did. We opted for a brand new Dodge Challenger with 8 whole miles on its block. And you know how when you get a new whip, you take that “keys in hand, standing next to the car, huge all-teeth smile, while still at the dealership” money shot that you send to yo mama, yo daddy and yo bff? Yeah we did that, except we added one more recipient- Charles. Im pretty sure he thinks we made a better decision… Unless hes not a Dodge fan. Lol.
