After visiting a handful of bridal gown shops and not being able to envision myself in my dream dress, I am so thankful that I met Son Thai (owner and designer) at Bridal Gown Studio. Its hard being petite trying on sample size dresses where I had to be clipped to the extreme or stuffed with a pillow in my back to get an inkling of how the dress may look if fitted. I found myself liking bits and pieces of dresses, but never came across anything that I really fell in love with.I had a very good idea of what I wanted, which really helped streamline and make the whole design process smooth with Son Thai. I wanted a 2-in-1 dress, tea length reception dress with a long skirt attachment for the ceremony. I showed him photos of pieces of dresses that I loved and he brought my vision to life. I was really nervous putting full trust in him and not being able to see anything physical until months later, but he delivered! It was everything I imagined and so much more. The best part was that he was able to customize my dress the way I wanted, it fit perfectly for my small frame, and his bridal gown studio is a one stop shop offering hair/veil accessories to complete the look.Son Thai is excellent at what he does from having experience with working alongside top wedding designers in the field (ex: Vera Wang). He is passionate at what he does and he goes above and beyond to ensure quality, fit, and most importantly is more than willing to work with your budget. He keeps it real and will give his recommendations, so you look your absolute best for the most important day of your life. UPDATE: My husband LOVED my dress!! Just as much as I love it 😊 we had the perfect beach wedding in Capitola and my dress went beautifully with my cowboy boots. Cant wait to take it back to Sonthai for the cleaning service that Bridal Gown Studio offers. I cannot express how much they made my dress finding and buying experience a breeze.I highly recommend this place. Sonthai, the designer/owner, 1000% knows what hes doing and knows your vision before you even do! Granted I came in with an open mind, did express a bit of what I was looking for but open to suggestions as well. Immediately he said he had the perfect dress for me and that he did!! He made finding THE dress so simple.

I am very disappointed with Sonthai he promised to have my dress ready since March 2021 and he supposed to do long sleeve lace to my dress and another alterations, I told him to give me the rest of the fabric and I would tell somebody else to do it for me..I went to pick up my dress a week before my weddingI am thankful to Mrs Carmen she did a nice workAnd also Sonthai never send me the veil…And he know I live almost 3 hours away

I am so happy I found my perfect wedding dress with Sonthai Gi, the designer. I know I can be very picky, so it was difficult to find a dress that fits my style. Since he designs his own dresses, he was able to tailor the dress to my tastes even though my wedding is in three months. The total price was also within my budget, including the tailoring. And he does his own in-house alterations, which is a big +! For any brides looking for a one-stop shop in the SF Bay Area, I would highly recommend checking him out!

I came in open minded on my dress and I instantly found my dress on the hanger! Sonthai was very conscious of my budget and helped me stay on point! Other bridal stores I have visited felt very cookie cutter and corporate. The Bridal Gown Studio however, is not a cookie cutter experience. Being able to work directly with a designer turned out to be very valuable to me. Not because I was seeking a unique, custom, or especially fancy dress but because as a designer Sonthai is experienced and knowledgeable.Fashion isnt my strong suit and I was glad to hear his thoughts and suggestions throughout the process. He made several suggestions to improve the gown and ultimately made it more uniquely mine. 10/10 would go again

His gowns are beautifully made and she found the perfect dress here! I don’t even know where to begin with how pleased I am with Sonthai at Bridal Gown Studio. If you’re on the search for your dream wedding dress, make an appointment right away and I promise you will not be disappointed!Let me just give a rundown of my experience at Bridal Gown Studio. I was pretty late to the game on the wedding dress hunt and had accepted the fact that I would probably end up settling for an off-rack, underwhelming dress due to my limited timeline. However, I came into Bridal Gown Studio four months before my wedding date with just a few inspiration pictures and Sonthai was able to immediately pick out a dress that fit my vision perfectly. It was absolutely breathtaking and exactly what I had envisioned in my head as my ideal wedding gown. Amazed at how gorgeous this dress was, my next obstacle was that it was pretty far out of my budget (and understandably so for how beautifully constructed the gown was). Reluctantly, my friend and I left the store to explore more affordable options but as I tried on gowns at other boutiques, my mind always seemed to drift back to the one I tried on at Bridal Gown Studio. Nothing seemed to compare to the quality and how beautiful I felt in Sonthai’s dress, so I just knew that I had to go back and look one more time. Two days later we gave him a call and asked to come by. He was extremely accommodating and was actually able to get us in within the next hour (even though it was a busy holiday). So there I was standing in the mirror wearing his dress once more and I just knew it was “the one”. It was flawless. The quality of Sonthai’s work really speaks for itself and no matter what gown you go with, I assure you that you will love it.Long story short, Sonthai offered me the most generous deal I could have ever asked for and I left his store in shock that it had actually happened. I had secured my dream dress! Sonthai is such a genuine, good-hearted individual that always made me feel very comfortable and welcomed in his store. He listened to each and every one of my wishes and worked with me to make sure that the final dress would be everything that I envisioned in my head and more. If you have a wish, he can turn it into a reality. I said I had always loved the look of lacy sleeves so he said he could add them on to the dress that I wanted. Then I was unsure if my summer wedding would be too hot for sleeves so he said he could make it so that I could remove them at any point. He really can do it all if you just ask!I would recommend Sonthai at Bridal Gown Studio to any of my friends or family and I don’t even normally write reviews for anything, but for him, he is definitely worthy of one. With that being said, if you are even thinking about going elsewhere, do yourself a favor and just don’t.

The stirs is very small, dresses are kinda old school, and I didn’t get a full attention and help from the staff. My friend helped to change, otherwise it would be really hard.

Sonthai did an amazing job with my dress. I had gastric bypass surgery last November (2016) and he was able to get everything dialed in so my dress fit like a well tailored glove. I highly recommend him!

When I walked into Sonthais Bridal Gown Studio, I described my dream wedding dress that I hadnt been able to find anywhere online or in person. I was looking for something very specific, and I had started to feel like I wouldnt realistically be able to find it. When Sonthai heard my description, he walked upstairs and found a dress that he had been making but had not finished yet, and, I kid you not, it was absolutely everything I had imagined. I shared a fairytale moment with my mom and bridesmaids as we stared in awe at the dress I had been searching for. Sonthai is a truly brilliant artist- his designs are runway level, and he was super kind and collegial throughout the entire process. Dont be fooled by the outside of his studio, its hard to tell it is a bridal studio just walking up to it, but when you go inside you will see that it is a diamond in the rough.Sonthai worked with me to make sure the dress fit perfectly (he ordered two sizes because I was concerned the smaller size would be too small), and he included a beautiful skirt with a beaded belt and veil at no extra cost of the original dress, and alterations were also included in the price. This skirt allowed for two looks at my wedding, and it was SO fun to be able to wear the skirt as I walked down the aisle and then surprise guests when I removed it for our grand entrance. I never imagined I would find as beautiful of a wedding dress as the one Sonthai made, and I highly recommend his intricately stunning bridal designs.

A friend took me to a few bridal salons AT BRIDES OF Bridal Gown Studio saved me. She found my dream dress in less than an hour at another store, had it brought over the next day for me to try on, and lo and behold I was on my flight with my dress stress free.THANK YOU Bridal Gown Studio!!!

We were a bit put off by the start of the appt - they were running twenty minutes late and my group had to wait on the sidewalk for the other appt to end.Once inside, I found out that every dress is a minimum price of $2,000 - theyre beautiful of course, but if Id known the minimum price in the store up front I never would have gone. The sales clerk tried to convince us that buying a cheaper dress plus alterations would end up that price anyways (I have not found this to be true) and that if the owner were present he could give a better deal, but wasnt able to give any kind of number value (plus how should I know when hes around and when he isnt?) We ended up leaving without trying anything on, because it was more than I wanted to spend.The dresses looked gorgeous, and the sales lady was very nice, but just be advised that the store minimum price is two thousand.

I Was consulted by Lynne and really loved the customer service. She wasnt pushy and gave good advice and even helped me take photos! Even though I was there on a Saturday, it didnt feel rushed and stressful.

I came across this store on Yelp after feeling completely overwhelmed and discouraged after my previous bridal appointments at bridal chain stores. But I guess the third time is indeed, the charm! Bridal Gown Studio was indeed my lucky charm, thanks to Sonthai! =D He was super flexible when it came to scheduling appointments, only schedules one at a time, so all his attention is on you. And, if youre like me, that dont want to feel the pressure (especially for your bridal gown!) of people walking by and looking at you, 15+ other brides walking around looking at dresses, and making this experience intimate (with yourself) and unique; then, this store and Sonthai is ALL you need. No more crazy running around, trying to schedule appointments, feeling the pressure to commit to something you just dont feel ready to do so, or sugar coating the appointment so you get to buy a dress. He was personable and made my night! I would have never thought that finding my dress would be so easy. THANK YOU! Oh, and the best part? He worked for VERA WANG! AND he designs every dress so you get to wear truly something unique and made especially for you. I couldnt be happier with my purchase and overall experience! SO thankful :)

Son Thai is great! My dress was beautiful! He is patient during the bridezilla moments one goes thru during this time. Hes ready to work with and keeps it real. He wont sell you something to make a buck.
