This is a huge store that goes back and beyond. The clerk is super friendly and helpful and gives attention to children, not just the parent. Maybe theres a lollipop treat! It looks like bargains are to be had and many sales are available. However, prices are high or not on sale for the usual essential items (shoes), of course! There must be many dance organizations that works with this store for costumes and supplies.

This business is fantastic! The selection is amazing. The owner (Jan) was so patient and remarkable with fitting my daughter for pointe shoes. Dont go anywhere else!

Family-run, friendly shop. Extensive collection of dance wear, shoes, accessories, and makeup. They lose a star simply because they tend to have a limited selection of sizes. Especially in clothing, limited to smaller sizes. Of course, that could be just the nature of the products tend toward a more lithe clientele, but it can be difficult for a more generous figure to find an appropriate size.

Went today to get some pointe shoes for my daughter. Easy to find. Lots of parking outside. The lady was amazing. Really knows her stuff. Nothing was too much trouble. My daughter tried on various shoes until she found the right ones. Would 100% recommend going here. Very reasonably priced too.

San Jose Dancewear has always had what I needed in stock. I wear a size 12 street shoe so its frequently difficult to find dance shoes and service without contempt from employees at other locations. When at San Jose Dancewear, the employees have responded happily that they carry my size in several different styles.The first time I was in search of character shoes and they brought 5 different boxes in my size to try. They asked several question about the type of dancing Id be using them for before guiding me to a pair thats still in great shape 7 months later.Today, I was in search of dance sneakers for a Salsa class. Kaylyn helped me, bringing 4 pairs of shoes in several sizes (knowing street size is ALWAYS different than dance size). The third pair I tried was absolutely perfect. Simply by the fact that I had choice, rather than just accepting whatever was in my size, is magic in my book.Service has always been cheery (aside from one weird experience was an older gentleman) and Im thrilled to call this store my go-to shop when I need shoes. Despite living in San Carlos, Im happy to make the small trek to know theyll have what I need.

We left simply because everywhere you look in the store was something they DONT do. The person behind the counter never left her stool. But I guess that’s because they also charge $15 just to fit dance shoes.... at a dance store.Here’s a tip... work on your manners.We left and spent all of our $500 elsewhere, simply because there was zero welcoming about this store.

First off Im not a dancer or any kind of preformer. I came to buy some makeup that I wanted to try first hand and not guess which colors Id like online. The selection isnt humoungous but it is enough for what i needed and the prices are very reasonable. The sales associate that helped me was very helpful and helped me immediately with what I needed.

Dont come here for Latin dance shoes (ballroom dance shoes). Went in and picked out three so-so looking pairs of shoes from Stephanie (brand) and Capezio (another brand) to try on in size 6 or a 6.5 and they had neither. Asked the young store attendant girl if they would get new shoes in anytime soon and got a flat no. Asked if I could take a picture of the shoes so I could try and find them elsewhere since they didnt have my size and got another flat no. Just seemed like pretty poor customer service. Otherwise if youre looking for dance clothes or other dance stuff seemed like a big store with a lot of selection.

Called in looking for my nieces Jazz Dancing Shoes. I dont know much about this things but I have to make my wife happy. I was actually dreading it .... but the way I was treated on the phone and when I showed up... I felt like I was a long time friend and not just another customer.... 5 Stars definitely!

Great personal service, they help you with the fitting of the shoes. Dance shoes fit differently then Street shoes. I never knew that before going to this place and I really appreciated their help very professional.

It is the kind of shop that you can probably get some choices on anything you need. The staff was very helpful when I want to find the right shoes. However, the layout of the shop feels messy, so I removed one star.

The store is spacious and well organized. They have a good selection of shoes and the prices are great. The location is easy access from hwy 280. The people working there knew their inventory so they were very helpful!

My wife called the store to reserve two items for my daughterThe next day when she was there, she noticed that the package for the fishnet was opened, so she want to open the package to check before make payment. She was told by the store clerk/manager that she has to pay before she can open the package. Upon payment, my wife checked the fishnet inside and it was broken, wife ask for refund since it was the last one in store. Return was refused and saying only credit to be issued, asking the name of the the clerk/ manager was refused, asking to speak to store owner was refused..Come on... can you just package broken item, reseal it and take no responsibility at all! Now we have the store credit, but hate to to come back to shop anything because the store without a soulThe worst store experience ever!!!!

I typically do not write reviews, however am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and respect that has been displayed by multiple San Jose Dance employees. We ordered shoes in mid August and have had numerous problems with the order being fulfilled to date. The first order wasnt placed, the second attempt one pair arrived and when I called for the third time to check on the status I was told I would get a call back from the owner with an update. I did not receive a call from the owner so called today to check in again. I just got off the phone and was told the shoes were released from hold because I was called multiple times to pick them up which is not the case. The gentleman I spoke with was disrespectful and treated me like this was my fault. Seems so inconvenienced and when I told him that, he hung up on me. Not the way to deal with a problem at all but seems to reflect the characteristics of the employees. Our first time there one of the employees swore numerous times in front of my daughter while telling a story to a coworker. Take a little more pride in your business......so disappointing.

When I went the lady kept talking with some other customers and we were just standing there for like 10-15 minutes and we went to the front and asked the man for what I needed and he asked me my size but gave me a the shoes like 5 sizes smaller and just left and went back to the front desk. We went to go tell him but he didnt even pay attention to us and it was already like 5-10 minutes later and the lady was talking about Disneyland with the two customers. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

It’s the worst dance store ever. They use the tiny dressing room as storage and you can barley walk in it. The carpet is nasty and everything is overpriced.
