Dont go to these guys - there are several other reliable garage door companies in San Jose. We had a horrible experience with their Manager John and their scheduler Beth. They left us hanging for weeks. Rather than fixing a simple problem he wanted to charge us $1,350 for an easy $200 repair. We really needed their help and they could have cared less.

The folks at Halycon Overhead Doors are rock stars. I had an emergency failure of our garage door today (my fault) and needed service today. I called and spoke with Beth. She was so very understanding and while she put me on hold she was able to get a technician to confirm that he could come to the house TODAY, same day, and take a look. John, the technician, had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. John also took a look at the door and did a tune-up as well. Halcyon installed our door about 20 years ago and it still works like new. These Guys are a really good, honest Business. They quoted me right over the phone on the cost of a Spring Repair for my Garage Door. This is key as some Services wont quote you over the phone and they try to play on the fact that your stuck and will quote a ridiculous price when they get to your home. Dont fall for it, a reputable repair service like Halycon will quote you right over the phone, no BS. The Spring size can vary a little, but you can measure your Spring and tell them over the phone. The labor cost is fixed, they know exactly what it costs to install them.It turned out that my Door is a heavy Carriage style door, two guys cant lift it without Springs in place, so it requires a larger Spring than typical Doors. Anthony was the Service Technician that came out, he was excellent, and let me listen to his call back to the office to locate the right Springs. He also gave me the option of installing 4 smaller Springs, or replacing the 2 existing same size Spring with the difference in cost breakdown. I chose to replace the same size Springs, which took an additional day for them to get. Anthony was back the next morning with them and installed them in less than an hour. I would highly recommend Anthony and Halcyon, great job, very happy.

I used Halcyon for both my purchase and maintenance of my garage door over the years. The service has always been very prompt and courteous, and the prices seem fair. Ive used other garage door services a couple of times to replace broken parts thinking that a local company would be faster, but I prefer the quality of service that Halcyon provides even though they are almost 40 miles away.
