Too aggressive and hostile. I came to this shop looking for ammo. A simply asked if he had some and he started to act aggressive with me as if I disrespected him somehow. While i was showing him the at most respect. I quickly left because i knew he was about to yell at me for asking if he had certain ammo in stock.

Great experience. Walked out with a new knife and some more knowledge. Stayed open past closing just so I could look around and ended up talking guns and knives with a good man.

Ive never bought anything here as of yet but I know the shop and Ive seen the owner time and time again. I live right down the street and have for many years. Just by reading the reviews I can tell you straight up - its simple. The man has his store, he has his business and he knows what he knows and stands by what he stands for. And there are certain things he knows from his experience and from watching the world that he just wont stand for. Simple as that. You got a lot of kids out there with no integrity, no honor, no taste and are not trustworthy. I agree with the owner, there are guns that should not be legal to be bought and for many reasons. People need to know the dynamics.Fact: Communist countries send insurgents here -sometimes whole families, many times whole gangs - in order to commit crimes - and sometimes horrible ones. Why would a military send troops over the water or air when they can send non-troops right across the border and have them arm themselves there? This is exactly whats happening and this is many times exactly what hitmen spies and assassins do. Its not just throwaway-phones or throwaway guns out there.Nowadays governments use throwaway people.Gangs use throwaway people.Twisted organizations like the Satanic cult use throwaway people. If a man comes in and hardly speaks English and asks for an automatic assault rifle with hollow-tip bullets - in Willow Glen - I hope to God he turns them down or doesnt keep that in stock or theres laws against those types of guns being sold to the public.Dont get me wrong Im a firm believer in our right to bare arms and I am a firm believer that right now we should most definitely be armed - but not all of us should be given guns.Discernment is needed. Some people out there cannot be trusted. The man or woman needs to have a good head on their shoulder and a good heart in their chest - and they should damn well know how to speak English, or come back once theyve loved their neighbors enough to have learned. If I get a gun, Id get one of those classics. Why not. I would never want something designed for killing lots of people because I would never want to do such a thing. Says a lot about people who do want those kinds of guns. Id rather have something like one of those revolvers with the wood-finished handles. This is the West why in the hell dont we act like it right. Good for protection if I ever need it and besides, people act like these crazy new guns are new XBox 360s video game counsels. These arent toys and Im sure the owner can tell who acts like theyd only have an itchy trigger finger once they get the gun. A person shouldnt be fiending for an automatic assault rifle. Thats a red flag. Get a revolver, and be humble with it and pray you never have to use it on anyone. If that aint your mentality - then you shouldnt be given a gun.

Well I was told this man would be able to tell me more about my Black Powder Hawkins than Hawkins him self. I walked out 6hr maybe more with my Hawkins ready to go and a Pennsylvania long rifle and all the means to fare away. They dont make these type of me many more. Im proud to have the honor being able to talk to Jim and ask him questions that have be for 39 years waiting for the man who could tell me!Your comradeRyan M. FerrisP.s Pattey Cline smaked this man. By god you met him and youall no way.Gentlemen to the core!

Ive been shopping here for over 30 years and cant understand why some people give this place bad reviews. Yes, Joe has a gruff exterior, but he has a heart of gold. You can talk knives or guns with him all day long and always come away with learning something new. At almost 90 he has the experience and knowledge of an encyclopedia. I am a knife collector and Joe will match or come close to most internet prices. He does not carry clones or cheap gas station blades. Ive always had a great experience every time I walk in.

Great knife selection area as has already been covered. Owner very knowledgeable and seems to be a perfectionist as far as the details on the repair work he does, although hes a little slow on repairs so if youve any scoundrels that need immediate dispatch id suggest you either use a different gun or ask them to return when the repairs are completed ie: my smithy .38 short nickelplated job ur workin on now dawg. 😆

I called this shop to see if they could help me with some gunsmithing. An older gentleman answered the phone and after explaining what I needed several times he commenced to explain what my rifle did and did not have, which was wrong. I corrected him and explained again what I was looking for, at which point his attitude became very condescending and he actually started talking down to me and giving me more incorrect information about the rifle that I was trying to get work done to. I have worked asmanagement in retail for years and the way this gentleman interact with me is not the way you should ever to talk to a customer much less someone in polite society, and will keep me from ever visiting or recommending this shop again.

Contacted this San Jose local firearm shop regarding a firearm I was interested in. After being exploded at and given a lecture on how certain types of guns should be outlawed, I was arrogantly hung up on. This is a poor way to run a business. Looking for a quality shop to spend $$$$ at, you would think employees here would at least have the courtesy to politely decline service or refer elsewhere. If you do not like semi automatic rifles, maybe if you had been polite I would have taken my business back here to spend money on other non semi auto firearms in my collection. Or you could have educated me on why you think they are evilPOOR review, has been also reviewed in the firearms community as a poor spot for customer service. They may know their stuff, but who wants to go to a spot who treats customers like crap? Maybe your experience will be better.
