This was the first time I went to this particular Ace Hardware store. Like many smaller hardware stores it is positively crammed to the top with most everything that you are likely to need to finish up a job that has already required 4 trips to the nearest big box store. They had a few things there that I could not find anywhere else. The staff was helpful, available and friendly.All in all I had a very good experience there and wont hesitate to shop there again when I am in the neighborhood.

I visit in my local Ace Hardware store on Lincoln Avenue in San Jose and you won’t believe what happened . I was there to pick up three gallons of paint. So I asked the young man That was working if you could help me he said no because they were closed then I replied, it is 6:28 pm you close at 7:00 I looked at him with with bewilderment I couldn’t understand why you couldn’t help me if they weren’t closed .My family frequent the store quite often don’t like going to the big box stores because of the friendly atmosphere at this store. I’ve never had this experience before very disappointed.

Fantastic neighborhood hardware store with real people who can help you. Tried the big box places to get a shed key copied. No success. Store drones told me what their machine told them: the key is not in the system. The folks at this Ace location recognized the blank match, overrode the machine, and made me copies that worked. Thank goodness for this place.

Happy ACE is back, with new owners. Substantial investments in the building will hopefully yield great results. The ACE has a lot of new brands and unique touches, unlike typical HD or Lowe’s. Personal service exudes here, they even have Walnut slabs, random but awesome. The new store layout is well organized. I expect to support this location for many more years as my neighborhood hardware store.

My water supply line broke. When I got there I asked the young man at the entrance where the plumbing supplies were, he pointed out the isles and I was able to get everything I needed. Best of all, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.

First of all let me say buyer beware!! I ordered online because it said they had curbside pickup. And it said they had the item I wanted in stock. So I paid and it said that I could pick up my order the same day. I waited for the email that I never received and decided just to drive down there and go ahead and pick it up inside the store. I walked in the store.and gave my order number and was told that there was none in stock even though I had already paid and the website said that they had them. So the man behind the counter said what did I use the item for.? I wasnt able to answer the question. Because its something.for my husbands work . I dont know what he uses it for. Upon that being said they said that they didnt have it. I could cancel my order or since they bamboozled me down there ( Because of course I stopped looking when I thought it was secured and paid for) . Of course a similar item was available but with all the attachments we didnt need. Well needless to say there bait and switch worked. By the way the old cashier was insinuating that since I couldnt answer what my husband uses it for it must be drugs. At that point my husband was just ready to go. The cashier also blamed the homeless for stealing and tried to tie an insult in a compliment. All the other employees were sweet and professional... One bad grape right?

Customer service is terrible at this store. I was so disappointed. The manager needs some serious customer service training. He had absolutely no patience in assisting me to find the right size plumbing supplies and was very rude. I like shopping local but not with that type of service.

Terrible store! Good products but beware of the employees if you are a person of color steer clear of this store, terrible customer service, I was racially profiled I walked in and was followed thru the store when I left I was falsely accused of stealing I produced evidence that the item in question was mine and had to call corporate to complain

I showed up at closing time and once I explained what I needed they were very good at helping me find it, First time at this store I was in and out in less than 5 minutes, great service

The best compared to Lowes and Home Depot when you want to get help or not walk 1 mile search inside a huge warehouse.

I called several local Ace HW stores looking for an outdoor dining set. Alex at the Willow Glen store answered, checked their inventory, and found the the set I was looking for. As I entered the store, Alex greeted me and found the dining set buried in their storage area. He moved 4-5 loaded pallets to get to my boxes of table and chairs. He enlisted 2 other employees to help get the very heavy boxes off the pallet and into my SUV. I cant thank Alex and the others enough for the great customer service I received.

If you come here and didnt find what you are looking for, dont bother ordering from this store. I made a mistake ordering from this store. I ordered some items on a Sunday and they told me I should get my items in couple of days. I got them in couple of weeks. I shouldve ordered from Amazon. I believe in supporting local stores. But if the local store doesnt treat their customer well, forget it. Im not coming back.

The layout is a little scrunched together but they have what I need and the employees are always very nice and helpful.

Glad this Ace reopened in Willow Glen! This Ace is really a much more pleasant experience than the bigger stores when you need a quick piece of hardware. Helpful and friendy staff always there to serve with patience. Quick no fuss check-out also.

Although I had to search to find someone to help me with spray paint... once I did they were very helpful and knowledgeable. Ace Hardware is very efficient with the use of space. Lots to choose from although from outside the store looks small. Prices are generally better than the warehouse hardware stores and you can find staff assistance here!

This is a convenient, albeit smaller ACE in our neighborhood. It carries the bare essentials, which is great for most home improvement/repair needs but occasionally it lacks some more specialty items or lacks variety and higher quality for some appliances or parts. Generally the staff is helpful and friendly but not always knowledgeable. Overall, this is a good ACE for the more small neighborhood it lies within. Its convenience gives it added points.

I just always love going to a neighborhood Ace hardware. Ive had universally good experiences at every location Ive been to on the Peninsula and in the south Bay. This location is no different: fast and friendly.

(I will avoid Home Depot completely these days as those staff go out of their way to avoid the customer). While this location is small, they cram a lot of stuff in there. Inventory low on merchandise! Customer service sucks!

Went to buy a cooler and they had a decent selection, some were $300. I found one with wheels that I liked, but it looked as if it was taken camping then returned. It was filthy and had eaten peanuts in the cup holders. When asked about it and the cost, the rude employee said no discount and once we clean it, its new again. Not returning.

Friendly neighborhood hardware store. Easy in and easy out. Had everything I needed to replace a faucet and fix a toilet water valve leak.

Had exactly what I needed.

No one knew where toilet paper holders were or paper towel holders boar the toilet paper holders were $21 102. I saw. I wanted the simple old-fashioned everyday paper towel holders either adhesive or not and no one knew where they were or if they even had them. I could not wait any longer the cashier tried to help but she could not leave her post. I ended up trying to buy them elsewhere.

Customers knew where stock was while employees didnt. Waaayyyy overpriced. Boy do I miss Orchard Supply Hardware! RIP Stanley Smith

Im so thrilled to support this Newly backfilled Ace. I frequent here weekly for; Ben Moore paint, supplies, greeting cards, propane, sanitizer, kitchen gadgets, yard sprays, plants and cleaners.

It is a neighborhood hardware store. Customer service is excellent.

A recently re-opened Ace Hardware store with a good selection. Prices are a little higher than the major hardware chains, but it is in a convenient location. The staff seemed a bit slow and unhelpful as I had difficulty finding the location of the item I was looking for and no sales people were on the floor. I went to the checkout to ask where the item I was looking for was located, and then using the directions they provided I found the item - unfortunately it was in a locked case. I had to return to the checkout to ask them to have someone with a key come with me so I could retentive the item. Hopefully, the staff will become more customer service oriented as the store becomes more established.

Their irrigation threaded fittings dont work. Their manufactured slightly larger than the industry standard.

I was extremely happy to see Ace back on this corner after Hassett Ace closed last year. Id have been happy with essentially the same store, but theyve improved the interior a bit and added even more merchandise in the same amount of space. My favorite addition is rough cut lumber in redwood, oak, etc; will be great for projects.Ill also mention that they have Blue Rhino propane exchange, as that isnt advertised on the Ace site.

This an edit of my previous post which was quite a while a go. For awhile Covid seemed to be under control and masks were no longer Mandingo ray. Then the Delta variant hit and masks were again mandated. I went to the store a couple of days ago and they had many clear sings in fron of the store that masks had to be worn. Inside the store were several unmasked customers happily being helped by store staff. So, the advise I gave still stands - DO NOT GO INTO THIS STORE if you care about social distancing during the pandemic. This is not just an issue of them allowing too many people in the store, or customers being irresponsible - the fault lies with the staff. While looking at some items, one of the Ace staff brought a couple of people into the aisle and proceeded to show them some things - standing within 1 1/2 feet of where I was standing. Needless to say, I left he store quickly, never to return..

Great store, helpful people. I like how they stock repair parts for the older post-war homes that we have in Willow Glen. Ace branded parts then to be pricey but its harder every year to find old parts. They have a fairly good fasteners drawer and some other hardware like cabinet knobs, drawer pulls, etc.

Worst customer service! Home Depot even puts them to shame!

Ive never left this store disappointed (unlike many of the big chain home improvement stores). Their employees know the store, their products, and uses like the back of their hand, and theyre willing to offer advice if asked. If you have a perplexing home improvement problem, they probably have an employee that can come up with a solution. I remember a few years ago, one of their employees came up with a solution to getting a stuck bolt off my bicycle, so their helpfulness isnt limited to home improvements. I absolutely love this store, and wish I lived closer to it.

They have some people here who actually know what they are doing and you can bounce ideas off ir better tell you what you should be doing. Seems like thats hard to find these days at hardware stores.

Small store but they have all the small needs. Even tools are good. Parking is tight.

Needed a price check. In the time it took the register worker to get another sales person to measure the pot and look up the price in the computer, one of us could have walked back a couple of aisles and checked the shelf price.
