Visited here many times over a decade+. Im not one to get a large quantity, but several or more bags of 1 or varied choices.They provide the bags, but if not using a truck, would suggest blanket and buckets to aid in the transport to limit spillage inside the car

Firstly, not much variety when it comes to rocks and then, their horrible service...the people at the front desk do not know their own materials or price. Asked him to help me out calculating how many rocks I would need to cover a specific sq.foot, the person was lost. He kept referring to a book..once told me $900, when I asked his calculation, he said he calculated wrong and now its $590...they clearly didnt know what they were speaking or being way too smart. And then another guy comes from the back office and they exchange middle fingers. I walked out..cheap, atrocious behavior by the front desk.

In A Nutshell:-South Bay Materials has been around since I was in middle-school (early 90s-ish) in San Jose.-Over the years they have provided the raw materials to make plenty of my parents homes into backyard oases.-Now that Im all grown up, they are helping me update my small home improvement projects.-The location is easy to spot, especially if you use the 87 in the South Bay.-The staff have always been very knowledgable & friendly.-Their facility is organized & have a plethora of sand, pebbles, rocks, slate, etc...to choose from.-I highly recommend coming here to see what they got, especially when you are limited in the materials at Lowes & Home Depot.-Plus the prices are very good.Overall, you dont have to be a contractor to come shop here. They will help your project - big or small look good!

We bought the stones for the drive way one year ago, at South Bay Materials. The stone quality is pretty low and the are rapidly deteriorating.We stopped by today for asking what we can do and an incompetent and arrogant guy at the desk, didnt help at all. They dont even have computers to look for our order - im wondering in 2018 how is possibile to do business without a computer, in Silicon Valley!We need to buy bark for the yard and additional stones - we will go to another place where we can get a decent customer service and someone friendly and open to help.My advise: dont buy here - you wont get any help in case of issues with your order or quality of what you bought.

Worse place ever, they didnt give my money back or paid material, I lost the reciept, bought 2 yards of compost and 50 brocks, couldnt fit it all in my truck so I had to come back, then at the second visit couldnt find my reciep. the sad looking face lady at behind the counter told me that I need it to have it... the employee who was the one who loaded up my truck was standing next to her, even said, right we owe him 50 bricks and half yard of compost. and still would she would not help me. they got evidence on hard copies plus cameras and their own employee who was willing to back me up...sad... for $70 youve lost a client thats has been coming for a while to Evergreensupply around the corner....horrible experience

South Bay Materials is a wonderful place for Landscaping materials. For example they seel top soil, mulch, and rock. They also sell working gloves, cement and other different things. Ray Figone, the owner is very nice and so are all the other employes. Come to South Bay Materials for you landscaping, youll see they have very good service. I give this store 3 thumbs up. My experience was wonderful!
