Not only are the candy prices outrageous, (which I am always willing to pay for my favorite candy), but the candy itself is old. Your literal job is CANDY. Ive been in & out, (before & now after covid), multiple times hoping for some consistency, unfortunately, this place lacks the love.
Stellar customer service, wonderful kitsch appeal. Will come back! No notes ✨
I gave it a 3 star because its a really cool store. But its so expensive we got like 10 💲 worth of candy and it costs $50. Dont go if your on a budget.
We were across Court St from SLO Sweets having Sunday dinner at the Thai restaurant and I saw the sweet shop. It looked so bright and cheery and we could see they had a big TV with slightly strange cut from Willy Wonka playing continuously. We decided to go over and have a look after dinner and it was a real treat. Smelled of sugar and vanilla and the music was a very surreal SLOSweet radio station that sounded like old Dr. Demento shows and 50s music, this was on top of the soundtrack from that Willy Wonka movie in the background. It is a surreal place, full of every candy you can imagine. I found a few candy bars that I had not seen since I was a kid and had to buy them. Got a Zig-Zag, and a Big-Hunk.I took a few of photos of the colorful items and plan to go back with by good camera for a day of shooting sweets and see if I can find some other goodies. What a fun store, good for kids and Grups. Find your favorite candy from your childhood. We were not interested in Gelato that night, but they did seem to have a nice selection. Will try some when I go back.
Amazingly wide variety of sweets as they try to offer you a little of bit of all around the world treats. Gelato was great and staff very friendly.
Selection has gone way down, prices way up. No longer at all interesting.
Holly cow! I just spent $8.00 for four tablespoons of gelato. I am willing to pay top dollar for quality and service, but this was shocking.
The prices have me like “😳 bruh...”
This place is the 2020 version of the candy store where Charlie got his golden ticket in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Something for everyone, and the staff was extremely helpful. There was literally candy for anyone... even Turkish Delights!
The bulk candy is great, but the price is off the charts. I’ve never seen a candy place charge for $30 per pound. That’s crazy!
Friendly with a good diversity of choices. Recommend stopping in for gelato after meals downtown.
Novelty candies and unique.
This is such a cute little candy store. When you walk in you can smell the aroma of vanilla and fresh baked waffles. Its a wonderful aroma. Then you notice the lovely decor. It looks like an old fashioned ice cream parlor/ candy Shoppe. It kind of looks like a Sees Candies store. They have a nice selection of chocolates, and gelato. Also a variety of old fashioned hard candies. There is a little section where children can watch Willy Wonka on a big screen TV. They can sit on old movie theater chairs. Everything is just so well thought out. This is a very lovely and fun store. I highly recommend it!!
The only think missing from this place is the flavored snoozberry wallpaper and a chocolate river!
I got one of those bags that you fill up and filled it about 1/8 of the way, my son did the same thing. We put some jelly beans, licorice and m&ms. The total for the two bags 1/8 full each was $18!!!!! I nearly had a heart attack but the bags now had mixed items in them and I didnt have the heart to refuse to pay. Ugggh. Part of this was my fault because what was I doing filing a plastic bag full of brand name candies? What was I going to do? Not good, not good.3 stars for a great location and setup but the price gouge kills it for me.
Unique flavors of gelato, candies, pez dispensers. They also have gag gifts. On the expensive side though, I imagine because of the location. Rent is probably high.
Gelato was great. Large assortment of candy and other sweets as well.
Ive had better candy from inbetween couch cushions, not to mention the fact that everything is at a minimum of x3 the price as everywhere else, not going to be giving them any of my business again
Very clean and enticing candy shop. They also serve gelato, also very good. Willie wanka and the chocolate factory gets played in the store too. There is a good selection candies and goodies
Great variety, childhood candies can be found here and there are tons of different sodas I had never heard of that sounded amazing
Decent selection, always just one staff member helping people with a huge line of people waiting
Yummy! We had gelato and it was amazing. We were able to sample flavors before hand which made picking something delicious easy!
Great range of candies, chocolates and other sweets including novelty items. The shop smells amazing too.
Great shop. The have the best gelato in town. Its authentic gelato, like the stuff youd get in Italy. Lots of candy options too. I love that they always play Charlie and the chocolate factory on the tv.
Sooo cute. Love the theme. Best candy store in town.
Great shop, well worth visiting, fudge, Gelato, tons of candy
Really tasty gelato. Super friendly staff. I was greeted and served by a very knowledgeable young man, Tantum. He explain the gelato process and difference with ice cream and allowed me to sample each kind I asked for. It was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back
Good candy store different varieties
Theyve got a whole wall of various candies that you pay by weight. Very reasonable and the selection changes regularly with some candies that stay consistent like sour belts.
Lots of cool stuff, just too expensive.
Poor customer service, too overpriced.
Willy Wonkas a weird movie
Best gelato in SLO 🍦
Cool set up but outrageous prices
Love the candy selections, fudge, gelato, sodas
