We have been very satisfied with our rental experience at Public Storage, San Pablo. Recently, Laurie helped us downsize our space and made it easy and efficient to transfer our belongings. Laurie is always just the best. Literally! She is so on top of everything there. She’s sharp, she pays attention to all details. She has a memory like an elephant, she doesn’t forget anything. I find this Public Storage to be great for several reasons. I have been able to purchase boxes and other supplies, when many other stores were low on stock. It is kept very clean and I have had great customer service from a woman named Laurie, on more than one occasion. Highly recommended.

The on-site Manager (Laurie) is great: friendly, knowledgeable and quick to offer suggestions, advice and plenty of help when you need it. She took the time to walk me to storage unit and showed me how to unlock/lock it. She also demonstrated the steps for using the elevators. There are plenty of boxing supplies available for most needs in the front office. Note: Only the large storage units have lighting inside. Bring your own flashlight.

Very easy to work with. Laurie at the front counter walked us through the process and even showed us two units so we could figure out what size we needed. Customer service was top notch. Facilities are clean, well kept, and secure. Huge shout out to Laurie and the rest of the staff for keeping things looking and running smoothly.I have two minor issues with this location, they close access very early (6pm) and you have to give your ID on the top floor to access the carts on the bottom floor. Its understandable given the location that they have to impose these rules and I dont fault the company for doing it this way, however its still a total PITA to get there by 6 and spend 10 min riding elevators to get access to the dollies/carts.

I have to give a big shout out & ten stars to Laurie, for her professionalism & business acumen. She is so friendly, she makes you want pay your bill in person. Its like you cant wait for your bills due date. Shes a remarkable lady & public storage is blessed to have her.

I currently rent out a storage unit at this location and my plan was to search for a bigger unit because I’ll be moving once again. Laurie was at the location when I stopped by to see if any bigger units was available, at that time, none were yet to be available but Laurie said she’ll follow up if any units become available. A couple days has past, I was about to call but then I received a call from Laurie stating a unit just became available in the 1st floor. I really wanted to stay in the same 3rd floor for easy relocation from one locker to another. I drove to the location just to get an idea if the new unit would be big enough and maybe considering to just take it regardless it was on the 1st floor. Once I got there, Laurie happily told me one unit just became available on the 3rd floor. I took a look of it and quickly signed the paperwork for the transfer before some else can take it. So thanks Laurie, I am very pleased with the service I received at this location and from you of course.

They raised rent every certain amount of months you have a storage for. They closed the storage on random days dening customers to there storage.

Christine has always been amazing and very helpful. Loved this storage. Prices are always low too.

I needed a unit for my furniture between moving and I was helped by Justene who was fabulous! She answered all my questions, made sure I was informed, and even showed me where my unit was and how to use my code and everything. Laurie was there and was very kind even though she didnt help me. Also was very well kept and cleaned building. Thank you for all your help!

My wife and I needed a 5X5 storage unit that was climate controlled and decided to stop by the San Pablo, CA, Public Storage office. We met with Laurie, who was welcoming and seemed excited to help get us on our way.Laurie explained she was awaiting several new renters who had made reservations online (if you need a storage unit, and PS has an opening and a good sale going on, do yourself a favor and reserve the unit ASAP), but made a few calls and when she realized the other customers would be there a little later, she decided to work us in.Laurie has a great personality and seems to really care about the facility and the customers. We were immediately comfortable with our decision to rent with this particular Public Storage office and were glad we decided to stop in.Laurie was very clear about the rules, regulations, and what their office had to offer in the way of services. Usually I have quite a bit of questions when entering into a deal like this but this time I only had one. I wanted to pay ahead of time for a few months. Laurie advised this was not an issue and proceeded to explain what would happen should I decided to terminate my month to month contract early. The entire interaction with Laurie was an extremely painless process.The building is very clean and the climate is very controlled. In fact, when I went there today, Laurie was working hard cleaning up after some savages that left trash inside the elevator and all over the floor outside of the elevator. Most anybody would be furious but Laurie was cleaning everything up with a smile and still took the time to say hello and ask how everything was going.With someone like Laurie working here, you know youll always have someone to turn to should you run into any issues. Thank you Laurie for making an already hectic day, much less hectic, with a courteous and professional interaction. I have been using this location since January, and have had the best experience with Christine. She is pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. She has been helpful every time I have been in. She always goes the extra mile to make sure all my needs are met. She thinks of everything. I wish every business I have to deal with had staff like Christine!! It would make life so much easier. Public Storage should do everything they can to make sure employees like Christine are treated well, shown and let known they are appreciated so they stay with the company.

She was very knowledgeable.The facilities were clean and the front office space was well stocked with the supplies that I will need.I will most definitely recommend this facility to others.

Came into the Public Storage location looking for advice on temporary storage in anticipation of our move. Christine was informative, friendly and knowledgeable. She showed us a couple different spaces, trying to get us the best deal for our money. She also advised us on moving supplies. This place really does have everything you need. Add in the great return policy they have for unused boxes and we were sold.

So far so amazing!First, and foremost, when my fiance and I first checked-in our person Christine was from the get-go and for always AMAZING. Shes rad. The super raddest of all the possible rad things.Second, the place itself is great: clean, neat, easy to access, all the things.Most important though, is how easy our introduction to the space and being a new client Christine made the experience for us.

The Public Storage overlooking 80 on San Pablo Dam road is awesome. Christine checked me into our unit and was fantastic. The facility is and grounds look great and having a climate controlled unit is desperately needed. I would definitely recommend this location to others.

I have used multiple public storages and have dealt with many of there employees, but I have to say the property manager Nicole here is absolutely by far the best. She is always super sweet and helpful. She goes out of her way to assist and satisfy her customers. Nicole is always polite patient and professional no matter what is going on. Ive seen Nicole in action she had a customer that was yelling at her and being rude. She also had myself and 3 other waiting not to mention the rental she was doing. Nicole never lost her cool she was AMAZING. I always make sure to go when she is working because she is the only one at that property that actually does anything and makes sure your helped and satisfied. Ive gone there when shes off and its just not the same. The other girls there are not friendly or helpful there always on there phone and most of the time the office will be locked lights off . I know I sure do appreciate it Nicole she is the best. Your lucky to have someone as talented and dedicated to her job as she is. Nicole there does the job of 2 at least this property use to always have 2 people staffed there but ever since Nicole has been up here she is always by herself and she does an amazing job and yet when shes not working there are two and the service is terrible. NICOLE YOUR THE BEST

You will not be disappointed! Clean, secure and friendly location!I had a very hectic move but my time and experience at Public Storage was wonderful. Christine is professional, calm, welcoming and its obvious she cares about this location.She was very patient and took her time explaining everything to me (several times in some cases) and when I felt like everything was falling apart she stayed calm and held me with a solution. Although my stay here was short I would definitely store here again if needed.

If you use Public Storage be prepared for rental hikes in prices often. This facility used to be very clean but people started to leave their trash and old furniture in the halls, by the steps, in or near the elevator and in the foyer, outside and by the private dumpster. The sliding glass door was damaged (broken glass) and never repaired while I was there. The door stayed opened lessening the security. Elevators and doors to the halls were locked but sometimes renters would prop open the downstairs hall door which breached security. The foyer became a place to leave junk. I dont know if the broken door was the reason but the hours had changed from closing at 9 pm to 6 pm. Which pretty much was an inconvenience to people who worked. I traveled 74 miles to find that I couldnt enter. That closing time is only convenient to those who work a night shift or dont work.Staff was polite, store stayed stocked with supplies and was neatly arranged, restroom was available, moving carts were available, two elevators were available and easily accessible. Parking was limited (especially if there were more than 3 moving trucks) however, the last time I was there, there was construction going on in the lower parking area which might be improving upon the space.

Huge thanks to Christine; she was so helpful, professional and welcoming to assist my family in setting up the storage rental. I have used Public Storage in the past and have valued their services, but this particular location and employee has exceeded my expectations. Glad to do business with Public Storage.

Christina is the current manager in El Sobrante Public Storage. I feel that it is my duty as a customer in that Public storage to write about her:1- She is knowledgeable and polite with the right answers and actions. She routinely walks around each floor to make sure the customers storage as well as customers themselves are fine.2-She is elegant, which has affected the inside and outside of the storage. Now, not only inside the storage building, but also the outside, where customers park, is clean. We know that cleaning the dirt, that some customers leave, is very challenging but she somehow manage it.3-She willing to help the client with their legitimate request. She makes customer feel that she cares.I hope that Christinas personality and job performance would be a model when the Corporate hires managers.

This is a great place and reasonable prices compare to others around. Lesea and Juanita go out of their way to be accommodating. I once forgot to put a lock on my storage and not only did they called me but out one of theirs so that my storage was secure. Thank you.

Excellent facility. This facility has a huge selection of packing supplies. The office is a beautiful showroom of bubble wrap, tape and dish packing paper. The rental process was easy and uses modern technology. My entire lease took 10 minutes. It was all done on an ipad. Sarah was helpful and carried the packing supplies to my car and helped me load them up

It was a godsend for me that Nikita was in the office today to help me. She helped me to get the best deal possible when I needed to upgrade the size of my storage unit. Nikita, you dont know how much your kind attitude and professional demeanor meant to me. Thanks a million.

Beware of Public Storage!I reserved a unit online. The next day I showed up with a rental van full of furniture expecting to have a smooth move in. The front door to the office was locked and there was no one to be seen inside. I went back to my rental truck to try and call their office but it just kept me in an automated loop, unable to talk to a real person.Finally I noticed an employee come to the front door and unlocked it without signaling me they were open. So I get out and walk in and was immediately and rudely told by the man behind the counter (Lamont) that I could not be in the same warehouse sized office with him if I wasn’t wearing a quarantine mask. I said it wasn’t mandatory to wear masks in public and I was standing more than 6 feet away. He insisted I wear a mask or I could leave. I told him I had a reserved rental unit and a rental van right outside ready to be unloaded into my new unit. He again insisted I wear a mask or he would not help me and that I could leave. Lamont offered no alternative and said I could go elsewhere to find storage as he would not help me. After much back and forth he finally relented as I had already spent time and money just getting here just to be told to go away unless I could suddenly produce a surgical mask.Finally I got to the end of the rental agreement and noticed a $25 “administration fee” tacked on to my bill. This “fee” was not mentioned on the website or was very well hidden. The old ‘bait and switch’ fee. So I was basically charged $25 to argue with a Pubic Storage employee. Fun!Lamont finally showed me to the unit I had rented. Or at least he pointed wordlessly and vaguely at a hall of roll up doors. I asked him if there were carts available to help load in and was told no, the carts were locked away so people can’t use them. I guess Public Storage didn’t want to pay to have alcohol wipes or sanitizer so no carts for paying renters. So thoughtful! So after lugging heavy furniture to my unit. I put on the padlock I had brought and got the hell out of there with an ample amount of buyers remorse.A few hours later I got a message from Lamont saying he had forgot to give me my keys and lock for my unit and I could come back tomorrow and pick them up (don’t forget the mask!!!). I called back the next day and was told I wasn’t allowed to use my padlock and was only allowed to use a Public Storage lock that I had to purchase for $21. No I would not get a refund for returning the specialized lock after using it. The lock would fit only Public Storage doors so after you moved out it was trash. Another hidden fee not mentioned on the website, sign in paperwork, or even by Public Storage employees. Another ‘bait and switch’ grift by Public Storage.Don’t EVER consider renting a unit from the scam storage chain. I was told even if I moved out the next day I would still be charged for the worthless $21 lock and $25 admin fee. Public Storage uses sleazy business tactics to drain your wallet and makes sure your move in is as unpleasant as possible.

Me any my mom came in. I’m 24. We didn’t know how to use the elevator on the first floor so we walked up to the front entrance to the Public Storage in San Pablo, CA. Danielle was the one at the front desk and my mom had met her already but I didn’t. Danielle was a blessing in the good and happy sense because she helped us understand how to use the elevator. There was just a slight error in the instructions she made copies of for the people on how to use the elevator but I was smart enough to figure it out with the aid of the instructions and she was smiling, verbal, and, very friendly to us the whole time we were clueless. Her customer service was as if we weren’t really customers but rather as if we were someone she knew for years who she does business with who are customers and I like that! I work in customer service and Danielle has that attitude and customer service that I try to have everyday at work towards customers but I don’t have it like that, although I try. She’s a cool face for Public Storage.

Excellent experience. I was overwhelmed with the storage companies in the area. I just started hitting up each one....three the first day....three the next day, etc. When I came to El Sobrante Public Storage that was it. I just made my mind up there. Clean, excellent staff, good location. Very clean grounds. Very clean storage areas. Didnt get the creeps with dirty units and bugs like some previous locations.Staff is great. Staci checked me in. Very helpful. I was on mental overload, so she didnt mind repeating all the info. Very patient. Plus I went online to reserve a spot, and the price was cheaper online so that was the clincher for me.Also Sherrie was super helpful the following day. I would recommend this company to all my friends.

Leslie and Sharika were wonderful! They were very patient and courteous with me to pay my bill which is at a different location, and their system was down. They gave many options on how I could and waited for the account to load. They resolved all my questions about my account and were so nice and friendly and professional and outstanding. I hate writing bad reviews, however, I had a really bad experience: The price was great, the sales person was friendly and the location was clean and convenient.Unfortunately, they were broken into and my unit was ransacked. I mean destroyed. Antique furniture broken, trunks thrown around and anything of value stolen. The worst part is they never even told me!Apparently someone rented a unit to get access to the facility then spent an entire night bumping locks and rummaging through dozens of units. I found out months later when the San Pablo Police called and asked if I was one of the victims. I immediately ran to my unit and found out I had been burglarized. My heart sank. They took jewelry that belonged to my deceased mother and even my fathers army medals from Vietnam!When I asked why they didnt call me they said they only called people who looked like they had broken in. This seems like they were blatantly trying to hide the break in from their customers. The police officer told me the same thing had happened within the last year.I had private renters insurance through AAA so I at least got some money back, but the stuff I lost was so sentimental and the damage so blatant that I cannot trust them ever again.

Im moving out and had no idea how many boxes I needed or what sizes to get, she was very nice and after listening to me she suggested a variety pack which included all the supplies and boxes I needed and she helped me load them into my car. I really appreciate the service I recieved here :)

The people are friendly and very helpful. The units are clean and reasonably priced. I love that they have alarms on every individual unit. I would recommend them to everyone.

Excellent facility! Clean, secure, great lighting, patrolled regularly by staff. They even called me within 20 minutes after I left the facility to let me know I had closed the door but forgotten to place the lock on my unit. Ask for Sherrie! She is the best!
