Without a doubt, the best food in town! We shamelessly planned our wedding date around when the Pack River Store was available because the most important thing to us was that our friends and family could partake in fine dining, Idaho style and be amazed by what the employees (chef, line cooks, wait staff and others) here are capable of.The food had our friends from San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas and other major metropolitan areas floored. Chef Alex makes the experience that much more enjoyable by boldly announcing each of his complex and yet equally simplistic pairings of food, one course after the next. Our guests were excited by each course and are still talking about their experience there. While having our wedding at the store was quite literally perfect, you can attend one of their tasting menus for the same mouth watering experiences. Ordering from their daily menu is also sure to please. We cant speak highly enough about this place as locals of the area.If you are reading this review to be convinced that you should make the trip out for a quick bite, stop reading, get in your car and GO! A true hidden gem in the Idaho Panhandle. We cant wait to go back again and again!

We were encouraged not to eat outside, then not to eat at all around 2PM, do to wasp. However, we did order, our food was brought out to us in to-go styrofoam containers. Regardless, the food was pretty good, they may have been short staffed and frustrated on the day of our visit, it is a nice location, service lacked. We didnt notice any wasp around.

We had the pack river store cater our small wedding this summer and everyone was impressed. We had a very eclectic group of people attending the wedding from around the globe and everyone LOVED it! Far more food than we expected (perfect for leftovers). The groomsmen were fighting over the leftover in the following days especially the seafood risotto, pepper crusted tri-tip, tirimasu, and of course the roasted eggplant!!! 😋 Thanks Brittany and Alex for the great service!

Great food (cafe and to-go) & awesome alcohol selection. Laundry room ($2+ per load), showers ($3 per person), bags of ice, snacks, coffee, candy, and freshly baked goods. Plus they sell GAS!

PRS was recommended to us from a local and we are so glad that we stopped in. Best Patty Melt I have ever had. The onion rings we light and crispy. We also ordered a hamburger with bacon and a fried egg and a side of french fries. All great!We chose to dine at one of the picnic tables under the trees next to the river and watch the kayakers and eagles will we enjoyed Northern Idaho.

Possibly the best breakfasts in the Panhandle!Alex is a true chef. As a wine aficionado, he has collected an impressive list of wines for sale, and foods that accompany those wines. Theres a small restaurant, obviously, but as a community hub, the bulletin board is always full of local info; the gas pump in front is operating for those who need a couple gallons to get into town or mix fuel for the chainsaw; the laundromat in the adjacent building serves as a Godsend when the washer or dryer is out at home; Also for sale are snacks and a small selection of pantry items so locals dont need to drive all the way into town if they need some eggs or something; Possibly the most unique thing The Pack River Store provides are floating items (ie kayaks, tubes, etc) in the summer so customers can float down the Pack River.The Pack River Store is not just a convenience store or restaurant; its an important community hub for the people of the Pack River Valley. And you will be amazed at how good the food is. This is truly a secret backwoods treasure that visitors to the area will not regret visiting!

Great little store! Our AirBnB host recommended we grab breakfast here one morning while we were in town and we are certainly glad we did. The food was great, the portions were plentiful, the staff was friendly and the homemade jelly was delicious! Really enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our coffee and food!

Beautiful dining by the river! Driving there made me wonder where in the world it was, but I have to say, I enjoyed my birthday dinner there very much! It was the best chipotle chicken sandwich and fries I have EVER had! My husband had the chicken club and enjoyed it as well. Sweet and friendly staff, beautiful river and AMAZING food! I highly recommend the Pack River store!

My Uncle Link introduced my brother and I to this store...delicious hand made food and really nice folks. A hidden gem, nestled in the lush forests of Idaho. Must visit if you are near Sandpoint.

Friday evening we had my son’s rehearsal dinner of 24 people along the river at the Upper Pack River Store! The whole experience exceeded my expectations! The tables were set country chic with linens, china, flowers, and carafes of water for refills. The refreshment table had Huckleberry ice tea along with a selection of beers and wine. For starters, Brittany brought out marinated mushrooms and beet salad. The main course was a tri tip mounted over fresh grilled veggies and one of Alex’s magical sauces! Dessert was a choice of tiramisu or cheese cake and coffee. The evening was relaxed and seamless. What a treat to be able to enjoy the celebration with family and friends with Brittany and Alex orchestrating the evening.Thank you for such a memorable occasion!

A jewel in the woods. This rustic spot puts a delicious gourmet spin on comfort food like burgers with maple bacon jam and toasted club sandwiches with avocado. We had lunch, and will be back to try breakfast!

Used to be a great place to eat and meet new friends. Now food is not as good asIt used to be and store no longer offers the country store appeal. Trying to hard to turn it into a resturant. Food isnt that good service isnt that good store doesnt sell the things it used to very dissapointed

This is like the perfect hometown store. But far more. They cook....lol understatement of the year. You see, they hire several locals to come in a couple days a week to make certain items. Like each has a few recipes they specialize in, they cook them up and set them out deli style, and convenience style and restaurant style. What ever your hearts content. And the sweets are awesome.Gas is available, propane, showers, laundromat, and river side to boot.Staff is amazing. Come a few times and you’ll feel like family.Camping? Fishing? Hiking? Got lost? Just exploring? Live off grid? Got home late? Yeah, stop in, theyll take care of you.

Its ALWAYS a great meal at the PRGS! Weve been for lunch, dinner and Easter breakfast. They never fail to impress us. Everything is made fresh from scratch and their Reuben Sandwich is hands down, the best in North Idaho. A must stop if youre ever in Sandpoint or Hope, Idaho!

No service at all. Sat for 15-20 minutes without a menu or anything. Waitress once walked by and said shed be right back and then disappeared into the kitchen, never to be seen again. We werent the only ones that got tired of waiting and walked out!

What a gem, in my wifes stomping grounds. Every time Im in Sandpoint Im stopping by here. The food is so good, just like Grandmas kitchen. Last time, I had the lasagne, fish tacos and ribs - I ordered more than I could eat in one sitting just because its all so good and I wanted some for later - I was tempted to buy even more! You get hearty helpings of good food, made for men(or women) who like to EAT. I look forward to coming back.

Great little store to pick up a few items while youre in the Selle Valley. Select grocery items, wine, and craft beer. Perfect resting stop while kayaking the Pack River. Picnic tables and indoor seating.The little restaurant serves great food in a country store atmosphere. Philly cheesestake is excellent. Fresh cinnamon rolls and other bakery items daily. The chili verde is excellent and you can get a large quantity to go if you call ahead.

Just so you know, they are actually open until 9pm every day during the Summer Season. Good food, friendly staff. Local favorite.
