Definitely a great shop for brake and light inspections and smog checks. I take many cars and have always had good service and upfront work and explanation of what is best for my cars maintenance. Good idea to call first and see how long the wait is, or what is the best time to come in before going in. I usually just call an hour or so before i want to go in and make sure they are not too busy. Service is good and good prices

I went here on January 25 to smog check my 2003 Toyota Corolla. As I drove in and parked, a man named Sayed came right up to my car and asked how he could help? I told him the car needed a smog check and he said they were available. Great! He asked me to wait in the in the office while they checked our car. The office was clean with chairs to sit. 15 minutes later, he came in and told me the car was ready. On top of that, they had great prices. Their service was great and I will definitely come back. I had to get light and brake certifications for a salvaged car I purchased. It was hard finding a smog station that was also licensed for this, but I finally found Auto Best and they were able to certify. They did the certification the same day and while I waited. I went to a brake and lights inspection for a salvage car. He knew before hand that it would not pass because one small light was off. He took my money first, then he did his inspection and failed my car. He would charge the same high amount for the re-test. I took it to a place in los angeles for a lot less money and did not fail because of that insignificant light. I think hes is just for the money.

Found this place using google because I needed a smog as well as a break and lights inspection for the car I bought. The gentleman was extremely nice, and he stayed over his regular hours to get me in, as I was the traveling from another city 30 miles away. Great experience, highly recommend, and great prices!

I have been here to get my smog check more than 6 years. Sayed, hes the man. He doesnt play game with you, just get the job done. Not a morning kind of service here but give him a call before you heading that way. He will return your call and you will able to see him there early. BTW, this center is always parked with cars, dont get discouraged. His shop is at the end and have some reserved parking spaces. So far, I havent had experience with no place to park. Excellent Service! Professional, good value, prompt, clean, and courteous. The process was smooth and easy. Needed a smog test and a brake and light inspection in a hurry. Called ahead and received a quote and set up a time for same day service. Upon arrival, Sayed recalled speaking with me on the phone and was very kind and professional. He explained the process and paperwork needed for DMV. I paid the quoted price and the job was finished in exactly 40 minutes, just as promised. He confirmed exactly what to do upon arrival at DMV to ensure registration preparation.

I came for a smog check and this is the best place to go because the price was great and the service was fast.

Definitely never pyed that much money for a smog check and on top of that I had to pay 95$ just for the guy to plug the car to the computer and tell me what was wrong. Then he wanted to charge me 1200$ to change my censors. So far I went to another garage and only paid 575$ for the two censors and oil change. Definitely dont recommend this place

Zaid is the man. Very accommodating and reasonably priced. I needed to go in for a brake and lamp inspection. I let him know that I only had 45 minutes during my lunch break and he said he can finish it up in 30-35 minutes tops. He was done in like 25. There were a few walk up customers that he assured would be attended to as soon as he was done with my vehicle. It helps to call in advance! Very happy and left to make it back to work on time. Amazing experience! I highly recommend coming here! I came 2 days ago to get a light and brake inspection for the dmv. I called to make an appointment and he said I can just come in. :) it took less than an hour and 5 lights were out. Even though it was getting late he decided to stay longer and fix my lights for me and then explain the process I’ll have to go through at the dmv. GREAT PRICES & AMAZING SERVICE!!

Don’t let their ads and phone’s quotes flattering you. You would end up spending more $. This person would find any minor things to fail your test or inspection, so you would need his repair or come back to pay for his retest and inspection. Also the time to wait is ridiculous even he knows you are waiting. Please don’t waste your time and $. Go to other places.

I had such a great experience at best auto. The gentleman that took care of my car was awesome. He was nice and respectful. The shop was very clean Unlike all the other ones in the same little strip (so make sure you go to the right one) my car was done in a good amount of time I did not have to wait long at all. I called about five different shops to see how much they charge for a smog check, some fair to others being too much but I was given the best quote here. The process was quick and I was happy to get this out of the way for the year. I would recommend this place or ask for a quote since some other shops tend to overcharge.

All the shops (I tried four) in Orange I went to wanted 60! My van is a 1998. This shop was clean, the owner was courteous, inspection was thorough, and 48.00 out the door. This is a star certified shop, and if there are things that need fixing they will tell you. Some folks just want a rubber stamp, I do to with our modified cars. But if your looking for a fair price and accurate test, I recommend this shop.

Went for a brake and light inspection. You need these to bring to the DMV to salvage title a vehicle. Auto Best did the inspections in about an hour while I waited, including the smog test which was also needed for the salvage title. I was very pleased with the service and everything went smooth with the DMV the next day. Thanks!

Quick and cheap smog check. They honored a different location smog times free retest within 90 days which I was not expecting them to do. Very honest. The owner was very polite as well.

I had a quick, easy and friendly experience at Auto Best. After having a hard time finding a place providing lamp and brake inspections, I felt relieved with the results and the price given. The inspection takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Yes they offer low prices over the phone but ones your car is in the shop .. They apply extra charges for things that should already be included...... And be prepare to wait there for 2 to 3 hrs. I recommend you to confirm the price before he touches your veicle.

Great price for brake, lamp, and smog check, incl. certs, for $123. Quick in and out. However, one must put up with owners idiosyncrasies of asking paying payment up front, balking at credit cards (but will take), and giving varying prices from one day to the next.

I went for a service frequently asked of the DMV and was given a price quote over the phone, which helped me make my decision. Upon arriving, I was asked what price he quoted on the phone to which he added another service fee on top of it. I kind of expected it based on some of the other calls I made to other shops, but feel it was dishonest to withhold that info about the extra fees until I got there. It’s a shady business tactic to lure people in with a price, then to ask for what price they themselves had quoted over the phone (just in case the customer forgot) and then to finally add the fee on top. Not only that, but his math was obviously wrong when he overcharged me by a dollar. It’s a dollar...but still.

Horrible service and overpriced. I dont recommend it to any one, unless you want to waste your time and your money.I went there for a smog inspection on 11/10/17 It took 3hrs to do it because he was taking care of other cars in between. The car did not pass the smog check and he did not refund my money or provide re-inspection for the same price unless I decided to get the vehicle fix at his shop. I was being charged 3 times what I paid for the vehicle to be fixed at a different location. So, after getting the car fix, I had to pay again for the smog check.

This guy is a thief. Buyer beware. Dont give him any cash as he is probably not reporting it being such a sheisty character. He basically robbed us and then would not complete the work.We will be reporting him to the City of Santa Ana, DMV, and to the state licensing board. As we go through this process, we will update other fellow yelpers as it is obvious this is not a one off.

Wasted my time until 11 a.m. even though the sign says Monday through Friday 10 a.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. always two hours late . Sayid charged me $20 to erase obdm codes, $25 for gas cap, $30 to put my car on lifters. charge $90 to diagnose each code there was eight codes.Sayid would not offer a flat fee these are the facts.the first car he did for me he was honest but charged I was very happy with the results. His customer service skills makes you wait while he talks to other people even though you were the first one there he takes care of them first . since cannot help mel but will led me on saying come back in 2 weeks. The same thing he couldnt help me but two weeks is critical so I came back

The place is run by liars and cheats. I went for a smog and was told I needed $320 in repairs. The two guys who were there were very manipulative and went on and on about what I needed to pass and that he just wanted to make sure it was done right. I told them no thank you, I paid for my failed smog and went to another place to again get tested and passed with no repairs, no problem. Dont go here. There are Much Better places in Santa Ana to go.

My girlfriend took her car to get a lights inspection for the DMV but before going to the shop she had firestone service the car and do an inspection and everything was good and even my brother in law checked all the lights and they where no problems, however when one of the mechanics (tall, bold,arab,skinny,guy) popped the hood and checked all the lights it turned out that none of the turn signals where working and he chargen my girlfriend 35 for each turn signal to fix, and then after theyve supposably fixed the turn signals it turned out that the license plate lights had a ripped wiress when before taking it there everything was working fine. The mechanic wanted to charge my girlfriend another 95 to fix the license plate lights. She ended up paying 250 just for lights that they where working fine before. These guys here are a total ripp off for messing up the car in order to charge more, i wish i had been there to expose these bastards, ripping people of specially because they are females, these guys are pathetic, dont do business with them.

I went in for a lamp and break inspection (75 bucks). Thinking I was going to save some bucks I ended up spending more. When Sayed inspection my car it failed due to smoke headlight and stripped studs and lug nuts. Instead of helping you pass your inspection Sayed finds anything not to pass. I always work on my car and never had my studs and lug nuts stripped and Sayed said someone used grease to force in the lug nuts with the stripped studs. I never remember using grease, I came to a conclusion that he stripped it for me to return and pay for another inspection ($40). I ended up spending over 200 bucks to have my studs remove. Dont get your break and lamp inspection here!

Was a good experience. there are 3 other smog shops in the same building, but just call and ask him what deals he can do? reduced the price in half! and pointed out things to replace in my car before they got worse. his shop is at the end of the building, dont use the other smog shops.

Friday September 4th, 2015Im in the Santa Ana area and I google Best Cheap Smog Check and Auto Best was in the top 3.Since I found an ad that said $40 smog check, I called and didnt even have to confirm, because he asked me what my car was, and told him Toyota Camry 2007 and he told me it was $60 but would make it $40. Good deal, im there.Pull up to a regular mechanic lot full of cars, and Auto Best is on South Harbor in the back right, parked in one of the 3 reserved parking spots.A customer had just left, and I pulled up perfect timing at 11:15am.Was nice to meet Sayed, seems knowledgeable and was quickHe did the smog check plus an inspection for $40 in less than 15 minutes.I am happy as can be.Im noticing a pattern on the reviews. You either love em or hate em.This is because I think most people who search for cheap smog are cheapskates and get offended by being upsold.

I chose Auto Best for a smog check and certification because they offered the lowest price for the service compared to other smog stations. Sayed, the manager, was professional and courteous. I waited a reasonable amount of time and Sayed assisted me further with the paperwork when my car failed the smog test.Sayed provided all the required paperwork so that I could make the repairs to my car. When I brought my car in for repairs, Sayed personally drove me home. I was told it could possibly take a week to get my car repaired.
