They have three areas of registers and they always only seem to have one of them open. The line goes all the way from the front to the back of the store and wraps around. But there are plenty of employees roaming the floors. I’ve worked in retail at the cash register and we would always rearrange our positions to ensure the lines never got this bad. Seems like the cashiers were getting through one customer every 5 minutes… Not to mention when I got to the front of the line for a RETURN the cashier made no apology for the long wait. I waited in line for over 30 minutes. Also, because the line, it at least THIRTY people, wrapped to the front door the security alarms kept going off because people had items they were trying to purchase.

Worst Zara I’ve ever been to. Zero stock. More than 50 minutes in line to buy a pair of jeans, fitting rooms are closed, only 2 cashiers for the whole store… where is all the staff? And then someone comes and say their system is off and they prefer a cash payment… awful experience.

I am giving this one star review to the store manager of this San Jose Zara store, you should resign and do something else because this is the worst Zara I’ve ever been in my life by far and I’m a regular Zara customer. You only and only open one register area although you have a man’s and kid’s, even in busy hours and make people suffer in these long lines. You don’t have right to do this. Not only this, but this is also the 3rd time in 3 weeks I find changing rooms are closed. Why on earth I would come to store if I am not allowed to try clothes? And the staff tells me then go buy online. How professional is that? There’s no other store in the shopping mall like this with this bad customer service I tell you. Anyways if worldwide Zara doesn’t have enough money to treat their customers well and hire more employees and keep those lines and changing rooms open in Silicon Valley California, I don’t have anything to say. Poorly managed! Clothes may be cute but it will literally take you an hour to make purchase and god forbid (because dressing rooms are closed) you have to return/exchange, that’s another hour (minimum!) standing in line! Horrible! Someone needs to be fired!

The slowest checkout in the world! Huge lines at all times! Bad customer service. Cashiers dont care, they act as if theyre doing you a favor. They dont wear nametags, but from what Ive seen theyre all equally slow and careless. I dont ever want to come back bc I dont have all day to spend in line of a Zara store. Worst zara EVER! Expect to wait in like for over 45 minutes every single time. They never have enough staff. And they have 3 separate areas for registers that’s at min 6 registers they could have open. But they almost always only have 2 open. It’s awful. The company makes enough money to support all 6 registers being open, dude. Waiting in line for almost an hour is NOT okay.

By far the worst Zara in the entire world. No cash register works except for 2 downstairs, this has been happening for weeks now, so the lines are unbearable. The store is in a chaotic disarray, and the lack of fitting rooms, make things even worse because people are constantly having to come back and return items. It is a complete nightmare

I had the worst experience there today. Seems they decided to stop giving customers shopping bags. So I had to carry everything I want to buy. If that wasnt enough, there was a huge line in the checkout. The whole store was a mess. Clothes on the floor and no employee to talk to if you have questions. Im only sorry I didnt leave without buying. I dont intend to come there again

I don’t understand why all the staffs get the same pay but 3 female staffs upstairs just standing around and gossiping while all the workers downstairs working nonstop with the longest line in the world???I saw the sign “PURCHASE LINE ONLY” but the female staffs upstairs refused to serve us. When we went back upstairs we saw them serving other customers. Wth is that??? It’s ridiculous !!!

This place has no fitting rooms. You have to buy and come back if things don’t fit well. I had to buy items; go to the food court restrooms to try them on. The only register working is downstairs. Huge inconvenience, and on top of that I asked 3 employees working upstairs for help and I was met with such negative attitude and snappy answers. Not one employee greeted me as I walked in.

The management of Zara should be ashamed of themselves. The line to the cashiers wrapped around the whole store and THIS IS ALWAYS HOW IT IS. Zara does not care about the customer experience, not at all. The reviews noting the excruciatingly long lines goes back years. It’s always been my experience at Zara and it’s not because they have too many customers. You can go first thing in the morning and there will be a long line at the register and no one is shopping, everyone just waiting in line. Shame on you, Zara, for your horrible, repugnant attitude towards customers.

I have been zara’s customer for my entire life and in the past few months I changed my opinion about it!! Only 3 cashiers for all 3 departments!!! You have to wait 45 minutes minimum to do a return or a purchase. Extremely annoying. No fitting rooms are available so all you can do is to buy clothes, go home or another store to try on and then come back and stay in line for 1 extra hour to return!! Horrible!!

Customer service is horrible. Waited in line at for 20mins and told me to go to mens department for pick up. This is my first time visiting the store and idk the locations. Idk where mens department is. She could have told me upstairs or 2nd floor, instead very rude keeping saying mens department over and over. There is no sign that online pick up is upstairs. Very disappointed.

Lines are so long. I had to wait a minimum of 20 minutes in line. Return policy is unbelievable and not-at-all flexible. The store is very messy. Staff is not flexible with their return policy with their return policy which is frustrating. Also, instead of helping customers and finishing the purchase or return, the employees stand around and talk to each other. Very annoying. Probably won’t shop here anymore. 🙄

Waited in line an hour with my girlfriend. Think about how slow the sloth is from zootopia, thats how fast they check people out. Dressing rooms closed which is understandable, but when we went to return we had to wait in line another 45mins. They double charged us instead of refunding after we made it clear this was a return, had the receipt and everything.

This is mainly for the service. It is not acceptable to provide such a slow and inefficient service, specially during the pandemic! This is my second attempt to return cloths. The mall was empty except for Zara, there was a one long line for both poeple aiming to shop and others to return. With the pandemic, more people are buying online with the aim to be able to return what doesn’t work. The purpose of buying online is to minimize contact. So, there is a problem here, either serve at a faster rate, hire more employees, make a line specifically for returns only; do something about it!

Every other store has opened their fitting rooms except zara. During sales clothes are all over place, even some on the ground in this location. During weekends it gets so busy, but they have only one cashier. So you have to wait on the line for 1 hour.

Literally the worst customer service ever. I went to return some clothes I purchased online. The line to get into h the store was long. And when I actually got to the cash register after standing in the line for 45 min, the cashier took 20 min to do my return. She would take each piece of clothing, and then fold it, put the magnetic pin thing on the clothing and arrange it on the hanger. She repeated this for every piece of clothing (nearly 10 items) while I was standing there waiting. The whole ordeal took me over an hour. Please save yourself from this and send your returns by mail.

Zara is one of a handful of stores with reasonable prices in clothing. I experienced my first purchase in Mexico and I loved it. One of the best stores overall. I am very pleased with every purchase I have made so far. I really recommend this store if you are looking for quality. My whole family loves this store. Thumbs up. I have an 11 year old girl and all she wants is to dress up with Zara clothing. Its a diverse store. Zara has clothing for men, women and children. Just great!!!!!

Great price point for clothing! Employees need to be more cognizant about the deep line forming at checkout line and jump in and help, instead of talking out Saturday evening plans, especially when there is only one person at the cashier desk. Its all about customer service, and just that.

Zara is a medium-high fashion store with well designed pieces. Theyre also a well known designer store, but dont be intimidated. Good for basics, coats, professional wear, but also plenty of nice textures. I really like all their fabrics and its high quality. Expect to spend $40-$60 for a shirt/longsleeve. $150-$200 for coats. $50 for pants.I avoided Zara for the longest time due to class intimidation, but now that I have decent taste and some money to spend on a nice piece, Zara is my go to for inspiration & quality at the least. (Especially if you FEEL low class, it does kind of raise your confidence in nice subtle ways)Probably wont ever go to any lower quality clothing shops, as Zara raised my expectations for quality and well designed pieces :) and thats coming from a young aspiring professional.

This store is a hit or miss for me. There are occasions that I will walk in and buy several things, or I wont. The items are constantly changing, which is good. And the pieces are affordable. The kids clothing section is great, because my kid does not like to wear what everyone else is wearing. The lines are always long, like always. And their upstairs register is never open. Unless if you walk over to the mens section.

BEWARE OF SHOPPING ONLINE WITH ZARA!Their online customer service is disappointing! And its an absolute mess during the holidays. I returned a skirt that didnt fit and they refused to refund my purchase. They claimed that it was not received at their warehouse but Im fairly certain they lost my shipment and will not take responsibility.Please take caution, and take photos if you do return your items online. Their service is incredibly slow to respond and do not truthfully reply.My first purchases with Zara back in 2010 were amazing but Ive only seen their quality go down. I guess thats expected with a fast fashion retailer. I hope Zara can one day fix their nightmarish system!

The only Zara in the bay area (as of June 2014) aside from San Francisco, the Valley Fair location is adequate to find an outfit for work, play, and even the beach. There are 2 levels, including departments for women, men, and children - so a wonderful, moderate cost, modern one-stop shopping spot for those on the go. I love the accessories that pair effortlessly with the outfits, just like in Spain.

I usually love the clothes in this store and that’s what I’m basing my review on. Also the prices are reasonable. I see a lot of comments about the rude customer service, although I’ve never experienced it firsthand. I’ve never actually talked to anyone in this store except when they’re ringing me up. Maybe that’s another sign of bad customer service, but I prefer to be left alone so it works out for me.

The store was a hot mess. Nothing was hung properly, things on the floor. I waited in the line downstairs until the cs rep noticed I was waiting for an in-store pickup and directed me upstairs. Upstairs, I waited in the line until that cs told me to go to the changing room to pick up my order... The whole point was for it to take less time. This took about half an hour. Now Im grumpy.

I simply asked to speak with the store manager, then I was on held for 10 minutes, during which the operator kept checking back briefly (without saying a word) as if waiting for me to hang up. Finally, without any apology, she hang up on me! If your customer service is this bad, why even set up a phone?

Unhelpful staff that can not deliver what their online customer service promised.I made a purchase last year and just found out that the smart ink isn’t removed. I have no receipt but I do have bank statement proving the purchase. Online customer service promised that they can remove it for me as long as the bank transaction record is there. Went in store, the store refused to do so and to offer any additional help.So because of their fault now I end up with a 100USD jacket that I cannot wear and a wasted trip to the mall. I observed extremely poor resource managment potentially resulting in thousands in loss revenue. Women have two large sections of the store, but have only one small fitting room. There were mens and childrens fitting rooms sitting almost completely unused. Any time someone tried to use them, they were told to go an wait in the 15 minute line downstairs. Many of the customers just put their clothes down and left.The smart thing to do would have been to allow women to use these empty dressing rooms, but if a man or child came up, halt the womens line and let them go. That way you use all of your available resources and minimize customers simply walking out. The line problem was exacerbated by women seeing the line and bringing double the clothes in with them because they knew it would be a long time to get back in.So you lost revenue from women leaving. You lost worker time from them having to pick up all of the clothes left by frustrated customers. All of this could have been minimized by properly managing the available resources.
