This place another name ... Bangalore Cafe. Along with regular South Indian fare, this place also serves classics from the southern state of Karnataka. They also have a wife selection of homemade sweets and savories, with their Maddur Vada topping the charts for me. Of course they also serve real ice cream, mainly Indian flavors like kesar, Alfonso, paan etc.Its a sit down cafe with self service. Dont expect great ambience, but its quiet and comfortable. People usually come here for a quick bite and to pick some snacks. There is no restroom inside the cafe but they have one outside which I believe they share with a nearby car wash. So best to avoid that.My personal favorites are their masala dosa and Maddur Vada. Theyve been in this location for more than a decade and the quality hasnt gone down a bit.Im giving there stars because for a sit down restaurant they dont have the ambience that deserves a 4 or a 5. But their food is definitely 5 stars.

The only place we can get masala puri and Congress kadlekayibeeja that we know of here in the Bay Area. Very tasty Badam milk and a variety of desi flavor ice creams.Yumm!

Hard to find in the mall but ice cream was really good. This was a part of Indian restaurant? or cafe? and I couldnt read half of the flavors in the case. I recommend this place.

This establishment has been around for decades. I have been a customer since 1987! The ice cream is unique - egg less - with choice of exotic flavors.Authentic Indian street food menu is elaborate and... Authentic! Mouth-watering! Papdi-chat, Dahi-batata-sev-puri, ragda-pattis, oh I should stop or Ill have to visit them now!Their Southern Indian cuisine menu is yet another gastronomic exploration! All vegetarian - youll never even notice the absence of meat! Dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, each to die for!I came back, added pani-puri picture! (12/18)

Love the Dosa and Pav bhaji

While they are famous for their kulfis and ice cream, If you want a slice of Bangalore(bisibele bhaath) and Bombay(pav bhaji) look no further. You will get items like maddhur vada that you will find nowhere else. Its a small unassuming place, perfect for a quick bite.

Loved the Bisibelebath, Samosa chat and of course the vegetable puff. Reminded me of the time back home when we used to go to Iyengars bakery and eat these yummy stuff. Glad to have such a place in the Bay Area.

This review is about the ice creams only! Nice selection of desi flavors. The ice cream itself has a little more overrun compared to premium ice creams but they were very consistent with the texture. Some nice bold flavors - my favorite was the paan. Other good ones include tutti fruity, sitaphal, mango, guava. Service and ambience is typically desi too :-) .. i’d have been wary had it been great. They’ve got a good product- they’re not out to win hearts with their service. Don’t come in expecting stellar service.

Try all the homemade kulfi flavors. A bit pricey for the quantity of kulfi.

Mawa Malai kulfi is the best

The overall ambience is okay. Their falooda is not of great quality; I have had better falooda at other Indian restaurants. The owner is downright rude and grumpy; this irked me when I came here. The masala puri was not that great and does not taste like the masala puri in Bangalore. Even though the food is of mediocre quality, I would never come here again because of the trashy customer service. I don’t even know how this cafe is making business.

Very confusing name. very bad rava dosa and Mysore masala dosa.. not at all near to any dosa available in namma Bengaluru(Bangalore)coffee was okay though.

My first experience was okay and thought I found a decent and affordable south indian place. Tried Vada pav and puffs. Though vada pav tasted blunt, I liked the puffs.However, subsequent two visits revealed the true color of this place.* Worst Customer Service ConsciousnessWhen asked about mixing two flavors, the guy (I guess he is the owner) scorned and said he doesnt mix the flavors and I need to get an additional cup.Uninviting sign that says you break it, you pay it. If someone could break a plastic container, why keep in in the middle of dining hall?* Stale FoodI have inquired about the hot vadas sign and asked if they are hot now and got an affirmative answer from the girl at the cashier. I had 2 sets of vada. Apparently the vada is stale, I could tell the moment I tasted it. They were simple reheated in a microwave oven. The coconut chutney is already spoiled.Bought of a box of tutti frutti to take it home. They are stale, too probably in the display for months and had to throw it in the trash.If you are looking for indian ice cream fravors, try Nirvana a few blocks away. Their ice cream is fresh and the people there smile.

Try typical bangalore dishes like Set Dosa, Rava idly, Maddur Vada, Thatte Idly. Chaat is not great.
