I am mechanically inclined when it comes to repairing the multiple BMWs in my household, but when there are certain repairs I cannot tackle or just simply lazy to do. I would take my BMWs to German Auto. In years past, the former owner/mechanic was awesome. I realized that there are new owners and new mechanics. I have to admit, they are just as awesome as the previous ones. The woman (sorry I did not catch her name) behind the counter and over the phone is so nice and friendly. Very professional and helpful. If I need any repairs for my BMWs. I wii definitely take them to German Auto. Thank you so much.

Elizabeth was the sweetest over the phone and very knowledgeable about cars. The owner was very attentive and detailed about my cars issues. Very fair pricing and absolutely the best customer service Ive ever experienced... I highly recommend German Auto for your cars repairs...

Great Service, Great People!I had not visited German Auto before, but I needed a shop with Mercedes expertise. I was thrilled to be directed to German Auto. Not only did they take care of my mechanical issue promptly (and with friendliness and a smile, which is not always the case) they were most helpful and willing to answer my questions and explain the entire process in a candid manner. The technician working on my vehicle, and Elizabeth at the front desk, were very informative, helpful and most courteous, and they immediately made me feel like family. It was a joy to work with them, and their transparency gave me no misgivings that I normally feel when entering a shop with my vehicle. I will definitely go to them in the future, and I highly recommend them. It is refreshing to find a shop that you do not strike off your list after your first visit, but look forward to visiting again.

Everytime i come to german auto they have the best customer service you can ask for! Elizabeth at the counter wastes no time on making you feel comfortable and at eas with whatever is going on with your vehicle.. they attend quickly and their staff is knowledgeable with any endeavor you throw at them! I wont go anywhere else!

German Auto provides great customer service. John the mechanic always takes the time to explain exactly what is needed to repair my car in a way I can understand. They offer shuttle service which helps me get to work after I drop off my car. Elizabeth is a great shuttle driver. She is also great at providing estimates. I wouldnt take my Benz anywhere else❣

Elizabeth and John are the best their rates are always fair reasonable. If my car has had to be there a week John has always gotten it back to me in 3 or 4 days. Thats a whole day and half of labor you dont pay. And with BMWS any little bit counts wouldnt you say BMW Owners you know what Im talking about maintenance? 🤪 They do a excellent job and their work ethic is outstanding ! Keep up the good work! They have been my auto shop for 8 years as long as I have been In Santa Maria. The other auto body shop that works on German cars wont mention no names. Dont be a woman cause they will charge you double cause they think we cant possibly know anything about cars? My father made sure for that reason I learnt the basics as a kid. They didnt know that and tried to charge me a pretty penny to change a battery and told me to return the battery I bought at auto parts for 155 they didnt know. But hed sell me one for 240 can you believe that? So please John and Elizabeth are your best bet. They sit and explain it to you if you dont know but dont make you feel any less cause you dont. The atmosphere is wonderful refreshments while you wait if you like and waiting area is nice and comfortable with their beautiful dog who greets you with a Friendly bark.Beautiful dog! German Auto is the way to go for German cars.!!

Half the cost of the dealer! And to top it off great attitude and communication. Great to have a go to Independent shop that can service these complex vehicles.

Shop did a great job on my BMW, two big jobs which took a few days each but the car runs great. Thanks John and Staff for a great job and outstanding customer service. Ill be bringing my car back for service when its time.

Very smart guys in there who know what theyre doing. I had some bushings that needed to be replaced, and they were able to order the part, have it delivered and do the job all in one day. Car drives great now. Great customer service, and they are surprisingly affordable as compared to the dealer, the work is just as good though.

I took my VW westfalia van into German Auto to have the engine rebuilt after receiving what seemed a reasonable quote for the repair. I had the engine diagnosed at another shop prior to bring it in and it showed low compression in two cylinders. I was told by German auto the compression was fine and they would perform some treatment for possible stuck valves. After $900 in diagnostic charges they confirmed the engine did have two bad cylinders. I brought this point up with the owner and service rep and the told me they were trying to be heroes...Well Im out $900 before any work to repair the problem was even started, so they turned out to be zeros in my mind. No offer of refund was made even after pointing out that I told them the problem before work was started. I found this same complaint from someone else who had taken a vehicle here for a repair.Living out of the area I arraigned a pick up on Saturday after a new engine was put in the vehicle. When I picked up the van it would not shift into second gear and was barely running. I was told the vehicle was ready when picked up? The following week the most of the problems were resolved, but I was out 5 vacation days due to their poor work.Additionally the front grill was broke, the exhaust was mounted touching plastic bumper parts, oil and grease were not cleaned up inside the vehicle, and an alignment problem I had paid to repair was not done properly.Considering the very high price I paid for the repairs, I will never have work done at German Auto again, and would advise people to avoid this shop.
