When I bought my car, it was during the shortage of inventory. The Santa Monica Subaru team did not gouge me, did not pressure me and made me feel safe buying a car with them. They were straightforward with me and explained that due to the low inventory they cannot reduce the price and I understood and I obliged. The manager, Brian, Was very patient and was very nice. He made everything very easy and was very generous.

I made an appointment with the understanding that I could wait for the car. However, upon arriving, I was told it would take most of the day. Probably a staff shortage or the car needed more attention than I was told. Luckily, I had someone waiting for me. Had to change plans for the day. Too bad.

This was the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. Expect the sales reps to lie to your face and disappear once the car has been delivered. I have purchased a certified used Forester that had scratches going all the way through the paint and to the metal. Subaru vehicles that are driven in rough conditions (as per Subaru guidelines that includes city driving) are subject to differential fluid change every 30k miles.Despite all the above, my vehicles certification list reported the lack of any scratches as well as the completion of all due service. After arguing with the sales rep and service I had to bite the bullet and pay for the service out of pocket.During the service an issue was discovered and the rep. suggested me to have it repaired. I have agreed to the repair and, although the car is well within the warranty period Subaru tried to charge me for the repair. The lack of competency, honesty, and decency at Subaru Santa Monica blew my mind. I will keep servicing my vehicle at a different dealership and I will probably trade in my current vehicle for a Toyota in the near future.

I was floored by how rude, unprofessional, and inappropriately the manager acted. I came in with an advertised financing deal. They acted like everything was all set and then randomly tried to massively increase the APR without saying anything. When I called them out they claimed it was a “mistake” and apologized. Then they randomly increased the sticker price by $2k. When I called them out for that, they claimed the original price never existed. When I said I wanted the see the actual sticker on the car, they had taken it off and it was obvious they had physically cut the paper with scissors to exclude the price. The manager, who is apparently one of several in recent months, repeatedly removed his mask (as did the sales associates), gaslit us, and treated us with no respect. They blatantly tried to rip us off several times and if I’m being honest, we would have been willing to pay the new price if they had just treated us with respect, but I am horrified by their lack of professionalism. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy. Needless to say, we walked.

This is the worst Subaru dealership in the country. They have had 6 general managers in 12 months. And 8 finance directors. They filed my loan paperwork 5 months late and as a result have ruined my otherwise wonderful credit rating. NEVER DO BUSINESS with this company. They are equal parts incompetent, unhelpful and dishonest. You have plenty of options for Subaru in Southern California. For that matter, you have plenty of options for other brands of cars that wont come with the process of destroying your credit rating. @TryHonda.

I havent had a good experience at any Subaru dealership in socal. I think there is just too many customers for them to even try to provide decent service, theres too much money to be made elsewhere. Im not sure thats necessarily any individual dealerships fault but it still results in just rushed, uncaring experiences. Try to simply call them about anything at all - its totally normal to have to call 3-4 times before getting to speak to anyone. Getting a hold of anybody at all much past 5 is a total crapshoot. Theres an option to leave a message but they wont call you back so theres really no point. In store its more of the same, expect to stand around waiting a lot for no super clear reason and when you do finally get someones attention youve got to be ready to fight a bit to get your entire issue resolved right then and there otherwise your problems will be quickly forgotten about. Subarus themselves are great, Subaru of America is great. But if anything will tarnish your perspective on Subarus its the dealerships.. Whatever you could possibly want from one of these dealerships, whether sales service or parts, can be done better faster & cheaper elsewhere. Buy used from a 3rd party and have it inspected by an independent Subaru mechanic. 9 times out of 10 these guys are more competent, upfront & less expensive then the dealership techs themselves. If you need parts youll get them faster/cheaper at SubaruOnlineParts or even Amazon.

Im very unhappy! I took my 2017 WRX into Subaru Santa Monica In March to have a factory recall service done. The service was to check and tighten 6 EPF nuts. The car was purchased new, and Ive had it for four trouble-free years. When I got the car back from Subaru Santa Monica, the driver side seat had a crushed left side support cushion. It appears that the foam cushion inside had somehow been damaged or compacted. The problem was obvious as soon as I got the car back, and the seat was uncomfortable. It was not like that when I took it in for the service! When I went back and talked to service manager John Castro, he said we dont do upholstery and suggested Id have to figure it out myself. Im a college student, pay my own bills and cannot afford to pay to have someone else fix a problem caused by the dealer. Im very unhappy with what happened and feel like Ive been given the run-around.

Took my car in because the AC was shutting off while driving on the freeway. They held the car for three days, not once calling me to give me any kind of update. On the third day, after they told me they couldnt diagnose the problem - yet Id still have to pay 200$ for the work - I showed up to pick it up... to find that my car REEKED OF WEED. Whoever was either working on it or took it home to try and trigger the AC shut off, clearly HOTBOXED my car. In addition to the 200$ FOR NOTHING I had to get a car wash the next day to get the STINK OF WEED out of the car.Oh, and when I took it to an independent service shop soon after, it took them all of 20mins to suggest flushing/recharging the AC, which seems to have fixed the problem completely. Thanks a bunch Subaru Santa Monica! Nothing like paying 200$ to get my car STUNK UP ON WEED after not having a car for three days!

Oof. That’s really all I can say. The LA Car Guy Subaru dealerships are ones to avoid.Shout out to Becky the service advisor— she’s been amazingly helpful. None of this should fall on her. The rest of the place, however, is.. well, oof.Their phones have been broken for months. They know about it, but have taken no action to fix them. The only way to get a hold of service is to call sales and have them transfer you. My record is about 20 calls, three voice messages, two written messages… all unanswered until I finally just showed up in person. If you book online, your appointment might not actually register in their system. The services are absurdly expensive— $130 for an oil change? And I’ve gotten my car back in worse condition than when it started… after they lost it for a day. Came in for an oil change, left with a broken Starlink system. Returned and they said it was a software update and to leave it with them. Couldn’t get a hold of them for 18+ hours. When I arrived in person after giving up on the phone, only sales remained. Sales couldn’t figure out how to operate the system of service vehicles. No one knew where my car was. They gave me a rental finally, but we’re extremely rude about it. I asked when I needed to return it, the guy said, “I don’t know. I’m sales” with more attitude than I can put in words. And the manager is just largely inappropriate— in his attempt at small talk, he commented on my appearance and body.Recently reluctantly dropped it off for a recall— and still couldn’t get a hold of them for pickup time. After calling sales to be transferred, they told me it would be ready at noon because Saturdays are busy… but I dropped it off at 3 yesterday.Overall I won’t be returning if I can help it. I wouldn’t even bother, if I were you. Find an independent or a place not owned by LA Car Guy. (Subaru of the Pacific is not any better.)

Ive noticed a growing trend where Dealerships carry a pathetically small array of parts to support repair work. 90% of the parts that most customers cars require actually need to be *S*P*E*C*I*A*L* Ordered. But this only is necessary because inventory (of Parts) is a dirty word in the Parts Managers Strategy. And when you MUST Special Order parts for a current Subaru, there are NO Returns allowed, even perfect parts in the original/sealed bag/packaging. Of course customers are never thrilled WAITING 3-4 business days for an ordered Part. But lately it is apparent that Waiting for ORDERED Parts is the customers gripe or burden with no remedy in sight.

I test drove the Forester and the Outback at Subaru Santa Monica. MARIA CERCEDA was AMAZING!! I told her I was thinking about the Forester or the Outback and was undecided. She was happy to show me the different car models, pointed out features and suggested that I test drive them. She answered all my questions fully and gave me her card before I left in case I thought of anything else. She is extremely well verse in the different car models. I went into Subaru Santa Monica not knowing what car I was going to get and I left Subaru Santa Monica loving the Outback.A week later, after a lot of searching for the right price, I ended up coming back to the Santa Monica dealership and buying my Outback. I could not find a better deal elsewhere! Since Maria was not a salesperson, she connected me to Joey Boktor. Joey did not try to pressure me into something different than what I initially came in to buy. I did not spend too much time with him though I appreciate that he kept his word on our agreed price via email. Great people (especially Maria!), prices and service.A few days after my purchase, Maria checked in to see how I am liking my Outback. Buying a car is a big purchase for me, so I appreciate the follow up.Bottom line: I had a very pleasant car buying experience at Subaru Santa Monica. If I had to do it again, I would call up Maria first thing.

I had to bring my car here for a service during the pandemic, I had planned on waiting for my car but they failed to space seating out so that people waiting were able to social distance and they were not enforcing masks being worn indoors at all times - the seating area had a gentleman sitting there in the middle, without a mask and multiple employees were walking around without masks. I sat there for 5 minutes but did not feel like it was safe to sit there any longer so I had to wander around the area attempting to find somewhere I could wait that felt safe. I was disappointed that they were not taking the current health crisis seriously for their clients, there was plenty of space to have done so and plenty of govt guidance on how to make your business as safe and clean as possible during this time. Very disappointed.

Ive always had a good experience with Subaru Santa Monica until recently. I took my car in for 60,000 service which costs over a thousand dollars and have been extremely disappointed with the service since I got home.I dropped my car off the morning of 7/31 at 7:40 AM. Upon arrival, it appeared that the appointment I booked online wasnt in their computer system. I showed my confirmation email and they were able to accommodate me. I mentioned that my low tire pressure light was on and that I had a coupon for 10% off the service. The gentleman helping me said no problem, they would check the light and that hed enter the coupon. I received a call in the afternoon that everything was fine with my car and it was time to pick it up.While in the lobby waiting for someone to help me, I overhead a technician telling another customer there was a nail in his tire but to hold tight so he could find out his options. When I was called up to the window to picked up my car, I asked if everything was okay with my vehicle. I was assured yes everything was fine and that my brakes and tires still had a lot of life left on them. I was told the total and then asked if my coupon had been applied. It hadnt been but the person ringing me up went ahead and entered it. My partner was with me, she was my ride to the dealership, and witnessed all of these things as well.Once home, I read over the paperwork I was given at checkout and see a note that said nail on front left tire. At no time did any one mention this to me when I was called to pick up my car and when I actually picked it up. I was allowed to drive over ten miles home and on the highway with a large nail in my tire. I called and left a message for the service department at 4 PM that day. I then chatted with a service agent in an online chat on Saturday morning who told me someone would be in touch. It is now Monday 8/3 in the early afternoon. I have yet to receive a call or an email from the dealership. Id like to discuss my options for the tire and whether it can be patched and plugged or if I need to replace the tire which really means replacing more than one. I am disappointed in Subarus lack of care for something that could be extremely dangerous. It is extremely unprofessional that they made such a large error and have yet to get back to me. I paid a large amount for the service I received and am now left wondering if the maintenance performed was done with any level of care or accurately.

Been to Subaru Santa Monica half a dozen times, service is usually ok but they seem very short staffed now - especially since it wasn’t that busy.To be fair, I did not make an appointment (they seem to encourage walk-ins per their mail and email ads). Also transmission fluid was going to be $350, coolant $250. The car has a dent on the drivers door which wasn’t visible since it was night time since they took long with paperwork. I traded it in a 2010 Ford Mustang and only got 2,500 out of it. Customer service says they’ll get back to me when they’re available all the time and they never call me back. Enrique is the biggest liar there, he stated that the interest rate would be 10% I had told him that’s way too high for me and said it’s because of my age and no one else would take me. I come to realize that I didn’t see that the interest rate was 12.08% I should not have trusted them and should’ve looked at those tiny numbers carefully. But the fact that it wasn’t the same as what they told me is shocking. They are untrustworthy and unhelpful, it shouldn’t be this way. Now I know why I was the only car they sold that day...

Subaru Added Warranty Refund Nightmare,JUST DO NOT BUY EXTENDED WARRANTYKnow that I waited a really really long time before I left this review...I sold my 18 WRX at the end of February 2020. I visited the dealer in-person and requested my Subaru Added Security warranty to be cancelled. I was told that it could take up to 6 weeks for my check to be mailed to me. Its been 7 MONTHS now and I still do not have my refund! The level of unprofessionalism presented by this dealer is outrageous. I didnt contact them during the first month. About the 5th week I emailed and phoned requesting a status and heard nothing back. Same for the 6th and 7th week, nothing!I finally contacted Subaru Corporate and complained and was contacted by Linda Allen, business manager, who informed me that they sent the check and it was cashed around 15 days prior. I informed them that I didnt receive anything from them let alone a check nor did I cash any checks as I was calling in to ask where is my refund. They sent me a photocopy of the signed and cashed check which was NOT even close to my signature. They started a fraud investigation with the bank and Linda told me they cant issue another check until they get their money back.At some point I learned that Linda is no longer with the company and I was put in contact with Reina Perez at which point I had to explain the situation all over again. After speaking twice on the phone, no different course of action has been taken and the level of customer service has not improved as I am still waiting for them to sort things out with the bank.Fast forward, its almost October, so over 6 months and I still dont have my refund, this is unacceptable!Fraud committed against the funds that Subaru owed to me is their responsibility, they should be the ones waiting to get their money back when they work it out with their bank, not me!This level of customer service should uphold their responsibility to the customer and refund the money knowing they will get their money back from their bank and do right by their customer in the mean time.

The majority of the mechanics I saw all wore their masks under the nose. There wasn’t a sense that anyone was in charge supervising workers to all be on board and there appeared to be total disregard for the safety of the customers. Finally when my car was ready, I paid my bill and was not told where to wait to pick up my car. Two other customers waited at the street entrance like in the past, and finally after a long wait, one customer found out that we had to go to the back lot to pick up our cars from yet another employee with mask below the nose. There was no evidence that the serviced cars were being sanitized after servicing. Will stay away from this place.

The car also naturally drifts left into oncoming traffic if you take your hands off the wheel. They wont let me get out of the lease and even tried to convince me that it doesnt drift when it clearly does. The office coordinated very efficiently to convince me that I was either seeing things or that this is normal.I dont have time to complain to the Zone office or find a lawyer and use the Lemon Law, although Im considering it. I could also transfer the lease but thats a whole thing. So, for now Im just giving them a one star out of spite.

I genuinely believe I found salesmen who hold themselves in high regard and take their customer relations seriously. Wonderful guys, theyre a killer combo!Looking forward to seeing how servicing goes -- Yelp reviews put me a little on guard but you better believe I know who to call beforehand when Im ready to come in and be treated right. I look forward to a long and happy relationship with my local Subaru.

This dealership is dishonest, but Im going to start off with the positive: It does sufficient sales volume that allows it to offer some pretty good deals. If you are going to buy a car from them run, dont walk, and insist on dealing only with Maria Cerceda. She is good people.Maria also had the good sense to honor my request not to subject me to the high pressure sales tactics the finance department will place on you to buy various after market products. Google these products before you buy them and youll understand why they have to be sold, rather than customers asking for them.Unfortunately, a car is ultimately only as good as the service support it receives, and you cant trust Subaru Santa Monicas service department. Here are some examples:Nearly a year ago I took my car in for a routine oil change and tire inspection. As Im a perfectionist and rigidly adhere to the tire specs Subaru recommends --35 psi in the front; 33 psi in the rear - I asked that my tire pressure be left alone because I didnt trust the tech to do it correctly. After picking up the car, I headed to the gas station to readjust the tire pressures, as the front and rear tires should have been reversed. They werent. There also was another sign the tires hadnt been rotated, despite the work order saying it had.At the time, SSM had a newly hired service rep named Chris Woodson. Chris is a southern gentleman who is honest and takes pride in his work. He could have lied and said the tech mistakenly adjusted the tires after rotating them. Instead, he told me to bring the car in and hed investigate.Long story short: my tires werent rotated because one of the screws was jammed and needed a special instrument. The tech was too lazy to go get it, so he just marked the work order saying the work was completed. Chris, a mechanic himself, personally rotated my tires and invited me to watch him do it.Chris lasted at SSM less than a year, and while I have no first hand-knowledge or evidence about why, my guess it had to do with the fact that his professionalism and Boy Scout honesty was a bad cultural fit. He was quite a loyal employee: He asked me to take down a negative review of my experience, despite the fact that it praised him mightily. As a favor to him, I did.I took my Subaru in today for another oil change and tire rotation. Unlike my older model, my 2018 Subaru gives a very accurate reading of the tire pressure. So, I let the assistant manager I spoke with know that I expected my tire pressure to be properly adjusted. When I picked up the car, he told me that he personally made the adjustments, assuring me they were dead-on accurate. The photo below shows the reading within two minutes of me pulling out; one front tire was overinflated by two pounds and both back tires overinflated by three pounds.Theres more: While waiting for my car I noticed a tech on multiple occasions smash a cars tires while trying to align them on the service bay. I was taken aback by his ineptness and carelessness, but also with the force he hit the bay. It seemed to me the force could have knocked out the alignment. Regardless, I wouldnt want that guy touching my car. Its hardly surprising that a customers vehicle was damaged last week at the shop.Other signs of disregard: I asked that my license plates be put on the car. I mistakenly expected they would take off the temporary sticker, but they couldnt be bothered. They also were too lazy to remove some tree sap on my car as part of their free car wash. Admittedly, not the end of the world, but it reflects a work ethic that says, I really dont give a damn.I love and trust Subaru; they quickly resolved an issue for me when I bought my first Outback. Im sending them this review and will update it if, and when, I get a response. I cant imagine that a company known for its commitment to safety and reliability wants a team of dishonest and disinterested amateurs servicing its awesome vehicles.

I can’t even explain how angry I am at Subaru of Santa Monica. Antonio has caused most of that anger because he completely waisted my time and money. I asked him to put a deposit down and he said they can’t do deposits to hold used cars but said he would be put it away for me because I told him I would buy it and drive there as soon as I could. We worked out a deal for me to come pick it up. Mind you I had to drive almost 5 hours to get here. I called him the day before I left and he said it was still available and for me to come in the next day. Even with the multiple prior confirmations I got from him that the car would be ready for me when I got here, I still texted Antonio the day I left from Vegas to confirm that I would be picking up the car and guess what!? The sales people told me it sold days ago and the car is not there. DAYS AGO! Antonio why did you tell me multiple times and even the day of that the car is still available and is ready for me. Seriously so unprofessional and inconsiderate. Wouldn’t even answer his phone after I texted him about it. He knew I was driving 5 hours and consistently told me it was available when it wasn’t. David and Tk had to help me because Antonio wasn’t there, they were helpful and I don’t have complaints about them. However if you ever have to work with Antonio just don’t. I don’t understand how he’s a manager. Absolutely awful experience and a total waste of my time.

I had a terrific experience at Subaru Santa Monica. I didnt want to rush into making a decision so I went multiple times, and they patiently answered all my questions without once trying to push me into buying. I had originally planned to buy used, but ended up buying new since the price wasnt much different. Many thanks to Vance Walden, whom I very much enjoyed working with. He took all my questions and concerns seriously and worked with me to get the perfect car! I am very grateful to him. Thanks to Everett Armstrong and Frank who also assisted. The only part of the experience I did not enjoy was when I when I talked to financing. The salesmen tried to push me into buying an extended warranty despite me stating clearly that it was out of my budget. I know he was doing his job, but this stood in stark contrast to the pleasant and comfortable experience I had while shopping for the actual car and slightly soured my overall Subaru experience.Overall my experience was great and I will recommend my friends to visit Subaru Santa Monica, and to ask for Vance. Thank you!

Everything went great with my purchase, up until I had them call me twice about a check bouncing two times. The first time was because the finance manager and I didnt fill out the information correctly, which wasnt a big deal until I physically had to go get another check from my bank and drive it almost 2 hours away. One week goes by and I have someone calling me from Subaru saying that the check bounced again, they told me I need to go to my bank and figure out what happened and get them the money soon before they have to go through their own lender. They decided to send me an email and told me to contact them via email instead of calling back. So I went to my bank to see what Subaru was talking about and then my bank checked their system and said that the money has been withdrawn by Subaru and everything had been processed already. They printed out the check information so I can send it via email to Subaru. After I sent the information they never called back. Then my battery dies on the used pre certified car that I purchased from them couple weeks ago with 27,000 miles. I called them and they said that they cant do anything for me and that they only make sure to check the actual car and not the battery. These people obviously got their money and said peace. Thought I would share my experience with you all. Have fun going there and I hope your experience is much better than mine.

Best car buying experience yet. Seth is absolutely amazing and made the process of getting the car painless and easy. We were in a hurry to get a new car and were not having the best experience with the other Subaru dealerships I was talking to. He was a great listener, super kind, and really took the time to show the features of the car. After talking with him we were pretty much sold that we would be buying the car from him and the Subaru Santa Monica dealership, and now love the car!

I bought a Crosstrek from Subaru Santa Monica in 2016 and am now trading in that vehicle in a different state. I have NEVER experienced worse customer service.

Everett Armstrong was my salesperson at Subaru Santa Monica. He is knowledgeable, polite, caring and patient. He did not pressure me at any time during my investigation of the car I purchased or the test drive. I call ed him with questions after our initial meeting and he responded in a very timely manner. I am learning the new features of he vehicle and he will help me any time I need assistance. If you decide to look at or purchase a Subaru vehicle I highly recommend you ask for Everett Armstrong. I guarantee your experience will be outstanding.

Efficient, pleasant, clean - and always has been. Would give 5 stars, but there was an issue with one of my tires that they thought was over-inflation, so they let out some air. Seemed fine, but after a day, the tire light went back on and I discovered that a different tire was under inflated. Not a big deal - maybe a coincidence - or maybe there is something going on that didnt get caught.

I was looking for a Subaru Forester and comparing quotes from local dealers. Brittanie Burner responded to my email with all the information I needed, and consistently provided competitive quotes. Quick responses too! Very nice to receive a human response rather than the annoying templated quotes from dealers that didnt even bother to read your email or respond to your exact vehicle questions. Thanks, Brittanie! 5 stars!

The whole experience was easier than I thought it would be. I walked in the dealership and was greeted by Patrick. Within a couple hours I was driving my new WRX home! I waited for an hour to speak with a sales person at a predesignated time then told there was a mix up - with ZERO communication proactively. I had to call him and text him multiple times then was given a victim style excuse. Mix ups happen, but the lack of potential customer care and communication are not good for business.

Working with William Kaufman has been very smooth process. He patiently walked me through each step of the process and provided me with updates on the status of the car until it was delivered. He was able to give me a great deal on the car and had me out of the dealership within 3 hours. The entire process was smooth and straightforward. After I signed the paperwork, he went above and beyond by showing me all the relevant parts of the factory manuals and the key features of the car. So happy to do business with them!

I was purchasing my new Crosstrek from another location, and after they did not follow through on their promise I called Santa Monica Subaru. I am so happy I did. I couldnt sing higher praise to the folks at Subaru of Santa Monica.I took my car in for what I thought was a minor oil leak, turned out to be a much bigger problem, the cost of which is more than the value of my vehicle. Andrew in service gave me several good options and did so without pressuring me to do anything. I absolutely love my old Forester and really dont want to part with it.Ive decided to weigh out my options over the weekend and let them know I would need some time to think it over. Even after I ruturn down the recommended repairs, these guys went above and beyond to treat me like a valued customer. When I stopped by to pick up my vehicle after getting of work, they had cleaned it inside and out, and topped my tire pressure. All free of charge..Fantastic customer service guys! Youve made me a Subaru owner for life...To the manager of Subaru Santa Monica, you should be very proud of your performance, and also your staff. Especially Andrew at the service desk. Thanks a million guys.

So I went to service my 2015 forester. Without going in technical details of what was wrong with the car, I want to come straight to the point. Either its under staffed or people who work behind the desk dealing with appointments are inexperienced. My 2nd appointment was kinda bummer, cz I was told that my appointment was day before. It could have been error on either side, but they could have called. I get reminders like that all the time. Its sad that I work 3 blocks away and live in Venice. I wont be going back here again. Very respectful and considerate tho, help me save $ on not running unnecessary diagnostic test on my car, although I knew what was wrong. Simple alignment issue, which I got it fixed at a local place in less then 30 min.
