So very helpful! I was looking for a specific book for my mother that she wanted. It was an esoteric spiritual book, but they looked it up and although they could not supply it they helped research it out and provided me options as to where we might find it. Really appreciated their assistance! Thats why we love our independents: caring customer service!

I love me a good bookshop! Diesel is tucked away in the Brentwood Country Mart, which is worth exploring in and of itself. Due to COVID you cant wander around the store, but the staff was useful in helping me find the book I was looking for. I recommend checking online before visiting to make sure the item youre looking for is in stock. Cool vibe and cant wait to check it out more post-COVID.

I order books periodically from this store and their second location. Always have a great experience. During COVID lockdown, I had the opportunity to attend many of their virtual events which were engaging and a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

The kind of place you look forward to going to a day in advance. Thoughtful, helpful staff. They look battered at the moment by people not wanting to indulge safety protocols. Im so grateful for them & this place. Especially right now. Yes, you can buy books cheaper online sometimes. You cant stumble across a new book in a different genre the same way you can in real life or from the recommendation of one of the voracious readers that works there. I miss working next door. It was always an escape. Now its a treat. See you tomorrow.

And ordering something couldnt be easier. A favorite destintation where I find what Im looking for as well as always a pleasant, unexpected surprise book or two.

I love this place! The staff knows there inventory and a happy to assist. Much like the bookstore s of yesterday before the big box stores put all the other players out. Great stock and fills orders quickly.

Los Angeles is lucky to have such a GREAT bookstore.If you call theyll look and see if they have the title, and then tell you if they also have it used for less...They wont let you use the bathroom though. They will say they dont have one which is such a stupid lie.

Lots of art books. Open to the outside, so can get hot on hot days. Books are cool, but the customer service was kind of unfriendly. I like Book Soup better.

I try to buy all of the books I purchase from Diesel. Not only do they have a wonderful selection for a small bookstore, but theyre happy to order any title they dont have in stock. The folks working at the store are friendly and know books! The small country mart the bookstore is located in is lots of fun to visit. Nice new store in san diego... curious how in the world they stay in business. First book i looked at was 32.99 and a quick check on amazon the same book was 19... to my home... these guys will not make it

Saved in favorites as its a pleasant, privately owned bookshop nestled in the midst of high end shops. You get all the service without all the attitude. They have a great range of titles. Nice to peruse, banter, and choose a couple things youve been seeking.

Awesome place. Super nice service. Amazing coffee! Try the latte with almond milk and the simple syrup. You could spend hours digging through the books.

An independent bookstore inside the Brentwood Country Mart manages to have a wide variety of hardback and paperback books in its small but cozy store. The staff is very friendly and helpful in making suggestions of some of their more unusual books if you are seeking a gift. They have wonderful childrens books and interesting items at the counter. Diesel also hosts evenings with authors and keeps you up-to-date if you sign up through email. It is heaven sent for booklovers and browsers alike. They validate parking too.
